Sharon, the best I can tell there is no scripture to back up a "secret rapture. " Rev 13:7 And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations. Daniel 7:25 And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time. My question is how does this happen if the people of God is not here?

Many give lip service to JESUS Mat 15:8 , but are not Born Again John 3:7 . It is they who lose out and are turned away Mat 7:22,23 . Salvation comes through JESUS CHRIST alone. It is a gift and cannot be earned Eph 2:8 . If GOD were to ask you why HE should let you into Heaven, what would your answer be? Would you tell HIM about your good works or give ALL credit to JESUS? Eph 2:9 KJV Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Interesting... Does this mean that Christians do not have to swear on the Bible when summoned to appear before court?
  • Jacob on Acts 1 - 11 years ago
You have to get the Kingdoms right. The Kingdom of heaven can suffer violence and the violent can take it by force see Matt 11:12. The Kingdom of God is entered by the new birth upon believing on Jesus Christ by the gospel revealed to Paul and it is found laid out in 1 Cor 15:1-4. Paul was BORN before his water baptism see 1 Cor 15:8. And Ananias called him BROTHER Saul in Acts 9:17 before water baptism in verse 18. There are no Christians in Acts 2. That term doesn 't even show up until Acts 11:26. Those saved before the gospel of the Grace of God were added to the Church because the N.T. had not been written and the mystery was not yet revealed to the apostle Paul. You can 't be saved by Acts 2:38 today. That 's the way to hell. You are saved by obeying the gospel found in 1 Cor 15:1-4. Rom 16:26 says its the OBEDIENCE OF FAITH. Rom 10:16 But they have not all OBEYED the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath BELIEVED our report?

What does TRUTH mean in this context? To me TRUTH is Christ Jesus. Thanks, Gloria
  • Jacob on Acts 2 - 11 years ago
This gospel being preached in Acts 2 is that of the Kingdom of Heaven. This is the same gospel that John the Baptist preached. Mark 1:4 John did baptize in the wilderness, and preach the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins. The kingdom was still being offered to the Jews because of Jesus ' prayer to THE FATHER, a member of the Godhead Rom 1:20, Col 2:9, Acts 17:29, in Lk 23.34 Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them for they know not what they do. In Acts 7 Jesus is standing at the right hand of the FATHER. I don 't see how you don 't see the Godhead in the Scripture. Jesus is standing because He was ready to come back if they would have received his message as a nation. That 's what He said would happen. Mark 14:62 And Jesus said, I am: and ye shall see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven. Mark 16:19 So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God. They rejected the message and God went to the Gentiles through the apostle Paul. The Gospel for today is found in 1 Cor 15:1-4 and no water baptism or tongues are mentioned. Acts 2:38 is cursed for today Gal 1:8-9. Why? It 's not for us today.

Actions speak louder than words. Of course we have to teach our kids the Word because indeed that is also Jesus!! but kids look also up to their parents , Are they doing what they 're teaching??? That speaks louder to them and will stick to them, Are my parents the doers of the Word and not only hearers????

I find it interesting that Abraham risked the anger of God to bargain with him about the fate of a hypothetical number of righteous men who might have been in Sodom, but when God told him to kill his own son, he didn 't make a peep, just grabbed a knife and a stack of wood and got to it. I know the parallel--the savior has come in the line of Abraham because he was willing to serve up his son as a sacrifice to God, so God sent the Savior of the world in his line--but it still makes me ponder on it. Many times a year we read of parents who have slaughtered their children because "voices " or some such told them to. The problem is, if you hear a voice, or see an apparation, that tells you to kill your child, what do you do? How would Abraham KNOW this was God Almighty? Did he ask to see his driver 's license or badge? AND, one might think this is the last thing the source of all goodness, righteousness, justice, etc. etc. would ask of one. I believe in God, and I believe the bible is His word, at least in some sense, but this is one of the tougher things, at least for me, to swallow.

Motgaugrnd, after the Day of Pentecost, in Acts 2, the apostles were filled with the Holy Ghost and the people baptized received the gift of the Holy Ghost, guiding them into all truth. They spoke in many different languages that day, actual human languages for the different peoples present. The purpose? To spread the Gospel. A new way to follow God. The Way through Jesus Christ. Tongue is from the Greek word glossa. When the apostles laid their hands on the new believers in Christ, those believers could cast out demons or speak in different languages. The purpose? To build up the church all over the world. Today we have the Bible translated in hundreds of languages, so everyone can read about Jesus and trust and obey. Praise God from whom all blessings flow! God bless you, Motdaugrnd.

This chapter is part of what I 've been studying in regard to the birth of Jesus as it relates to the birth of John the Baptist. There is apparently 6 months difference as to the times of their birth with John having been born first. Some of my other searches have told me John was born in the spring. I know Jesus was crucified in the spring, which was when He was 33-1 2 yrs old I believe. Can anyone help me understand the time-line here?

Many believers who are saved, do not find dwelling in them the Joy of Lord. Have you lost the Joy of your Salvation? God can restore you back to that experience. It is the daily work with God, possessing the Joy of the Lord that gives strength to the believer and attracts God 's help to dispel challenging situations around us.

As we have formed, many of thoughts in heart retching times, of how we have been removed from harms way.to say how did we arrive at this point. Is it because we have been bought for a price and the payment is final? Or maybe it is who we are a chosen vessel, created for perfection, but powerful enough to withstand any and all things imaginable . just a thought.

Do we have the right to judge justly i.e., discern between right and wrong at least to exercise and train our own conscience and establish righteous court systems in this world? Paul explains it in 1 Cor. 6 plainly. 'Condemning people unjustly '--now that 's wrong. Otherwise, let 's dismiss all teachers, mentors, philosophers, sociologists, writers, judges, JAGs, correctional facilities, etc. and become totally lawless. Hmmm, I don 't think so -

  • Virginia on Galatians 3 - 11 years ago
Paul ask the people of Galatia, " Do you not understand that Jesus is our Saviour?! He is our Lord and you all saw as I watched Him be crucified and now you 're acting as if you all have lost your minds!!! It is He who abides in us because of His crucifixion!!! We live by faith through Jesus Christ. Paul also let the people know that we are no longer under the law, but under the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit abides within us, therefore we will follow God 's instructions.

In verse 21 Jacob said that if God was with him and kept him safe, provided him with food clothing and that he would once again go back to his Father 's House in peace, then shall the Lord be his God. So that means that Jacob never recognised the Lord as his God before the dream ???

REV 13...Many will say to me in that day Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?....And then I will profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. MATT 7:22-23.....Our Messiah is evidently talking to people who believed they were Christian....Not everyone that saith unto me Lord, Lord, shall enter into the Kingdom of Heaven but he that doeth the Will of my father which is in Heaven. Obedience is God 's will. MATT 7:21...Is following after the belief of the Sunday Sabbath, of GOD, No! it is a Man made tradition! A catholic tradition...... Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto LIFE, AND FEW THERE BE THAT FIND IT. MATT7:14 GOD IS SAYING: COME OUT OF HER MY PEOPLE, AND BE NOT PARTAKERS OF THE WRATH THAT IS COMING UPON THE CHILDREN OF DISOBIENCE!!! It 's very real, and coming soon. AMEN!!
  • Sharon on Matthew 24 - 11 years ago
I have encountered controversy over many of the verses in this chapter. I was raised to believe in a secret rapture since I was a child, but this entire chapter speaks to the contrary. My questions are this if anyone can help. If believers will be removed during a secret rapture before the tribulation, why would Jesus provide this detailed warning that we will see the antichrist seated in the church and give us instructions to flee? 15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, whoso readeth, let him understand: 16 Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains: Satan will be given permission to wage war against the saints. If all have been raptured, then this would not be possible. A secret rapture would give discredit to the words of God. We all will face persecution from the antichrist. The world will be split between those deceived and the elect who see the truth as God reveals it. 23 Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there believe it not. 24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. Some believe that verse 40 and 41 prove a rapture. I see this as a symbolic verse of the split of the world. Those who follow the antichrist and those who refuse.

GODS QUESTIONMARK ON YOU...Phalieman 1:8-22... 1Reference: whois your reference and who take responsibility for your sins, your problems, your attitudes, Jesus, said will take responsibility- That is Christ...Just as a person will use you as a reference...you have to answer some questions about that person..maybe 2 or three...most of us use or pastor and they will ask ...do they come to church?...are they there on time? ..Do they attend regularly?...Jesus is our reference for God... 2.Return..the return to Philemon as a different changeperson from slave to a person...Paul looked at the slave as a person and not a slave. 3. Reconciliation- Take him backas a brother to serve with you in Christ.....Paul wrote this in his own hand to teach about his personal pledge to the slave...to teach Philimon the rich man...2nd Corintians 5:19---21...The slave changed his life after he had run away and come back as Paul was his reference...

  • Believer on Psalms 38 - 11 years ago
verse 19-20: When I stand up for Jesus in public there are always those who are offended by it and hate me for it. They hate me wrongfully and render evil by persecuting me for the good that I do because I follow the thing that good is. What is the thing that good is? Belief in Jesus, preaching Jesus, confessing Jesus as your Lord and Savior, and not being afraid or embarrassed to mention the name of Jesus in public.
  • Jerry on James 4 - 11 years ago
Prayer is the result of mans call upon God even the righteous ask amiss at times or we ask not. The emphasis of James writing in chapter 4 is directed to the age old problem between man and God. Can He provide all that we need or must we continue to eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil? We need humility rather to inquire of God , Jesus suffered and died for this cause.
  • RNM ROM-------17 on Romans 7 - 11 years ago
Romans chp 7--Probably one half of the Worlds population profess to be Christian, around three to three and one half billion people. But their is something odd, in what our Messiah said in Matt. 7:14..Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.. an ODD thing for our Savior to say, seeing how many Christians are living just in this age alone? And then we have this scripture Matt 7:21 Not everyone that saith unto me Lord, Lord, shall enter into the Kingdom of Heaven, but he that doeth the WILL of my FATHER which is in Heaven..... Not everyone, referring to more than one,... saith Lord, Lord, evidently these are people that have believed in Jesus, Now He says, but he that doeth the will of my Father? What is the will of God?.. The Will of GOD is this,we believe that GOD is the Creator and that he has created everything that has been created, and nothing remaining. He has sent into this World our sacrifice, to shed his Holy Blood and cleanse all mankind of their sin, we are to be obedient to Him, and His Commandments, giving our total allegiance to Him and His word. This is Gods will. OK, Now we see this scripture Matt 7:22---MANY, will say to me in that day LordLord, have we not prophesied in thy name? And in thy name have cast out devils? And in thy name done many wonderful works. Matt 7:23 And then I will profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity....Now we see who He is talking about, professing Christians probably believing in this life, they are pleasing the Lord, but to the Lord they are far from Him!! II TIM 4:3-4...For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears: And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. Since the Blasphemous satanic roman church changed the sacred Holy Sabbath of GOD and slaughtered the saints of God, man has followed after the traditions of man, their traditions which has brought mankind to this point today, a FALSE RELIGION, THE SUNDAY WORSHIP is secretly the worship of the pagan sun god! satan has tricked you through the deception of all the churches, catholic and protestant, their is none of God. you don 't think it 's possible, lets go back to before the flood, he deceived the whole Earth then to and they all perished! And he doing it again and laughing at all of you. Find a Bible believing seventh day believing, group of people that don 't observe holy days, they were nailed to the cross, and don 't observe Christmas, or easter, two pagan satanic days. along with Halloween. And may GOD help you for your sake. AMEN!!!

  • Motdaugrnds on Matthew 12 - 11 years ago
Mathew 12 37 "...by thy words thou salt be justified and by thy words thou shalt be condemned... " Likewise, see James 3:13 "Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? Let him shew out of a good conversation... " and Luke 6:45 "A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that wich is good...for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh. " Also Pro. 10:10 "...With the heart man believeth unto righteousness and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. " See Pro. 18:21 "Death and life are in the power of the tongue... " and James 3:10 "Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. " My understanding of all these is that a curse is more than just a 4-letter word. It can be an act that invokes harm to another or it can be an act of profanity, i.e. implying content of religious things th4ru speech or action. I encourage readers with prayer for understanding first to re-read what the world calls "The Lord 's Prayer " in this regard, referencing this prayer with Heb. 2:14-15 and Col. 1:13
