Someone asked the question in these comments 'how did the gospel ever come about since everyone or all were sinning? '. The Gospel is the good news of salvation that is offered to all. It is offered from God and not man. Yes, the 'all have sinned ' refers to all men, and 'all have sinned and come short of the glory of God '. The 'Gospel ' is the good news that we do not have to pay for our sin. Jesus died to pay for our sins, therefore He is the source of the Gospel, which thankfully has nothing to do with 'sinful ' mankind. However, we are charged to spread the 'Gospel ' and the fact that we are all sinners in no way stops us from doing so, nor does it change the message of this good news.

I thought we were not supposed to swear at all by heaven or earth according to Christ in the New Testament. Now what made the change from Old ways to the New ways? SO, I wonder am I taking "swear " out of context in my mind. "As the Lord YHWH lives " sounds like something the Father or His Son, Jesus, would like the sound of but so many people with too much time on their hands for them, it was "As the World turns " and so, I say, "Be not of this world, nor of its patterns, but come out of it and be separate. " AND in HIM there is no shadow of turning. As surely as YHWH lives, He convicted me about wasting my time on American soap opera T.V. if only I could be a linen sash around His waist.

I also took interest in the word want. When I first read this verse, it looked like I don 't want the Lord as my shepherd, which of course is ridiculous. I do want and need him....the verse about the still waters has me a little puzzled is the water a pond? Because most waters run constantly unless it is referring to heaven. One day I won 't have to wonder anymore.....I 'll be with HIM!

Our God is awesome! The ark rested in the 7th Month on the 17th day, upon the Mountains of Ararat. This shows how specific Our God is. It shows that there is time and place for everything. There were so many Mountains...Why did God choose Ararat? God has a place for everything. Divine timing goes with Divine Positioning. Have you ever asked God if where you are now is the right place for you? If you are going through a flood like experience, an up and down situation, instability etc I advice you pray and ask God to cause your ark to rest in the right place...There is a Mountain Ararat for you and until you get there you can 't rest. I pray for you today that the Good Lord will cause your ark to rest in your Mountain Ararat in Jesus Name! Amen.

  • Rev. Autrey on Jeremiah 3 - 11 years ago
We can 't understand the Lord 's Prayer until we understand that Jesus is talking about himself as the God the Jews knew as their Father. They called him YHWH GOD or the I AM, based on the knowledge Moses Gave them. But Paul said that that God was Chirst. 'For they all drank from the same miraclous rock that followed them, and that Rock was Christ. ' Listen to what Jesus as God said to the people in Jeremiah 3. 'I thought to myself, I would love to treat you as my own children! I wanted nothing more than to give you this beautiful land, the finest inheritance in the world. I looked forward to you calling me Father. ... ' The point is, Jesus is telling the Jews, and us, too, that he is God, coming to save his people. And until we accept him this way, we can have no salvation. Then what of THE FATHER? THE FATHER was not known to us until Jesus made him known during his ministry. Jesus was saying to us that there is another personality of God besies me. He is THE FATHER, and I want you to know him. But tell him I sent you. He loves you dearly and cares for you just as much as I do. But do not try to use him to bypass me. I am the way God speaks to you and always will be. Come unto me to be saved. Yes, call on my name and I will save you. Jesus loves you!

  • Don on 1 Corinthians 13:13 - 11 years ago
No matter how it 's translated, no matter what biblical, socioeconomic lens one chooses to view that chapter and verse, the foundational understanding that should be considered is how much of the three yea four are displayed in the totality of our lives? Love is God, therefore Love empowers, infuses our Faith, Hope Charity, to individually and corporately exist in the concerns of this world. They are individually wrapped together in the same bonding affect effect of the heart of Jesus Christ. Wouldn 't you agree?
  • Caitlin on Genesis 1 - 11 years ago

  • Gr on 1 Corinthians 1 - 11 years ago
Please note that in verse 13 Paul asks the question was Paul crucified for you or were you baptized in the name of Paul? Of course what is intended here is that Jesus was crucified for them and they were baptized in the name of Jesus. We also know through reading I Corinthians that they were baptized with the Holy Spirit, ICor 12 13. How then was the Corinthian church saved? Repentance, baptism in the name of Jesus and receiving the Holy Spirit. This is the same message preached by Peter in Acts 2 38 and the same saving plan of salvation taken on by the Samaritans in Acts 8, Paul in Acts 9, Gentiles in Acts 10, Ephesians in Acts 19 and the Jews in Acts 2.
  • Rev. Autrey on Luke 1:45 - 11 years ago
Luke 1 reads, 'What an honor this is, that the mother of my Lord should visit me! ' The only Lord Elizabeth knew was YHWH GOD of the Old Testament. So this is the God she was talking about. And she called Mary the mother of this God. Then she said that her baby shouted for joy because God 's mother was near her. It can 't be no other way! Elizabeth was refering to Paslm 88, versse 1, where David said of God, 'O Jehovah, God of my salvation, I have wept before you day and night. ' Please tell me if I am wrong. But isn 't Jesus the one who saves us? Then Jesus is the God David is talking about. People get confused because they forget that God has two other personalities besides Jesus. But only through Jesus does he save us. The Father, then, is the way God directs his affairs, but he is not the way God saves us. This is only done through Jesus. May God open pur hearts to understand!

God knows I stand for Israel God 's beloved. And may He forgive me for thinking Ishmael is part of His beloved through Abraham. This scripture as my layman mind reads is that neither Israel or Palestine have no claim separately, but as one?
  • Nkosinathi Ngulube on Genesis 1:1 - 11 years ago
To S Stephen 's and Rod 's comments God 's foolishness, if permit He me, surpasses science and or human intelligence. He has made it so that only a chosen few may believe , in faith ,in all His doing. We can lobby and parade about sciences and big bangs because of the intentions of lucifer 's deciet.l believe God never ever created anything by error or in error.Who am l, insignificant before Him, can dare point out, according to my limited science and intelligence, how things were created besides what the word says?.Even Moses himself could only see and or know as far as God allowed him to, thus when He, Elohim says " ask for anytning ", We His folk boldly ask Him to reveal the secrets of His mysteries to us, and what He does not reveal to us now urges us to win this race of righteousness so that when we live eternally in His Kingdom, all hidden things shall be laid bare.
  • Jan on Isaiah 46 - 11 years ago
The economy of our nation, speaks well of those who have contributed much in measured investments which will vary day to day, and does not remain the same. To trust in the value is in itself a risk without belief in the revealed Messiah as explained in this verse, if you compare carefully with the events which had taken place during the Roman occupation of Israel when JESUS CHRIST had been in town, and a Roman judgement of being crucified well documented by inspirational documentation in New Testament writings, being forsaken and yet mute to those accusing. He will not have this happen to me in my old age, as long as I REMEMBER who saved my soul. Why trust anything else?
  • Alvis on Proverbs 3:6 - 11 years ago
In the URL that led to this page, I read that "all " means everything. If "all " means everything or in another case of "everybody " then there is a problem with salvation coming to pass. The phrase "for all have sinned and come short of the glory of God ", cannot mean everyone, for if it be so, then, how did the gospel ever come about since everyone or all were sinning?
  • Anonymous on Revelation 4:7 - 11 years ago
