Why the right ear? What is the significance? Is there something more hidden here, that God is revealing? Something about servants of the old order, old covenant, not hearing, losing their ears to hear. That was Jesus ' most common phrase as He told parables. He did heal the servant of the high priests ear. Did they become servants of man and not of God, missing it? Obviously they missed the Christ because they could see, hear, or understand with their hearts. And what about the doorman in the old testament who would get his ear peirced to the door, symobolizing ownership? There 's got to be more here

  • Rev. Autrey on Psalms 24 - 11 years ago
Verses 7 10 "Open up,anient gates! Open up, ancient doors, and let the King of glory come in. Who is the King of glory? The Lord, strong and mighty, the Lord, invincible in battle. Open up, ancient gates! Open up, ancient doors, and let the King of glory come in. Who is the King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty, he is the King of glory. " This is a prophecy about God coming as Jesus to enter through the gates of Jerusalem brfore he went to the cross to save his people. According to John 12, the people shouted Hosanna, meaning God save us. The disciples ditn 't realize what this meant, but is was a fulfillment of prophecy. The Sovereign God of the universe had come to give his life to save the entire world. But people will say, what about the Father, isn 't he God? Yes he is. But we must understand that God has two other personalities beside Jesus. To put is plainly, the Father is the way God directs his affairs, Jesus is the way God speaks to us, and the Holy Spirit is the way God helps us to understand all of this. But in all cases, God speaks to s only through his personality Jesus. God bless you!
  • Jeffrey on Acts 2 - 11 years ago
To answer Abrhams comment on verse 38, the only book where we see anyone actually being baptized in the name of the LORD is in the book of Acts. An interesting point to confirm this is Paul 's questioning of the believers in Ephesus. He first was able to ascertain that they didn 't have the Holy Ghost even though they believed, but he also pinpointed the problem with his follow up question "how were you baptized? " They were baptized wrong and he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the LORD. My question to you is what is the name of the child born and the son given who is the mighty God and the Everlasting Father?
  • Rev. Autrey on Isaiah 40:3 - 11 years ago
Verse 3 Listen! I hear the voice of someome shouting, 'Make a highway for the Lord through the wilderness. Make a straight, smooth road through the desert for our God. ... Then the glory of the Lord will be revealed, and all people will see it together ... ' " This is a prophecy about God coming as Jesus to save his people from their sins. We know it is because it was made during Old Testament times, before pople had a chance to say that Jesus is not the God spoken of here. We must understand that because all sin is against God, this makes God himself the offended one. And according to all known legal codes, the offended one is the only person legally authorized to remove the offense. What I am saying is, according to God 's own law, God is the only one authorized to come and set ut free from the offenses we committed against him. We know this is true because the passage continues "Messenger of good news, shout to Zion from the mountaintops! Yes, the Sovereign Lord is coming in all his awesome power. " Jesus is called the Sovereigh Lord, here, because he is the way God did come to us. That is, just as he said to Paul on the Damascus road, "I am Jesus. the one you are persecuting. " Then to make this absolutely clear, the passage concludes, "He will feed his flock like a shepherd. He will carry them close to his arms, holding them close to his heart. ... " Who else but Jesus is the good shepherd who leads us to the green pastures of heaven? May the Lord be with you!

  • Jeff on Acts 2 - 11 years ago
...furthermore to not save a tadpole, when Paul came to Ephesus he met believers who had not received the Holy Spirit in Acts 19. His first question to them when they replied in the negative was what? How were you baptised? Two questions....if you get the Holy Ghost just by believing, why did Paul ask them if they had it or what was his indication that they didn 't? Second question is obvious, why did he ask them how they were baptised if it is not important to salvation? Perhaps you should search the scriptures a little more diligently.
  • Carolann on Isaiah 53:2 - 11 years ago
I don 't think very many people, including Christians know this verse. I have heard that the Jews have removed it from their present day Scriptures. I suppose because they don 't want to accept the fact that their prophet Isaiah told the truth which they have not been able to accept. I think it is a beautiful verse and gives us those of us born after Christ resurrected to Heaven to be with the Father, at least a physical picture of Jesus and also tells of His virtues. I enjoy the Book of Isaiah and the way he expressed has words which are very poetic. But, I wonder, if today s Christians would accept Christ so readily or even at all if the pictures of Him were to show Him much closer to the description in Is. 53 2 states??
  • Michelle on Leviticus 19:28 - 11 years ago
"Allen 's comment on 2013 10 14 10 15 15 It Is plain and simple. Don 't do it. It 's what the Lord says. End of story. " Something to think about Allen, who was the Lord talking to and when was this...Now should all that apply to us now? How about the verse preceding that one? Lev 19 27 Ye shall not round the corners of your heads, neither shalt thou mar the corners of thy beard. I 'm not saying God does not have applicable rules for NT Christians...He does, but so many times we pick and chose which of the rules we think we should abide by taking them out of context and becoming legalistic!

In John 20 17, Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not For I am not yet ascended to my Father but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and to your Father and to my God and your God. Do I understand that Jesus would not descend to Heaven for forty days. But why did Jesus not want Mary to touch him but later before he ascended let Thomas touch him to prove that He was actually Jeasus? Thank you and God Bless you all.

  • Jon on Psalms 69:1 - 11 years ago
This is messianic psalm of David. It speaks of Christ pouring his soul to God the Father in the face of impendind death for the salvation of me and you. If christ the Son of God was able to pray to his Father, what makes you and me not to come boldly to the throne of grace to find mercy and grace during the times of our needs? Indeed the Father saved the Son from the sinking death and grave. Can our God stands afar from your grievous and sinking situations? Not at all. Those who has acknowledged and accepted Christ as their Savior, the Father surely will meet their needs.
