  • BoIT04 on 1 Timothy 5:23 - 11 years ago
Reading with the setting and the circumstances that Timothy was in in mind we realize that the prescription was for Timothy to drink in little amount, and little concentration, the alcohol. It was during this time that the water was contaminated so Paul advised him to let go of the legalism of maintaining purity from alcohol and instead take a little for his health. But if this was a private prescription to Timothy, why include it in the Bible which clearly can never be described as a 'Private n Confidential ' diary? For the sole reason that we should learn from its core teaching legalism to the Scriptures does not bind in a way that the life of man is threatened. Simple!

Acts 19 5 states that believers must get baptized in the name of Jesus. Paul did in Acts 8 19 22 16. He got baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. Peter and the apostles of course baptized in Jesus name. Are you going to be a new testament Christian or a disciple of some church. God or baal. Who do you serve?
  • Bradley Templeton on 2 Chronicles 36 - 11 years ago
Why do many scholars state Chronicles 36 is end of Old Testament, despite the last verse of Chap. 36 has knowledge and is similar to start of Ezra Nehemiah? When written, not placement in Bible.
  • Matthew on Proverbs 20:1 - 11 years ago
Other translations of this verse state "whoever errs by these is not wise ". Ephesians 5 18 states "Be ye not filled with wine, wherein is excess, but be filled with the Holy Spirit ". To me, Ephesians 5 18 speaks volumes. If you break down the language that is being used you 'll find 1 wine and the Holy Spirit cannot exist together be ye not filled with wine, but be filled with the Holy Spirit. The usage of the conjunction "but " implies it has to be one or the other. 2 Some feel that the phrase "wherein is excess " means drunkenness or a large consumption... That a drink is ok. Personally I don 't find that to be the case. I think the verse conveys, by that statement, that any consumption leads to excess. Look at it this way if I were to take an empty glass and fill it, it has volume, however, if I take the same empty glass and place a drop of water into it, what have I done? By no means is it "full ", but it is more "filled " than it was initially. I feel this verse cautions against any intake, no matter how much or how little. May the love of the Father be ever with you.

  • Deborah Wheeler on Psalms 119:11 - 11 years ago
As a born again Christians, sin is not rooted in our nature. We have been given a new nature! If we believe we are sinners we will continue to sin. Will we sin? Yes, for two reasons first, because we choose to and secondly, because we believe the lies of the enemy. Church, we are SAINTS OF THE MOST HIGH GOD! The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob!

  • Katlego Motlhabane on John 12:32 - 11 years ago
Jesus spoke to Nicodemus in John 3 said "just as Moses lifted up the bronze snake in the wilderness,so the Son of Man must be lifted up, so that everyone who believes in Him will have eternal life. Looking at the text in Numbers 21 4 8 we see that the israelites spoke against God and Moses ans God sent snakes amongst them and they were bitten, some died, Moses interceded for the people and the LORD instructed Moses to make a bronze image of a snake on a pole and everyone who was bitten was healed from the snake bite once they looked at it. So in a sense the bronze snake took the the sting of death from the snake bite. So John 12 32 and John4 12 is to be viewed in parallel to this scenario. Now it clear that in the original text of John 12 32 "men " is not there. So what did Jesus draw to Him when He was lifted up? Now the israelites were bitten by snakes and a bronze image of a snake was made and looking upon it made them recover, Jesus who knew no sin became sin, and on the cross He drew all sin and thus you and I have life once we acknowledge His Lordship over us. Snake bite bronze snake recover. Sin sting of sin death Jesus becoming sin on the cross eternal life for us . John3 14,

Let no man deceive you by any means for that day shall come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition ......Fellow Christians are we being decieved? My father and my Aunt do not believe in a pretrib rapture but my mother does....so I decided that I wanted God to show me the truth....If we pay attention to what is being said "Let no one deceive you for the day of the Lord shall come until there is a falling away the apostasy of the church and the man of sin the son of perdition is revealed Anti Christ "....It says that the Lord will not come until after these events and do not let any man deceive you!!!

To comment on the post above "how does an all powerful God need to rest? God did not rest because He was weary, but because He was pleased at what He accomplished. He truly loved His creation.
  • Matt on Matthew 16 - 11 years ago
Verse 18 Jesus calls Simon Rock Petras in the Septuagint Greek which is itself a translation of the older Aramaic. Look at the subsequent commission Jesus tells Peter that the gates of hell will not prevail against it. And whatever you declare bound on earth is bound in heaven and whatever thou looses on earth will be loosed in heaven. A rebuke followed by giving such authority or a commission followed by giving authority? Sounds like authority. The same authority with which successors approved the Christian Bible around 389 AD. No authority no Bible. Jesus ' authority given to the Apostles, given to their successors who had authority to approve the Bible of 389 AD. What authority the New Testament has is derived from Jesus bestowing authority to his Apostles. And the gates of Hell will not prevail against it.

  • Tml on Matthew 7:14 - 11 years ago
Narrow is just that false reachings, half truths, and easy living may be how we interpret Salvation? For me only I sinned even though I were a Christian. Repentance for me was difficult and came later in life. I was not living by God 's Word, but though I was doing well holding on to certain verses and selecting to stand on certain believes that gave the most comfornt in my times of need. Perhaps I 've been on the wide road even though I called myself a Christian and have not lived the way God explains.

  • Olayinka oye on Exodus 21 - 11 years ago
What a priviledge! Jesus Christ bought us believers with His life. This He did to set us free from the judgement and paying the price for breaking these laws. But majority of us are taking the Grace of God for granted. Shall we continue in sin that Grace may abound? ,Believers who maltreat their servants, house helps, beat and inflict injury on them and have forgotten that they are also created by God should have a change of heart. There should be discipline but not in excess. If not for Jesus, how many of us believers will stand? Though we are not under law but grace, we should not take it for granted. It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of God because He God is a consuming fire.

  • Ruth on 1 Corinthians 13:13 - 11 years ago
If God is love and we are saved and filled with his holy spirit, shouldn 't we automatically have Charity? Yet, some Christians do not seem to to have charity. charity is love, patience, kind, willing to sacrifice one 's needs to help someone else. Like when the woman had only enough meal for her and her son, but because she had charity, it brought about faith and she gave her last food to the prophet of God even though she and her son might die...but was willing by

  • Leigh on Genesis 1:1 - 11 years ago
I don 't claim to fully understand God is 3 in one person 's BUT I do believe it.....I believe no task is beyond His limits.....how could or can we ever totally understand who or what he is....for He is beyond all measure....He is God and I am thankful that He is my Lord and Savour and when you have a personal relationship with Jesus "YOU KNOW IT " and unless you are a believer you will never understand that....and that is one of the ways you know Jesus is the way the truth and the life.....it 's so personal....Glory to God in the Highest and saying that....you to can have what I have ...just ask the question "God are you real?, and if you are I want to know....trust he will start working with and in you in a way that will bring you to Salvation....and when you look back after becoming a believer you will be astonished the road he will take you on to draw you to himself....nothing more or nothing less than "Amazing Grace " thank you Lord for excepting me a mere sinner and what you did on that Cross to cover My sins....all those years ago...Blessed be thy Name....
  • Terry on Psalms 23:6 - 11 years ago
This passage is both, prophetic and a word for David, he knows of Gods goodness and protection through his trials and tribulations living under the old covenant, where he has a glimpse of Eternity. And for us today living under the new covenant there 's the hope and promise of Eternal life through the grace and goodness of Christ our intercessor, Paul writes in Hebrews 13 v 5 "I will never leave you nor forsake you " Who could ask for more? What a faithful GOD have I
