  • Janice on Genesis 11 - 12 years ago
OK, someone explain this to me please. Terah fathered Abram, Nahor, and Haran.

    Haran fathered Lot.

Did Abram and Nahor marry their nieces?
Sarai and Milcah, the daughter of Haran. referring to vs 31.

Looks to me Sarai, was Abram niece instead of sister-in-law. I know further in the chapters she is referred as being Abram's sister as well.

When Jesus called peter to come unto Him on water, Jesus knew about the boisterous wind that was going to hinder peter to fulfill Jesus`s will. But Peter forgot that he has to walk on water with great faith in Jesus. Overcoming Challenges and obtacles which are present in our way during the fulfillment of God`s Plan in our lives require our Faith in God which is our deepest relationship with God, our intimacy with God, our knowledge about God. Who is God for you? God is my Daddy, my
helper, my healer, my finance, my Breakthrough...
    Praise God

this is the way i see it. each and everyone of us has a personal race to run for God. he has made us for a purpose. there are things that the lord has made us to do for him. remember it is not about us. thats why God wants us to lay aside every weight that beset us, in other words, anything that distract us or hinder us from doing his will. the weight can be many things. let me name a few money, your children, people, your house, your car and worries. all of these things cause us to sin. one of the biggest one is worry! why do we worry, is it because we dont trust God? we don't have the faith. we say that we are a christin.but we don't have the faith. it is impossible to please God without faith. he also said let not our hearts be trouble. by his stripes we are heal.so why? do we worry.God is tring to get us to focus on the race that he has set before us. Jesus gave us the holy bible to go by, our basic instruction before we leave earth. so my sisters and brothers, God has everything in control, all we need to do is have faith and trust him that he will do what he said that he would do. stay focus on our mission down here, being led by God. think! you for leting me comment.

WHO Was Uzziah? the death of Uzziah (His pride and assumption)brought Change and Transformation to Isaiah into a higher Calling. If we can give up most of the things we are depending on,clean our heart and spirit we shall see God.

  • Robert on Luke 12 - 12 years ago
He is talking about believers and non believers in this verse. You probaly will never hear a preacher quote:
51Suppose ye that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division:

52For from henceforth there shall be five in one house divided, three against two, and two against three.

53The father shall be divided against the son, and the son against the father; the mother against the daughter, and the daughter against the mother; the mother in law against her daughter in law, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.

IN YOUR copy of the Bible, how is Psalm 83:18 translated? The New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures renders this verse: “That people may know that you, whose name is Jehovah, you alone are the Most High over all the earth.” A number of other Bible translations give similar renderings. However, many translations leave out the name Jehovah, replacing it with such titles as “Lord” or “Eternal.” What belongs in this verse? A title or the name Jehovah?

    God’s name in Hebrew letters

This verse speaks about a name. In the original Hebrew in which much of the Bible was written, a unique personal name appears here. It is spelled יהוה (YHWH) in Hebrew letters. In English, the common rendering of that name is “Jehovah.” Does that name occur in only one Bible verse? No. It appears in the original text of the Hebrew Scriptures nearly 7,000 times!

How important is God’s name? Consider the model prayer that Jesus Christ gave. It begins this way: “Our Father in the heavens, let your name be sanctified.” ( Matthew 6:9) Later, Jesus prayed to God: “Father, glorify your name.” In response, God spoke from heaven, saying: “I both glorified it and will glorify it again.” ( John 12:28) Clearly, God’s name is of the utmost importance. If this interests you, feel free to reply to this Bible given truths and I will do my best to get back to whatever question you may have with regards to our Creators devine name...keep on seeking the truth.
  • The KJB on 1 Corinthians 14 - 12 years ago
Sir I'm sorry you can't read 4th grade English. " I THE LORD HAVE DECEIVED THAT PROPHET,"( Ezekiel 14:9). I agreed you made a good point. If you will read ( I doubt it) let these Scriptures (KJB) flip your wig, and pray about this about 10 years. ( 2 Sam 24:1) And again the anger of the LORD was kindled against Israel, and He moved David against them to say, Go, number Israel and Judah. ( 1 Chr 21:1) Satan stood up against Israel, and provoked David to number Israel. Now you know the Bible doesn't contradict. ( Job 1:12) And the LORD said unto Satan, Behold, all that he hath is in THY POWER; now look at ( Job 2:3) "and still he holdeth fast his integrity, although thou MOVEDST ME against him, to destroy him without cause." You want a hint to the answer? The LORD's axe is sharpened on the Devil's grindstone ~Havner.
  • Greg Lowe on Proverbs 9 - 12 years ago
Interesting the way God condescends to communicate to us. Proverbs was originally written to young men who would rule Israel. What do young men care about? Women. God presents wisdom as a lady and folly the same, two competing voices vying for a hearing. Which one listens to determines their ultimate fate in life. To turn one's heart towards the Lord of life is to be in the path of life, where one learns how to live. To fear God is to listen to and defer to his truth and that is where wisdom in life is found. The heart of the hearer determines who he will listen to, sin, or wisdom, one's own perspective on life, or Gods.

Who were those 3 men that had visited Abraham?
Were they all angels or one of them was God?
  • Andrew on Isaiah 3:12 - 12 years ago
Are we seeing this today? Definitely! Children are given too much rights with compliment from legislators, wrong parenting, do gooders, educational mis-teaching etc etc.
Women are no better if they walked all over people. It is quite sad to see that happening today! Only the return of our Messiah will solve that.
  • Carol Tanner on Psalms 22:24 - 12 years ago
"...affliction of the afflicted" gave me the impression that this phrase referred to many people, or any number of people, or everyone at one time or another.
BUT THEN, the next phrase states, "nor has He hidden His face from HIM, but when he cried to Him for help, He heard." So the "afflicted" is an individual rather than many people.
This describes Jesus' experience on the cross.
However, the Jewish Publication Bible Society Psalm 22:25, seems to say something different when speaking of "the poor."
Is this a translation difference or conflict?
And why is it verse 25 rather than 24?
Wesley's notes are rich with compassion

  • Gods word is true on Acts 2 - 12 years ago
If Acts 2:38 means be baptised in order to get your sins remitted, does "Christ died for our sins" in ( 1 Cor 15:3) mean Christ died in order to get our sins? When you get arrested FOR stealing, does that mean that you got arrested because you stole,(the answer is yes) or in order to get stealing? When you get baptised you get baptised because you are saved. Otherwise an unborn child, which is what you become when you get saved (Jn1:12, Gal 3:26) is obeying commands. Baptism is a command and you can't obey a command unless you are born of God. Poeople get baptised but unless your already SAVED, you are just getting wet. Amen.

  • Rev. Autrey on Psalms 14:1 - 12 years ago
(Verse 1) "Only fools say in their hearts, "There is no God." They are corrupt, and their actions are evil. No one does good!"

The God the writer is talking about in this verse is Jesus. We know this because in verse 7 the writer says, "Oh, that salvation would come from Mount Zion to rescue Israel!" That is, when will Jesus come and save his people? We know that Jesus did come, because Jesus the Savior was born to the Jews many years later, and died to take away our sins.

The people who deny Jesus "are corrupt, and their actions are evil" because they deny that Jesus is God. Yes, they may say that Jesus is "a" God, or that Jesus came from God, but they will not say that Jesus is God Most High. They completely ignore the Scripture that says, "For unto us a child is born, and unto us a son is given. And his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, THE MIGHTY GOD. ..." Then is says that this is guaranteed by God himself.

    OH, that we would understand!

  • Geoff Hicks on Ecclesiastes 1:9 - 12 years ago
Up above in Ecclesiastes 1:9 from the King James Bible the quote is 'The thing that hath beene, it is that which shall be: and that which is done, is that which shall be done; and there is no new thing vnder the sunne.' I think the word 'vnder' is a misprint and should be 'under' - what do you think?
  • Darrell on Romans 1:21 - 12 years ago
Isn't this the exact process that Adam/Eve went through? "When the woman saw". Saw literally means " to advise self", she became vain in her imaginations. Aren't we to "cast down imaginations and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God? Seems to me that Adam/Eve represents our spirit/soul .
  • Bill Millner Jr on Ezekiel 1 - 12 years ago
The wheels described in the Great Book of Ezekiel sounds like some type of space craft. Of course, Ezekiel had never seen anything except an ox cart wheel but he did a good job of describing the movement and the landing gear plus the windows round about the craft. Also, Ezekiel described the wheels being round and moving together forward, up ward and down. God may have shown Ezekiel a space craft from another demention? Any responses?

Its the only plan of salvation. Its all truth. I was born and raised catholic. Realized that it was nothing but lies. I asked God to direct me to the real church as I didn't have time to visit them all. he sent me an apostolic preacher. Since then I have studied the bible over and have not found a flaw in the apostolic doctrine.I have dedicated my life to passing out the plan of salvation to anyone I meet.If you don't have bible for what you belive your spinning your wheeles and you are gona get left behind. How can you overlook baptism ? don't you want your sins washed away. There is only one way to have your sins remitted. BAPTISM.In JESUS name Wake up my bro. and sisters. we are in the very last days. Ask your pastor his plan of salvation / you may be surprised at his answer. The sinners prayer don't cut it/ Just believing don't cut it/joining church don't cut it/caling him Jehovah don't cut it/ ACTS 2:38 IS THE ONLY ANSWER. praise JESUS

  • Thy word is truth on Exodus 20 - 12 years ago
( Gal 5:4) Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace. (VS 12) I would they were even cut off which trouble you. The sabbath was a sign to Israel (Ez 20:12) Moreover also I gave them my sabbaths, to be a SIGN between me and them, that they might know that I am the LORD that sanctify them. ( 1 Cor 1:22) "For the Jews require a SIGN," The Sabbath is left out of the N.T. ( Rom 13:8-9) Did you read the verses? We are Gentiles and ( Acts 21:25) says, "As touching the Gentiles which believe, we have written and concluded that they observe no such thing," check the context (verse 24). Also if you are keeping the sabbath, do you start your car on sunday (your spark plug starts a fire) or do you cook food? ( Exodus 35:2) "whosoever doeth work therein shall be put to death." Please read and then trust Christ alone to save you ( 1 Cor 15:1-4) will do the job. Amen.
