...But who are these 'more than conquerers' in a true sense of this chapter?
It should be noted that Paul spoke of all sorts of sufferings even death. He even mentioned that the present sufferings can not be compared to the future glory (for those who suffer now)
To me that does not mean competing with rock-stars for fame.It does not health and wealth.
Perhaps we should look at the people dying in jails in the islam countries to understand the true 'more than conquerers.I'm talking about people hunted, hungry, naked, shamed, rejected but not dejected.people holding firm their faith no matter what and shaming the devil in the process.these to me are the true more than conquerers.
As for Adam he was standing right there when Eve was conversing with the serpent so why didn't he speak up? Why didn't he say stop to Eve? Eve was wrong for listening but Adam was the one God originally spoke to and gave instructions to so more than likely he was the one to instruct Eve. Both were guilty, both put blame elsewhere rather than repenting right there and then to God who they knew was the one and only true God that gave them life.
Conservative Party policy?
James 5:14-15 "Are any among you sick? They should call for the elders of the Church and have them pray over them, anointing them with oil in the name of the Lord. And their prayer offered in faith will heal the sick, and the Lord will make them well. And if they have committed sins, these will be forgiven."
John 14:12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
Mark 16:17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;
Mark 16:18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.
What is the purpose of dressing? One, to cover our nakedness, Two, To be decent and moderate and be presentable. 2Cor,5:17 , If any man be in Christ .........Rom.12:1-2, I beseech you therefore brethren by the mercies of God........1John2:15-18,28.
Why do you put on what you are wearing? To cause others to stumble? To entice men or women? To show off? For these reasons and much more alike do the unconverted souls dress but not the heaven bound saints waiting for the appearing of the King of kings and the Lord of lords who will judge the quick and the dead at his appearing. Make sure you are one of these elects of the Lord.
"God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent:"
It seems like a Discrepancy ?
Joh 1:35 Again the next day after. In John, the account is given of the visit of the priests and Levites, sent by the Sanhedrin to John. "The next day" after this, John sees Jesus and points him out as the Lamb of God, giving a discourse of which, in Joh 1:19-34, we have a synopsis. On the "next day" after this, the third day after the deputation of the Sanhedrin, and the second after the return of Jesus from the wilderness, John stood, and two of his disciples. One of these two, we learn from Joh 1:40, was Andrew; the other, we have reason to believe, was John, the apostle.
Why does it seem like after Jesus's baptism, the next day he met 2 of his disciples?... and
where do you get that it implies or infers that
He had already been to the wilderness... why didn't he (or should I say John the Baptist mention the temptations)... or can we say that being taken up "in the spirit" put you in the
"Eternal Now" and that 40 literal days did not pass?...
Thanks and God Bless,
Thomas
Although God created man a little lower than the angels, he is befallen by the same thing that befalls every beast of the earth and that is death. In this regard only, man and beast are alike...they are born, they have the same basic needs (food, water, shelter, air), and they die (vs.19). But there is a spirit in man that God created in His likeness...an eternal spirit that is answerable to Him; a spirit that is created to worship Him; a spirit that must be born again by His Holy Spirit in order to inherit the Heavenly home the Lord prepares for those who love and obey Him.
God was well pleased with all of His creation but man alone has a soul that is atoned for by the work of the Lord Jesus Christ. I ask you, have you ever seen an animal be born again? Have you ever seen an animal worship the Lord? Have you ever seen an animal preach the gospel of Christ? God judges man, not animals, therefore, with animals, there is no "heaven to gain and hell to shun". They exist for God's pleasure and our enjoyment and use. If God has animals in Heaven it will be those He created in the beginning and in that heavenly place where sin does not enter and nothing or no one ever dies.
Let us not judge God's ways, much less tell Him that He is wrong. He is the creator and judge of all the earth. The question therefore of the spirit was not that "Who knows IF the spirit of man goes up and the spirit of beast goes down?" It is who can KNOW (have complete knowledge of) the spirit of the man which goes upward who can KNOW the spirit of the beast which goes downward to return to the earth(vs.21). God alone knows us full well.
Good and right are all the works of the Lord. He does and has done what pleases Him. Blessed be His name forever without end.
The problem is that John the disciple of Jesus denied that assumption in John 1:18.
Stephen joined John in his statement (Act.7:30,35,38,53), which cost his his life (acc. to Deut.ch.13.)
Paul jumped into the wagon at Gal.3:19.
And Jesus? He even accused the (murderous)God of Israel as the Devil ( John 8:43-44).
I will stick to Jesus' word, "he that seeth Me hath seen the Father" By induction: "He that called me had called the Father".
Therefore I will stick to my Savior's teaching, and leave out every other names, acc to Phil.2:9; stick to the Name of Jesus.
Glory to King Jesus!
