Another point on tithing is that the operation of a church facility the same as a temple back in those days requires either the proper goods (some used to tithe by giving of supplies needed i.e. wood, material for the drapes etc) and the priests needed to be cared for since this was their full time job. The temples had no chairs because the priests were continually working (or supposed to be) all the while they were in the temple. We are to support our facilities w/funds for electric, water, permits etc. as well as full time pastors. How is that done if people don't tithe?

Also remember we are giving unto the Lord the same as if you were putting it into His hands. What happens to the tithe once it leaves our hands we give it with the proper motivation in our hearts is between those who receive it and God.
  • Angel on Malachi 3 - 12 years ago
To answer anothers question about tithes, Jesus told us to render unto Ceasar that which is Ceasar's and unto God that which is God's. Also, we are instructed to tithe but we don't give to get and not all getting is $$. Sometimes what we receive is an answer to prayer, healing or a need that is provided. Too many teach tithing to get something. I questioned this myself but we can not manipulate God and besides if God tells us to give and He will bless us then it is a promise on HIS behalf not on us. God says He loves a cheerful giver so He wants us to give because we want to not grudgingly and not just to get something in return. Besides when we do for others we are immediately blessed in our hearts so aren't we immediatley blessed to give a portion back to God that He has blessed us with? Should we be selfish w/God's blessing us? That job, guess what, it came from God. He opens doors that we don't realize and that promotion or raise? Yep! God did that too. We tend to be too prideful and thing we do it all. God blesses us in ways we don't realize because we are too busy living life. Be thankful in all things.

I think it is sad that from the beginning we are weak. With all the other things at her disposal how could one "do not touch" item have so beguiled Eve. Why wasn't the walking and talking with God everyday enough? Why did the "you will be like gods" move her one way or the other.
I will say that for a time when there was perfectness in the garden of Eden, it had to have been beyond our wildest imagination.
As a follower of Christ Jesus, the only wise God, our Saviour, I am looking forward to the day when he returns to setup his eternal kingdom and he restores the world to it original purpose.
Even so come, Lord Jesus. AMEN!

I would like to comment on the question about the verse JOHN 15:13/14. You asked where the guidance to this is. He IS the guidance, he gave us the holy spirit to guide us. He never said it would be easy, you will be tested. Many will be called, but few will be chosen,. Many people will fall. Where I am from there are/were many brave souls who have laid there life down for their friends. It is a hard road, but keep your eye on the promise, God does NOT lie. In the beginning there was the Word and the Word was God, and the word became flesh. Think of that, he came to give us the truth and the way, he came to to sacrifice himself to save us and give us eternal life. Is that not worth sacrifising your old ways for? The more you read his word and try to live up to his commands, you will see and FEEL it is the way. He is the definition of LOVE.

We in todays society have neglected the house of the Lord by playing the "game" of Christianity but acting as Christians by following the teachings of Jesus. We are to be separate from the world meaning we shouldn't act like the world for it we act like the world then how will the world know we are different? We shouldn't use the same foul language, the same behavior whether it be to react with anger, bitterness or strife or following in the same sexual paths as the world or any other deviant behavior. We should be willing to take critism and even being mocked for we are not above our master, Jesus, who was mocked etc.

We have also stopped teaching properly in the churches and have not spoken of the Holy Spirit properly who is our power source to God and leads us in our daily lives and reveals the scriptures to us. We have not spoken of hell and the consequences of sin nor taught the proper message of the gospel of grace. Instead of proper teaching we have gone more social and pleasing words to tickle the ears of mankind. Is it no wonder people are turning from the church/body of Christ to the world?

If you have not seen Pauls gospel yet in this chapter, consider what he writes in the first 4 verses; Paul declares the gospel to the existing believers in Corinth which they had received and which they had taken a stand, and by which they were saved. Paul writes in verse 3,4. the gospel message that he had received ( Galatians 1:11,12.)Paul received this gospel from Christ himself. There should be no other gospel preached only Pauls Galatians 1:6-10. Do you see Pauls gospel?
Ephesians 1:13 says they heard the word of truth the gospel and believed and were sealed and saved. Christ died for OUR SINS was buried and rose again according to the scriptures;thats the gospel of your salvation.
  • Cvinceygirl on Hebrews 4 - 12 years ago
Paul is comfirming the rest(Sabbath)in Genesis at the end of creation when God rested from all His work. It is said that we no longer need to abide by the old testament law, but God forbid. If we need not to abide by the old testament law why then do we follow the law of the land? the law of the land is an adoptation of the commandments of God except for the forth commandment. That was change by the first pope of Rome. So the rest in Hebrews 4 is the rest that God has given to man after a long work week.
  • Timothy Wayne George on John 2 - 12 years ago
As Jesus asked the disciples who do men say that I am? Only Peter gave the right answer saying thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. Jesus is the Logos, the living Word of God, and the book he has given to us, the bible is full of stories all about Him. When you place you faith in the Lord Jesus Christ you are born again into the body of Christ, and baptized by the Spirit of God by fire. The Spirit of God takes the Word of God, and makes it real in your life. No prophecy is of any private interpretation, but holy men of God were moved by the Holy Spirit to write the Word of God for our edification. Pray to Jesus to open your eyes, and ears so that you can hear what the Spirit is saying to the Churches. May the Lord bless you, and keep you. For faith is our victory over this world.

Sleeapinggn state here does not mean just to close the eyes but also the act of negligence, ignorance etc
when there is something to correct and you ignore it or showing lack of concern to what you should get involved in, this are sleeping states.
Now, let me ask, between the baby that was born & the girl that turned prostitude or between the baby & the boy that turned rapist what went wrong?
The bible said "when men sleep his enemies came and sow tares" some of this sleeping state came from the part of the parents who had failed their responsilities on their children but instead gave them to another hands who inductrinated them with differen doctrines and made them vulnerable to different kinds of teaching all in the name of boarding & expensive school, house help, nanny, all in the name of lack of chance & laziness on the part of parents, "when men sleep" all these are sleeping states. Parents should wake up from their slumber even to their responsibilities.

    Nehemiah 13:1 On that day they read in the book of Moses in the audience of the people; and therein was found written, that the Ammonite and the Moabite should not come into the congregation of God for ever;
Deut. 23:3 An Ammonite or Moabite shall not enter into the congregation of the LORD; even to their tenth generation shall they not enter into the congregation of the LORD for ever: Judg. 17:6 In those days there was no king in Israel, but every man did that which was right in his own eyes.
Ezra. 1:2 Thus saith Cyrus king of Persia, The LORD God of heaven hath given me all the kingdoms of the earth; and he hath charged me to build him an house at Jerusalem, which is in Judah. And what we read in this book has more to do with rebuilding the walls. In the days of Moses, King David, Solomon and other we read that the presents of the Lord was so strong that the priests could not enter by reason of it, but this never happens in the days of Ezra and Nehemiah. The worst thing that happened here was their intent to separate themself from the heathens even putting away their wives and their children. But how could they put away their mothers for a thousand years? I think if we understand unto tenth generation and then to enter forever. Gal. 3:8 And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed. (Selah)

Mingling human races still produces human beings. This passage emphasizes an oddity. It is very interesting. With this present frontiers of science of robotics and nanotechnology, where are we heading? Where is the seed of the serpent spoken in Genesis?

Junel if you’re asking? It wasn’t recorded how long Adam may have lived in the Garden of Eden when he freely ate of the tree of life which made his flesh eternal, but when he was put out of the garden his flesh began to die which accounts for the 930 years even Noah Gen 9:29 And all the days of Noah were nine hundred and fifty years: and he died. Gen 9:1 And God blessed Noah and his sons, and said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth. And remember what died in the flood Gen 6:17 And, behold, I, even I, do bring a flood of waters upon the earth, to destroy all flesh, wherein is the breath of life, from under heaven; and every thing that is in the earth shall die. (wherein is the breath of life,) All things live on the earth, but not all things are eternal. Adam’s body died but his soul being a part of God is eternal Gen 2:7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. We are not all sons and daughters of Abraham but Gen 12:3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed. And Gen18:18 Seeing that Abraham shall surely become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth shall be blessed in him? And then Gal. 3:8 And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed. so how Long Adam Families Live, on Earth? We can’t know until the end, But even then Rev. 21:1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.

Re: Chimwamo. The author of the Rapture disagrees with you. Emmanuel Lacunza makes it quite plain that only Roman Catholics are to be raptured. As he is the author of the rapture who has the write to change what he state? Apparently pre-Millennialism does. People need to be well versed in Roman history in order to see these two beasts for what they are.

In answer to the questions about Genesis 6:17..and what about fish in the arc, the answer is in the text! " destroy all flesh wherein is the breath of life: from under heaven and everything that is in the Earth... Fish and underwater creatures would not be described as having BREATH of life?..and in the EARTH may be referring to dry land....
  • Kalimuzo Phillip on Acts 4 - 12 years ago
God exalted Jesus to the highest place and gave Him the name that is above all names which is JESUS and the Holy Bible says that *at the name of JESUS EVERY SHALL BOW AND EVERY TOUNGE CONFENCE THAT HE LORD*. So, why do people name themselves or their children *Jesus*?
  • Diane Jauber on Genesis 7:15 - 12 years ago
Does this mean that other people as well went into the ark in verse 7:15? They went with Noah into the ark, two and two of all flesh in which is the breath of life.

Not knowing it was a bride to her new husband, saying, "I am so in love that I feel faint and need some food and drink to regain my composure," I have been interpreting the quote to mean, "I am so love-sick (and so heartbroken) that I need the diversion of food and drink to make my thoughts go in other directions than my plight of unrequited love."

So I really missed the meaning! But, on reflection, if one didn't know the context, my earlier mistaken interpretation makes sense, n'est-ce pas?

  • Jonnie on Matthew 5:4 - 12 years ago
Blessed are they that mourn, for they shall be comforted, directly partnering with verses following, as well as those prior, reinforces the imminence of the reality that sin in fact, causes death, and Jesus, is the ONLY way to life. And as you see God, in your life, outworking through the Holy Spirit, revelation comes of what life was like, and how life ends for many daily, who choose to live without Him, knowing that indeed, God is good, gracious, and a giver of the type of mercy which endures forever. What else but tears can come from the blessed reunion between FATHER and sons/daughters?
  • Bobbie Zaremba on Genesis 5 - 12 years ago
When Cain slew his brother Able and was cursed by God because of it, the Bible states that he went to the land of Nod and 'knew his wife who conceived Enoch'..... my question is where did Cain's wife come from? So far, in the Garden of Eden, God created Adam and then Eve out of Adam. They had Cain and Able...(and later Seth.)... nowhere does the Bible talk about God creating anyone else. So I wonder where Cain's wife came from? And where did the land of Nod come from East of Eden??
