The rich young man asked Jesus what shall I do to enter the kingdom? He answered sell everything and follow me. It was the day he was going to Jerusalem. Of course any man would have to be totally crazy to give up everything to follow a beggar to persecution. Today that would be considered immoral and insane. I have done these things and now have become a beggar. I sold my Ferrari to pay for the debt I incurred going to Jerusalem. I sold my forty thousand dollar watch and everything that could make me appear rich. I now ride a bicycle and have to beg for a living. I can say that in my living envelope I have seen it all. I have now reached the kingdom. From here I can lift all of humanity to a better place, the kingdom of God.

Why is the Tabernacle mentioned to be set up without the camp in Ch. 33, when Chs. 35-40 the
materials for and the producing of the boards,
coverings, etc. were done and the dedication was done in ch. 40?

God's Word does not change, however times do. At the time of writing, men and women were wearing dresses. What was the distinct difference between the two? Today men and women wear pants, however the pattern or design is suited for each sex. Therefore, interpretation of the scriptures has to be given through the Holy Spirit, because what is acceptable for me may not be acceptable for you. This is why we have to be careful not to stumble one another with our opinions. God is coming back for the heart of his people. He is just and gracious to overlook such ignorance.

    @Rosalina

St. Paul explained clearly what "breaking bread" meant. 1 Cor 10:16 "The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not a participation in the Blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not a participation in the Body of Christ?" St. Paul continued, 1 Cor 11:27 "Whoever, therefore, eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of profaning the Body and Blood of the Lord." St. Paul in these words confirmed Catholic teaching that the "bread … of the Lord" is truly Christ's Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity, and that the "cup of the Lord" is the same substance: "Whoever … eats the bread or drinks the cup … will be guilty of profaning the Body and Blood of the Lord."

To Brian...dear brother...will not the God of the whole earth do right? God's very nature is one of love and mercy and He will take every single thing into account...there is nothing that is hidden from His view...His thoughts are not our thoughts and His ways are not our ways....God is way outside the realm of thinking of mortal man. Having said that, all scripture is profitable for doctrine, correction and instruction in righteousness and is God breathed. He gave every single word to the penmen. Your concerns should be given over to Jesus....trust in the Lord with all of your heart and lean not to your own understanding.

    @Rosalina (great discussions!!}
Ithink you are forgetting about the "laying on of hands"needed for authority to preach?
Deut 34:9, "And Joshua, the son of Nun was full of the Spirit of Wisdom; for Moses had LAID HIS HANDS UPON HIM: and the children of Israel hearkened unto him, and he did as the Lord commanded Moses."
Acts 6:6, "These they set before the apostles, and after they had prayed they LAID THEIR HANDS UPON THEM".
Acts 9:17, "...and LAYING HIS HANDS UPON HIM, he said, "Brother Saul, the Lord has sent me"
Acts 8:17, "Then they LAID THEIR HANDS ON THEM and they received the Holy Spirit."
Acts 13:3, "Then having fasted and prayed and LAID THEIR HANDS UPON THEM, they let them go."
2Tim 1:6, "For this reason I admonish thee to stir up the grace of GOD which is in thee, BY THE LAYING ON OF MY HANDS."
1Ti,m 4:14 "Do not neglect the grace that is in thee, granted to thee by reason of prophecy with the LAYING ON OF HANDS of the presbyterate." [PRIESTS]
Acts 1:20 For it is written in the book of Psalms: Let their habitation become desolate, and let there be none to dwell therein. And his bishopric let another take.
This same rite was practiced in the early Church and continues to this day, The Bishop, by the 'LAYING ON OF HANDS', conveys a succession of Priests and Bishops with a commission, giving them the authority to perpetuate the Church which Jesus Christ founded. Apostalic Succession & only one Church can lay claim to it. The Catholic Church

its not your body, dont do it. psychology studies relate that low self esteem and COWARDICE prompt people to get tatoos to exhibit "look at me Im tough" I gotta tatoo. Seriously! it is selfish craving attention when Jesus say become selfless. SPend the $200-$1000 dollars buying someone lunch instead. "why do you spend money on things other than food that sustains." Tatoos are just nasty. I always ask "Hey what did you go in for?"(prison) After being a cop for 17 yrs priorities of criminals are screwed up..tatoos,beer,drugs,cigarettes,big rims on my car, loud stereo,..forget feeding and providing for the children created in a drunken stupor...but look at my cool tatoo and my obama phone and food stamps. Why do you want to look like a ex-con? To instill fear in other people. thats the technique of the devil. Have a nice day. you cant eat that tatoo.but hey your cool and Im not. Jesus still loves you.

6:66 From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him.
the Jews were well aware of the laws against the consumption of blood. They understood Jesus was speaking literally, if not why would they walk away??? and why would Jesus let them walk away if they misunderstood Him ???

    Rosalina read on

6:51 I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the "BREAD" that I will give "IS MY FLESH", which I will give for the life of the world.
6:63 It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.
Jesus was not speaking about His flesh. Consider this, is the flesh of Jesus of no profit? What about His Incarnation ?How could he speak about his own flesh profiting nothing when he just said over and over ( John 6:51 etc)that His flesh is the life of the world just before telling them it profits nothing ? If Jesus was talking about his own flesh when He said the flesh profits nothing, then he would be contradicting Himself ! Jesus declares approx. 10x in John6 the need to eat his flesh and drink his blood and never once indicates his meaning is not literal. By emphasizing to them that what He said about His flesh & blood is "spirit & life" Jesus was dispelling the notion that all they should be concerned with is having flesh to eat for physical life

  • Sunday Israel Oyedokun on Matthew 6:6 - 12 years ago
If you patiently read that chapter with understanding, you will find out that Jesus Christ means when you are interceeding for somebody. That is why He said, "for they love to pray standing ....TO BE SEEN BY OTHERS." Then he said' "truely, they have recieved their reward in full."
And what is reward? Reward is a thing that you are given because you have done something good.
So interceeding for people in public means that you want people to speak well of you that you are kind instead of letting God to reward you.
  • Mwoso Derrick on 1 Samuel 17 - 12 years ago
This is one story in which an extra-ordinary faith was ehibited. We don't need armors, heavy shields, long spears, a great height, and so many voices backing us up, besides, God does not need a maltitude but me and you, the qtn is what do you have in your hands to overcome? we just need a burning faith, that small stone & sling in our hands, a small still and yet gentle spirit in our hearts, a hope that all hard situations come to an end, a peace of mind that when the whole world is barking at you, u can still sing a melody in your heart, a courage that you can overcome, a confidence that you can face whatever comes your way, a grace and salvation that you never bought, and an assurance that HE alone knows the good plans for your life. Be blessing wherever you go and in whatever you do.

Romans 10:15.....And how can people preach UNLESS THEY ARE SENT? [ who were sent and by whom and with what authority?] "SENT", as used in the Greek language of which the book of Romans was written, is apostello. [apostle]
John 20:21-23.....Jesus said to them again, "Peace be with you. As the Father has SENT me, so I SEND you." And when he had said this, he breathed on them and said to them, "Receive the holy Spirit. Whose sins you forgive are forgiven them, and whose sins you retain are retained."
[apostalic succession].... Romans 10:15.....And how can people preach UNLESS THEY ARE SENT? how do Non-Catholic preachers preach if they are not in the line of succession going all the way back to the Apostles???
Why would Jesus go through the trouble of giving the apostles this authority if He preferred the practice of personal confession direct to Himself?

John 6:51 I am the living bread that came down from heaven; whoever eats this bread will live forever; and the bread that I will give IS MY FLESH for the life of the world."
John 6:52 The Jews quarreled among themselves, saying, "How can this man give us "HIS FLESH TO EAT?"
John 6:53 Jesus said to them, "AMEN, AMEN, I say to you, unless you EAT THE FLESH of the Son of Man and DRINK HIS BLOOD, you do not have life within you.
John 6:54 Whoever EATS MY FLESH and DRINKS MY BLOOD has eternal life, and I will raise him on the last day.
John 6:55 For MY FLESH IS TRUE FOOD, and MY BLOOD IS TRUE DRINK"
John 6:56 Whoever EATS MY FLESH and DRINKS MY BLOOD remains in me and I in him.
Many argue that Jesus was really saying "this represents (not is) my body and blood." However, Aramaic, the language that Jesus spoke, had over 30 words for "represent," but Jesus did not use any of them. He used the Aramaic word for "estin" which means "is.
St. Ignatius of Antioch (35-109 A.D.) "Disciple of John," From Eucharist and prayer they hold aloof, because they do not confess that the Eucharist is the FLESH of our Savior Jesus Christ....just as where Jesus Christ is, there is the Catholic Church"

3 For what did Christ give Himself up? Does the Bible say it is the Bible?

  • Wallace Fetzer on Isaiah 49:20 - 12 years ago
What is the historical event that Isaiah is referring to when talking about losing the first child?
Is it Abel? Joseph sold into Egypt?
Can it be a future reference to the coming Babilonian captivity and destruction of Jerusalem....prophetic?
For me and my wife it was our first child that died her first day. Now we have 16 more and 11 are adopted. I believe this scripture is about adoption into Heavenly Fathers family where Kings and Queens carry them a d Seal them in the Temple.

As you said that there is nowhere in the bible that says sunday is the day of worship, and it is so also, but does that mean that the Sabbath day of rest that God has establish that poeple have the adosity to say that the Sabbath rest is sunday? It depends on what kind of work you are refering to also to help some one that need a help, some one came at your door and ask for a meal will u not prepare it for him, or go help someone that is il and there home is in a mess lack of there sickness will u not tidy that person house for them that it may be clean??? it all depends at the cituation of that moment. And sunday is not the day of rest that God had establish from the beginning of creation. Gen 2:3, Exo 20:8-10, Exo 34:21. there are many more texes in the bible consening the Sbth loook them up.God is a God that never changes and would not turn back on his words.
