No matter how deep in sin one may be; no matter what one may have done; no matter the place; no matter the time; no matter the 'who' or the 'whatever-it-may-be', whosoever shall call upon the name of the LORD shall be saved. And so even now He says "Behold I stand at the door (of your life and knock)". Will you hear and let him in? The choice is purely yours now.
  • Rev. Autrey on John 11 - 12 years ago
( John 11:51) "This prophecy that Jesus should die for the entire nation ..." Jesus could die for the sins of the world because he, himself, was God: "... and the Word was God." As the old church song goes, "Alas! and did my Savior bleed? Snd did my Sovreign die?"

What I am saying is, God knew that he was the only one who qualified to do this. Man could not do it because he was, himself, sinful. And no angel could do it because angels or incapable of loving us. Only God is love. And since there was no one greater than himself to appeal to, God decided within himself that it had to be him.

He made himself into a man, died and rose again, and thereby redeemed the human race. All creation looks at this event and wonders how it could be so. But it is so. And God is the only one qualified to do it.

The term "Son of God," then, is only the way God choose to identify himself when he was born as a human!
  • Fortune on John 6:68 - 12 years ago
I am realy touched by this chapter. It is regretable that many of Jesus' desciples left him when they failed to understand the eating of flesh and the drinking of Jesus' blood!!
Nevertheless, I am much encouraged by Simon Peter's answer on 6v68, when he indicated that they were there to stay;why? Because Jesus alone has taught them the words of eternal life and they believed Him.Even me today,I am here to stay, nomatter what mr devil do or say concerning my life!!!!! No, I am here to stay-Amen and Amen!!!!
  • Dale Dotson on Isaiah 29:13 - 12 years ago
This verse reflects lip service. Not a true heart for our Lord and savior. Churchs are full of people who have not sold themselves out for God. As the rich man who asks Christ...I have kept the commandments, what must I do to inherit eternal life? CHRIST said...Sell everything and follow me. Give everything to Christ. Don't be a make believer but a true follower of Christ.
  • Gary on Acts 16 - 12 years ago
OH! How important it is for us to remember to right ourselves in Christ Jesus when we find ourselves in a tough situation in this world. People are constantly watching Christians and how they respond to those situations in action and word! Are we a stumbling block to others by our action and word? We don't know who God has chosen to listen and learn from our faith in Christ Jesus. Though we as Christians may stumble daily, prayer and that dependance on Christ Jesus to help us through will prevail in his time not ours. Remember, our actions and words, even though we may not be aware of God's plan around us, may be an uplifting step to others in faith in Christ Jesus. My prayer for all is patience in Christ with joy and peace in your lives within your family. Only Christ, always in faith.
  • Sunshine on 1 Corinthians 11:14 - 12 years ago
I don't catch the revelation about this verse, because Samson had hair on his head and it brought glory upon him. How come it says it is a shame here when the word of God never changes? Please anyone who can explain this to me, kindly do. thanks
  • Concern Sister on Isaiah 47 - 12 years ago
This question is fro anyone out there that has theological knowledge or the holy spirit has given revelation about this text; especially verses 8-10. And also if someone attaches " I Am"
to their name, for example ( Will I Am) the secular artist, is this taking the name of the Lord in vain. This is the term God used to identify Himself to Moses when he ask who shall I say sent me to Pharaoh, and in other scriptures in the Bible. Could the word sorceries, also refer to Drugs as well as witchcraft? Thank you for your response. God Bless You!!!
  • Harold Caffee on Romans 8:28 - 12 years ago
Why do people ***ume that the "all things working together for good" is talking about something that happens to you or someone else that is bad? I think it's talking about spiritual things working together for our good if you are a child of God.....Think about all the things that belong to us as children of God....Salvation, the Name of Jesus, the Word of God, the Holy Spirit, prayer, Worship, Praise and the list goes on and on....Why ***ume he's talking about bad things happening to us....Surely, all bad things that happens to us can't all be good...The Devil stealing, killing and destroying us can't be working for our good..Jesus came to give us life...Now that's working for our good...
  • Samson on 1 Timothy 2:4 - 12 years ago
Its a good guide. Do you have a phone version ????
  • Arlette Dias on Psalms 56:11 - 12 years ago
I takes away your fear from power and authority that men have over us, the reason being that there is someone higher and greater than man looking after us, and that is the creator of this vast universe, how can man top that? He is a mere mortal in this creation, but we have faith that the Great Almigihty who lives forever will always be there for us, and we can trust him implicitly. Man who is finite and created by God, cannnot do anything to us when we live in Christ, the maker of this universe. The power of God is greater thatn the power of man. God Bless
  • Rev. Autrey on Romans 6 - 12 years ago
(Verse 15) "So since God's grace has set us free from the law, does this mean we can go on sinning?" It is basic and fundamental that we believe that Jesus is God. John 1:1:"... And the Word was God." John 8:24: "For unless you believe that I am who I say I am, you will die in your sins." This is so because it is the death of Jesus as God that sets us free. Paul makes this plain in 1 Timothy 2:3 when he referrs to Jesus as "God our Savior."

That is why good preaching is important. Because if we do not tell the people the truth, they will never know the real Jesus, and never come to salvation!
  • Rev. Autrey on Romans 6:2 - 12 years ago
(Verse 2) "Since we have died to sin." This means that if we are dead, legeally, we are no longer under sin's control. That is, sin has done its job and killed us. But how did we die? We died and were buried with Christ. Baptism pictures this. Going under the water pictures our dying with Christ to our old way of life, and coming up out of the water pictures Christ giving us a new way of life after we have been saved.

(Verse 5) "Since we have been united with him in his death, we will also be raised as he was." That is, Christ was our stand in. So when he died, in the eyes of the law we died, too. That is what Paul means by "our old sinful selves were crucified with Christ." So again, we are no longer slaves to sin because our old crucified self is dead. And by the power of God, a new self has taken its place.

So we should consider the old me dead, and live for God through the new me. And all of this came about by God's grace-his willingness to give us something we did not deserve.

This comment is in response to Kimutal's ? First of all ask God in prayer to lead you to the right place, where His word is really being taught. I'm hearing scriptures as I respond to you. Please get your Bible & read these scriptures to help.( Jeremiah 29:11-13) ( Psalm 32:8) ( Proverbs 3:5-6) ( Psalm 27:4-8)( Psalm 118:19-20) Pray these verses in your prayers and watch God lead & guide you to the right Church, Remind Him that He promised to give us Pastors after His own Heart.( Jeremiah 3:15) Hope these help. Love you with the Love of Christ!!
  • James on Matthew 25:40 - 12 years ago
In the context, it SEEMS like Jesus could be saying that whomever treats any DISCIPLE well in real need is helping him. It COULD be that Jesus is not speaking of all the poor, etc., who neither believe in Him nor care to attempt to do His will. What think ye?
  • Brenda on Genesis 1:3 - 12 years ago
I think many people put constraints on the power of God. He is God, He is all powerful. In Genesis 1:3 the source of the light was made by God, period. What does it matter that it was a different light source, other than the sun, moon, or stars that were created afterwards in day four? If you stop and think, there are still other sources if light today as we speak. One is lightning it is another natural source, and so is the light from a fire fly. So why is it inconceivable that God made another source of light before the sun, moon, or stars?
  • Concern Sister on Ecclesiastes 5 - 12 years ago
This comment is in response to Lois 9/19/2012; hope this will also help you understand about verse 3 of this chapter. I would like for you to read also ( Job 33:14-18). I think this scripture will help you to understand also that sometimes God is wanting to get our attention about things we may be doing or into that we should not; but we're not paying attention to those gentle nudges that comes; so He sometimes gets our attention through our dreams where there is less distractions so you can hear his voice. Now that what I got as I read ( Job 33:14-18). I pray that you will write down your dreams and then pray and ask God for the meaning of those dreams. Amen? Love you with the Love of Christ!!
  • Concern Sister on Ezekiel 13 - 12 years ago
In reference to Ezekiel 13:18-22; Now this just my conjecture I'm not a Bible scholar, but I sincerely believe that these verses may be referring to witchcraft & familiar spirits. It also reminds me of ( Jeremiah 5:31)( Jeremiah 23:23-32) ( Micah 3:6-8)( I John 4:1)(II Peter2:1-3)
Also search the scriptures so that you are aware of what the Word of God truly says, not even these words read those scriptures for yourself. Remember we are living in the days of great deception so it's vitally important for you to know God's word. Amen? Love you with the Love of Christ!!
  • Wayne on Exodus 22 - 12 years ago
Exodus 22:18 is inspirational. "Thou shall not suffer a witch to live." Very clear. What could be clearer? Typical Biblical wisdom.
  • John Barton on Matthew 21:21 - 12 years ago
Presumably, Jesus here is merely stating a scientific fact, rather than suggesting that it would be desirable for us all to have such faith.
Because St John says something similar, but in the context "Yes, faith can do anything, but it is worthless without love" (Charity, caritas, love):
"Though I have all Faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have no Charity, I am nothing." 1 Cor. xiii. 2.
James says that faith without works is worthless, but John's p***age implies that neither lead to salvation, but love does:
James 2:14 "What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can that faith save him? 15 If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacking in daily food, 16 and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, be warmed and filled,” without giving them the things needed for the body, what good[a] is that? 17 So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead".
  • Rev. Autrey on Hebrews 1 - 12 years ago
"... has spoken to us through his Son." The last time God spoke to us in direct words was when he spoke to John in the Book of Revelation. Since then (for nearly 2000 years) we have no direct words from him. And we will not. What I mean is, the Bible is closed, and God will not add to it. It is his last Will and Testament, his last set of instructions to us before his return.

He said in Revelation 22 through John: "And I solemnly declare to everyone who hears the prophetic words of this book. If anyone adds anything to what is written here, God will add to that person the plagues described in this book."
Claiming to hear Jesus speak to us in direct words is the same as adding to this book!

Here is something, then, you should understand. If it is not Jesus speaking to people today, who is it? The point is, Satan often pretends to be Jesus so he can give a false message to God's people. As people of God, we should always be on guard against this.

Paul says the same thing about adding to or changing the Gospel in Galations 1. "Let God's curse fall on anyone, including myself, who preaches any other message than the one we told you about. Even if an angel comes from heaven and preaches any other message, let him be forever cursed."

Let me say it again, the Bible is closed, and Jesus is not adding to it by speaking to anyone today, not even ministers. If we want to know what God's will (Jesus' will) for us is, we must look to the Scriptures.
  • Concern Sister on Psalms 127 - 12 years ago
This scripture is one of many that the Holy Spirit reveal to me that my heavenly Father is the one who has the control over my life; and there is no need for me to set up and worry, lose sleep, wear myself out trying to work it all out. It has taught me how to rest in God. After all He is the author and finisher of my faith. Another good scripture to reference this one with is (Psalm3 ) and ( Matthew 6:25-33). Rest in His care!! Amen?
  • Rev. Autrey on Matthew 16 - 12 years ago
Jesus asked the question, "Who do you say I am?" Peter answered, "You are the Christ, the Son of God." The word Christ or the anointed one had a special meaning to the Jews. They knew it to mean God Himself, who would come and deliver his people from their enemies. "But you, O Bethlehem Ephrathah, are only a small village in Judah. Yet a ruler of Israel will come from you, one whose origins are from the distant past." "And he will stand to lead his flock with the Lord's strength. ..." ( Micah 5)

Isiah said of him, "For a child is born to us, a son is given to us. And the government will rest on his shoulders. These will be his royal titles: Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God. ..." ( Isaiah 9:6)

Don't be confused by the term "Son of God." It is just the way God spoke of himself when he was born as a human.

So the good news is, God has come to save his people. And his name is Jesus the Christ.
  • Timothy Wayne George on Psalms 7:10 - 12 years ago
My defense is of Jehovah, who saves the upright of heart. Who is like unto thee, O thou great Jehovah? For thou hath never lost a case, therefore will my heart trust in thee. Satan the accuser of the brothers, does accuse us night, and day. Yet Jesus our advocate at the right hand pleads for us, my blood covers all their sins. There is therefore no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but according to the Spirit.
  • Charles on James 1 - 12 years ago
James and Paul give great instruction for the Christian life. James gives us some of the answers that all Christians have asked..."Where are the instructions on how I live this life every day?" Thank you for God's living and breathing word in James.
  • Concern Sister on Revelation 13 - 12 years ago
This text reminds me of an experience I had back in 2010; early one morning as I lay in bed I heard these words, " Deception Wears A Façade!" which also reminds us of what Jesus told His disciples in ( Matthew24) would be one of the major signs of the end of the age. So be sober & vigilant for our adversary the devil is on the loose. WATCH & PRAY Amen?
  • Concern Sister on Genesis 1 - 12 years ago
Hello Alan; here's what the scriptures say about your question. ( Psalm 8:1; also verse 3) Psalm 113:4, just to mention two. After reading these scriptures I have reason to believe that there are different dimensions of heaven, so if you're talking about where God is I don't think that's a good assumption according to these scriptures. Hope these help, they helped me. Pray For me Ok?
  • Concern Sister on Matthew 10 - 12 years ago
Welcome my sister Nora to the body of Christ! A joyful smile came on my face to hear of your conversion to Christ. Blessing and peace be unto you form our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! I also believe that the sword in this text is talking about the Judgment of God. I also believe that it is the Word of God personified in the person of Jesus Christ himself ( Revelation2:216) and others scriptures to validate this fact. Please also read ( II Thessalonians chapter 2). Be of good cheer for He (Jesus) has overcome the world! Amen? Love Ya!!

Oh I forgot to tell JOE V. about confession in verse 32 of Matthew 10. Perhaps this scripture will help ( I Timothy 2:5) also read ( Hebrews 4:12-16) ( I John 1:9). As for as verse 32 is concern I think here He's talking about our personal witness as a follower of Jesus Christ; we should be bold in our witness, and never ashamed of our true confession as a born again believer in our Lord Jesus Christ Amen? hope this helps. Love You with the Love of Christ!
  • Concern Sister on Revelation 3 - 12 years ago
Hello Michael, (Rev.3:16) In response to your ? I have to ask....Have you a born again believer? If so According to ( Luke 10:19) You have the power of God that's been given to you to overcome the temptations of everyday life; not that you're perfect, but you now by the Holy Spirit you have access to dumas power of God working for you. I think a great help would be to also stay in the word of God for strength daily. Avoid anything that you know is not pleasing to God wherever you may be. You are never alone He is always with you. Check out this scripture ( I Corinthians 15:33-34) as a reminder of who you are in Christ and that you represent him. YOU are a light in the workplace of darkness, let others be drawn to your light, don't be vacuumed into the negative! AMEN?
  • Cathy on Proverbs 4:7 - 12 years ago
Get wisdom, and keep on getting it filled with insight (understanding.) Knowledge alone doesn't help if you don't have wisdom, so acquire wisdom. Knowledge teaches you how to load a gun. But only wisdom would know when you should pull the trigger.. without that insight, you'd be a loaded gun, an accident looking for a place to happen! Get wisdom, and with all your getting, get understanding. How??? Through your spiritual relation with Christ. Let Him live richly in you, He will impart God's wisdom to you. He will make you wise. Obey Him, Listen to Him, and He will make you wise. Understand it's not your own thinking, it's His.
