Hence, the writer of Hebrews in it’s 4th chapter, the reminds the Church of God’s holy promises that are, in His covenant that we ensure that we live in accordance with the Word of the Eternal God. Why is this? It is that we can have what it takes to enter into the blessings of His promises; for therein, there is peace of mind and the type of rest that God has given for they that loveth Him.
However, this of a necessity demands the God kind of faith with particular regards to the doctrine of justification through the weaponry of faith. ( Romans 1:16,17)There are many implications to this- it then signifies that as believers, that believes, in the resurrected LORD, we must put our dependency on the living God, through Jesus Christ of Nazareth, the holy Son of God. And that is because, as the author and also the developer of our faith, He knows and understands what we may be going through; for He Himself, has been through it, hence the need for, total reliance on the faithfulness of God, and also on the infallibility of the Holy Scripture. Therefore, when we come to the throne of grace, we know with certainty, that we have a high priest in the God Head, who is ready and as a matter of fact has dispensed and made available His favours that we may obtain it through the tool of faith that honours God. Thus we have been admonished through this 4th chapter, that we may do according to the spirit of the Holy Writ, to the glory of God; for He is forever trustworthy.
And i believe the current crisis in Syria is described by God in Ezekiel 21;28-32.
28And thou, son of man, prophesy and say, Thus saith the Lord GOD concerning the Ammonites, and concerning their reproach; even say thou, The sword, the sword is drawn: for the slaughter it is furbished, to consume because of the glittering:
29Whiles they see vanity unto thee, whiles they divine a lie unto thee, to bring thee upon the necks of them that are slain, of the wicked, whose day is come, when their iniquity shall have an end.
30Shall I cause it to return into his sheath? I will judge thee in the place where thou wast created, in the land of thy nativity.
31And I will pour out mine indignation upon thee, I will blow against thee in the fire of my wrath, and deliver thee into the hand of brutish men, and skilful to destroy.
32Thou shalt be for fuel to the fire; thy blood shall be in the midst of the land; thou shalt be no more remembered: for I the LORD have spoken it.
Today's date is 25.08.12.
I've known it for over six months now!
I do not believe it's myth; not even technically myth (muthos). But that does mean I understand what the "sons of God" were or why there were giants or what significance the giants were to salvation, man's character, or God's intention in creation.
However, verse 5 tells us that God was finished with mankind and this gives us the explanation why. Man was corrupt to the extent that God was sorrowful and wanted to start again! It seems amazing but He did restart mankind via the flood scenario which was universal. Only 8 people survived the flood and they were far from perfect for they still contained within themselves the seeds of sin and proved this soon after the flood was over. ( Gen 9:21 Noah got drunk and naked and later the people built the Tower of Babel which God stopped and scattered the people. Gen 11:1-9.)
The doctrine of human depravity is clearly displayed here. It is clear that we have sinned and because we thus display that we all have a sinful nature, we need a sacrifice to appease God whose holy anger burns against us. This sacrifice was revelaed later in the Bible as Jesus Christ. Thank God for His indescribable gift! We all need Him as our Saviour and we need to repent and put our trust in Him.
Obviously one account cannot be true. You cannot harmonize these birth naratives without creating your own Gospel. No Gospel writer was a witness to this event.
See my Matthew 2 comments.
I have told him so.
There are many mysteries in the Gospel.
Many of them are for the future, some are for now.
What I do not understand is from
Matthew 10 verse 34.
Jesus could have called 10,000 angels to save him, however he died for you and me.
Why I ask, did he say that he did not come to send peace on earth but a sword?
Just a Question.
I mean no harm or confusion.
So all of the other Biblical translations before the KJV were NOT the word of God? You say this version “is the oldest copy of the word of God”. How can that be? The translators of the KJV used the Texus Receptus and other documents as a basis for their translation. What about the other Gospels and Books that were left out of the cannon? Men decided what was to be in the Bible.
While we are on Virgin birth, the correct interpretation is “Born of a Young Woman” (Issa 7:14). INFACT the KJV mistranslated the Hebrew. The study of the Bible via textual criticism by scholars has shown this interpretation to be in error. In Isaiah 7, the “young woman’ is living in the time of the prophecy.
How can all of the world be taxed? The taxation story is only in Luke’s Gospel. If so, you would think that the only other birth narrative would have mentioned this? As I have stated previously, the narratives of the Gospels of Luke and Matthew don’t match. They are two different versions of a birth event. Not to mention, why would you have to travel to be taxed? What was the hurry? It did not work this way in the 1st century. The taxation event has been historically proved to be by Cyrenius governor of Syria.
Jesus said he would return (21:23). This did not happen.
Why?
IS THE MESSIAH SPEAKING OF HIS SABBATHS?
Christ was born of the Virgin Mary? Do you believe that Caesar Augustus proclaimed all the world to be taxed? It is true the synoptic gospels are Matt, Mark, and Luke. The Bible is the verbal plenary inspired word of God. Written in Hebrew, Latin, and Greek. The King James was translated by 47 scholars of King James I in 1611, and is the oldest copy of the word of God. Paul said in I Cor.13 we see thru a glass darkly, but when he that is perfect shall come, we will know as we are known. All of the questions about the Bible will be answered when we are face to face with Jesus. Jesus came into this world to save man from his sin. He died on the cross, was buried, and the third day he rose from the grave. He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father, from which He will come again to judge the living, and the dead. Thank God that He gave you the Bible to study. Jesus said to search the scriptures, for these are they that testify of me. The Holy Spirit takes the word of God, and makes the scriptures real. If you have not received Jesus as your Savior, then you do not have the Holy Spirit abiding in you. Ask Jesus to come into your heart, and save you. He will, then you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit, and the veracity of the scriptures will be made known to you. So pray to the Lord: Ask, seek, and knock. The door will be opened for you. We are praying for you to make that decision. When Thomas put his hands into the nail prints of the Lord's side, he said my Lord, and my God. Jesus said blessed are you because you have seen. We are more blessed because we believe, and have not seen. When Jesus comes back, we will see Him as He is, and we shall be like Him.
