My question is why is there so much violence and hatred in gods commandments. Why doesn't god just come forth and wipe them out. Why doesn't he just appear himself? Doesn't make sense to me.
  • Saundra on Ruth 1 - 13 years ago
Isn't it awesome how GOD always plants someone without our life too comfort us when we need it most? Naomi's trials didn't begin until Ruth had already been firmly planted in her life. Having gone through some close family dealths I am a true testimony that GOD will never leave us without someone to comfort us. He will be ther 24 hrs. a day also. Naomi is an example that even when we have our doubts, GOD will stear us on the right path.
  • Samuel Kel on Joshua 13 - 13 years ago
Not just that Joshua should wake up but that we in this present dispensation should arise and preach the Woed and leave it, frowning at what God would frown at. We have been commanded in Mathew 28v18-20 to go out and spread the Word, it is a command not a suggestion from the Lord. How many are doing this and conquering lands (souls) for JESUS, how many compared to the millions of professed christians? We must wake up before it is nightfall.
  • Susan Dalton on Genesis 4:14 - 13 years ago
How do you know Cain? “Behold, thou hast driven me out this day from the face of the earth; and from thy face shall I be hid…” Cain went out from the presence of the LORD. He knew his wife, and she conceived and bare Enoch. Cain built a city and called it after his son: Enoch. How do you know if you are in the city Cain built? Do you see the face of the LORD? Is his face hid from the people there? Do they want you to hide the face of the LORD if you come to work or dwell in their city? If in such a city, the seed of the Lord are not to slay Cain; but, beware, the seed of Cain may slay the righteous seed; for the seed of Cain are hid from the face of the Lord and they hate to see the Lord in the face of His seed.
  • Delvin Scott on Job 2 - 13 years ago
Job; reminds us that our faith in God is more important than the things we have. problem is can he trust us to prove that point ?,todays christians are too materialistic.as for me my salvation is most important, and God allways best.Remember Matt. 6:19 -34

  • Albright Olajide on Hebrews 4 - 13 years ago
The Holy Scripture has all manner of dictates, precepts, notions and principles in it that has been given for whosoever believeth. As a matter of fact, God has no choice to do it like that, because, primarily He is the Creator of the Heaven and the earth- and also He created man in His image. Hence, when a person has given his or her life to Jesus Christ as LORD and Saviour, it then connotes that such a person has become not only joint heirs with the LORD, but also that he or she is an agent of righteousness on this planet earth to the glory of he Holy and righteous God.
Hence, the writer of Hebrews in it’s 4th chapter, the reminds the Church of God’s holy promises that are, in His covenant that we ensure that we live in accordance with the Word of the Eternal God. Why is this? It is that we can have what it takes to enter into the blessings of His promises; for therein, there is peace of mind and the type of rest that God has given for they that loveth Him.

However, this of a necessity demands the God kind of faith with particular regards to the doctrine of justification through the weaponry of faith. ( Romans 1:16,17)There are many implications to this- it then signifies that as believers, that believes, in the resurrected LORD, we must put our dependency on the living God, through Jesus Christ of Nazareth, the holy Son of God. And that is because, as the author and also the developer of our faith, He knows and understands what we may be going through; for He Himself, has been through it, hence the need for, total reliance on the faithfulness of God, and also on the infallibility of the Holy Scripture. Therefore, when we come to the throne of grace, we know with certainty, that we have a high priest in the God Head, who is ready and as a matter of fact has dispensed and made available His favours that we may obtain it through the tool of faith that honours God. Thus we have been admonished through this 4th chapter, that we may do according to the spirit of the Holy Writ, to the glory of God; for He is forever trustworthy.

  • Håvar Støversten on Ezekiel 21 - 13 years ago
I believe Syria is part of Ammon,
And i believe the current crisis in Syria is described by God in Ezekiel 21;28-32.

28And thou, son of man, prophesy and say, Thus saith the Lord GOD concerning the Ammonites, and concerning their reproach; even say thou, The sword, the sword is drawn: for the slaughter it is furbished, to consume because of the glittering:

29Whiles they see vanity unto thee, whiles they divine a lie unto thee, to bring thee upon the necks of them that are slain, of the wicked, whose day is come, when their iniquity shall have an end.

30Shall I cause it to return into his sheath? I will judge thee in the place where thou wast created, in the land of thy nativity.

31And I will pour out mine indignation upon thee, I will blow against thee in the fire of my wrath, and deliver thee into the hand of brutish men, and skilful to destroy.

32Thou shalt be for fuel to the fire; thy blood shall be in the midst of the land; thou shalt be no more remembered: for I the LORD have spoken it.

    Today's date is 25.08.12.
I've known it for over six months now!
  • Debbera on Genesis 6 - 13 years ago
I believe God told Cain in Genesis 4:7 what his end would be. If thou doest well, shall thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall he his desire, and thou shalt rule over him. I believe this is why Jesus kept on impressing on Peter asking him do you love me. When Jesus started to wash the feet of his disciples Peter told him not my feet Lord. Jesus told him if I wash not your feet you have no inheritance with Me. Peter said wash my hands, every part. The Lord told just your feet.
  • RAY MCKENDRY on Genesis 6:5 - 13 years ago
I think Gen 6:5 is a text that comes from before the fall and before the promises made to Noah and mankind by God regarding Him not destroying the earth via a general flood again. ( Gen 9:11) Gen 6:5 is a difficult verse to interpret because of its context which includes "sons of God" and "giants on the earth" (NKJV). Why does this make any difference? Simply because Bible critics have always thought it falls into the realms of "myth." As they say Gen Ch.1-11 do!
I do not believe it's myth; not even technically myth (muthos). But that does mean I understand what the "sons of God" were or why there were giants or what significance the giants were to salvation, man's character, or God's intention in creation.
However, verse 5 tells us that God was finished with mankind and this gives us the explanation why. Man was corrupt to the extent that God was sorrowful and wanted to start again! It seems amazing but He did restart mankind via the flood scenario which was universal. Only 8 people survived the flood and they were far from perfect for they still contained within themselves the seeds of sin and proved this soon after the flood was over. ( Gen 9:21 Noah got drunk and naked and later the people built the Tower of Babel which God stopped and scattered the people. Gen 11:1-9.)
The doctrine of human depravity is clearly displayed here. It is clear that we have sinned and because we thus display that we all have a sinful nature, we need a sacrifice to appease God whose holy anger burns against us. This sacrifice was revelaed later in the Bible as Jesus Christ. Thank God for His indescribable gift! We all need Him as our Saviour and we need to repent and put our trust in Him.
  • Yochanan on John 1 - 13 years ago
Bebopp. Surely your words are of none else but of someone who never believed in or even understood the faith contained in the bible. I never liked the church much myself either. But if you read the bible where is the churched ever mentioned as an institution of gods law? Where does it say that you should act like or listen to priests? The bible surely is of god but the church surely is not. Some churches might be lead by men and women of faith, some congregations surely have faithful men and women in them. But some or even many might not have a true faithful soul in them. Just cause you go to church doesn't make you free from sin. Anyone who sins knows this. But true faith leads away from sin. Read 1john2 1john2 and 1john3 and understand the message. Understand that truth and gods command only can be found in your own heart. You shouldn't listen to the world, but to your heart, your soul, the spirit god has given you. Your heart knows whats right, so feel it. And only people that are of strong will and righteous character can be people of real faith. Read the following verses. Matthew 24:5, Matthew 7:22-23. Luke 21:8 Mark 13:6. Who do you think they speak of? What does your heart tell you in this matter? So follow your heart in truth and righteousness.

  • Robert McNutt on Job 1 - 13 years ago
I once looked to the sky,.. and asked. God,.. what's up? I'm walking the path, and everything is falling apart. So,. I decided to open the bible and drop my finger on a random page. As I had done ,.. once before and I fell on the story of Job. I read it and imidiately understood... That,.. even the most perfect person, in the eye's of god,.. will and most likely be hampered by the devils dealings. This is inevidable,. for evil walks amoungst us. So... One: you can get depressed,. angry and scoff at God or Two: Have faith,.. keep the faith in God,.. who will help in due time. Remember,.. Patience is a virtue.
  • Doubting Thomas on Luke 2 - 13 years ago
The previous comment says that Jesus is in the Davidic lineage through Joseph. I thought that Mary was impregnated by the Holy Spirit not Joseph. This comment harmonizes two different Gospel accounts of the same event. I am asking why Matthew and Luke's Gospel differ? The lineage of Jesus as stated in these two Gospels differ. The events stated differ.

Obviously one account cannot be true. You cannot harmonize these birth naratives without creating your own Gospel. No Gospel writer was a witness to this event.

    See my Matthew 2 comments.
  • Jeff Hopkins on Matthew 10 - 13 years ago
I believe in the Lord Jesus Christ.
    I have told him so.
There are many mysteries in the Gospel.
Many of them are for the future, some are for now.
What I do not understand is from
    Matthew 10 verse 34.
Jesus could have called 10,000 angels to save him, however he died for you and me.
Why I ask, did he say that he did not come to send peace on earth but a sword?

    Just a Question.
I mean no harm or confusion.

I have a large 1611 KJV and in the footnotes it does have God's name, Jehovah. However, that Bible is too large and heavy to carry around with me. Is this new version of the KJV in print and how can I order it? Really excited about this!!!

    RE: RE: Timothy Wayne George

So all of the other Biblical translations before the KJV were NOT the word of God? You say this version “is the oldest copy of the word of God”. How can that be? The translators of the KJV used the Texus Receptus and other documents as a basis for their translation. What about the other Gospels and Books that were left out of the cannon? Men decided what was to be in the Bible.

While we are on Virgin birth, the correct interpretation is “Born of a Young Woman” (Issa 7:14). INFACT the KJV mistranslated the Hebrew. The study of the Bible via textual criticism by scholars has shown this interpretation to be in error. In Isaiah 7, the “young woman’ is living in the time of the prophecy.

How can all of the world be taxed? The taxation story is only in Luke’s Gospel. If so, you would think that the only other birth narrative would have mentioned this? As I have stated previously, the narratives of the Gospels of Luke and Matthew don’t match. They are two different versions of a birth event. Not to mention, why would you have to travel to be taxed? What was the hurry? It did not work this way in the 1st century. The taxation event has been historically proved to be by Cyrenius governor of Syria.

Jesus said he would return (21:23). This did not happen.

    Why?

Re: Doubting Thomas, Do you believe that Jesus
Christ was born of the Virgin Mary? Do you believe that Caesar Augustus proclaimed all the world to be taxed? It is true the synoptic gospels are Matt, Mark, and Luke. The Bible is the verbal plenary inspired word of God. Written in Hebrew, Latin, and Greek. The King James was translated by 47 scholars of King James I in 1611, and is the oldest copy of the word of God. Paul said in I Cor.13 we see thru a glass darkly, but when he that is perfect shall come, we will know as we are known. All of the questions about the Bible will be answered when we are face to face with Jesus. Jesus came into this world to save man from his sin. He died on the cross, was buried, and the third day he rose from the grave. He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father, from which He will come again to judge the living, and the dead. Thank God that He gave you the Bible to study. Jesus said to search the scriptures, for these are they that testify of me. The Holy Spirit takes the word of God, and makes the scriptures real. If you have not received Jesus as your Savior, then you do not have the Holy Spirit abiding in you. Ask Jesus to come into your heart, and save you. He will, then you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit, and the veracity of the scriptures will be made known to you. So pray to the Lord: Ask, seek, and knock. The door will be opened for you. We are praying for you to make that decision. When Thomas put his hands into the nail prints of the Lord's side, he said my Lord, and my God. Jesus said blessed are you because you have seen. We are more blessed because we believe, and have not seen. When Jesus comes back, we will see Him as He is, and we shall be like Him.
  • Garyloyd on Revelation 3 - 13 years ago
Someone told me Rev.3:10 was where they get to fly away. This verse is speaking of the "elect". They escape because they were sealed with the truth and didn't bow down to instead of Christ, or antichrist. This is not speaking of a church someone belongs to. It is an example of a great church to attend. But God`s set a side ones, "Church" will be here. All will changed in a twinkle of an eye. The Lord Jesus only comes at the LAST TRUMP! When antichrist gets here just pinch yourself, hurt, your flesh. If Gods Chosen children are going to be here to stand against satan as it is written how can the rapture people think they will fly? They say, why we don't have to read Gods Revelation we`ll all be gone. Yup! You will be gone if you don't read Gods words.
  • Faith Matsuoka on 1 Thessalonians 5:3 - 13 years ago
It seems to me, as I study, that "Peace and Safety" will come after a time of war. And I feel that it will be when the Anti-Christ comes on the scene and promises it. And then the Tribulation begins. What do you think?
