My question is with the what had done when He had "blessed" them ... To bless is to kneel in adoration. Did God kneel before us ? And what is it that specifically could define Blessed in this context.

it is weird how suddenly a people can unite over something as unpredictable as CHIC FILET,911,and aurora ,colorado.worldly catastrophies too.WOULDNT it be nice to see more unity without all the catastrophies that have to bring people together?
  • Simon van Wyk (Snr) on Luke 16:9 - 13 years ago
I think Jesus meant that, embrace the riches of this world (unrighteousness mammon) which will enable you into the privilege of tithing, giving to the poor, give generously to those in need, clothe them, buy them food. Using the earthly wealth to serve God so that the seed you have planted on earth (as per the book of Revelation) where we will be judged by the works we did as it is written in the second book of our deeds) Therefore this wealth would have opened an opportunity to us to serve God with it hence the good works and fruits that emanated from the unrighteousness mammom will welcome us into everlasting habitation. See verse 11' it says if you cannot be trusted with the unrighteousness mammon how can you be trusted with the holy incorruptible wealth in heaven?

Isaiah 9:6 Tell us his name shall be called wonderful counsellor,The Mighty God everlasting Father prince of peace.God said in ( Isaiah 43:19) Behold I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth shall ye not no it? well I guess that being proven. As far as Christ being a man and God at the same time and not! being able to govern the Universe that's a misconception of the human mind. Jesus said to Nicodemus a man who was confused like many here today StJohn 3:12 If I have told you of earthly things and you believe not how shall you believe if I tell you of heavenly things and no man hath ascended up to heaven but the same that came down from heaven even the Son of Man which IS IN HEAVEN!!hello. The Bible dose not say God the Son because The Godhead is not divide because the Son is only the (Word) which is God's prophetic description of himself which he incarnated into flesh. Not another person!! bur the expressed image of his!! person.Hebrews1:3( John 14:9-11) Jesus did not say he that seen me hath seen God the Son he said hath seen the Father ( Colossians 2:9 for in him dwells all the fulness of the Godhead bodily Christ is not a fallen man like us. We can't limit what he can do; because of what we! cant do or don't understand that's why 1Tomothy 3:16 say's its a mystery. Not every one will understand; that's the book that is called the Revelation of Jesus Christ says blessed is him that readeth and understands.( Philippians 2:19)say who being in the form of God thought it not robbery to be equal with God; But made himself of no reputation and took upon him the form of a servant. Yes he dose pray to his own spirit Deity!( Ephesians 1:9 says Having made known unto us the Mystery of his will according to the pleasure which he purposed in himself. Hello!!11th verse who worketth all things after the counsel of his own will.( Isaiah 40:10)Behold the Lord God will come with a strong hand and his arm shall rule for him. verse 13 who hath directed the spirit of the Lord; or being his counsellor hath taught him? with whom took he counsel Who instructed him and taught him in the path of Judgment and taught him Knowledge, and taught to him the way of understanding. Matthew 11:27 All things are delivered to me of my Father and no man knoweth the Son but the Father neither knoweth any man the Father save the Son and HE to whom THE SON WILL REVEAL HIM. So there you no nothing of the father but what Jesus has revealed blessed is he that readeth and understands.

To be a wise woman is priceless in the society that we live in today. Knowing and seeking what the Lord's will is for my life is what wisdom is all about.Asking for wisdom then using it as I go about my daily activties...Lord where should I shop for the best prices for my household, which way do I go? Even in the smallest areas the smallest detailes of my life I ask the Lord for wisdom to be lead in a plain path.
  • Elder Vann on Colossians 1:15 - 13 years ago
According to to all these Bible scriptures and the Hebrew prophets there is no Son of GOD who is not also! GOD(Hebrews1:6-13) because if he is not God manifest in the flesh then he's not the son of God either ( 1Timothy 3:16) Psalms 100:2 says know ye that the Lord he is God" How many Gods do you think there are? To say that Jesus is separate from God contradicts the words of Jesus himself (StJohn10:30) even the Devil knows there's one God and trembles, to believe there's more than one God is to be a heathen(Deuteronomy6:4 (James2:19) ( Isaiah 9:6_(40:3..6(44:6..8)(45:20..23)(Psalms110) Revelation 22:3..5 tells us int the end there is no more curse but the throne of God and of the Lamb is in it that concludes the whole prophetic word of redemption, once the son ship is over! Jesus Christ in his eternal glory is the eternal God.

I believe the purpose of the command was to remove all temptation from the Hebrews. We know in history that the Hebrews did not follow the command. So, can we ask the question - Could the problems in the Middle East today have been avoided had the Hebrews obeyed God and killed every living thing in Cannan back in the day?
  • Roxanne on Genesis 18:25 - 13 years ago
My niece, Jillian, passed away at the tender age of 20 years old seven years ago. At the service I remember praying for her, crying out to go to be merciful and asking him if it be possible that she be with him in heaven. He spoke to me and his response was very clear... Shall not the Judge of all the earth do that which is right? At the time I was not sure exactly where I had read that but later I learned that those were the very words spoken to Abraham. I shall never forget that moment and be amazed at how the Lord answers our prayers if only we will stop and listen.
  • Grant on Revelation 1 - 13 years ago
People! Does it matter if he was Black, White, Jewish, or Greek?? NO! It all boils down to is Jesus was GOD manifest in flesh. And all that matters is that he died for you and I. So we could stand befor him on judgement day unspotted, without blimish. If we accept his forgivness, and live out the life God has predestined for us.
  • Magnus on Romans 13 - 13 years ago
So, are we not allowed to resist injustice and persecution and undemocratic regimes? Are we not allowed to protest about the fact that £13 trillion are stashed away in off-shore tax-free havens by the world's rich and poweful, while the vast majority of the world's peoples are struggling along as best they can. Am I not allowed to detest what Cameron ond Osbourne and CLegg and Co are doing, while they themselves enjoy lives of arrogant ease and comfort with their millions? And Mitt Romney with his billions built on the back of asset-stripping and exploitation? This chapter seems to be telling us to accept the status quo on earth. I will never ever do that.
  • Trent on Revelation 1 - 13 years ago
To set the record straight: Jesus was a Jew. He was of Jewish race, and his skin color like any other Middle Eastern Jew, including today. So, if you're curious what skin color that is, it's probably not black and probably not totally white either. You can travel there today and see for yourself.

In Revelation, the vision was of the Son of Man having hair that was white as snow. It isn't logical to say that because his hair was white as snow and like wool then the only option is for him to be a black man with white hair. It also says in the same verse 14 that he eyes were as a flame of fire, does that mean he's a dragon too? Of course not, nor does it necessarily mean he's a black jew. And keep in mind Revelation involves heavenly dream-like visions- not necessarily the way things are seen on Earth, such as Jesus' appearance when he was here.
  • Jd on Revelation 1 - 13 years ago
ok, in the 14&15 verses lets u know that Jesus Christ is a black man. "White like wool" black people have wooly hair. "Feet like brass as if they burned in an oven" brass is already a brown color so when it is burnt it will turn black, letting u know his feet r a very black. u got to explain the details those details were not mentioned,I wonder y? It is plain & simple crystal clear.

    (Shane's comment on 10/26/2010)

    Shane,

I may be of some help. To take the LORD's name in vain has nothing to do with titles like god or lord. They are titles. To take the LORD's name in vain is in Proverbs 30:9 Lest I be full, and deny thee, and say, Who is the LORD? or lest I be poor, and steal, and take the name of my God in vain. We take GOD's name in vain when we claim to be a follower but do contrary to His word. I hope this gets to you and is of some help. Be blessed my friend. :-)
  • Steve on 1 Samuel 20 - 13 years ago
No this was no gay relationship. This particular area of scripture is one that the homosexuals use to try to justify their sinful relationships.God would never allow sin of any kind to be used as a justification for doing wrong. It is simply a close relationship between two people. Haven't you ever had a really close friend and you were friends and you loved one another very deeply? I'm thankful tha folks can have true loving relationships in their lives where one holds the other far above themselves.

  • Doubting Thomas on Luke 2 - 13 years ago
Steve's comment says "if the Bible says that something happened then it happened". Then why do the accounts of "Luke" and "Matthew" differ? This testimony is all hearsay and the gospel writers (who are NOT eyewitnesses) can't keep their stories straight! There is NO proof that Nazareth was even a town in the 1st century CE. Jesus being born in Bethlehem in fulfillment of the scriptures is not prophesying! I could go on and on. People, demand better evidence before committing yourself to a untenable belief. As was said by Mark Twain “faith is believing in something that just ain’t so”.
  • Jacques on Matthew 28 - 13 years ago
Let us look again at what Jesus says.

Verse 18: And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.

19: Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the NAME of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

20: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

Jesus says, "ALL POWER is given unto ME in heaven and in earth. In verse 19 He says "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the NAME" . *Not names* ..

Isaiah 9:6 For unto us a CHILD is born, unto us a SON is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The MIGHTY GOD, The EVERLASTING FATHER, The Prince of Peace.

    Jesus says in Revelation 1:8

8 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the ALMIGHTY.

Isaiah 44:6 Thus saith the LORD the King of Israel, and his redeemer the LORD of hosts; I am the FIRST, and I am the LAST; AND BESIDE ME THERE IS NO GOD.

    Jesus says in Revelation 1:11

1:11 Saying, I am Alpha and Omega, the FIRST and the LAST:

    1 Timothy 3:16
3:16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: GOD WAS MANIFEST IN THE FLESH, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.

Jesus says in Luke 24:47 And that REPENTANCE and REMISSION OF SINS should be preached in HIS NAME AMONG ALL NATIONS, beginning at Jerusalem.

48 And ye are witnesses of these things.

49 And, behold, I SEND THE PROMISE OF MY FATHER UPON YOU: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.

As we go into the book of Acts we find almost immediately the promise being fulfilled. And let me clear this scripture up.

Ephesians 4:5 ONE Lord, ONE faith, ONE baptism,

6 ONE God and Father of ALL,

John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

2 The same was in the beginning with God.

John 1:14 And the Word was made FLESH, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

15 John bare witness of him, and cried, saying, This was he of whom I spake, He that cometh after me is PREFERRED BEFORE ME: for HE WAS BEFORE ME.

    Now back to Acts 1:5

Jesus says in Vs. 5 : For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost NOT MANY DAYS HENCE.

Acts 2:1 1 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.

2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.

3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.

4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

Read the rest of chapter 2 and how men mocked and said " these men are full of new whine" but Peter stood up with the eleven.

Acts 2:13 Others mocking said, These men are full of new wine.

14 But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and said unto them, Ye men of Judaea, and all ye that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and hearken to my words:

After you read through to vs 37 says the men were pricked in there hearts and asked what shall they do?!

Acts 2:37 Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?

Peter tells them what Jesus told him to preach unto ALL nations.

Luke 24:47 47 And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in HIS NAME among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the NAME of JESUS Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

I hear and understand what being said. But what gets my is why did they change the names in the Bible? ACTS chapter 4 verse 12 neither is there a name giving under Heaven among men whereby we must be save. that name can't be jesus! i've read and researched Maryam was her name not mary.she was a hebrew. we must ask ourselves why would the malak come down and give her a latin or greek name for her child? and we also no the letter J wasn't in the alphet and if they called him Joshua in the old why not call him Joshua in the new? what do we get when we call upon jesus and we do most christain worship him? be it anyone can show unto me in the text where he said to worship him or to call him god. why do we think the Father is the son when he said I come in my Father's name YHWH i've ask a many i which i believe i know the answers just want to hear what other's have to say.

  • Mike on 3 John 1:2 - 13 years ago
I think this is John's greeting. Isn't suffering how our soal grows and is sculpted. If we are unhealthy, are we unworthy, or lack in faith? Can anyone translate this as God promising all of us that we will not be subject to health and financial trials if our faith is great. Faith is strong but we still need perseverance through trials so we are not lacking anything, right?

  • Wayne Denning on Matthew 24:13 - 13 years ago
This is a wake up call! I am very disappointed that "Christians" have tucked their salvation experience in their pocket and gone off to become one of the guys in the world. When Christ promised eternal life he used verbs that were assuming the believer would stay on the path (you know, the straight and narrow one.)

If you buy a car and throw away the manual, not following the manufacturer's stipulations, you void your warraanty. How much more true is it in the case of our redeemer? I am speaking of the persons who really had a true conversion experience, were sorry for their sins and really meant it when they said they would follow Christ. However, following the conversion, we are still allowed access to the steering wheel. It's called free moral agency. Unfortunately, many with the real thing look left and right and like what they see in this world. We are instructed to be in the world and not of the world. That's not hard to understand. Is it?

Right now, so many believers have dropped their guard and this includes ministers and are in real danger of missing the reward they were once sure of and of course hell is the "default." Narrow is the way - and few there be that find it. Even so, come quickly Lord Jesus.
  • J S on Genesis 1:1 - 13 years ago
Traditional science did not accept the idea of no beginning and no end, since this universe has cycles, and since is based on observable/measurable observations, etc.. If God is transcendental of this universe (or any other we may or may not be aware of) then God has no beginning or end. When considering the infinite, in all aspects (whether it be of this universe, multi-verses, other dimensions, etc.) one could say God is the existence of all and none since these terms are used to describe physical things, God cannot be defined as such.

Our comprehension is too limited to even consider we understand (what we define as) 'God', and to say otherwise is like asking a caveman what and how a computer works (as an analogy of understanding). Even sci-fi of today has a concept of 'advanced beings' visiting less advanced beings, and to a cave man, could be considered 'Gods', however this is a limited view that has its origins of what God may be. Ultimate awareness, consciousness, infinite in all aspects perhaps. How can God be classed as a single identity? Its a rhetorical question that needs no answer, but leading to a limited conception of a fundamental aspect that we cannot possibly comprehend. Thus faith is born. Faith could be considered a belief in something we cannot possibly understand or comprehend. Science seeks to understand the universe through detectable/replicated fact, and as such is a never ending search for knowledge. If God is infinite in all aspects, not just knowledge, then one could say that science is an attempt to understand God with a never-ending search of infinite truth by using a finite knowledge system.

Amos 2 makes me wonder, how long will the LORD wait before He really judges America? I don't long for this day, but surely we are no better than Israel.
