The centurion is won for the benefit of Caesar. Our centurion is in Capernaum, viewed by many as a benevolent man. He has authority, given from Rome. Watching this little town off the coast of Galilee.

Authority seen and understood without question, and as such in this appointment, one must keep himself in all ways, a representative of such power! Directing and keeping the peace!

He would be no stranger of the upheavals, and recklessness of man, the false perceptions that would create the next rumor.

He is what we would call a tough guy! A "precinct captain" perhaps? One who knows the ropes, knows who to rely on, and who not to rely on! While, knowing the significance of His power, and the heart of such power!

He knew the Jews, and He would indeed become the instrument of God to prove the power of God, in and through this man called Christ! The Savior of the world, the prophesied one!

The centurion knew who Jesus was and is. He knew His authority! Authority given from God!

This centurion's faith would shine from His doorway, he would reveal before this little town, who He was! Be assured everyone who knew the centurion would hear His words "speak the word only and my servant shall be healed"!

The power that is given, is given to those who believe. A faith from the heart, a heart that knows Jesus will do as you ask! A power that is from above and not beneath. Holy pure love, for the world to see! Can you see His authority?

Do you see Him standing at the end of your path?

Are you convicted or conflicted! The words you hear, are they rumors, or the truth? Is this the one, the Christ!

Is This One, who will do as you ask.

    Hi Pander Rue,

"on Matthew 25:34 So Jesus recommends usury? Considering that he drove the money lenders from The Temple with knotted cords I consider this to be Apocryphal."

Thanks for your comments on this platform. May I ask for a clarification of what you meant by "...I consider this to be Apocryphal." Thank you very much.

God bless you and everyone of this platform.

    I am a truth seeker.

And the following comments are not intended to cause contention but rather create a discussion in the contents and passages within the Bible.

And, I, being a believer of the Book of Mormon and a seeker of the truth, believe the words of God to Ezekiel are speaking of the coming forth of the Book of Mormon and I'm interested in your thoughts

Moreover, thou son of man, take thee one stick, and write upon it, For Judah, and for the children of Israel his companions: then take another stick, and write upon it, For Joseph, the stick of Ephraim, and for all the house of Israel his companions: ( Ezekiel 37:16)

Say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will take the stick of Joseph, which is in the hand of Ephraim, and the tribes of Israel his fellows, and will put them with him, even with the stick of Judah, and make them one stick, and they shall be one in mine hand. ( Ezekiel 37:19)

And join them one to another into one stick; and they shall become one in thine hand. ( Ezekiel 37:17)

And I will make them one nation in the land upon the mountains of Israel; and one king shall be king to them all: and they shall be no more two nations, neither shall they be divided into two kingdoms any more at all: ( Ezekiel 37:22)

The stick of Judah and the stick of Joseph becoming on stick to gather Isreal.

The writings of the prophets in the Book of Mormon (1 Nephi 5:16) knew there genealogy being from the tribe of Joseph.

Therefore, with much certainty, the book of Judah is the Bible and Book of Mormon is the stick of Joseph, I believe.

    What are your thoughts?

Furthermore, Isaiah also saw the coming forth of the Book of Mormon saying,

And the vision of all is become unto you as the words of a book that is sealed( Isaiah 29:11)

And in that day shall the deaf hear the words of the book, and the eyes of the blind shall see out of obscurity, and out of darkness. ( Isaiah 29:18)
  • Paul - 2 years ago
Certainly, the Bible talks about lost/missing Scripture.

The book of Nathan the prophet, the book of Gad the seer. ( 1 Chronicles 29:29)

The epistle from Laodicea ( Colossians 4:16)

And of the things which Jesus did, John said if they should be written every one, I suppose even the world could not contain the books that should be written. ( John 21:25)

Wherefore it is said in the book of the wars of the LORD, What he did in the Red sea, and in the brooks of Arnon, ( Numbers 21:14)

And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the people had avenged themselves upon their enemies. Is not this written in the book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down about a whole day. ( Joshua 10:13)

And the rest of the acts of Solomon, and all that he did, and his wisdom, are they not written in the book of the acts of Solomon? ( 1 Kings 11:41)

Now the rest of the acts of Solomon, first and last, are they not written in the book of Nathan the prophet, and in the prophecy of Ahijah the Shilonite, and in the visions of Iddo the seer against Jeroboam the son of Nebat? ( 2 Chronicles 9:29)

Now the acts of Rehoboam, first and last, are they not written in the book of Shemaiah the prophet, and of Iddo the seer concerning genealogies? And there were wars between Rehoboam and Jeroboam continually. ( 2 Chronicles 12:15)

    What was King David's "affliction"?
  • Fred Scanlan - 2 years ago
To be king, one must have the heart of one!

To be a king in the kingdom, requires determination and the love for His heavenly Father! A selflessness, leading and feeding the children of God. Knowing His will, living in His judgments, even suffering those moments that are from Him, these judgments, others who don't know Him, may never know.

This was the man David, who's heart was toward God, who would make some mistakes finding himself in a bad way, along the way because of sin. His family and friends turning on Him, finding himself on the run for His life. He would know of nowhere to go , but the house of God! How a natural born king could find himself in such a way?

David with His two body guards, open the doors and find no one their. No one their to get the permission to eat. No one their for consolation, no one their to absolve Him from sin. This day being the Sabbath, David becomes bold, falling on His knees!

David who's heart is toward God, reaches into the altar, takes of those things that are given freely to those who love God.

Without the priest, David a leader in eyes of God, will now receive the forgiveness, strengthened to go forward in his own righteousness, found in and through the bread and wine! A Bread and wine at the alter of life! The bread of life!

Those who understand what it means to love God, are become friends to the King. A king who reigns and rules now and forever more! Jesus the Christ, our sabbath even in the darkest of time.

A question for anyone and everyone regarding the book of Revelation . An elderly brother in my congregation told me this and I'm interested to know what others think . Firstly , none of Revelation refers to things that happened before this revelation was given to John , verse one states : things which must shortly come to pass . Secondly when John says in verse ten : I was in the Spirit on the Lord's day , John is not referring to a Sunday but to The Day that we're all waiting for , the day of Christ's return and thirdly that as it is a day , that it's all about things that will happen in the one thousand years just before Christ returns , as one day is as a thousand years to God , and Christ returns at the end of this last day . Lots to think about there , what do you think ? All answers will be read and appreciated , though if I get lots I may not be able to reply to them all , thanks .
  • Philip Christian Parks on 2 Peter 3 - 2 years ago
2Pet. 3:10; the elements shall melt with fervent heat = These "elements" consist of the physical substances and materials of the universe from the largest building blocks to the smallest sub-atomic particles.

This expression proves more sinister than just describing intense heat that destroys. It also describes the elements breaking out into fiery heat similar to a spontaneous combustion.

Think of a person who suffers from an internal bodily fever, of which if left unchecked, untreated, and unabated, that sufferer will surely die.

Note, Apostle Peter did not identify the source of origin that results in this "fervent heat". From where, or from what does this heat generate? The description seems to suggest this heat builds up from an internal fever within the created physical elements which breaks out into a wild fire.

This is all very plausible, for GOD created all things consisting of molecules and atoms. Atoms constantly move, and their movement generates heat. The faster atoms move, the more intense the heat.

Such is the plan The LORD (v.9) has in store for the present heavens, elements, the earth, and all the works.

I'm totally lost on most of the discussion in Philippians chapter 1. I've read this chapter like five times in the commentaries and researched it and I'm not really finding anything about marriage in there I meant that's an overall yes thing to deal with but how did it come to be such a discussion in Philippians one? I guess I'll go ahead and give my input on it though I believe if you are an unsaved person and you get married and divorced then what you do once you're saved is what matters otherwise why would we be telling people that Jesus forgives our sins. before I was saved doesn't count as it does after I was saved he cleanse me of all my sins and still now I'm a new in person in Christ from that day forward everything matters. Including divorce and marriage you would definitely apply God's word to divorce and marriage and you wouldn't do it unless adultery. But again before being said you didn't know this.

Working for the rich has its benefits , but along with these benefits , come responsibilities.

Watching over the property, making sure that the bills are payed, keeping those who perform the maintenance are keeping and doing the work.

Even with all these things, a steward must be aware who is watching. Those who might benefit from His discrepancies, taking His job from Him ,if only with a rumor, it would behoove the master of the house to investigate from such rumor.

Placing blame, revealing the goods that ALL have been benefiting from.

As the world fills its silos, canning the oil, we ALL know that someone has dropped the dime, that may take us all down.

It would be the call too the steward who is responsible! He will be held responsible, this steward we have had confidence in that He would do what is right!

He will come, and He will make the decision on how much we owe! He will trust us to tell Him the truth, as He knows that His days may be numbered, that His job is at stake!

We hear that He is on His way, this supposed one who must cover the cost of using the fields and pressing the oils from His tree's that are His, the Rich man's property.

Even so, their is something certain about this rich man, Certain in He is a benevolent man, a man who forgives enough that we ALL benefit!

If for only half the amount owed, The steward shall remain, and we will only pay half of what we owe!

The question then remains, what about the other half! When shall that half be payed?
