Matthew 6:19. Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:

Matthew 6: 20. But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:

Please help me... What means can I lay up for myself treasures in heaven?

    Thank you.

Peter comes again to Capernium with Christ. Peter see's the tax collecters waiting for Him, Jesus goes ahead into the house. Why they would ask Peter for the tribute money and not Christ, poses a question. Why, would they seek the money from Peter, and not ask Christ himself?

Surely they knew Christ had nothing, only the tatered clothing on His back! No place to stay, homeless! Yet,

Peter a fisherman, could not have been doing very well either, since He nad not worked in awhile following Christ in His ministry.

Taxes can become an overwhelming affair, for anyone who has not worked , living and working with Christ the king!

Peter comes into the house, by now overwhelmed with idea how he is going to pay!

Jesus could have sent Peter anywhere to retrieve this mony! Instead He sends Him to the place of His employment! The sea!

Imagine Jesus sending you a fisherman with one hook! Telling you the first fish you catch, open its mouth too discover the coin that would pay this money!

Peter goes with the words of Christ, as He goes pondering Jesus word of freedom of those who are the children of the king. With the they serve. No longer strangers, but now children in the kingdom of freedom!

Freedom in light of the King we serve, experiancing the miracles of God! This experiance while gone, we wait to see the expresion on Peter's face as He flips the coin too them!

Serving the creator, is serving the King. If you are serving the KIng, then you are indeed free!

    Dear One Eighty,

Thank you for your reply. I do believe that God can be hateful about things that are contrary to Him and loving about things that are in alignment with His perfections. I don't see that there is a conflict here in God.

I would note that we see these aspects of personality through a sinful lens, so, as is stated, God has said that

"My thoughts are not your thoughts,

Nor are your ways My ways," says the LORD. "For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than Your thoughts." (NIV)

    Isaiah 55:8-9

We can not solve what seems to be opposites in the character of God. These are paradoxes, not contradictions. Though in God they seem to us to be conflicting ways, they are actually true. Blessings to you, One eighty.

Who are the 2 witnesses in the book of Revelation ?
  • GiGi - 2 years ago
    Larry,

At the time of the attack and desolation of Jerusalem, there were more Jews already dispersed among the surrounding nations than we residing in Jerusalem. Note that at Pentecost, Jews came to Jerusalem from the surrounding nations to gather for the Feast of Weeks (First Fruits or Harvest). Also, the descendants of the other 11 tribes of Israel had mostly been dispersed into the nations outside of Palestine with only a remnant still residing in the Promised Land in A.D. 70. So the bulk of the 12 tribes of Israel lived in other parts of the world than the Promised Land. Therefore, all of the Jews and Israelites were not killed in A.D. 70 desolation.

Your comment about fake Jews being substituted for true Jews is unfounded, I believe. Can you offer some citations of archeological and historical proof for your view?
  • Why We have To Wait 2999 years for Jesus to Return - 2 years ago
"Jesus delegated His ministry to His disciples. He stayed on earth long enough for HIS DISCIPLES, THEN AND NOW, to continue the work.

In Heaven now, Jesus is at the right hand of God, INTERCEDING FOR THE SAINTS. Those that are born again; or will be. He knows who His THIS DAY, disciples are now (men women and children). I've seen children that know the Word of God from their parents. They teach it to friends on the playgrounds.

    HEBREWS 7:23-26

Do not allow Satan to shake your faith in what Jesus taught concerning His return.

    Don't get weary in well-doing.

Jesus is returning. The Father will stand up and tell The Son, go get YOUR BRIDE. (people ready for the rapture of the Church). All those invited to the Wedding and the Feast. Read parable of the ten Virgins. (be full of the Holy Spirit's oil of gladness.

We are invited now. We must be born again. Looking for the Bridegroom. Men, women, children, infants, elderly, All Races. An invitation is printed with our names on it.

Again I say to all countries served by this website, you are invited too. Take hold of JESUS. Your religion will not give you access to this event. Be born again according to JOHN 3:16. Give thanks and praise daily. We'll be doing a lot of that when we first see Heaven.

To sinners: the invitations are gone out already. We must receive it and say YES. Don't chance it and procrastinate.

does God heal or not? i broke my arm not too long ago, and he healed my arm. if someone has surgery for appendix, chances are pretty good that he will recover.....gallbladder surgery etc. those things will heal, but not your cancer or your asthma or your blindness. i do not understand this, and it is creating problems in my faith.

what are promises of healing for? people say, oh he will be healed in the next life....well i hope so! we don't need the promises for the next life now do we? healing in Heaven is pretty much a given. and if the healing promises are not meant to work in this life then what about the others? are they for the next life too?

i want someone to tell me, are we to look to God for healing? or not waste our time? i will tell you, He has saved my life more times than i can tell you in many different ways. but then i was not asking. bc they just happened and had happy endings, but now i am asking him, for this is serious (well many of the others were as well) and suddenly

i don't trust that he will save me this time

ty for what it's worth to you, yours is my favorite site (maybe my answer is in my question. i am so confused)

A (supposed) pastor on here quoted several scriptures which he professed use the word kanabus (cannabis) Genesis, Jeremiah & others. I believe he was quoting from the Hebrew Bible, but none the less he is convinced that Cannabis was used by the very long lived Bible men; Moses, Noah and others presumably because of their use of Cannabis for health issues.

Is there any truth to this?

He stated his wife's severe pain was virtually eliminated after regular use of Cannabis.

In light of innumerable stores opening in the past few years in the USA that sell Cannabis oil what is the general consensus among clergy about Cannabis heading powers?

I would like to know if I could lose my salvation? Because I've heard yes and no. But if the answer is yes, what would have to take place for me to lose my salvation? I just want to make sure I'm in good standing when Jesus calls us up.

    Thank You,

    Renee

If Eve is the Mother of all, how is God the Father of all? I get that God is the father of all but shouldn't Adam be the father he was Eve's husband after all and the first man alive.

John 21: The Resurrection of Christ; predestined plans for His Apostles

This chapter begins with some of the disciples fishing; and for the THIRD time Christ appears "incognito"; this time by the sea of Tiberius. Some surely would have seen Him in His resurrected glory before this; and you would think He would be recognizable. The scene played out much as it did when Christ first found Peter and the others fishing without success. Therefore; John knew immediately once the command in verse 5 and the resulted enormous haul that it was indeed the Lord. It was therefore evidenced by His characteristic behavior; at least as much as the miracle itself. Often missed is how Christ Himself got the fish and bread to prepare this meal without fishing gear before they even arrived having it cooked.

The rest of this narrative gets into the fate of Peter and John (always described in the third person). Peter is given the "interrogation" as it were as to the commitment of His love toward Jesus. He then is given prophetic insight as to his fate of martyrdom in verse 18; and repeated once again in the next verse the original calling "follow me."

As for John; Peter was inquisitive for some strange reason what would happen and Christ hypothetically brought up the fact that if he were to remain alive until He comes what was it to Peter? As it was; Christ decided to let him die a natural death after tradition apparently describes a foiled attempt to boil him in oil. The end of this chapter indicates one reason in verse 24; that is to write scripture; which also would extend until John wrote Revelation for him to leave this world.

Therefore; we see individual lives as planned all the way to the end in the eternal plans of the Godhead. As Deuteronomy 29:29 states the secret councils of God are beyond us; however kings search things out ( Prov. 25:2). May we seek as overcomers those things which glorify Him; and trust the path He has placed before us ( Prov. 3:5).

John 18 and 19 The predestined plan of God-crucifixion and atonement

Rather than detailing each event in separate chapters; I am making some general points here.

It doesn't seem fitting to do a forensic analysis of the details of the horrors of crucifixion in studying this subject; but instead doing a broad based approach to the events which played out in the time when Christ voluntarily laid down His life. ( John 10:18).

In regard to Judas Iscariot; of course he was the predestined son of perdition prophesied in Psalm 41:9. There were curses to be on his descendants as well. As to Pilate; the discourse went down in chapter 18 where Christ plainly told him that all who are of the truth hear His voice ( John 18:37). His response "what is truth" in the next verse clearly shows he remained in darkness; albeit his sin wasn't to be as great as the others who brought Him to Pilate.

We also; of course see how Christ's statement to Peter came to pass. We can sort of call prophecy predestination in a way; unless it is based on conditional factors. Jesus knew Peter couldn't stand in his own strength; but was already preparing him for when he had a change of heart. Several prophecies are in chapter 19 along with the one in the other gospels where He asks why God foresook Him taken from Psalm 22.

This most important event in human history allows us to be with Him in heaven eternally.

That is the central message that should be in our minds as to the certainty that God's plan and will are accomplished. This calls for praise and a humble and contrite spirit as Psalm 51 indicates. Psalm 110:3 shows "we shall be made willing in the day of thy power..." and seems to reflect sentiments as Job 19:25 and Isaiah 26:19 on the Resurrection
