I started a fast with my husband Don in order to be set free from some of my family member 's who are wicked. They always seem to want to keep an argument on going all the time. I 'm always oppressed whenever their names are mentioned or when they come around. However I 've broken ties with them and feel like I did the right thing. Peace of mine is what I now have, even though they are family member 's. Thank you, Brenda

Lucy, There is noway I can believe our Heavenly Father wants or expects us to remain in an abusive situation. He told us to love our neighbors as ourselves...not more than. He told us women to be subject to our husbands AND told the husbands to take care of the wives. When one refuses, "separation " may be the only recource. In your situation, separation might lead to your endangerment and, should it do so, you will need to contact the local authorities to tend to the situation. I don 't know what country you live in so use your own judgment about this. Just know your Heavenly Father loves you and does not want you to be in an abusive situation. It is true some interpret the Scriptures as being a woman should practice her FAITH in an abusive home and of course this can be done. However, sometimes our GETTING OUT OF THE ABUSIVE SITUATION can be the very act that brings the husband to his senses because that husband can see then that you know the value of your own being....which God has shown you by giving His Son to die for you. Never discount your own self worth!

GEN 1-4-8... "Roman Catholic Transmittal from Catholic Website: It is well to remind the Presbyterians, Baptists, Methodists, and all other Christians, that the Bible does not support them anywhere in their observance of Sunday. Sunday is an institution of the Roman Catholic Church, and those who observe the day observe a commandment of the Catholic Church. " Priest Brady, in an address at Elizabeth, N.J., March 17, 1903, reported in the Elizabeth, N.J. News of March 18, 1903. "You may search the Bible from Genesis to Revelation, and you will not find a single line authorizing the sanctification of Sunday. The Scriptures enforce the religious observance of Saturday, a day which we never sanctify. " James Cardinal Gibbon, The Faith of Our Fathers, chapter 8. "If Protestants would follow the Bible, they should worship God on the Sabbath day. In keeping the Sunday they are following a law of the Catholic Church. " Albert Smith, Chancellor of the Archdiocese of Baltimore, replying for the Cardinal, in a letter of February 10, 1920. "We hold upon this earth the place of God Almighty. " Pope Leo XIII, Encyclical Letter, June 20, 1894 The Great Encyclical Letters of Leo XIII, p. 304. " " "Prove to me from the Bible alone that I am bound to keep Sunday holy. There is no such law in the Bible. It is a law of the holy Catholic Church alone. The Bible says Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy. The Catholic Church says, No. By my divine power I abolish the Sabbath day and command you to keep holy the first day of the week. And lo! The entire civilized world bows down in reverent obedience to the command of the Holy Catholic Church. " Priest Thomas Enright, CSSR, President of Redemptorist College, Kansas City, MO, in a lecture at Hartford, Kansas Weekly Call, February 22, 1884, and the American Sentinel, a New York Roman Catholic journal, in June 1893, p. 173. "Of course the Catholic Church claims that the change was her act . . AND THE ACT IS A MARK of her ecclesiastical power. " From the office of cardinal Gibbons, through Chancellor H. F. Thomas, November 11, 1895 END OF TRANSMITTAL
  • Edward Dalcour on Acts 12 - 9 years ago
It completely in error for the term pascha to be translated as the pagan term "Easter " in Acts 12:4. The KJV translators mistranslated pascha to conform to customs and traditions of the day. Virtually all scholarship agrees that the term "Easter " finds its origin in paganism "Easter " is a heathen term, derived from the Saxon goddess Eastre. Christians did not even use the term until hundreds of years after the first century. And many then and more today do not use it because of its association and origin with paganism. Of the 29 places pascha appears in the NT, the KJV rightfully translates it "Passover " at every place except Acts 12:4. The comment above "it is the only place in the Bible where 'pascha ' appears in a post-Resurrection context " is untrue. In 1 Cor. 5:7 we read that "Christ our Passover also has been sacrificed. " This is clearly a post-resurrection context note the aorist here . But it really does not make a difference. Hence, "Easter " is clearly a KJV translational mistake. The pagan term "Easter, " which represents the fertility goddess is not an acceptable translation of pascha.

Pete,Acts is a transitional book. They had no New Testament Scriptures at this time and the Lord is making a transition from Law to Grace. Doctrine is not established until Acts 15. We now have the Scripture revelation that says we are saved by grace through faith. No water baptism, no tongues, no works, etc, just faith alone.

  • Insight 777 on Luke 18 - 9 years ago
Verse 34, if the 12 disciples thought that the Son of man was Jesus then they would have understood this parable and this verse perfectly. Yet, this Bible verse says they did not understand it nor did they know of the teachings, the words of it, it was hidden from them. Jesus did not teach it to them. They were taught that eventually all following Jesus return to God in everlasting life, that Jesus is the Son of God and is sent to rule his kingdom. So saying they could not understand this parable means that the Son of man is not Jesus. They knew Jesus as the Son of God not the Son of man. They were taught by Jesus that Jesus is the Son of God, that God is his Father. They had no understanding of the Son of man. Jesus even asked them who they thought the Son of man was. Peter said that he thought Jesus was the Son of God. Jesus praised him for that understanding. Because Jesus did not tell him that, Jesus did not teach that he was the Son of man ever, so God enlightened Peter to the understanding that Jesus is not the Son of man but is the Son of God. Who or what is the Son of man is one of the greatest mysteries of the Bible. To fit the parable, the Son of man must exist with Jesus. Jesus has knowledge of the Son of man. What happens to Jesus also happens to the Son of man. I think the Son of man is not a living being nor is it Jesus but a creation, a thing of knowledge. This thing will allow the continuation of the existence of man as a specie on earth. Only Jesus has control of this "Son of man ", this knowledge, which is an extremely advanced technology that Jesus will use to end the final war taught by John in Revelations. This knowledge of the Divine Mind will rule the world in peace when Jesus returns at the end of days.

Wow,all the smartest are here. Hey, question, so I 'm going to hell? I really don 't want to go there, I want to be wherever Jesus is. Unfortunately I still have these fleshy problems, like lust, selfishness, immaturity, fears, laziness, etc. I 've learned that the Bible really explains everything sometimes God uses others to help me undetstand what 's important. I appreciate the 7th Day Adventists ' dogged determination to teach the Sabbath observance. I 've heard preachers talk about that too. I don 't think anyone is saying that there is no Sabbath day, nor do they say that Sunday is the correct day to worship. Doesn 't Acts have record of the early gatherings being in the Synagogues, but they would also gather on the 1st day of the week also? Paul warned them and us of Judeisers, who would insist that the new believers would need to observe Moses laws, which seems godly, yet it seems to be more showy rather than real worship. I 've been called lots of names: cracker, poor little white trash, hypocrite, retarded. Some of my best friends were Adventists my exwife was Catholic. My current wife stopped going to church years ago, and she drinks a 6pack a day. I pray and read the King James Bible every day. I hate it when I have to miss church gatherings. So, any responses?

I 'm so shocked at how I have read this so many times and God has opened it up for me fuller: This is saying just what is needed even for today a man marries wrong woman, all the hard work he does he losses in divorce ect . And also he will have wasted his clean health and good youthful years for nothing , we must be careful who we marry and make sure it 's the right person .Someone who will serve The Lord with you and has a good morales compass , which is Gods Word .I have been married and Divorce twice and learned a lot . I 've been single purposely for four to get where I need to be spiritually and raise my daughter up right , she is now 18 and I 'm 40 and soon God will send the right man my way and I will truly appreciate him and love him , but most of all serve God with Him

Having studied bibical teachings for some time now, all I read is a history of the Jewish people. That includes jesus. Where are the rest of us represented? Did the church leave out books, because they were sexist. Why can 't they be included now? People change the bible to suit their agenda. Why doesn 't god really talk to people in a burning bush today? Why doesn 't he stop the false prophets of today?

Our Father in Heaven, There are some who post on Your site who 's only intention is to deceive those searching for the truth. The same attempt to twist Your Word by ignoring key verses such as: 36 Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man. ...These disrespect Your Word, add feelings of hopelessness and deceive many into believing You will give the world obvious notice prior to removing Your Church the Body of Christ. I pray LORD JESUS that You bless all who come here searching for the knowledge of the truth and that the mouths of liars are stopped. May Your will be done. Amen
