God doesn't waste words. There is something significant about Quirinius being mentioned to clarify the date. So far it only seems to muddy the water. What is it that God wants to know concerning this?
  • Mark Christian on Matthew 5:40 - 11 years ago
I am in court to defend my right to my home from vindictive ex-wife, who has already taken too much from me. What do I do? I read the Bible for advice/comfort/wisdom/answers... and I'm told to give up my house. If we take Matt. 5:40 literally it is saying be naked if someone sues you for your clothes, do not fight back. I am not wise enough to see the logic in this. I am by nature a fighter in life, because life itself is a struggle. Why should we allow evil people/acts to walk all over us. Do we let the bully walk all over a defenseless child? We can all be defenseless in this world. I'm up against a vindictive ex-wife who has an equally vindictive lawyer. It is Matt 5:40 I shall lean to, but I am unsure and unconvinced.

@Thorwald Johnson If you look at other translations of Revelatiosn 1:16 it says to his god and father. Im sure this if the correct translation. Even though Jesus is called a mighty God. The bible doesn't show where that title is neccasarily appropriate in referring to him all the time. Rather he is called Lord/Master. He is also a King but he will hand over his kingship back to Jehovah as stated in 1 Conrinthians 15:28 is why whenever the Bible just says God It always refers to Jehovah. Idk what all this godhead business is about. Jesus and Jehovah are two separate beings.
  • Jacob monroe on Job 38:24 - 11 years ago
This one verse, so perfectly translated in the King James version alone, by men who feared God and translated, not according to their own judgments, but according to the word of God, displays the hand of God through the Holy Ghost. All other vetsions are weak and disorderly and speak of mens ignorance, denying God the Glory he deserves. For indeed the light is parted, and as it is parted, heats the earth causing the east wind to scatter upon the earth. All other attempts to rewrite this verse dishonor God and his only begotton son, who holds all things by the Word of his power. ..by whom All things consist
  • Khumbulani J. Ndlanzi on Psalms 27:13 - 11 years ago
The power and strength in our lives depends on our ever-increasing faith in God's word, without it circumstances of life would have not submitted and bow down to us.

It is comforting to know that no matter what our godly desires shall not end up in waste basket his shaking of nations notwithstanding. Thanks be to Him. In Jesus' Name. Amen.

If the alleged elect still get drawn into xmas & easter, being false positives, then it is not surprising most will be fooled by a false Messiah. After all the fooling occurs on a daily basis. Most have not even cracked open Scriptures to read them, they go along with a fasle doctrine spouted by the mother of harlots. Read the good book & you won't be fooled

Edom itself is not a place, its a people, hence Jacob and Esau. Those who descended from Jacob/Israel are known as Israelites and those from Esau, Edomites. They inhabited the land of Idumea and then later stole Israels identity ( Psalm 83). So those currently in the land of Israel are nothing more than impostors ( Revelation 2:9) This chapter is talking about the restoration of the Most Highs chosen people and destruction of those who have been hard at work for thousands of years attempting to destroy them. America is the daughter of Babylon, spoken of in Isaiah 13, Jeremiah 50, 51 and Revelation

tTo give thanks to Jehovah, and to give praise to the Almighty is not only good things to do in the seventh day, it is also a requirement by Jehovah Himself, honoured by the Davidic kingdom.
  • Timothy Wayne George on Proverbs 20:1 - 11 years ago
Lev.10:9 This verse tells priest not to drink strong drink when they come into the tabernacle. They nor their sons lest they die. There is a sin unto death, and we must be careful how we walk in the congregation. Let no sin have dominion over you, and wine as well as strong drink is one of those sins that will destroy you. We are told to be not drunk with wine where in is excess, but be filled with the Spirit. If we cause our brother or sister to sin by using our liberty in Christ, then we are sowing discord in the church. So better to not drink if it causes someone to stumble.

    1 John 4
1Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. 2Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: 3And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world. 4Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. 5They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them. 6We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.

God himself must prepare the heart before it can receive salvation. Speaking from personal experience, I was at the end of my rope when I came to him. He prepared my heart by bringing me to repentance. The answer of the tongue is the evidence of salvation, i.e. speaking in tongues.
