If God gave us his name, by inspired writings, then surely he wants us to use his name.
  • Rev. Autrey on Titus 3 - 11 years ago
(Verse 4) "But then God our Savior showed us his kindness and love." This means that Jesus will save no one who will not recognize him as God. This is the most basic information taught in the Bible. Isaiah 43:25 says, "I-yes, I alone-am the one who blots out your sins for my own sake and will never think of them again." This is unmistakenly talking about Jesus.

But how can this be true? What we are talking about here is God's self identity or personality. Have you ever heard the phrase, "God in 3 persons," or personalities? What this means is, the personality through whom God speaks to us is Jesus. Let me say it this way. When God speaks to us he says "I am Jesus."

Remember what happened to Paul on the Damascus road? When Paul met God, he said to him, "Who are you Lord (God)?" And God said, "I am Jesus, the one you are persecuting." Later God said to Ananias, "Go over to Straight Street, to the house of Judas. When you arrive, ask for Saul of Tarsus. He is praying to me right now."

No good Jewish person would dare pray to anyone else but God!
  • Barbaa on Revelation 6 - 11 years ago
I always wonder how much of this text has been embellished through the centuries by well-intentioned (or not) translators who brought their own perspective.

Man's interpretation of God's words have often been suspect--used to manipulate and control others...

If God is actually Love, how can it be in His nature to punish His children so?
  • Albey Dixon Lawrence on Matthew 5:37 - 11 years ago
Gen 3:4 "But the serpent said to the woman, You
shall not surely die"..In this context, Gen 3:3 states "Except the fruit from the tree which is in
the middle of the garden. God has said,
You shall not eat of it, neither shall you
touch it, lest you die." Instead of the serpent saying you will not die the opposite of what God told Adam and Eve, it says, "surely die". This is an additional word (Surely). Jesus said in Matt 5:37 "But let your statement be, 'Yes, yes' {or} 'No, no'; anything beyond these is of evil." God does not like flattery or sarcasm, be plain. Use of many adjectives (positive or negative) should be avoided by Christians..Its my thought..correct me if I am wrong.:-) ..God bless..

"Love so amazing, so divine, demands my life, my soul my all." Medtiate on this love, soak in the reality of it, and allow it to impact your innermost being. What a Saviour, Glory to G-d.

John 1,1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
    The Word is God
    Jesus is God.
This above scripture says it all.
    Revelation 19,13
And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.
So if Jesus name is the word of God,, say it slow
    beginning was the Word,
and the Word was with God,
    and the Word was God.
Don't you see that Jesus & God are 1 in the same??God the Father, God the Son & God the Holy Ghost all together and 1 in the same.
Look at it like this Okay-> A MAN-> :You are a Father, But you are also a SON & you have a Spirit. But you are just 1 person.
    Blessings

When you are given over to the enemy for prey. One that is defenseless, especially in the face of attack; a victim. Sin is the predator. An organism that lives by preying on other organisms. 2. Matthew 23:37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. AND the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. verses 38, 39 also Love thy neighbor! helping and loving our fellow man as Christ Jesus loves you and I! To open up our bowels of compassion as Christ Jesus has for you and I! Romans 13:8 Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law. Charity mean we are to love our fellow man as God loves us! Sometimes our fellow man isn't so lovable , remember sometimes we aren't so lovable yet God still loves you and I. Amen

It is important for us to pray and read the Bible to grow in the Lord. What so ever we say, must go through from Genesis to Revelation. If it does not go through Gen to Rev, we must leave that it alone, because it is not "Thus sayth the Lord" You do not need always to be laid hands to receive the Holy Ghost. Why acts 11:15, Peter spoke and they receive the the Holy Ghost. God bless

The churches of Christ speaks when the bible speaks and are silent where the bible is silent. All rules and regulations come from God.The curch of Christ has no creed book. All creeds are written by man for man and not by God for christians.
