  • Mark on Acts 10 - 12 years ago
Chapter 11 Verse 17, Peter ADMITS that he is nobody to argue with God, It is God's plan to give the Holy Ghost unto the Gentiles, not Peter's, God gave them the Holy Ghost even before they were baptized with water, God gave the Holy Ghost to those who believed,

Who are you to withstand God's plan of administering the Holy Ghost? Who is anybody to argue God's plan and what he did? Peter the Apostle recognized it, Teach the full truth, instead of bits and pieces and call that "what the Apostles taught" tell the truth of what Peter the Apostle admitted to,

Forasmuch then as God gave them the like gift as he did unto us, who believed on the Lord Jesus Christ; what was I, that I could withstand God?

There is no exception for adultery. It is added by man and is clearly NOT mentioned in this verse yet stated in the notes. The only allowance was given - by Moses, not intended by God - for hardness of heart. We are to forgive as we have been forgiven. Even adultery. Something this self-centered world does not want to hear much less live out. Even within the church. People say God wants us to be happy blah blah blah no He wants us to be holy as He is holy. We are happy when we seek His will over our own and His will is that no one divorces for He hates divorce. Divorce causes a man's prayers to fall on deaf ears because it separates a man/woman from God because it takes them outside of His will. Be courageous and teach the full truth, not what people want to hear to soothe their emotions or conscience.
  • 4adam on Isaiah 40:22 - 12 years ago
The scripture was not originally written in English. The Original word that was translated to circle is chuwg which means sphere. Some will ignore this fact since it does not match their bias and have determined the Bible not be true.

Sherry...If God asks us to forgive then He is also willing to forgive us. He will never ask us to do something He is not willing to do Himself. Matthew 18:21-22
"Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times? Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven."
1 John 1:9 "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."
Hebrews 8:12 For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.
  • Pastor Wayne M on Acts 1:8 - 13 years ago
It is always a season of redemption, but how can they hear without a preacher, and how can he preach except he be sent. Also, how can he preach without the Holy Spirit. That same spirit that fell on the disciples back at Solomons Porch, is the same spirit that lives within Christians today. For without that spirit, we are none of his! Think on this statement when you think of the foolishness of preaching, and what it means to take upon preaching the word to a lost and dying world ! AMEN God Bless You !

  • Joyce Hutto on 1 Corinthians 12 - 13 years ago
We are all born into the sin nature, therefore we must all repent and believe that Jesus Christ is Lord of Lord and King of Kings. Regardless of which religion, denomination, creed or sect, if we have not been covered by the blood of Christ we will be lost for eternity.

  • Holly on 1 Corinthians 7:34 - 13 years ago
In everything we do, we must act, think, and live out our lives in a way that praises the Lord and carries our His will. This includes keeping his commandments and spending time with the Lord in prayer (spiritually) but also in body (through our actions). By being devoted by body means we should be kept pure and run far from sin. It is a constant continuous obedience from us, that shows our love for the Lord.
  • YirmeYah Ben Ysrayl on 1 Maccabees 1 - 13 years ago
I love 1 Maccabees, I see what my people " the so-called African/American the true Israelites " went through back then, with the Lawless ones. And
that will happen again before the return of the MessiYah, 2 Thess. chapter 2: the Lawless One
  • Calvin lopez on John 1:1 - 13 years ago
I love my lord and saviour Jesus Christ. But we must remember why he came down, to save us from our sins and more importantly to glorify and sanctify his fathers name. The almighty Jehovah God! Jeremiah 3:21 "because they have perverted their way, they have forgotten Jehovah their God." Seems like everyone has forgotten Jehovah. The definition of christian is- "a believer in Jesus Christ and his TEACHINGS." Everything he taught us was of his fathers will. Every miracle he performed he gave all credit to his father Jehovah. John 17:26 "And I have declared unto them thy name, and will declare it: that the love wherewith thou hast loved me may be in them, and I in them." If we are truly greatful to Jesus Christ for giving his own life for our sins, we must do what he taught and help him sanctify Jehovah gods name! What good is his death if we dont continue what he taught. He said in John 17:4 "I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do. " I love Jesus Christ and will continue to help him glorify Jehovah gods name! Jeremiah 2:32 can a maid forget her ornaments, or a bride her attire? yet my people have forgotten me days without number.

  • Joseph on Leviticus 20 - 13 years ago
@ Anonymous. Do not be confused. God created man as a free moral agent. That is why Adam our forefather fell or sinned in the Garden of Eden. So God does not control or manipulate our minds, we are free to make our own choices. Having said that, God does not tollerate sin or homosexuality but He forebears with longsuffering mercy hoping that the people will repent. But remember Judgement day is coming. Ecclesiastes 12:14 14. For God shall bring every work into judgment,
with every secret thing, whether it be good, or
    whether it be evil.

    @ Question and Answer
7 Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither
shall I flee from thy presence?
8 If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I
make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there.
9 If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in
    the uttermost parts of the sea;
10 Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy
    right hand shall hold me.
    11 If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me;
even the night shall be light about me.
12 Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee; but
the night shineth as the day: the darkness and
the light are both alike to thee. Psalms 139:7-11

God is a spirit. He is everywhere...

  • Sheila M. Kay on Genesis 11:28 - 13 years ago
More is written about Sarah than any other women in the Bible: A Princess to the Lord, The Mother of the Church, Abrahams half sister, also his wife. Barren until the right moment. She laughed inwardly yet God heard her!(Abram also laughed prior to Sarah) It tells of her child's birth, of her death, her burial place and the fact that Abraham mourned and wept. Genesis shares many of Sarah's emotions. The 'i' in her name was dropped and an 'h' added- this H stands for the Lord in Hebrew. Undoubtedly more was written about this couple then any other...interesting!

Every herb and fruit was good to eat prior to adam and eves sin, after the sin the bible states genesis 3:18 "Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field.

I believe that after the fall of men, that the bad fruits, herbs, etc... that we could not eat came to be. Most of the bad "food" probably has thorns and thistles anyways. Just a thought
  • Trisha on Revelation 20 - 13 years ago
Jamie, i am happy that u are seein a contradition here because it is taught that christ died for us so we don't need to keep that law.. which is so untrue. you need works. the book of james spoke of it an other chapters, if we have no law, then we never sin , and we should not need savior. and the heaven and hell teaching is a TOTAL deception. read it in your bible. christ said noone has ascended to heaven except him..when you understand the TRUE defintions of hell, it is totally different from religions teach and then would you understand the very loving creator we have and the REAL PURPOSE to human life....
