Worthy Is The Lamb
"And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth." (5:6)
This is a visual transcription of the will of God which, as we discussed in an earlier post, is three layered. Holy is his name. His Power and Wisdom in operation gives us the male and female principles. God created man 'in our image', and 'male and female created he them' consequently gives us a template in which the holy family shall be molded. (Ge.1:26-27). the four beasts as a memorial are represented according to the will of God 'Let them have dominion.' The face with man represented the Last Adam. In the will of God Adam as memorial for 'the blood of Jesus' which was adequate (the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all-He 10:10). On this basis Seth shall step in place of Abel. Similarly it shall explain the sealing of 144,000 in place of the nation of Israel. " And I heard the number of them which were sealed"-Re. 7:4-8. It is indication of redeeming the martyrs from the left out church.)
With regards to the four and twenty elders the authority or constitution of the Kingdom of God is in the Law. Whether in heaven or on earth or under the earth it did not suffer any injury. Jesus Christ the same yesterday, today and forever."(He.13:8;Ps.119:89). They were memorial to the body of church In vv.3-5 we are shown a demonstration of the foreknowledge so the elders inform John the Lamb was worthy to open the book.
"And no man in heaven, nor in earth, neither under the earth, was able to open the book,.../ And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof."(5:3-5)
"Day of the Lamb" (2of 2)
Seven in the case of judgement also signifies perfection wholeness.
In order to indicate this distinction The rider of the pale horses takes the stage, "And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth."(Re.6:8) The Spirit tags these judgments on the basis of the Word become flesh. Gospel of the Father and of the Son are revealed to man so Fellowship of God with Man there is only one basis: faith
God framed the worlds by his word (He.11:3) and the Son is the heir. Whosoever has received him by faith and abides in him shall be 'partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light.'
"And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever."(Re.11:15)
Day Of The Lamb
"For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?"(6:17)
In Psalm 2 we read that a day is appointed for the Son. " Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion./ I will declare the decree: the Lord hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee."(Ps.2:6-7). For this reason we find the kingdom of his dear Son mentioned. (Col.1:13-14) On the other hand we have the day of Jesus Christ or the day of the Lamb. Is there any difference between these two names? Yes there is and it is as a ram is different from the lamb when God 'tempted' Abraham. (Ge.22:13). In order to understand this distinction we shall study the seven days in the creation account which ends on the seventh, and he sanctified it. (Ge.2:1-3) Thereafter the Spirit takes up the narrative of a holy family beginning with Seth and according to the predetermined counsel of God, "And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved." (Ac.2:47) God sanctified the church which shall be heirs to the kingdom of his Son. "Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:/ Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:/ In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins.:(Col,1:12-14) The Lord found a ram caught in a thicket shall meet the occasion so we are looking at the holiness of God and who 'will have mercy on whom I will have mercy".(Ro.9:15-18) Seven indicates wholeness and perfection. The seventh day consequently denotes the Salvation Plan of God right on track till the Son says, "It is done"(Re.22:5)
The Holy Spirit gives us similar sequence when the Lamb is found worthy to break open the seven seals and it is about judgement. For this reason we have the seven angels with seven trumpets setting the judgement aspect of everlasting gospel which side by side keeps rolling in.
The Scroll
"A scroll written within and on the back sealed with seven seals." The tableau is identical with the night vision revealed to Daniel the seer.(Dan.7:10) There are different emphases, which we need to understand first. The night vision is intended as a tag to indicate the post-angelic revolt. 'Judgment was set' gives us additional clues: judgment is assigned to the Son so the scroll with seven seals points, as consequential. "Go your way, Daniel, for the words are shut up and sealed until the time of the end "(Dan.12:8-9) In the last chapter of the Book of Daniel it is clear that it was a matter for the Lamb slain before the worlds began and for the names entered in his book of life.(Re.13:8). Visions of Daniel and John are about the same but clothed with appropriate symbolism. This is a clue to understand the Book of the Revelation.
The seven seals work similar to the creation account was set in seven days. For example we have the Four Horsemen colour coded and when the Lamb breaks the first seal we are shown the rider on the white horse; a crown was given to him. (Re.6:2) "And he came out conquering and to conquer. In the night vision mentioned above Daniel sees it in slightly altered form. "One like a Son of man"(Dan.7:13-14) to whom was given dominion and glory and glory and a kingdom" which in the case of John we are shown a crown instead. We see him again in Ch.19. He is the Word of God. It makes sense why the Spirit gave the elders and the four beasts the role of MC. Their body is very much the personification of saints redeemed by the word of God. Likewise the man on the red horse is the personification of war which is proxy for the Beast who shall appear in Re.13.1-3; St James asks from whence did war issue forth.(Jas.4:1-2) Breaking of seals by Law of Gradation catalogues nations whose pride and authority came from Satan. . "Wrath of the Lamb is come and who can stand?"(Re.6:16-17)
The Four Living Creatures
"As for the likeness of their faces, each had a human face. The four had the face of a lion on the right side" In order to make sense of them we need keep the memorial of the four beasts and four and twenty elders set about the throne of God.(Re.4:4-11)
First we shall understand why they are kept as memorial. They all have body, which in heaven (God is a Spirit) is for our instruction. The word of God has a body which we shall call it the constitution, the Law. It heralds the glory of God. "And day and night they never cease to say., holy ,holy, holy" The four beasts and the four and twenty elders are in complete amity; memorial for the church and it points to the purpose of the body of Christ in eternity. (Re. 4:9-11) in short God framed the worlds with the word so the earth in every sense is for his praise and glory and it is not to demonize or eulogize man or divide them in their image and according to race or color. The memorial in heaven shall never change as the word is eternal.(Ps.119:89)Those who have despised, His creation are despising the Law. Jesus Christ as the Son showed his quality: though he were a Son 'yet he learned (He.5:8)
By one man's disobedience death came into the bloodstream of mankind (Ro.5:12) The memorial is for 'the one man Jesus Christ.' Memorial is about over-comers and the Last Adam(1Co.15) however draws Adam who was created in 'the image of God.' By setting the two visions side by side we can infer that saints of God are called to take each other's burdens, that is what the ox face signifies; the lion, faith; and eagle denotes hope.
Glory And Honour
Re.4:11 "Worthy are you,our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they existed and were created."
The four and twenty elders casting their crowns before the throne said the quote, which is our key verse. They established the direction of the Salvation plan of God. The reason why the Spirit revealed the memorial is to present the church of God in eternity and its effect is the mighty chorus given in Re.5:9-13. "And I heard every creature in heaven and on earth, and under the earth" join with the voices of angels in heaven in full throated praise. The new song is unlike songs created according to canon in music or sung by a choir of skillful singers, it is entirely under the grace that the seven lamps of the Spirit signify. (Re.4:5) Seven spirits of God or the unity of the Spirit is an ever present memorial. (The three heavens denote trinity- body represented by the four and twenty elders and the four beasts; the spirit by the seven lamps; and the soul which points to the Lamb who appears in ch.5:6.) "In the image of God" in the creation account brings in a similitude of 'as in heaven.'
The second part of the key verse shall explain Ge.1:1, "By your will they existed" included the memorial of four and twenty elders. The Spirit gives the number 24 (3x8) in terms of the Law which is same in heaven, on earth and under the earth " quoted above. The grace of Jesus Christ covered all three so death of the Son was also for spirits in prison. "The grace of of our Lord, that though he was rich, yet for your sake, he became poor,"(2 Co.8:9) In short no man may escape ignorance as to his calling (Ro.1:20) Either you gather with Christ or be cast out into the outer darkness.

Greetings in Christ JESUS
I'm astonished/surprised by the fact of the readers /students of the Bible don't discern that MAN already existed before GOD said: "Let us make MAN in our image, after our likeness: and ... "
Yes man already EXISTED, but NOT in the IMAGE of GOD; MAN was only and only made of the dust of the earth whose breath was in his nostrils- Genesis 2:7 and 15-17, and Isaiah 2:22.
Well, only after the fall GOD planned(GENESIS) to make man in His image, but how? GOD is Spirit, invisible. What is the image of a spirit?
First step: GOD's decision. Genesis 1:26-GOD said(to JESUS, the beginning), Let us make man in OUR image, after OUR likeness( Hebrews 1:3 combined with John 5:17 and John 1:11-13): and let them have dominion over the ...
2nd step: Execution of GOD's plan: Genesis 1:27 - So GOD created man in His own image, in the image of GOD created he him; male and female created He them. John 1:11-13 and John 5:17.
Remember: 1 Corinthians 15:45-47
47 The first MAN is of the earth, earthy; the second MAN is the Lord from heaven(is from a celestial /spiritual environment)
45 The first MAN Adam was made a living soul(whose breath is in his nostrils- Isaiah 2:22); the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.
46 Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual
Genesis 1:31
And GOD saw every thing that He had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day. (This sixth GOD's Day just finished)
Revelation 11:15-18
15...The kingdoms OF THIS WORLD are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of His Christ; and He shall reign for ever and ever
...
And the nations will be angry, and GOD's wrath is come, and the time of the dead, that they should be Judged, and that should give reward unto the servants the prophets, and to the saints, and them that fear His name, small and great; and should destroy them which destroy the earth
GOD BLESS
When we think that we do anything to contribute to our salvation we fool our self's, it is the Lord who brings and cleans us, it is the lord who separates us from our idols. It he God who gives us the new hearts, and removes our stoney heart. He puts his spirit in us, which now causes us to walk in his commands. He is the cause and our obedience is the effect. Do not stop striving against sin, but remember Christ, who paid it all. While we wait for the Lords return , we trust him and grow in submission. Purposefully, to the Glory of our Saviour Jesus Christ, our God.
Father we Praise you this day for all that you say you will do for those in Christ. Those who belong to you as children. Those who submit to your will as servants of righteousness. Since you are the one who begins the work, oh Lord help us trust you to finish it and not in our self's So that all will know all glory belongs to you.
Amen
I quote these wise men because God commanded us to heed the words of the wise, and if their words are in sync with the words of our majestic and supreme God, then I listen and learn what I need.
CONCLUSION:
The concluding section, which is the fourth one, is Chapter 16 Verses 10 to 24. In Verses 10 to 12, he talks about the mission of Timothy. He's going to send Timothy to them.
The manner of those who serve is that Paul says notice the household of Stephanus. They are addicted to the things of the Lord. And he says find those people and follow those people!
Verses 19 and 20, the mention of greetings.
And then the message of Paul as he signs off in Verses 21 through 24.
That is the introduction to 1 Corinthians. I will share my introduction to 2 Corinthians with you soon.
God Bless!!!
VIII: SECTION OUTLINE OF 1 CORINTHIANS:
There are two main sections in 1 Corinthians. In 1 Corinthians Chapter 1 Verse 10 through Chapter 6 Verse 20, Paul addresses the problems in the church that were reported to him by those from the house of Chloe.
In 1 Corinthians Chapter 7, beginning at Verse 1 through Chapter 16 Verse 9, Paul answers the questions that were delivered to him from the delegation from Corinth. Those are the two main sections. There are four sections all together.
INTRODUCTION:
1 Corinthians Chapter 1 Verse 1 to 9 is the introduction. We are introduced to the manuscript authors, Paul and Sosthenes. We have the mentioning of thanks by Paul, very important information.
CORRECTION:
The first main section is the section of correction, Chapter 1 Verse 10 through Chapter 6 Verse 20.
Chapter 1 is the message of the gospel.
Chapter 2 is the method of the gospel.
Chapter 3 is the ministry of the gospel.
Chapter 4 is the messenger of the gospel.
Chapter 5 is the mandate of the gospel.
Chapter 6 is the morality of the gospel.
INSTRUCTION:
The second main section, which is actually the third, is the instructional part, where Paul is answering their questions.
Chapter 7 is the marriage instructions for Gentiles.
Chapters 8 through 10, the meat offered to idols, and freedom for the believer.
Chapter 11, the meal of the Lord.
Chapters 12 through 14, the ministry of the Holy Spirit.
Chapter 15, the meaning of the resurrection.
Chapter 16, Verses 1 through 9, the money collected for the saints in Jerusalem.
And so, this is normal to be SARKINOS. It's a babe in Christ. So, he says that because of that, I fed you with milk and not meat because you are not able to receive it. But he says that even now you're not able to.
Verse 3 says "For you are yet SARKIKOS, abnormal flesh." He says it's been five years. By now, I should have been able to start sharing the meat with you. But you are just as carnal now as you were when you first received the Lord!
Carnal is not just a spiritual condition. Remember, its flesh. That's what the word means. You are functioning according to a normal human being and not spiritual.
"For you are yet carnal, SARKIKOS, for as there is among you envying and strife and divisions, are you not SARKIKOS, and walk according to men? For while one says I am of Paul, and another, I am of Apollos, are you not carnal, SARKIKOS?"
Wait till he rips on us about the divisions in the body of Christ. According to God's word, every believer is under one name, and that's Jesus Christ! We chose all the other names to divide ourselves up. And Paul says that's carnal.
So, the spiritual condition of the church to whom Paul is writing is a very carnal church. They are very fleshy people. They are not spiritual at all. They are emotional. They live off of emotional energy. And they handle all the business of the church and the events of the church according to the human, not according to the Spirit of God or the bible.
This is information that you need to know before you begin reading 1 Corinthians because there is information at the beginning of Chapter 1 that you need to compare.
VII: THE SPIRITUAL CONDITION OF THE CHURCH IN CORINTH:
Notice this scripture. This is 1 Corinthians 3:1-4. This section of scripture tells us the spiritual condition of the church in Corinth. Paul says in Verse 1 "And I brethren, I could not speak to you as unto spiritual." When he came there, they were babes in Christ. So, he could not talk to them as spiritually mature people. He says, "But as unto carnal."
Now there are two Greek words for carnal. The only difference in the two words is one letter. We have SARKINOS, and SARKIKOS. It is the word for flesh. That's what the word carnal means.
In the oldest manuscripts (not in the Textus Receptus), but in some of the older manuscripts, the first word here in Verse 1 of Chapter 3 is SARKINOS. "I could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as to SARKINOS, fleshly, even as unto babes in Christ."
So, he says you just received the Lord and you're very young in the Lord and you don't understand those things, so I cannot speak spiritual things to you. I had to speak as unto fleshly people. In Verse 2, he says I have fed you with milk and not with meat. For hitherto, that is up to now, you were not able to bear it, neither yet now are you able.
Approximately five years after Paul visited Corinth, he's writing to them, and what he's saying is that carnal, SARKINOS, is a normal condition. When a person first receives Christ, they are a babe in Christ. They don't know the things of the Lord. They don't have any spiritual development because they've just been born of the Spirit of God.
VI: THE IMPORTANCE OF THE FIRST LETTER TO THE CORINTHIANS:
Every problem in the modern-day church is addressed in 1 Corinthians.
The second point (and I'm giving you my opinion), but we are living in what I call the Corinthian church age where the majority of the body of Christ functions like the church the church in Corinth.
We, just as the Corinthians, we do not know the difference between the ministry of God's Spirit and emotional energy! Some people think that if you can "feel" the emotion of the meeting, that's the power of the Holy Spirit. No, it's not! But that's what the Corinthians thought. They called it the moving of the Spirit. They didn't call it emotion because they didn't know the difference between the flesh and the Spirit.
If there's ever been an era in Christianity where Christians have not understood the difference between the flesh and the Spirit, it's our generation, the age in which we live. The normal philosophy is that the church considers the whole person as a Christian, human and spirit. And you have to try and get your flesh involved, and the human involved, and the emotions involved, and all you have to do is dedicate your human efforts to God and you're doing right. No, you're not. Not according to God's word!
IV: HOW IT WAS WRITTEN:
1 Corinthians is the longest letter written by Paul. The believers in the church in Corinth were mostly Gentiles. The style of 1 Corinthians mostly addresses the Gentiles about their corruption. There are very few Hebraisms in 1 Corinthians.
V: HOW IT WAS PREPARED:
Paul wrote it. This delegation that came to Paul that told him of all the problems, they went back to Corinth and they delivered the manuscript back. But this delegation that came up, they reported the problems and they also delivered some questions that the church had for Paul.
And those are the two main sections in 1 Corinthians that I'll show you in a moment. One addresses the problems, and one addresses the questions. 1 Corinthians 5:9 indicates that Paul wrote a letter prior to 1 Corinthians. But that is a lost letter. We do not have that one. And some actually believe that there are two lost letters that Paul wrote to Corinth. So, if Paul wrote four, we only have two!
III: WHY IT WAS WRITTEN:
Paul evangelized Corinth during his second missionary journey beginning at Acts 18:1. Paul wrote 1 Corinthians after being visited by some from the house of Chloe.
1 Corinthians is a letter of correction. Paul wrote 1 Corinthians to address the corruption that was in the church.
Now the city of Corinth was so corrupt that any immoral person found anywhere in the Roman Empire was called a Corinthianized person. So, no matter where you were, you could have been in Rome, and somebody would say "There's a Corinthianized person!" Everybody knows what Corinth means, corruption and sin!
And these Gentiles, the church in Corinth, mostly and mainly Gentiles, had to come out from that atmosphere. They had church in Corinth. It was pagan worship and prostitution was part of the worship service. And people brought their families. And this was a constant seven day a week influence on that city!
And so now these people have received Christ, and they're gathering together as followers of Jesus after He has saved them, but they still have to live in this environment. They are in a community where this is all the people do, is participate in perversion and corruption as part of their worship, and it's part of their lifestyle. So, they had a great struggle in the church there because a lot of the problems that they struggled with was in the church in Corinth.
II: WHEN IT WAS WRITTEN:
It was written around 55 A.D. during Paul's third missionary journey. It was written from Ephesus according to Acts 18:10. And Paul wrote both 1 and 2 Corinthians to these people about three to five years after evangelizing them.
So, when he stopped off at Corinth during his first visit, many people were saved, and of course the riots started so he left. On his third missionary journey, he came straight to Ephesus. And he was there for quite some time and that's where he met up with Sosthenes because Sosthenes left after the riot. And Paul met him there. And so, the two of them were there.
And also, we're going to hear from the household of Chloe. The household of Chloe is going to make a trip. They know that Paul is in Ephesus. It's about three to five years after Paul made his visit on his third missionary journey. And so, a delegation leaves Corinth to go talk to Paul about the problems in the church. And that's what we are studying. We are studying about the problems in the church.
It's interesting that Paul said in 2 Timothy 3:16 that all scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, and for instruction in righteousness.
The book of Romans follows in line with that. Romans is the book of doctrine. All the doctrines of the Christian faith are established in the book of Romans. 1 and 2 Corinthians is for reproof, to present to them their guilt. For correction, we have the book of Galatians. And then from Ephesians down to Philemon, we have instruction in righteousness.
These books are not in chronological order according to when Paul wrote them, but they are in order, and I hate to say this, but in matter of importance. If I were going to choose which one of Paul's letters to start with, I would start with Romans because that's the doctrine of the Christian faith.
The next one in importance is 1 Corinthians. If you take Romans and 1 Corinthians together, you've got the doctrine, and you've got the correction about the doctrine, about the misuse of it.
I: ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
Paul is the author. His inscription is on all 13 of his letters. Also, from Sosthenes, who is a convert from Corinth who came with Paul. He got saved in Corinth when Paul visited there. What happened was that Sosthenes started a riot in Corinth to try and get Paul beat up by the crowd. Well, it backfired because the crowd started beating up Sosthenes.
So Sosthenes was taken in by Paul and some of the other Christians to doctor him up and help him. And because of that, Sosthenes received Christ. And so, he now was in danger because they were after him because they already beat him up. When Paul went over into Ephesus, Sosthenes met him there. In fact, Ephesus is where 1 Corinthians was written from.
So Sosthenes is there in Ephesus with Paul, and because the Christians in Corinth to whom Paul is writing know Sosthenes, he gives them his greeting as well.
There are stories throughout church history of Christians who have been persecuted by their families for their faith. Rev. Khalid Mansoor Soomro is a former Muslim from Pakistan who committed to Christianity in 1985. When he shared his conversion story with his parents, he was turned out of his home and no longer accepted as a family member. Khalid had to choose between Jesus and his family. And he chose Jesus. Khalid reflects, "Even though it is not easy and we face many hardships, we feel like Paul, who went through hardships and suffering for the glory of his Savior, who himself suffered during his walk on earth and his time on the cross." Would you be willing to identify with Jesus if it meant being rejected by your family? Who really is your first love?
Because of this, I know that we will not come to any agreement on most eschatological topics. I am fine that you think along dispensational lines. I wish you would offer me the same courtesy for thinking outside of dispensational views.
Have a good evening. I really don't wish to exchange with you on this topic so don't be surprised if I do not respond much to you.
I am happy to discuss other topics than eschatology with you. Blessings.
