In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy path.
The methodology; then of individuals or small groups sharing the Gospel on the streets has therefore been able to elicit tearful responses; or cursing and rowdy behaviours as a response; and in turn in the Nursing Home environment led to a mini revival with almost all residents interested in prayer; and a number of folks attending an impromptu service when I was in the Pittsburgh area. (probably about a dozen). The formal Sunday meeting was not something I could attend or was leading as I had Sunday services to attend myself. I will say that being able to transport one or two elderly individuals was a blessing and good opportunity for fellowship; and if more of these type facilities could coordinate travel to churches that would be helpful.
Truth be told; there aren't too many churches in may neck of the woods who are out there regularly evangelizing on the streets. I am exercising some caution living here at home as some areas are very dangerous; and I don't want to upset my mom beyond measure and have responsibilities here taking care of them restricting time as well. I have known one or two cases of individuals in health care who have been bold enough even going against protocol by sharing the Gospel with those who are dying. My former roomate who started the Nursing Home work in Pittsburgh was very bold with his mom and apparently she came to the Lord a couple months before her death which was greatly prolonged beyond what the doctors and family expected.
Whenever we have repeated and consistent ministry we build relationships and trust; and eventually we can see the fruit of that.
I would certainly recommend Voice of the Martyrs and Bible League International. Their reports show how youth and many widows of those martyred for their faith tirelessly persist in sharing the Lord; as well as finding strength from God not to hold grudges against their captors. May we learn from their examples.
Thats y Jesus is saying are there not 12 hrs in a day and 12 hrs in a night...But if a man walk in the night... the written word only no spirit or life he is gonna stumble....But if he walks in the light the living word the H.G. That new covenant at calvary he will not stumble...Its only Jesus that is the light of the world....There are zillions of bibles in this world but this world is in deep darkness....
I love the bible but its just a love letter from a far away lover....But my bridegroom is Jesus the living word....We will be married to Spirit and life...Jesus/God ....Not paper and ink...God is much greater then a bible....I probable have 20 bibles in my house all kjv's but my bridegoom is Spirit and life the H.G. The living word....That Child of Promise...If salvation cd have come by the written word the bible then the living Word shed his blood in vain and the Cross was just foolishness....But Salvation is only the result of his blood at Calvary that New Covenant....NOT BY THE LETTER A KILLER THAT OLD COVENANT....The soul that sinneth shall surely die....But under this new covenant the blood at calvary....when he had taken the cup he said this is the N.C. In my blood drink ye all of it....Thus this New Covenant the law of life has made us free from the law of sin and death.. Romans 8:2.....We still get bit sometimes as we are still in the wilderness of sin but our snake bite is not fatal if we behold the lamb of God that taketh away the sins of the world....ty Jesus....As Moses lifted up a serpent in the wilderness even so must the SON OF MAN BE LIFTED UP....The living word. that had to die for us...
But I think we're reaching a breaking point. I no longer think staying quiet and being tolerant is an effective strategy. God opposes the proud and especially sexually deviant or perverted, especially when targeting innocent kids. So, I think we're closer to full out war in a spiritual sense. The satanic side is full on fighting and some are still sleeping while their kids are being indoctrinated 24/7 at school, on social media, news. It's now apparent they are not letting up one inch and are in full offense and our side has hardly even mounted a defense. Some Christians are being plowed over and even converted to satan's morals instead of God's morals.
This is both a prayer request and observation that we are in a full out culture war of good vs evil. They deceive by claiming they're the good guys and that their morals are good and that God's are bad. Classic satan's signature of reversing of the truth.
Also, its apparent that the US is being destroyed. At some point all political sides must agree on this basic fact that the dollar is intentionally devalued- worth less, that millions of illegals have come in, many soldiers from other countries, like a trojan horse. And drugs, crime, murder is possibly an all time high. Everyone needs Jesus so badly. How will we get the message to them when our freedom of speech is under attack. Will we mobilize some effort to push back on this or just roll over and do nothing?
Part 1
There is a passage in the New Testament that seems to be an extraordinarily clear statement about the doctrine of the Trinity, 1 John 5:7. To many, the question as to the existence of the Trinity is settled by this verse.
What Does 1 John 5:7 Say?
First John 5:7 reads as follows in the King James Version:
For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.
The way this verse reads in the King James Version is a clear description of the Trinity. Indeed, it says that there are three that bear witness or bear record in heaven. These three are the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit. In addition, it says that these three are one. Why then, is there any controversy about this issue of the doctrine of the Trinity? These words could not be clearer!
The Problem Stated
Unfortunately, it is not that simple. Indeed, there has been a question about the authenticity of this passage. We will give a brief history of the problem as well as make some observations.
The New Testament Documents Were Originally Written in Greek
To begin with, we must note that the books of the New Testament were originally written in Greek. When they were first composed each of them were written upon perishable material. Immediately, copies were made of these original writings (called the autographs). These hand-written copies of the Greek autographs, called manuscripts, were then copied and recopied.
By the middle of the second century A.D., the books of the New Testament began to be translated and then copied into languages other than Greek. This hand-copying of the text in Greek, as well as in these other languages, continued until the invention of the printing press (about 1450). Furthermore, even some time after the printing press was invented the text was still copied by hand. In fact, it was not until the sixteenth century (1516) that a Greek New Testament was printed and published.
1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, to the saints which are at Ephesus, and to the faithful in Christ Jesus:
2 Grace be to you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:
4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:
5 Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,
6 To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.
7 In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;
8 Wherein he hath abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence;
9 Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself:
10 That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him:
11 In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:
12 That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ.
13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,
14 Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory
Several years ago, a coworker invited me to attend his church on Sunday. This brother and I often talked about the Lord and His word. As he was inviting me, and before I had a chance to respond, he told me to bring my Bible with me and to make sure it was a KJB. He said that they probably wouldn't let me in if I showed up with any other Bible.
I didn't commit. The only Bible I owned was a King James and that was the Bible I would have brought with me had I have gone. I chose not to show up. Had he not have said what he did, I probably would have gone.
I believe the Lord put it on my heart not to go there. That was many years ago.
I share this story because I am reminded of that time by the things I have been reading here over these past few months.
I would say that the church this brother invited me to fit the category of extremism. Does God really care what Bible version we read? Are we going to stand before God one day and be denied because we chose the wrong translation?
Before barking at me, please know that I read and study from the KJB. It is my Bible of choice. It is not important to me what translation others use. What's important to me is have you been born of God's Spirit.
The KJB is a very good translation, but I cannot say that it is a perfect one, and even though it is the Bible I study from, I do not believe it is superior to all others.
I do not adhere to KJB Onlyism. There are many of us here who choose the KJB, but we should be sensitive to the fact that there are brothers and sisters in Christ who come here that read other versions of the Bible. Should we view them any differently?
I wonder how they would have viewed me had I have shown up to the invite carrying an NIV/NASB/ASV, or any other English translation? Would they have let me in?
The Lord is going to receive all those who have surrendered their life to Him, and it's not going to matter which Bible you chose to read!
