I want to know when a person has done wrong in this life and a lot of it was very wrong and they have a mental illness that clearly doesn't help their decision making process are they bound to hell because they can't completely devote themselves as their thoughts can not focus normally?

Mishael, there are at least 20 states pushing for Roe vs Wade to be overturned on the when it is they will implement laws at the state level that each state will abide by. States like Texas, Indiana and Kentucky are waiting and hoping that the supreme court decides that abortion matters should be handled by each state. Mishael, I'm from Michigan and Michigan is a pro-choice state. If the supreme overthrows Roe vs Wade, our governor will try to use her executive privileges to make it legal for a woman to get an abortion. I'ts legal now, except in the case of rape or incest, but, and I might be wrong, a woman cannot have government intervention in deciding if she wants to get a abortion. I think the Michigan constitution makes it illegal for the government to intervene when deciding whether or not to have an abortion. I'm still not certain of the details of the Michigan constitution so pray for me. And continue to pray for me because I'm running for governor here in Michigan. Stay in touch. Respectfully submitted Joyce P. Gipson.

Mary. Your comment is a month old, yet I feel the need to comment on what you had said. When I read God's Word the color of one's skin never comes to mind. You maid a statement which has absolutely no credible evidence, but merely a fabricated "tale" much like the 1619 Project and Critical Race Theory. Let your mind be focused on Christ and fact, rather than on nonsense.

  • Need a Friend to explain the Hebrew language of This Passage - 2 years ago
I was hoping to find Chris. I need someone to explain in HEBREW; this subject in Hebrews, this verse on Melchizedek. I need some clarity.

    Context Summary

Hebrews 5:1-10 explains how Jesus fits the requirements of a high priest. Earlier verses showed that the Messiah promised by the Old Testament would be entirely human ( Hebrews 2:17). That humanity allows Christ to sympathize with our temptations and weaknesses. Here, the writer of Hebrews points out that this also makes Jesus qualified to be our ultimate High Priest. Because of His humanity, His prayers, His sacrifice for sin, and His appointment by God, Jesus' status is far superior to any other figure.

    Chapter Summary

Hebrews chapter 5 completes the previous commentary about Jesus' humanity. His human existence qualifies Him to understand other men and to offer sacrifice to God on our behalf. Jesus also fulfills the roles of both high priest and king, which the author demonstrates by returning to the Old Testament. The figure of Melchizedek is used to illustrate this point: that Christ, unlike any before, was able to be both the kingly Son of David and the High Priest for all people. The deeper meaning of this example, however, may well be lost on the letter's audience, since they are languishing in spiritual immaturity.

Mishael: I'm posting this from BibleRef DOT com

I haven't been able to reconcile this with a teaching I heard long ago. Particularly, that when Jesus came out of the Tomb_and Mary tried to touch Jesus, he told her not to. Reason, He was ascending to Heaven to be made High Priest. Her touching Him would have defiled Him.

I always meant to read this passage in the Hebrew language. If someone here can do that, I would love to Not feel conflicted. Melchizedek received the first tithes.

True believers in Christ where are y'all? Let us all come together in speak the truth freely about our Christ, Lord I'm 13 years old and I feel that we are getting closer and closer to the end times even though we don't know when that time may be but as it is written when you hear rumors of wars, nations risen against nations and kingdom going against kingdom, we are near the end times and everyday we hear something about wars and rumors, we even got people in different places around the world who are claiming to be Christ but please people don't fall for the lies of the son of man, Jesus said when he comes he is going to come from the clouds he didn't say he was going to go around saying he is Christ he said he's coming from the clouds. Moreover just know Jesus loves you and he is willing to forgive you if you would just come to him and ask him for forgiveness, may God please bless us all amen.

I joined this page as I wished to read about the blessed King James Bible from a basic fundamental perspective. I don't use social media and avoid any "Christian" websites due to the diverse false doctrines. As many have written great words of inspiration and wisdom. I see an equal amount who contribute doctrines which cause discord and a feeling of loss for new believers (denial of pre-tribulation rapture, denial of Heaven after death, denial of permanent Salvation/eternal security, etc). I'd ask this to those here in all transparency and understanding: are we making this a safe place for the newly born again to learn about the Holy Bible with the simple sound doctrines which are taught? Or are we complicating the Word of God?

    2 Corinthians 11:1-6

Would to God ye could bear with me a little in my folly: and indeed bear with me. For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ. But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him. For I suppose I was not a whit behind the very chiefest apostles. But though I be rude in speech, yet not in knowledge; but we have been throughly made manifest among you in all things.

If you're newly born again, the greatest truths you need to know in this Bible are:

Galatians 2:21 - I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.

Romans 10:9 - That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

    God bless you all.

Hi Jesse, I appreciate the follow up. Very interesting topic to discuss and I think the most important thing to recognize is that the true believer will test their faith and stay in the word of God. They will have a conviction if the are drawing back from God because that's the Holy Spirit working in them. Great explanation and thanks for clarifying. It's refreshing to have a conversation with a fellow believer who is not just trying to win a debate. I think as Christians we need to be united in our condition and faith in Christ if we are truly going to be the light of the world and lead the lost to Christ.

Since we are on the topic, I'd love if you can offer some insight on Romans 2: 6-8. That verse also appears to lead the reader to conclude eternal life can be lost. Your insight on this is greatly appreciated!

I know this is not a prayer request and I don't normally just post scripture here but I felt like posting this. Maybe it will help somebody today

    John 3:16-18

    16. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son, that who so ever believe in Him should not Perish but have everlasting life.

    17. For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world. But that the world through Him might be saved.

18.He that believeth on Him is not condemned, but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten son of God.

    Dear Amy

There are almost 3 different types of the Old Testament. The older is what is known as the Septuagint Bible. That is a translation into the Greek language of the Hebrew Scriptures done sometime during the 3rd centuary BC, written for the Greek speaking Jews living around the Mediterranean Sea at that time. There is the one that Hebrews use theselves that is called the Masoretic text. It is what the Jews canonised to be the Bible. That was finalized roughly the 4-5th centuary AD. There is another form not that much known, the "Dead see Scrolls'. Those are scrolls that were found in Israel sometime in the early 20th centuary and they originate from 300 BC to 300 AD. By examining them scientists found out that a part of them was the same as the Masoretic text, another part as the Septuagint text and the rest didnt coincide with either texts. That, they say, probably means that during Jesus's time things were a bit fluid. There were many verses of the OT around at that time, similar to one another but not the same.

Now the Catholic church, like the Eastern Orthodox church have included in the OT some books extra of the Masoritic text called the Apocrypha. Jews theselves rejected those books as not divinely inspired.

There are also some other books that both Christians and Jews rejected. We can find reference of 2 of them in Jude's epistole. That confirms that things were as I said a bit fluid during ancient times. Same happened with the New Testament during the first 3 centuaries AD untill the Gospel was finally canonised. So which OT is the right one. I would say all 3 of them since their differences are not that important. I would exclude though the Apocrypha and not canonised texts. On internet you can find a lot of information about this topic.

Now about the Vatican hidding some books somewhere, I think those claims can not be serious.

I do not believe once saved always saved, this is saying you can fall back into sin and still be saved.

If you fall back into sin, sin cannot inter Heaven. Thank about it.
