Scripture speaks to us of Jesus coming a second time to fully redeem all believers and to judge all persons who have ever lived.
Scripture speaks of Jesus returning on the clouds of heaven, with a loud shout, with the sound of a trump, and other audible sounds. Scripture says that when this happens, all the dead will from the grave bodily to face judgement.
Scripture says that when Jesus returns, those who died as believers will be raised up first, receiving their incorruptible, immortal resurrection bodies just like Jesus' is, and then those believers who are alive will be changed without dying and receive their incorruptible, immortal resurrection bodies like Jesus' is. We all will have glorified bodies, souls, and spirits.
Scriptures says that all believers will then meet Jesus in the air at His return.
Scriptures says that unbelievers will be resurrected in their bodies, these will be immortal bodies, but remain corrupted by sin. They will not meet Jesus in the air.
Scriptures also say that Jesus stand on the earth at this time and judge all people. Those who believed in Him will spend eternity with Him in heaven. Those who did not believe will spend eternity tormented in hell with the devil and his angels.
So, yes, believers will be "raptured" (though Scripture does not use this term). We will be caught up in the air with Jesus.
As to when this occurs, there are many schools of thought. But Scripture does not definitively give a specific time when this occurs. Many deduce their conclusions on this from various Scriptures. So, there is not a unified consensus within the church when this "catching up" will occur in history.
Rapture (seizing, a carrying off) just by this definition there are 7 raptures. But thee Rapture and start of Tribulation is the one most are referring too.
(1) Genesis 5:24 Enoch was raptured by definition
(2) 2 Kings 2:11 Elijah was raptured
(3) Ephesians 4:8-9 Those captive in the earth free and raptured to Heaven. OLD TESTAMENT Saints
(4) 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 Dead in Christ first, then we which are alive meet the LORD in the air.
(4) Revelation 4:1 RAPTURE OF ALL RAPTURES and Start of Tribulation
(5) Revelation 7:14 These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. (out of, meaning they were in it. Raptured saved and repented saints from 4:1 to to the sixth seal
Revelation 7:15 Therefore are they before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in his temple: and he that sitteth on the throne shall dwell among them." (servants)
(6) Revelation 11:12 (two witnesses raptured after rev 13:7)
(7) Revelation 12:5 (144,000, the manchild raptured)"
Someone wants to teach there is no rapture.
1 Timothy 6:3-5
3 If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness; 4 He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings, 5 Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.
Yes. Jesus will take His Church out of the world before the tribulation just as angels took Lot out of Sodom before the judgment fell. God had not appointed Lot to suffer the wrath He poured out on Sodom and God has not appointed the Church to suffer the wrath He will execute on the wicked during the tribulation ( 1 Thess 5:1-9) and ( 1 Thess 4:13-18.)
Rapture isn't in the Bible. A gathering together of Saints is, however. After the tribulation
Please read these scriptures documented as Jesus Words: Matthew 24, Mark 13, clearly state after the tribulation, Luke 21:6-36,
2Thessalonians 2, Revelation 6, - Revelation 8, many troubles pass, Revelation 8:2,6,7, Angels with trumpets start to sound. Revelation 10, starts the mystery to be finished note the clouds, 7th Trumpet begins to sound, quite possibly also known as the "last trump" Revelation 10:7, Please continue on to Revelation 11, note Revelation 11:15,
Revelation 14:14,
Revelation 6:14, Amos 5:18-20, Joel 2, Zephaniah 1:14-18,
We will suffer Tribulation : Deuteronomy 4:30, John 16:33, Matthew 24:29-31, Mark 13:24-27, Acts 14:22, 1Thessalonians 3:4,
Hope, endurance & Love of GOD through all tribulation: Romans 8:34-39, 2Corinthians 1:3-13, Romans 12:12, 2Peter 2:4-9,
Is the great falling away because of tribulation, false teachings of rapture without trials? Matthew 13:17-21, 2Thessalonians 2:2
Christ says Himself that He comes at a time we do not expect ( Luke 12:40). With a timeline in Daniel and Revelation pretty clear as to a 7 year Tribulation; as well as several periods of time within that framework as well; we can see through this and other verses that it will come suddenly and as a snare to the whole earth ( Luke 21:35). Also see Rev. 3:10.
Now; we are considered "firstfruits" ( 1 Cor. 15:20; 23 etc). There is also the 144,000 ( Rev. 14:4) who appear in heaven. It would seem they are in the "Mid Trib" event; although some would say it isn't clear if they raptured or Resurrected. The 2 witnesses are technically "Resurrected" although with their bodies not yet fully decayed. In any event; we must not forget that the dead in Christ are Resurrected immediately before the Rapture ( 1 Thess. 4:16).
Going back to my original point; when we look at the comparisons to the time of Noah (when everyone was marrying; building; buying and selling) and Sodom when proud deviancy was happening with a disregard to natural affections we begin to understand what Christ was saying in Matthew 24:37 and other verses. This can compare with the state of the Laodicean church which many say is signifying the last type of world church chronologically before the events of Rev. 5 and therefore seems to characterize today's typical mega church. Surely; this will disappear shortly after the Rapture; although some will continue with the false world religion as reprobates and reap certain benefits while the disparity with the rest of the world reaches record heights. We must keep in mind 2 Thess. 2:9 and following as to the delusion God allows through; no doubt the man of sin with the first seal. The Prophet Daniel shows his "policy of craft" in chapter 8; verse 25. It further shows that peace will cause destruction of many and it is a Covenant with Death and Hell ( Isaiah 28:15). Notice it is the PEOPLE who outwardly BOAST of such an agreement; pure blasphemy.
Yes and to be clear when someone says "there's no rapture in the Bible." That's false. Harpazo in Greek mean "to be caught up" which later when many Bibles in the 2nd-century were translated to Latin this became "rapturo" which by the time English Bibles were translated...the word meant 'rapture.' That aside...
Will there be a rapture and when?
he strongest evidence in the Bible of a Pre-Tribulation Rapture (that is, the Biblical doctrine that Jesus Christ will return FOR the saints BEFORE the 7-year Tribulation period) is the PROPHESIED ELEMENT OF SURPRISE! Plainly, the Lord Jesus taught that NO MAN KNOWS THE TIME of His return. Matthew 24:44, "Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh." Luke 12:40, "Be ye therefore ready also: for the Son of man cometh at an hour when ye think not." Anything other than a Pre-tribulation Rapture (in time of event) totally REMOVES this Biblical element of surprise.
A "Falling Away" Must Happen First
In the following Scriptures, we read the term "a falling away" . . .
"Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him, That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;" - 2nd Thessalonians 2:1-3
Matthew 13:40, "As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world."
Clearly this is a completely different and separate event than the Rapture, when the saints are removed instead. It would be silly to conclude that BOTH events happen at the Second Coming of Christ (that is, at the same time).
The word ' rapture' is not biblically accurate and a more accurate word would be " translated " as in Enoch was translated "in the days of Noah" who passed through the judgement on the world but was saved for " he found grace in the sight of the Lord "
But his walk was not perfect who later got drunk and all the trouble that followed from that .
Enoch however walked by faith rather than "moved with fear" and saw not the flood and was translated before it
So likewise the Bride of Christ .
Abraham who was in the " time of Lot" walked by faith ,Lot walked by sight .
He was blind to the hour in which he lived though not blind to the prevailing sin . He was counted righteous " for his righteous soul was vexed with the filthy conversation of the wicked "
But his walk was not perfect . He too got drunk and we can read all the problems that followed from that .
Never the less he was saved but "suffered loss as through fire "
Fr at the beginning he was as prosperous as Abraham so much so the land could not contain them both .
But at the end Lot lost everything save the saving of his own soul.
So shall it be t the end for some who are counted righteous but walk by sight .
Yes, there will be a rapture, as for when, I think 2 Thessalonians chapter 2 gives us a time frame of what to look for. So, if I had to pick between Pre-trib, Mid-trib, Pre-wrath (is this a new one?) or Post-trib, based on everything that I have read, I would say Post-trib seems to be the "when". Some people confuse the great tribulation with God's Wrath, it's not the same thing, these are two totally different events. There is no such thing as viles of tribulation. There are 7 viles of wrath in Revelation 16.
Matthew 24:3-14 tell us signs of the end (verse 15-16 is speaking to those in judea during tribulation. Mark 13:14)
13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.
End: From a primary tello (to set out for a definite point or goal); properly, the point aimed at as a limit, i.e. (by implication) the conclusion of an act or state (termination (literally, figuratively or indefinitely), result (immediate, ultimate or prophetic), purpose); specially, an impost or levy (as paid) -- + continual, custom, end(-ing), finally, uttermost. a. termination, the limit at which a thing ceases to be, (in the Greek writings always of the end of some act or state, but not of the end of a period of time
Matthew 24:15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)" (during tribulation)
Matthew 24:16 Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains:" (THOSE IN JUDAEA DURING TRIBULATION)
Mark 13:14 But when ye shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not, (let him that readeth understand,) then let them that be in Judaea flee to the mountains:"
Perhaps a better word to use would be " translation" which happened to Enoch before the great flood of Gods wrath upon a very wicked world .
It should be noted that Enoch was so translated and ever saw the flood . Noah was saved through it .
As in the times of Noah so shall it be .It should also be noted that Abraham was nowhere near Sodom etc butLot was living among them .
It shouid also be noted that in the beginning Lot was as ' blessed ' as faithful Abraham so much so the land was unable to bear them . So they separated. Lot chose his course by sight Abraham walked by faith .
The next time you hear of Lot he is captured with them and the next was living among them . Though he was counted righteous . " For Is righteous soul was vexed" Yet Lot lost nigh on everything but his own soul " as through fire".
" As it was in the days of Lot so shall it be.."
There is a mistaken belief that once you are " born again" you are automatically in the Bride of Christ .
It is true that every true born child of God is CALLED to that" high calling" but while many are calked few are chosen .
In the Olympics and want to participate Yiu havevto qualify to run the race . To be born agsin qualifies us to run the race . The unsaved are but spectators and " have not seen life yet" . Thus though we are qualified to run the race set before us we must do so as Paul says lawfully to win the prize . Not trying to fulfill the law but doing those things necessary to win us the prize .
And what does the Spirit say to the church ? " Behold I stand at the door and knock and if any man has ears to hear and opens the door ." Not all in the church have ears to hear . Or arecto 'busy' with their own things to hear or think " they have need of nothing" The question to ask is if after the resurrection The Lord has no problems with locked doors . Why is He unwilling to enter His own church! ?
Out of the 12 tribes there was one who had no inheritance for God was their inheritance.
