The Bible views suicide as equal to murder, which is what it is-self-murder. God is the only one who is to decide when and how a person should die. We should say with the psalmist, "My times are in your hands" ( Psalm 31:15).
God is the giver of life. He gives, and He takes away ( Job 1:21). Suicide, the taking of one's own life, is ungodly because it rejects God's gift of life. No man or woman should presume to take God's authority upon themselves to end his or her own life.
Some people in Scripture felt deep despair in life. Solomon, in his pursuit of pleasure, reached the point where he "hated life" ( Ecclesiastes 2:17). Elijah was fearful and depressed and yearned for death ( 1 Kings 19:4). Jonah was so angry at God that he wished to die ( Jonah 4:8). Even the apostle Paul and his missionary companions at one point "were under great pressure, far beyond our ability to endure, so that we despaired of life itself" ( 2 Corinthians 1:8).
However, none of these men committed suicide. Solomon learned to "fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the duty of all mankind" ( Ecclesiastes 12:13). Elijah was comforted by an angel, allowed to rest, and given a new commission. Jonah received admonition and rebuke from God. Paul learned that, although the pressure he faced was beyond his ability to endure, the Lord can bear all things: "This happened that we might not rely on ourselves but on God, who raises the dead" ( 2 Corinthians 1:9).

Like he said, if one is saved and excepts Christ before committing suicided then yes, all sin is forgiven. Blasphemy (denying Christ) of the holy spirit is the ONLY unforgivable sin. Never sell your soul to satan.. it happens way more than you think
Samson committed suicide, do you think he was saved? It's like being saved always saved and I believe that. Salvation is not of works it is of faith, you did nothing to get it and you will do nothing to lose it. You also have to ask the question, what kind of mind frame was the person in. I have considered it before, have you? If that question was answered truly I bet we all have one time or the other. I do however want to make my possession clear, a person has to be born again. No unsaved person will ever get into Heaven unless he or she is washed in the blood of the lamb,(Jesus Christ).
In my opinion I say no. No because if one is saved why kill themselves. According to EXODUS 20:13 AND Deuteronomy 5:17 It is forbidden to murder or as it says . you shall not murder. That would be breaking a commandment. Now if the person is slowing dying and repents at that very moment and regrets what they have done there could be a chance to be saved by grace. Ultimately it is up to God. But I would not risk it.
The bible tells us God will never leave us nor forsake us unless we forsake Him by "denying His son Jesus Christ"..which is the ONLY "unforgivable sin".! So YES, IF your saved & knowJesus is the ONLY way truth & life & are following Him daily Reading, Studying & Learning His word & Loving God w/all your being & our neighbor as yourself, then we won't want to leave this world in a suicidal manner, no matter the evil that dwells amunst us. For w/Christ we have the peace that passes ALL understanding & will stand for Him unwaving when ppl mock Him. Spreading His true word, not the twisted lies & corruptions satan & his minions (fake news, music & movie stars) fill our mind with in this evil world. Yet, if you want, leading others to Him because we love them (NOT their sin) as He first loved us.! P.S. If you know the bible & don't want to suffer every second 24/7/365/Eternity you will repent(change your mind). When He reachers for you, "you'll feel it", & He will change your heart.! "If you don't" it's because satan is holding you captive. Say: get behing me satan, in Jesus name I demand you flee from my life.! Then the Holy Spirit will help you replacing your sadness w/a calm peace. Tho if your NOT saved, then it will be satan holding you down causing you to spend eternity in hell. Evil promises you worldly treasures for the short life you have on earth. If you don't "earnestly" call out "Jesus" you will succeed in commiting suicide & never know He already forgave you & how much He loves you & how super happy you can be if you call to Him. He will answer. All is in His time for His glory so don't get discourage if you hit hard times.! I'm pertnear homeless but never been happier!!!
suicide is irreversible sin , You cannot ask for forgiveness before you commit the sin , then turn around and commit this sin then theres was no true repentance so there could not be forgivenesses , repent is to (turn away from it)
That leaves some significant "unfinished business" to deal on Judgment day
We are God temple. 1 corinthians 3:17
If anyone destroys God's temple, God will destroy that person; for God's temple is sacred, and you together are that temple
I pray for strength in the Lord may you find a church with brothers and sisters who will help you grow stronger in the Lord Jesus Christ and shower you with love. Of the Lord But looking to him our Lord he's the author and finisher he will give you peace of passes all understanding continue to put your trust in him hold every thought that goes against his word into captivity Jesus name I pray your strength
My son was saved and had a heart for God. he also suffered with mental illness. He was bullied in school and very much of a loner. He always told me could never hurt others the way he had been hurt. He was my world.I raised him to know Jesus. I had him in a Christian school. Lots of counseling prayed he would make friends. tried to get him to move forward. But one argument over a test. he lost his temper and took his own life.So I disagree with what you say. He was not in his right mind. he had a heart for the Lord. And Jesus allowed him to come home. God reached down to the depths of the earth and restored my son in heaven. I am broken and a witness for Christ. I know that I will see my son again. You dont know the heart of a person but God knows. And he is our judge. He decides who to show mercy to. And I know with my whole being that Jesus has brought Sam safely home. If what you are saying is true. What happens when a dementia patient who has lost their mind becomes enraged and some even deny they know God. Do they lose their salvation? My son didnt plan to take his life. He made a horrible choice. But God knew this was going to happen. Sam was destined to be with me for 18 years on this earth. I am so blessed that God allowed me to be his mom. My heart is broken but God is carrying me every step of the way. And I know my son is whole and happy in Heaven surrounded pure Love....
I'm so so sorry to hear of the loss of your son; my heart and prayers go out to you and your family
I was referring to willful sinning with the full knowledge. I believe people with mental illness that are mentally handicapped are covered by God's grace and mercy. Amen
The Lord does not willingly afflict, yet his wise love often appoints sharp trials, to show his people their hearts, and to do them good at the latter end. Gold does not increase by trial in the fire, it becomes less; but faith is made firm, and multiplied, by troubles and afflictions. Gold must perish at last, and can only purchase perishing things, while the trial of faith will be found to praise, and honour, and glory. Let this reconcile us to present afflictions. Seek then to believe Christ's excellence in himself, and his love to us; this will kindle such a fire in the heart as will make it rise up in a sacrifice of love to him. And the glory of God and our own happiness are so united, that if we sincerely seek the one now, we shall attain the other when the soul shall no more be subject to evil. The certainty of this hope is as if believers had already received it.

God gave us [his creation life] we can't take our own life. I believe there are several scriptures that support life and living life to the fullest and on purpose.
Also, I believe there are several scriptures that indicate the evil forces of darkness that come to take or diminish our life and keep us from fulfilling our God given purpose.
Even a believer can have an experience of intense suicidal thoughts. That is when to reach out for help. When a believer experiences intense or mild suicidal thoughts having an understanding helps. The brain is a complex and vital organ that can get sick. Understanding that a brain is malfunctioning, not working in a right way but in a negative way is crucial. Don't trust negative thoughts or thinking. Negative thoughts are not telling the truth and are deceitful.
I look at suicidal thoughts in the same way as intense lustful thoughts, since the suicide thoughts tell you or make you feel that the only way to feel better is to give in to the thoughts and commit the act, that is not true at all.
Suicide is disobeying God, obey God and live get some help for yourself or your love ones and Enjoy Everyday Live again. Don't delay get help NOW.
I don't believe you will be saved if one takes ones life, don't obey or listen to a negative thought that tells one to find out for yourself, its a lie. God loves you, he gave his son to die for your sins. Jesus sacrificed his life so that you can live life to the fullest.
"And one of the malefactors which were hanged railed on him, saying, If thou be Christ, save thyself and us." "But the other answering rebuked him, saying, Dost not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation?" "And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this man hath done nothing amiss." "And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom." Luke 23:39-42 KJV
When a person wants to end their life (suicide by choice) due to suffering, consider the thief on the cross, who clearly admitted guilt while being crucified at the same time as Christ. Here is a person, who did the most, the least and probably everything in between because to be crucified in that time it had to be clear that a person was guilty of many many offenses. While suffering he came to himself, suffering can cause a person to come to themselves (or their true identify or fullness in Christ) and realize that they need God and how they need God. His suffering caused him to come into the understanding to fully realize his need for God. In his case, unfortunately, it seems to it took all his guilty deeds, then suffering to get him to a place to recognize his standing with God. I don't condone this type of inhumane punishment. God knows all about the suffering of man, and God cares.
In whatever we go through I believe God is working something out in us and through us. God can use a person's suffering in many ways. If we hold on a little while longer we could be healed, a cure could be discover to heal or bring some level of relief, if only we just wait. Maybe a person has lived their best good and honest life, yet find suffering, then also consider Job, who suffered and lived a good and righteous life. Job was confronted with suicide, and made a choice to live, as a result Job received a great healing, deliverance and blessing from God, likewise a sinner repented and was granted salvation. Look up and live.
