David Absolutely he was in a culture that had more gods and holidays than we have now between the greeks and romans which worshipped intellect and nature and self then other cultures that worshipped the galaxy i.e. planets or a combination of all of what I stated. Christsmasses origination is Romans Saturnalia celebration in origin. So indeed what Paul was talking about in colossians 2:16-23 covers all this stuff.
Tradions of men? Do you suppose that celrbrating pagan holidays like christmas, easter.Halloween, lent, ash wednesday, all souls day,all sainys day or any traditions mentioned in the Tanakh would fall under the tradions that Paul is referring to?
Tried to answer your question but it was cesored I guess. Yes we should be able to talk about really difficult controversial subjects! Many do & sometimes it's allowed._._._. 2020 & 2021 are the most controversial. Lol
Why are there not more comments from 2021 or 2020 ? We all should walk daily. I know I do. Still trip over my feet some days....thankfully the Lord doesn't mind a klutz !LOL
Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit , after the tradition of men , after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ .

Colossians 2:7...We are to abound in the love and the understanding of the truth that is in Christ, with thanksgiving. It is not saying to abound in thanksgiving. Thanksgiving abounds in itself from abounding in the things that draw us closer and closer to Christ.
Yes. Rom 11:12-14: "Now if the fall of them (Israel) be the riches of the world, and the diminishing of them the riches of the Gentiles; how much more their fulness? For I speak to you Gentiles, inasmuch as I am the apostle of the Gentiles, I magnify mine office: If by any means I may provoke to emulation them which are my flesh (Israel), and might save some of them."
His primary ministry was to the Gentiles, but that didn't stop Paul for taking opportunities to minister to his own people, the Jews. Also read Acts chapter 13 for an example of his ministry to the Jews also.
I'm interested to know about which old documents you are referring. What reference or proof do you have that the word "elect" was not in the original Greek? I'm hoping this is true, but it could be too difficult for anyone to show this because of lost scrolls, fake documents accepted as authentic by some, and just too many centuries have passed
Anyway, I've checked that the ancient Greek word eklektos was translated correctly as the adjective "elect" in the 1611 KJV. Others translated it as "chosen". Note that eklektos is an adjective, a descriptor, a word that is an attribute or characteristic. It is not a noun or a verb or even the past tense of the verbs to choose, to select & to elect as Calvinists have misinterpreted and misunderstood. Example sentence starting with an adj. : (Sam is) Amusing according to Kim's letters
Eklektos must be translated as a characteristic or quality as it was intended to be descriptive. So, in English the adjectival meaning of 'Elect' is: worthy to be chosen, favourite, preferred, and or "selected for an office, but not yet inducted". Likewise, when "chosen" is used instead of 'elect' as an adjective, chosen means: preferred, to be selective from a number (of available). 'Preferred' would've been the better English translation to stop the arguments
What's more, "foreknowledge" is "prognosis" in ancient Greek. So that sentence means 'We are preferred by God, according to His ability to see into the future, to be sanctified for obedience'. It's not the Calvinist 'The Chosen Ones according to His will'

Amen -we must preach and teach the Gospel of repentance and remission of sins for it is this Gospel that shall be preached in all the world for a witness to all nations and then shall the END come. He that endures to the END, the same shall be saved. There is only "One Faith of JESUS"
We have too be strong in the Lord, believing every word from the mouth of God. Temptation come in many forms. Satan desire to sift us Christians as wheat. Unbelievable times are here, just as the prophets preached back then, tell who all would listen to repent and pray, and turn back from your wicked way. They didn't , so here we are faced with that same diliema. Choose God, he will never leave you nor forsake you. Let us all learn from the past. In reference to Colossians chapter 2
The 2nd Chapter of Colossians is on atonement in general, but I believe Paul is dealing with the ultra religious, those who 'swallow a camel, but strain out a gnat. Matthew 23:24
Ref: Further in Chapter 2:21 (Touch not; taste not; handle not; 2:22 Which all are to perish with the using;) after the commandments and doctrines of men? 2:23 Which things have indeed a shew of wisdom in will worship, and humility, and neglecting of the body: not in any honor to the satisfying of the flesh.
the precept of this verse can be found at Ezekiel chapter 45 verse 16 and 17 paul was referring to atonement and how Christ body superceeds animal sacrifice shalom
The 7th day was blessed before Adam was created; only the races had been created (6th day). So it wasn't for the Jews but for mankind. On March 7, 321 Roman Emperor Constantine I issued a civil decree making Sunday a day of rest from labor, stating: All judges and city people and the craftsmen shall rest upon the venerable day of the sun. Constantine chose Sunday to be the day for Christian worship as it already enjoyed special status in the Roman week. Named after the Pagan Sun God Invictus, Sunday had become the day when wages were paid to workers, leading it to be seen as a day of celebration and thanks. In corresponding the Christian Sabbath with an already established day of rest, Constantine ensured that his decree would be accepted swiftly and harmoniously.
Council of Laodicea - 364 AD is where the catholic church made worshiping on the sabbath illegal and required it to be on the first, which was the day of Sun worship. Think GOD likes being worshiped on pagan holiday.
Do you know that there were other sabbath days apart from the seventh day Sabbath? There were foods and drinks that were taken in certain days? Leviticus 23. These were written in the Mosaic Law and Christ nailed them on His Cross. These were shadows of His ultimate sacrifice. But any in the 10 commandments is a show of God's character, LOVE, to God and to your neighbor. This Christ came to affirm
And this I say lest any Man should beguile you with enticing words. As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, SO walk ye in him: For IN HIM dwells all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. And ye are complete in him, which IS THE HEAD of ALL principality and POWER: Let no Man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an Holy day, or of the new moon, or of the SABBATH DAYS:
In my Ministry to those who had left Cults I found that they still could not accept The Godhead v9 or as we call Them today The Trinity both meaning 3inOne -1John5:7 They are One in Spirit but have different Roles, The Father is in Authority as confirmed in 1Corinthians15:24-28 Lets Pray for all those who have been deceived that their Spiritual eye's will be opened to God's Truth. Blessings Anne.
Insightful! Some religions teach that you must suffer or hurt your body in order to be pleasing to God, this scripture helps us to reason. It is through an accurate knowledge of God's word that our body can be brought into subject. God's word touches our heart and motivates change. We can fast, mark, deny, ourselves but that may not be necessary. Allow God's word to motivate change, not pain.

I just watched one and they're good. :)
The best Bible story of a young teen is the one about David, who would be King someday. Also Samuel.
Allow me to caution that most videos on YouTube are NOT edifying (makes you feel happy inside). Be wise beloved son, of God.
