Gabriel decrees that the Messiah, Jesus will be put to death following the second period of 62 sevens or 434 years. If as many historians believe the birth of Jesus was in 4 BC, this accurately proclaims the year that Jesus was crucified.
25 Know therefore and understand that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and build Jerusalem unto Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks (49 years)and three score and two weeks (434 years) the street shall be built again and the wall even in troublesome times.
Artaterxes in 453 BC gave the commandment to rebuild Jerusalem. The wall was rebuilt in 404 BC. Jesus was crucified in 30 AD. Shabua is the Hebrew word meaning a seven year period.
26 And after three score and two weeks (434 years) shall Messiah be cut off but not for himself (crucified) and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary thereof, shall be destroyed with a flood and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.
27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week(7 years) and in the midst of the week (3.5 years) he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.
Mathew 24:15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination spoken of by Daniel the prophet standing in the holy place (whoso readeth let him understand). This is the defining sign before Jesus returns.
Then follows great tribulation from the midst of the week for 3.5 years prior to the return of Jesus to gather His elect (His Bride the Church triumphant).
Mt 24:29,30, 31 describe the return of Jesus after the tribulation. Joel 2:21 describes the sun being turned into darkness and the moon into blood before the great and terrible day of the Lord. 1Thessalonians 4:15, 16, 17 describe the return of the Lord, also heralded by a trumpet. of a trumpet.
Hello, I'm not sure death would be the right word for it, but maybe transformed into a spiritual body and maybe being stripped of the old earthly body. The scripture says we will be caught up in the air, but the rest is my own personal belief which everyone seems to have a different view of and the speculating isn't a salvation issue. God bless.
No, I'm sorry but the rapture does exist. Modern theologians started denying it about 20-years ago as a new replacement theological trend. YouTube videos and false doctrine social media "preachers" have been misleading people on this in the last decade.
The Church will be removed from the earth BEFORE the appearing of the Antichrist ( 2nd Thessalonians 2:7,8). There isn't one verse in the entire Bible which indicates that the Church will go through the Tribulation period. In fact, if you want proof of a Pretribulation Rapture, you'll find it simply by studying the Bible. If we compare Scriptures having to do with the Translation of the Church (i.e., the Rapture), with those passages relating to the setting up of Christ's Kingdom, one can only reasonably conclude that it would be utterly IMPOSSIBLE for these two events to occur simultaneously. Let's look at some of the comparisons:
Matthew 25:31,32 - "When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory. And before him shall be gathered all nations" Carefully notice that Jesus is going to sit upon His throne in Jerusalem when He returns, and the nations of earth will be gathered before Him to be judged. How can this fact be reconciled with 1st Thessalonians 4:17, which states that the saints will be caught up together to meet with the Lord in the air?
If people stuck with the simple prophetic truths in the Bible and stopped listening to internet preachers...all this denial about the rapture, tribulation, 2nd coming, etc...wouldn't have become so contrived and over inflated. I see the modern church reaching a contradictory point of twisting Scripture and confusing masses to the point of eventually just denying everything.
i dont believe in the pretrib doctrin there is to much scripture saying we will go through the tribulation but there will be a rapture after the tribulation and yes at that moment we will die but will be transfomed into a glorious body at a instance all men must die this body cant enter in
The Bible says that every man is distant die, it also says that during the rapture we will be taken up to meet the lord in the clouds. Will we die during the rapture?
Dear "Bobbie J Ricks". There is no end to the blessings of reading and studying the Word of God. Actually, I do not want anything else. But then it is the body that demands its. And I understand that the joy and love we have received comes from God through Jesus Christ, and now today as then in the Holy Spirit.
So read, go on a journey of discovery, in the book that makes all ppl come alive! It's just for everyone and address as much as they want. Fill yourself with the Truth.
But also remember and pray the prayer that Jesus has taught us.
Matthew 6:6 But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.
7 But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.
8 Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.
9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
11 Give us this day our daily bread.
12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Be greatly blessed in the Word my friend, love you in Jesus Christ
WOW! Thank you PT Jones for your insight on Daniel 9:27. When you read dan Ch 9 on my own with no perceived teaching, vs 27 seems to follow right in line, it flows as the Jesus as the Prince & the one to confirm (perfect I learned extended meaning) of the covenant. Again Thanks so much! Keep drawing nearer to the Lord Jesus and occupy til He comes!
All prophecies concerning the last days are based upon Daniel 9:24-27, which presents the 70th week of Daniel. The 70th week is actually a 7-year period, not 490 years. In prophecy, 69 weeks have passed. Right now we are living in a time period known as the "Times of the Gentiles." It's the time from the death of Christ, until the rapture. We do not know the time period. We are in that period now; it is called the time of the Gentiles.
The next event to happen is the rapture of the church. And from the rapture of the church until the second coming of Christ, it is called the 70th week of Daniel. We have had 69 weeks, 483 years. And those 483 years ended at the crucifixion of Christ. But now, there is this time period which is called the time of the Gentiles, between the death of Christ, and His coming for His church. And we don't know the time frame, but as soon as the church is removed, as soon as the tribulation period begins, there will be seven years, that is, one week, 1 seven in Jewish literature. There will be seven years of tribulation. This is known as the 70th week of Daniel.
Thank you brother S. Spencer. That was indeed a special directive from the Lord to me which was both unusual & yet very specific - I had been praying much about the matter as I felt the Lord leading me that way, but not knowing the path to take. But it took patience & a constant looking to the Lord over a number of years. And even this may not be quite the experience of many, though I'm certain that both you & others here have at times sensed being led in a direction in life or sharing a word with someone, or even given extra power or courage, that didn't come from any inclination of the mind or body, rather being compelled to do so by the Spirit (i.e. being taken & drawn forward by the arm, by God).
Romans 8:14: "For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God". Often we read this verse as given, but I like to also read it backwards: 'if you're a child of God, then you WILL be led by the Spirit of God'. A similar rendering, but the emphasis being on 'being led'. We could add, 'where the Holy Spirit wants to go, we will go as well - what He wants to do, we will do as well'. His indwelling us is more than an earthly temple to dwell in, but to get the Work of God accomplished through us. But it's a sad day when we resist Him. Every blessing brother.
Hello Hilarion Charles. Whenever we feel or believe that God has spoken to us, whether in a dream, whilst in prayer, or from reading His Word, He will always confirm His Message to us in other ways. I think of young Samuel (in 1 Samuel 3:1-10) when he heard a voice speak to him in the night. Supposing that voice to be of the aged Eli, he went to him. But the voice was actually from God, & God continued to call him & finally gave him His Word only when Samuel spoke, "Speak Lord, for Thy servant heareth".
Back in 1987, I heard the Spirit's Voice, whilst in prayer, directing me to go out & serve in overseas Missions. I was even told the name of Mission organization which I hadn't heard of before. I could hardly believe that deep sense of conviction I had in me. I continued to pray about it asking if that was truly God's Message & if He would order my future actions to meet that end. I shared this encounter with no one, but waited for God to move. So, in a series of events, with the sale of my home to a buyer who had never seen house (I hadn't even advertised it nor employed a selling agent), the buyer who lived in the UK whom I'd never met, & who paid me a price that was above the market value, I sensed the Lord was in control & directing me. And with various other occurrences (providing all the finances, etc.), the Lord made it amply clear that this Word was from Him & He was in control.
Sorry, I can't interpret your dream about your ring & the Word given to you, but I can share with you, that if that's God's Word to you, then hand that matter over to God, asking Him to make that Word abundantly clear to you in the days & weeks ahead, making it a very real burden upon your heart, & to open up the way (even through the obstacles) to see the goal achieved. If God is not it, then leave it be & continue to praise Him with all your heart & remain faithful in every aspect of your life. In so doing, you will surely hear from your Heavenly Father again. Blessings.
I am baptised i had a dream wearing a ring, and removed the ring in the dream upon moving the ring , i heard a voice told me that you started a ministry , i want you to go back and start the ministry ,
can you please shed some light on this dream of mine
Daniel 9:26-27. After 69 weeks the Messiah will cut off. He will be rejected. After that the people of the Prince (Jesus)to come will destroy the city and the Holy Sanctuary. The Prince used in two the two passages are one and the same. The people of Prince referred here was the Roman army.Because the Jews rejected their Messiah and killed Him. So that they are also rejected by God and they are no longer God's own people. After stoning of Stephen in AD 34 Jews sealed their fate and 70 weeks prophecy completed for the Jews and the gospel went to gentiles through Apostle Paul.So whoever believe in Jesus Christ are become His own people. Thus Romans are also His people. The abomination that desolated the Israel nation was rejecting their Messiah and killing Him.Through Jesus Christ by His sacrifice on the cross all sacrifices ended and the new covenant come in to force and it was sealed by His own blood.
Not that this is really that important to me. Wow. I don't think I've ever seen so many people ask about a certain book in the Bible in one day.
If anyone is wondering about that book that was read at someones funeral. Just scroll through the comments a bit and you'll see numerous answers given to numerous people about the same thing. Also the people that posted that are looking for the book the link to it is right next to your name.
The Apocrypha books were originally in the 1611 KJV Holy Bible. They only began removing them in 1885 as you can read on this page. As there are some things that some people didn't like. Also there are many things that connect directly to the teachings of the rest of the Holy Bible.
More meditations following these thoughts from Daniel.
Perhaps then, while these times were fulfilled by the Gentiles as mentioned in Romans 11 , there was a period of mercy for the root of Israel to grow branches in the New Covenant and this mercy was and had to be first as Israel was the first born, yet only a remnant came to the New Covenant and filled the branches while many branches were broken off by unbelief. Yet by mercy again in the New Covenant, these broken branches allowed the grafting in of the True believing Gentiles. Together they became one church and one baptism.
Daniel 24.Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy, Holy city to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for inequity and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy. The seventy weeks started in 456 BC and ended in 34 AD. The time period upto Messiah was seven weeks, and three score and two weeks. That is 7+62=69 weeks. ie 69*7=483 years. That is when Jesus was anointed - in CE 27. Daniel 9:27- And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and oblation to cease. ie in the midst of the seventh week ie AC 31 Jesus died in the cross and resurrected. Then after stoning to death of Stephen the gospel was given to gentiles as his own people rejected it AC 34.Thus the 70 weeks prophecy fulfilled in AC 34.This my understanding.
I agree with your understanding about the rebuilding of Jerusalem & its walls. But then, who is the Messiah referred to? I can't think of anyone that Daniel might consider to be a (type) of Messiah.
I would disagree with the statement that the days are prophetically years. Notice that it starts from the going forth of the decree to restore and rebuild Jerusalem. This was done in the times of Nehemiah and Ezra. To say the Messiah mentioned here is Jesus is troubling to me as I don't see him fulfilling the rest of the prophesy verbatim. It is much more likely that the prophesy was fulfilled literally as I believe a through study of the time will show/prove.
I know that the common belief is that Daniel 9:27 warns of a coming anti-christ. I hope you will consider that the one confirming the "covenant" with many is Christ and not anti-christ.
This chapter, Daniel 9, is a prayer for the forgiveness of Israel and that prayer is answered when Gabriel is sent to Daniel with a semi detailed timeline of the arrival of the Lord our Savior. Especially Note that Daniel 9:4 states "... O Lord, the great and dreadful God, keeping the COVENANT and mercy to them that love him...". Isn't this he covenant being spoken of in verse 27?
Daniel 9:25 essentially says that Messiah will appear upon the end of the first 69 weeks. This would coincide with about the time of the beginning of the ministry of Christ.
Daniel 9:26 says that 'after' 69 weeks Messiah will be cut off. Many people believe that Christ's ministry lasted about 3 1/2 years after which He was crucified.
Also notice the similarity between Daniel 9:27 "And he shall confirm the covenant with many..." and Mat 26:28 and Mar 14:24 where Christ's Words are very similar while He is having the last supper with His disciples. The word "testament" in these verses can also be translated "covenant".
Also, for scholars to suggest that satan confirms covenants is little ridiculous and I don't think that the Bible would support that notion.
I suspect that much of the visions which were given to Daniel are still sealed and will shortly begin to be revealed. I wouldn't put much stock in a "broken seven year covenant between satan and God's 'chosen people'". A belief that is based on an odd reading of Daniel 9:27.
Yes, Daniel 9:26 was accomplished at the coming of the Messiah and then in AD 70, Emperor Titus marched into Jerusalem & destroyed it. Verse 27 is also attributed to this invasion though some see it as a picture of the future Anti-Christ who comes to 'bring peace' in the middle east conflicts, yet mid-week through his reign breaks any covenant he makes with Israel, & indeed goes against her. From hereon, Israel's sorrows multiply.
In verse 23 shows that Jehovah God highly values his faithful older servants. Daniel was probably in his 90s here and Jehovah God referred to him as precious or very desirable. This is such a refreshing scripture because in our society older ones are not given the respect and honor they deserve. So we should work hard to have Jehovah's viewpoint of older ones and to express our affection for faithful older ones.
Daniel 9.26-27 tells us about our Lord's ministry and his crucification and prophecy about destruction of Israel and its sanctuary by Roman armies in 70 AD. Daniel 9.27 says he (Jesus) shall confirm the covenant with many for one week - (his gospel work )and in the midst of the week he (Jesus )shall cause the sacrifice and oblation(animal sacrifice) to cease - (by his sacrifice in the cross)and for over spreading of abominations he(Jesus) shall make it (animal sacrifice) desolate- Godforsaken- even until consummation and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate - the Israel nation.
The first part of verse 26 and verse 27 could be linked together as they are both referring to Jesus Christ, whereas, the second part of verse 26 is referring to the people of the Roman prince namely Antiochus who destroyed Jerusalem and the temple and its people in 70 A.D.
Gabriel decrees that the Messiah, Jesus will be put to death following the second period of 62 sevens or 434 years. If as many historians believe the birth of Jesus was in 4 BC, this accurately proclaims the year that Jesus was crucified.
