Obey your God and keep the commandments

I trusted in the Name of Christ and His work on the cross for my salvation ( Romans 10: 9-11). The word of the Lord is not open to any private interpretation, not my words but the Lord's word in 2 Peter 1:20.

Therefore as I grow in God's word my desire is that all will be included in God's Heaven. 2 Peter 3:9. That is why I go in Jesus Christ Name ( Acts 4: 10-12) and testify and witness to others about the gospel of Christ. It is my responsibility, my love for my Lord and Savior and also for the Lost in Christ to bring them to Christ. Matthew 28: 18-20.

If you read and study the Word of God, it will become evident why there are two gates. God is love and will not force anyone to trust in Him. Everyone has a choice, you choose. Or find a Bible believing church or a person whose been saved, reads the Bible, and serving God to help you make your decision about God's salvation and heaven. God is Love, but He is Holy first. God's desire is for all to be saved. Titus 3:5, 6

Call on God!! Before we pass into eternity and it will be too late.

    Hi Lauren,

I know we all go thru that mind set. Paul writes about it in Romans 7:11-25. The Lord knows our frame and helps us through His scriptures. It is not easy. Our responsibility is to search His Word and trust in its application to our lives. Gal 2:20; Col 3: 1-10; 1 Cor 10: 13 are passages that helped me. It takes time, however it gets easier as time goes by. Key is to keep working at it. The Lord is there for you. He wants us to succeed. Remember, it is His desire that we be like Christ. Romans 6:5; Phil 3:21; 1 John 3:2. Sorry didn't mean to give you so many verses, just wanted you to have enough "ammunition" to fight against the enemy and quench all his fiery darts Eph 6: 11-18. I used 3X5 cards to write the verses and carried them with me to help me memorize the verses.

God bless you, and know that the Lord is there for our success.

Thanks John Nolan, I appreciate your encouraging words and yes it is our job to help others find Christ as their Savior ( Matthew 28: 18-20). And for those in Christ, to abide in His Word. It's ignorance of the Word of God that Hebrews 6:6 comes into play. (see also v.4). The key word there is "if." Thanks for your faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

    Happy Father's Day everyone.

Tito, your concern makes me wonder if the Lord is calling you to be an evangelist? Because you care much for those who have not made a decision (for Christ) yet.

A month after salvation, I was out on the streets in Roswell NM (alien capital of the world) evangelizing the lost. I did not want anyone to ever go through what I went through.

You pray to the Lord of the Harvest, to raise up and send workers into the harvest SOON.

If you, yourself, know how to be saved; you know enough to tell someone else How To Be Saved. Tell them what convinced you. The Lord of the Harvest (Holy Spirit) will give you the words.

God will surely perform the Written Word of God (The Bible). There is no revision. Our born again spirits are screaming to us: Time is Almost Up.

    Revelation 22

14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life (Jesus Christ) and may enter in through the gates into the city.

15 For "outside" are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.

18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall ADD unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:

19 And if any man shall TAKE AWAY from the words of the book of this prophecy,

God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

Read how Jesus witnessed to Nicodemas in John 3.

Adam and Eve were alive spiritually to God. Adam talked to Him. After they sinned, that spiritual connection was broken. For them and for all of mankind born till NOW. Only Jesus can restore that connection. His holy blood was poured out on all mankind. Done! All that needs done, is to tell others it is a requirement to repent of wrongdoing and Receive The Free Gift of salvation: Jesus.

    Mishael,

I have never lost my Christian faith in Jesus, I have questions that you accept as sacrosanct. The Bible is not settled science, a collection of opinions, shrouded in multiple meanings. I just will not accept that Jesus would destroy his wayward children, fill their heads with torment and anguish. I question if Jesus will send souls to hell, or if it's hyperbole to control the masses from anarchy. I wonder about those who unwittingly take the mark, under duress, not knowing what they've done to protect themselves. God says He will completely blot these people out, REALLY?

Humans are not the smartest, and perhaps it might not take me that long to agree that God kills slack Christians even if He loves them to the second death. Preposterous. Everyone will rejoice with one another, ex-friend and ex-foe. What's believable, and what most refuse to believe, is God puts on His abomination of desolation and removes 2.5+ Billion people, indiscriminately. That is the mass killing I expect. It's going to be the greatest show on earth, and the dead will be resurrected at the end, recycled pure as the driven snow. The lake of fire usage doesn't matter to me too much, only just as long as everyone gets what's coming to them. It's God's business and no one knows what to expect but Him.

John Nolan, I really appreciate this. God bless you..... I think what is most confusing and difficult and steals from faith is that even after we are saved, we feel strong sensations in the body which the fleshly mind still calls "sin.' So we feel condemned, not holding fast to the Word that "there is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus." We continue to find our Identity in our mind, and not in the Word.... We confuse The experience of the sensations of sin with IDENTITY with sin. In other words, we think once we are saved we will feel bliss forever. In fact, the opposite has been my experience, the longer I walk in Christ, the more powerful the sensations. May we come to interpret these "hard" sensations as our Victory, as evidence of God's immense mercy. Not as, "oh, I am still a horrible sinner! I I can't help but sin to cover me from this horrible sensation' " We need to see aright!

    MATTHEW 7

12 Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.

13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leads to DESTRUCTION and MANY there be which go in thereat:

14 Because strait is the gate, and NARROW is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?

    Book of Acts 6:8

Why not read on the life of Paul. He is proof that Jesus calls the right person for the job in mind. Paul was born Jewish, educated and a Pharisee. He hooked up with the Romans, and was in town the day Stephen was about to be stoned for preaching Jesus. Paul gave the order for the stoning to begin. Before Stephen died, he saw Jesus stand up from His throne, to receive Stephen into heaven!

Paul leaves with death warrants for some more Jews. On the Damascus Road he gets knocked off his horse by the glory of Jesus. It was so light that it blinded Paul. Jesus asked him, Why Are You Persecuting ME?!

They pick Paul up and take him to the next town. Someone there prayed for Paul, and he gets his sight back. He had some days as a blind man to ponder what had happened. Later Jesus tells Paul he is sent to evangelize the Gentiles (everybody that's not a Jew)

He started out rowdy and wrong; got knocked off into the dirt. Spent 3 hrs in a desert alone with Jesus. He wasn't tall; eyes were kinda runny?

He wrote half of the New Testament. Whatever Jesus spoke, Paul preached it. He worked as a tent-maker. He was a gutsy dude.

When I saw your post, the Holy Spirit flashed this story. Has God ever tried to reach out to you?

Read Acts. Keep coming back here. I like you.

Dear Tito, it sounds like your religion is something other than Christianity, because in Christianity (followers of Jesus Christ) Jesus clearly says you must obey Him. This makes a lot of people uncomfortable, because they would rather enjoy a life of sin. Most people will choose to continue the life they love and will call it 'love', but aren't willing to change their lifestyle to obey Jesus and avoid sin. They then rationalize with deceptive words not from the Bible, but from the mouth of satan that say you're saved regardless of your actions, that you can do whatever you want with no consequence because you're "saved." That must be an awesome religion, the best of both worlds, where you don't even have to try, where you can enjoy sin and evil as much as you want and God "approves" it, right?

You said even Hitler will be in heaven- so even the world's most evil, vile, mass murderer even gets in, according to you. But I wonder if that's just your idea or if that's 100% untrue. What if that's a lie from satan? It sure sounds the opposite of what God said.

Jesus warned his Christian followers repeatedly to avoid sin. He gave them lots of parables about separating good from bad, and how most people will go to hell, and only few people will make it to heaven. So, in your religion, if even Hitler goes to heaven, then who doesn't make it in?

In your world, if you're a Christian do you believe tonight, you can freely commit any sin you'd like with no ramifications? Adultery, immorality, sodomy, murder, lying, cheating, stealing- it's all ok? Is that really what the Bible says? My Bible doesn't say that. If you do that you're basically slapping Jesus in the face, spitting on Him, and turning your back on His grace. Shame on anyone who does this. God will fairly judge all and no one is saved until they are judged.

    John 14:15

    Hebrews 10:26

    James 2:19

    2 Corinthians 5:10

The verses that say you have an inheritance, assurance assume you're genuinely following Jesus, not following Satan!!!
  • Tito Archibald - In Reply on Deuteronomy 13:6 - 3 years ago
    Brother Dan,

You have fear based religion, not love. You have an "us and them" mentality when there's only "us".

The Bible uses that fear to keep you in line, make you behave a preferred way, or face eternal damnation.

If you believe God would destroy the least of his children due to inherent sin, because the Bible sometimes indicates that, you'd have to start by asking yourself "who made who" and for what purpose?

Do you think people who take the great tribulation mark of the beast, to provide for their families, deserve the lake of fire? Not everyone can measure up to the one hundred forty four thousand firstfruits, and by definition, those are the ones who get in first. Jesus died on the cross for all sin, and come judgment, no one will defy God's ransom to go their own way in hell.

When the 3 evil spirits are removed, that void is filled with love. God will change every soul by default, with perfect manners. Therefore, everyone who has ever lived will be given everlasting life, without the fear of satan. Even bogeyman Hitler, who did the Lord's will, gets in.

    Brother David,

Amen. Thanks for reminding us to adhere and believe entirely in bible scripture..and not to any mans interpretation!

    Matthew 24:4

"And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you."
  • Brother Dan - In Reply on Deuteronomy 13:6 - 3 years ago
    Brother Tito,

You state: the God you envision..and go on to say that God will forgive everyone even the bad ones, and that the gate to heaven is a Big as the complete works of the human race.

There is no scripture in the bible that backs what you say. You can envision anything - it doesn't mean it's true.

Please read the following bible verses spoken by Jesus. These verses are TRUE, as Jesus speaks the words of God!

    Matthew 4:17

"From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand."

    Luke 5:32

"I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance."

    Luke 13:3

"I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish."

As Christians we can believe in Jesus and God, but if we don't REPENT FROM SIN.we will PERISH!

    Believe these words from God.

    Matthew 13:41

"The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity;"

    Matthew 13:42

"And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth."

It's not what WE ENVISION it is what Jesus says.he speaks the WORDS of GOD!

    God Bless
  • Tito Archibald - In Reply on Deuteronomy 13:6 - 3 years ago
    Brother Dan,

The God I envision has mercy on everyone, even the bad ones; our ransom has been paid forward. We know our sins well. We judge ourselves all our lives, agonize over it. Our brains are wired to God; the first judgment occurs in the twinkling of an eye.

The gate is as big as the complete works of the human race.
  • Brother Dan - In Reply on Deuteronomy 13:6 - 3 years ago
    Brother John,

You state that the only sin is unbelief! Jesus never said that. There are many sins, and christians along with believing in Jesus Christ - WE must also strive to be free from sin!

It sounds to me that you are saying as long as we believe in Jesus Christ we can continue to sin with no repercussions....

Why would Jesus say in the following verses "sin no more"?

    John 8:11

"She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more."

    John 5:14

"Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee."

This is "very powerful" scripture telling us that we must strive to be SIN FREE. Yes, we are imperfect, and we will sin and fall short, but when we do we must still pray for forgiveness and strive to change and walk in Christ.

It's not easy to get into heaven and this verse confirms:

    Matthew 7:14

"Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it."

As Christians we CANNOT ignore the above scripture, or we will only be fooling ourselves......

    God bless

Yes this site gives a great opportunity to share the gospel, And there are some good churches out there. However there's no pleasure in saying there is a wide gate and there will be many in those churches and on this site that will be on that path, We should continue preaching the cross and stand firm on what we believe.

Amen, that is our Lord's constant instruction, to not fight, wrest Scripture, to satisfy our own denominational requirements, but to be like minded in all things.

Which is why it is good to have found this site, where Christians can be free to search the Scriptures, as our Lord commands us, to praise our LORD.
  • John R Nolan - In Reply on Deuteronomy 13:6 - 3 years ago
But let us not compromise HIS WORD, recognizing that 'strait is the gate and narrow the way that leads unto salvation"!

If we have only ONE GOD, ONE SAVIOUR, ONE WORD, how is it that we have so many thousands of denominations, so many different Bibles, when we are instructed, Rev.22:18-19, not to add to, take from or personally interpret HIS WORD? 2 Pet.1:20

Is not that exactly what the Pharisees and Sadducees did, use quotes from the Torah, to justify nailing their, our Messiah to the tree?

As our Lord described them, those religious leaders, as being children of their father, the devil, what has changed? Jn.8:44

It is time for Christians to not get into 'church', cults, etc., but to get into HIM, and HE is the WORD, though, yes, we are instructed to fellowship with like minded people, to encourage, edify. build each other up on the FAITH once delivered to the saints, aren't we?

The Gentiles have repeated this same mistake the 'religious leaders of out Lord's day, thus fulfilling Heb.6:6, haven't we?

Have a great, GOD blest day!
  • John R Nolan - In Reply on Deuteronomy 13:6 - 3 years ago
    Thank you for that.

It is pleasing to hear there are believers who actually believe GOD'S WORD, rather than satan's lies, are secure, settled, confident, no longer bound by this flesh, as we are not dealing with the flesh, anymore, but are, according to GOD'S Word, in, Spiritually, the eighth day, eternity, though, for a short time, we are still trapped in this body of cursed clay, in Laodice. Gen.3:17

For those predestinated to eternal LIFE, we understand that we were IN HIM, before the foundation of the world, that we are HIS Word, HIS thoughts, Rev.5:10, manifest in flesh, to be tested, tried, to determine whether we believe GOD, stand in HIS Word, or are still dillydallying, in sad Laodicean confusion, which HE, in Rev.18:4, instructs HIS children to separate ourselves from, doesn't HE?

We consider how our Lord, Jesus, instructs us to express, be the Word, for this day, whilst, in Mat.7:22-23, HE points out that casting out devils, healing the sick, raising the dead, etc., in His name, proves nothing, for, in the next verse, He refers to those as workers of iniquity.

No, one is not denigrating the Gifts, but we far morein need the GIVER.

We are saved by FAITH, not works, lest any man boast.

Our identification with HIM, is by our believing, expressing, manifesting every WORD of GOD, for this day, no longer Pentecostal, Anglican, Roman Catholic, whatever, but Christians who are clearly instructed to be LIKE MINDED, in all things, to have the same revelation, of Jesus Christ, here, today, in His people, not trapped in 'religious' creeds and dogma, aren't we?

It is time for Christians to finally identify who THEY are, children of GOD, start manifesting HIS WILL, HIS WORD, instead of 'religious' fake dogma, isn't it?

Jesus, the Man, was the express image of GOD, and, today, we are to be manifesting HIS WORD, not by signs and wonders, but by purely expressing HIM, note. Mat.8:11-12, through our life, our words, aren't we?

    Thanks John!

    For your comments,

    As Jude said

Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints. Jude 1:3.

Let us all work together in do so.

    God bless you.
  • John R Nolan - In Reply on Deuteronomy 13:6 - 3 years ago
Yes, the 'sin' question is satan's surest means to keep Christians suppressed, subjugated, under his demonic controls, and all denominations have used the 'sin' question to prevent Believers from recognizing that our Lord, Jesus, the Christ, the Son of GOD, has paid the price of ALL sins, according to HIS WORD, though, in this cursed flesh, we all backslide, make mistakes, a thousand times a day, which 'religions' use as a means to 'fleece' the sheep for their own power and monetary gains.

"In my flesh there dwelleth no good thing!" GOD tells us, but, our Lord, Jesus Christ, GOD in perfect flesh, paid for all sins, note, ALL sins, which means those who are wiling to believe HIS WORD, instead of cowering under Lucifer's pretend attacks, whimpering like flogged curs, at his feet, are totally FREE, 'delivered from the power of sin and death.' So why are the majority of Christians not claiming our victory, IN HIM, rather than allowing Lucifer to, as he did Eve, confess his lie?

Yes, one has learnt how Lucifer manipulates GOD'S WORD, to, again, deceive the last Eve.

Christians need recognize how Lucifer, as he did in Gen.3:1, deceived Eve, the weaker vessel, and has basically done the same three card trick ever since, selling 'religion' instead of GOD'S WORD, which he still quotes to deceive an high percentage of Christians, into making Eve's mistake, accepting satan's lie instead of GOD'S TRUTH!

Can any Christian, demonstrate, solely through GOD'S WORD, where Christians are not delivered from this cursed flesh? Can we stop looking at ourselves, our cursed flesh, and rejoice in what our Lord has already done for us, technically, before the foundation of the world?

Why are we not rejoicing, as we are Scripturally instructed, instead of nit picking, trying to out 'spiritualize' each other, when, it was the simple people who accepted the Lord, when He was here last time, not the 'religious' people who nailed Him to the cross.

Are we not fulfilling Heb.6:6, thus?

Brother John R Nolan, May CHRIST IN US grace us with HIS wisdom and HIS understanding.

You are CORRECT the only sin that keeps us from BEING ONE with Christ is UNBELIEF.

Colossians 1:26 Even THE MYSTERY which hath been HID from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to the saints:

    Colossians 1:27 ..... THIS MYSTERY.....CHRIST IN US......

John 9:3 Jesus answered, Neither hath this man SINNED, nor his parents: but that THE WORKS OF GOD should be manifest in him.

John 9:39 And Jesus said, For JUDGEMENT I am come into this world, that they which SEE NOT may SEE; and they which SEE might be MADE BLIND.

John 9:41 Jesus said unto them, If you were BLIND, you would HAVE NO SIN (unbelief): but now you say, WE SEE, therefore your SIN (unbelief) remaineth.
  • John R Nolan - In Reply on Deuteronomy 13:6 - 3 years ago
"In the days of the sounding of the Voice of the seventh angel the mystery of GOD should be finished," do we, in looking at the condition of this world, Israel getting prepared for their salvation, through their two prophets, Moses and Elijah, who preach Christ and Him crucified, have we failed to recognize that Jesus, the Christ, our Lord and Saviour, paid for sins, and, Christians who are IN Him, do not sin?

Satan is always is striving to keep believers looking at our flesh, (which propheteth nothing,) rather than keeping our eye solely, and souly on GOD'S Word.

As he deceived Eve, in the Garden, he has used the same technique, of keeping Christians looking at their flesh, rather than GOD'S Word, which tells us we are free from the power of sin and death, are already seated in Heavenly place, prevents us from recognizing, accepting GOD'S salvation, preferring, it appears, to grovel around, confessing only our 'failures', rather than our deliverance. Could any readers here explain this anomaly for us, please?

My Bible tells me my Lord, Jesus Christ has already paid for all our mistakes, and, realistically, the only sin is dis-belief, refusal to hear, accept, confess what our LORD, through His Son, has done for us.

Satan always attacks us through our mind, telling us we are not worthy, not good enough, which is absolutely true, but as long as we are looking at his lie, we are rejecting GOD'S promise, HIS salvation, and are, realistically, denying what GOD has already declared, that we, as HIS children, cannot deny HIS WORD, and are letting satan, again, pull the wool over the last Eve, the Churches eyes?

The only sin is unbelief, rejecting GOD'S Word whilst preferring satan's lie!

The Lord God continues to encourages us to stand fast in His precepts and filter all things through scripture. Any and all teachings or directions must comply with the Lords written and revealed word. (2 Corinthian 10:3-6) If it does not then disregard it and have nothing to do with it. ( Deuteronomy 13:18)

"When thou shalt hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God, to keep all his commandments which I command thee this day, to do that which is right in the eyes of the LORD thy God." Matthew Henry commentary 1710

I need to know the truths and precepts of the Scriptures in such a manner that I cannot be persuaded to leave the Lord God and serve any false gods. The false teachings may even come from within the church, from a brother or friends.

"If sinners entice thee, consent thou not..." ( Prov. 1:10.)

The Lord is nigh, worship only Him.
