One will arise and his name is Satan and he will do signs and wonders. Flee from him.

We must thank God for his mercies and grace .. For if life now had been like then we would all be stoned ..
But we are now under the grace ., and can ask forgiveness ... But we should not practice sin .. But look to God to break strong holds ... Please pray my strenght in the lord as i strive to be God like

Verse 2~One may arise that can perform signs and wonders, but if that person is urging someone to go against Jehovah God, that one must be rejected and avoided.

April: You're right. Today Our Tongue can be deadly or give Life. One giving instructions used The Sword of The Spirit and The Sword of His Mouth wrong! "Murder" We are to pray for the lost, even our bosses./ Killing of Babies,Men,Women,Animals, wiping out everything. Taking nothing. It's a Picture of Our Salvation. Kill The Littlest Sin or it will Grow into a Storm of Sin. Wipe Your House Clean.

Gil: I get that the scripture said to kill, but we are in the now times and all though we can take things from the OT,we still are under the idea of those who kill by the sword die by the sword,Even though hands are not a sword, well neither are guns, but it says also do unto others as you would want done onto yourself, before jesus this is what was to be done to obey GOD and be in HIS grace N honor..

People need to read Eph. 5:4.

Stoning was the O.T. dispensation; and it was God's way - "My ways are higher than your ways ....." God is - GOD, and there is not a whole lot we can do about that. Now, since Jesus ascension into Heaven, is the age of Grace, not the O.T. law. There was no grace in the O.T.; there was forgiveness if you turned to Him. Grace is an ongoing thing- for this age.

Would you really stone your own child to death for suggesting their might be truth in another god? I cannot take this as advise or wisdom. Please, can someone explain.

Do not be deceived by the harsh nature of the 13th chapter, and do not accuse God of being like other gods which are no gods. If you get anything from the inspired words of this chapter, realize the awfulness and wickedness of idolatry and God's hatred for it. Through the harsh penalties, God is graciously showing to any and all who will heed where idolatry ultimately leads, eternal death.

Lovetta But verse 9 says clearly what to do. Why are you just praying for him?
  • Lovetta St.John on Deuteronomy 13 - 9 years ago
I am a former and present believer of Christ, Jesus our Lord and Savior. It is very hard being around doubters and very negative people but by knowing the word, you know the truth no matter what the nay sayers says. Unfortunately, I have the displeasure of working for a boss who tries to deter people from God's word but, I pray for him anyway because he is lost.
  • Perry on Deuteronomy 13 - 10 years ago
To simplify this chapter..God and his word should influence us foremost.God is utterly stern concerning people negatively influencing others away from God 's ordinances. Influencing someone to trespass against God 's word is worst than the person trespassing on one 's own initiative. evil company corrupts good morals!

Jesus allowed Himself to be cruxified and remained passive , so He die for mankind's sin. However He will not be passive the next time He sets foot on earth. He will come as a warrior and king. Many will die an earthly death as well as many will be judged and sent to hell. He does not want believers to be passive or weak physically in our faith.

    @Artiewhitefox,
If you are sexually involved with animals, please, REPENT! If you die now you won’t be in heaven! REPENT and turn your life over to Jesus, please...
  • Clint on Deuteronomy 13 - 11 years ago
Bill, I feel sorry for you! Maybe one day you’ll need some help and I pray God will send someone to give you the help you will need! Best prayers to you!

Jesus did away with throwing stones, but humans still want to throw stones at the zoosexual. That has got to change. As you can see a warmonger can quote a verse to justify throwing stones. Even Jesus who is perfect did not throw a stone even at the humans persecuting him which he could have easily done, but did not do.
