No , we are free to eat anything we want to . When you get to reading the book of Acts and chapter ten , this will become clear to you .
  • William on Deuteronomy 14 - 1 year ago
Are the food choices mentioned above for us Today ?
  • David on Deuteronomy 14 - 2 years ago
Neither will I read or even look up that book, as I have His word. The Bible.
  • David on Deuteronomy 14:26 - 3 years ago
In Reply To Joseph on Deuteronomy 14-

I agree with Frank, no need to read that book. Just because it is, as you say older, doesn't make it correct, true, or better. God's Word is true. May the Lord bless you with His wisdom.
  • David on Deuteronomy 14 - 3 years ago
It is difficult to know the full intent of God without reading, studying, and meditating on His full counsel or the complete Bible. With the correct Biblical mindset, attitude, and love towards my Lord God Jesus Christ, anything I do will be accepted and blessed by Him. He knows my frailties and my shortcomings. I should not limit my decisions to one verse, one chapter, or one book to charter my walk with Him. Or even several verses, or chapters, or books; it must be the whole Word of God. Know the truth and it will set you free. Know Jesus, know life abundant and free from bondage. No Jesus, no life abundance and stuck in bondage.

With the current covid crisis hitting us in almost every area of our lives, it behooves us to turn to a source that will answer our questions, settle our differences, calm our fears, give hope to our future, and comfort our hearts. Only the Lord Jesus Christ can do this. May the Lord bless our leaders both in the civil and ecclesiastical realm of our lives. May we lean completely on the Lord Jesus Christ name. May the hand of the Lord be evident on you and all in your area of influence.
  • Frank - In Reply on Deuteronomy 14 - 5 years ago
No, I will not read that book.
  • Joseph on Deuteronomy 14 - 5 years ago
Please read the book of the dead which predates the bible. This was taken from the 7 Loaves of bread teaching from Horus.Remember there was a HUGE influence by the Egyptians and Sumerians which predate the Egyptians "That which is an abomination unto me is filth let me not eat it in the place of the sepulchral cakes which are offered unto Kas".Torah was rewritten 5x which bible was patterned.

Stanjett-- Gen 2:31-states everything God CREATED was good for it's PURPOSE. Lev 20:25-Put a difference between clean and unclean beasts and fowels. It is NOT a sin to God though He frowns on eating scavengers unclean . They feed on the filth of the creation they were made for. They are UNHEALTHY to your flesh. Only the clean were to be received with thanksgiving. Hope this helps.
  • Stanjett on Deuteronomy 14 - 5 years ago
tithes is ???able. Some places in the bible it says a 5th, some it says 10th and others a 10th of the spoils. A 10th is a lot for poor people and not a lot for the rich.
  • Stanjett on Deuteronomy 14 - 5 years ago
Now its telling me that I can't eat rabbit or bacon, when it just told me in the last chapter that I can. ????????
  • Janet on Deuteronomy 14 - 5 years ago
    V. 22 Father, make us more grateful and willing to tithe of our increase so that we may learn the fear of the Lord.
  • BSP on Deuteronomy 14 - 5 years ago
Verse 1: while it is not wrong to mourn the dead there are certain rites that we would not take part in that are supposed to honor the dead.
  • CB on Deuteronomy 14 - 6 years ago
The tithe could be food or oil or animal and was to be burnt to the Lord. The year of tithes for the priest was also for the widow, fatherless and the needy. Tithe was not a salary for the priests.
  • James on Deuteronomy 14 - 6 years ago
Mal 3:7-12 should explain tithing questions you may have
  • Ren on Deuteronomy 14 - 6 years ago
@Bruce I agree on you can tithe more but not the less part. Numbers 18:26 says a tenth part which is 10%.
  • BSP on Deuteronomy 14 - 7 years ago
Verse 1: Jehovah God expected the Israelites to have respect for themselves and the bodies that he gave them.
  • A disciple on Deuteronomy 14 - 7 years ago
"...the Levite, (because he hath no part nor inheritance with thee,) and the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow, which are within thy gates, shall come, and shall eat and be satisfied..." Here is a concept! What if the Disciples in the beginning were actually RIGHT ON with making sure everyone was equally provided for? Instead of the "superior" Church leadership and their entourage only?
  • Bruce on Deuteronomy 14 - 7 years ago
Kalu: We are free from the Old Testament law by The Blood of The Lamb. We just bring our Tithes into His House to support The Ministry. Most Tithe 10% If one Tithe more or less that's OK, just according to his heart. Just don't grumble about what you give. 2Corinthians 9:7
  • A disciple on Deuteronomy 14 - 7 years ago
CHIBUTUTU KALU; Remember how the Lord Jesus watched the people giving in the Temple? He saw many rich giving much; but the poor widow who gave about 1/4 cent, gave more than all, because it was all her livelihood. To whom we give is also important: and I personally think that kindness and support of those who can't help themselves is much better than giving to a "well off" Pastor and his family.
  • Irene123 on Deuteronomy 14 - 7 years ago
To C. Kalu - you need to read Malachi 3:10-12. If we will be faithful in our tithing AND freewill offering, God WILL bless us; I give 10 per cent every week and He's never failed to bless me. It's not always in money, it's also answered prayer for healing or for salvation of others, or a car or repairs to something or whatever HE sees the need for.
  • Irene123 on Deuteronomy 14 - 7 years ago
To C. Kalu - To tithe all the increase of the 'field' is simply saying we tithe (10 per cent) of the gross amt. we earn, not the 'net' - the net is AFTER the taxes are taken out; we pay tithe on the gross BEFORE taxes are taken out.
  • CHIBUTUTU KALU on Deuteronomy 14 - 7 years ago
please, does it mean that the way we tithe is not the right way?
  • PJ on Deuteronomy 14 - 8 years ago
The gist of this chapter summed up in the last 6 verses. We can enjoy our tithe most anyway we want, and every 3rd year we are to give that tithe to the teachers to distribute to the poor and needy within our community.

    GRACE BAND re:JOB
God trusted Job and knew he would remain faithful no matter the amount of suffering....Sometimes godly people are allowed to suffer that they may see themselves.. He wants the trial of our faith to work patience, reveal character...Job gave a wonderful testimony to the world...

  • Abongile on Deuteronomy 14 - 9 years ago
It is important to be a tithe to support God house
  • Rev. Ronald Bostrom on Deuteronomy 14:1 - 9 years ago
This is the Law correct ?... Deut.14:1 See John 10:34 Jesus said Law not Psalms 82:6 gods ... should read " God 's Sons " Most Tranlators are wrong Read all 3 verses in contect using God 's Sons ... Now it makes sense. This is why Jesus said what He said about Himself as a Son of God P.S. Children are Sons and Daughters ... Right? The Holy Spirit revealed this grouping of verses to me. Since Adam Eve
  • Alicia on Deuteronomy 14 - 10 years ago
Aneesa for allah you need to read Acts chapters 10 11, as well as the whole NEW Testament. God gave the old Testament primarily for the Jewish people that He chose simply because He loved them. The new Testament, in Jesus ' blood, is given to all mankind! Shows just how powerful the living sacrifice, Jesus Christ is, and how much God cared for His sinful, helpless, and hopeless creation! What a Great LORD that my God is!
  • Evalena Latham on Deuteronomy 14 - 10 years ago
In Christ we live and breathe and have our being. He indwells us and keeps us from yeilding to temptations. As we meditate on his word day and night, we grow in Grace and find ourselves constanting resisting temptations for we are led by his Spirit. We can live wonderful lives resisting sins of the flesh as we abide in Him for without Him we can do nothing to please Him. There is no greater life than JESUS CHRIST.
  • Juanita on Deuteronomy 14:6 - 10 years ago
