Deuteronomy 14 11 12 Of all clean birds ye shall eat. But these are they of which ye shall not eat the eagle, and the ossifrage deer eagle , and the ospray sea eagle , Deuteronomy 14 13 20 And the glede vulture family , and the kite falcon , and the vulture after his kind, And every raven gold black raven after his kind, And the owl, and the night hawk, and the cuckow seagull , and the hawk after his kind, The little owl, and the great owl, and the swan, And the pelican, and the gier eagle, and the cormorant pelican family , And the stork, and the heron parrot after her kind, and the lapwing grouse , and the bat. And every creeping thing termites , that flieth that swarms is great numbers is unclean unto you they shall not be eaten. But of all clean fowls duck, goose, chicken, partridge, pheasant, prairie chicken, quail, turkey ye may eat. The rule of thumb is not to eat of any scavengers, whether it is a fish, bird or animal. Scavengers are filters, placed here by Almighty God to filter out uncleanness from the earth and to cut down on diseases and to protect His children that He considers precious. To break these health and food laws are sins against your health and not against eternal soul.

yes this passages applies to us. as we need to consider the 7th year of release and consider giving pardon , making ppl free, helping them. I also think about the slavery issue in our country years back, and how sinful it was for the Christians not to show such kindness on the ppl and where the slaves should have been released and helped in gaining independence.

Sorry Angel but strong drink does NOT equate to sweet drink but alcohol Fact is people often use the term strong drink to discourage alcohol use The term strong drink is used in Leviticus 10 9 and Proverbs 20 in relation to alcohol Some drafts of that verse use the term fermentation which is the technical definition for the process by which liquids become alcoholic Alcohol like food can be used in moderation The bible warns us against gluttony but no one is going to say that you can t eat The scriptures warn us against sexual immorality but 1 Corinthians 7 verse 2 tells people to have spouses IOT avoid sexual immorality ie to have sex with your spouse instead of doing so outside of marriage Look there s no way you can avoid temptation we re all sinners the question is how are you going to respond By attempting to be the super abstinent Christian you re going to find yourself NOT enjoying your walk with the Lord nor celebrating life which is what Deuteronomy 14 verse 26 is telling you to do By not enjoying your walk with the Lord you re setting yourself up to fail big time That is the condition under which you re most vulnerable and where sin and temptation win out

  • Angel Gonzalez on Deuteronomy 14:26 - 10 years ago
I was confused by the words "Strong drink", but by further reading I conclude that it was not liquor, but a sweet drink. Angel

These laws was given to Israel, but i believe God wanted this for all people.God have one law for the stranger and the home borne. To say that Christ put a end to these healthy directive is to say He doesn't wish christian to be prosperous and be in good health.

This text is not speaking to the drunkard, but what ever you do to the glory of God. The Apostle Paul told us not to be drunk with wine, where in is excess, but to be filled with the Spirit. Psalm 23 warned not to look on the wine when it is red. Psalm 20:1 Wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging, and who ever drinks is deceived thereby. The totality of scripture tells us that moderation must be used, so that you will not get drunk. I Cor.6 the drunkard will not inherit the kingdom of God. As long as moderation is used, and for medicinal reasons it is good

Moses shows the two different group of animals, clean and unclean which we can eat and we cannot eat. This means that as christian we need tobe like ruminants which they chew twice and their hoof are devided separately into two parts,so though we are chewing twice for knowledge only but we are not separated from our sins we are remain uncleaned to God.

    Deuteronomy (14:8)
"And the swine, because it divideth the hoof, yet cheweth not the cud, it is unclean unto you: ye shall not eat of their flesh, nor touch their dead carcase."
if this is this the law (Toura) why majority of the Christians Having flesh of swine?
  • Archie Meade on Deuteronomy 14:8 - 11 years ago
The Bible is God's Blue Print to living a healthy life. I think this verse shows that God wants all mankind to stay away from the swine for health and life.

The More I Read That The Old Testament It's Only Witnessing A Testimony An Covenant With God's Peoples Back Then The Dispensation Of Israel The Mosaic Law Was Not Given To Gentiles This Is Not Unto God's Peoples Today The Dispensation Of The Church; When Jesus Went To The Cross The Purpose Of The Mosaic Law Ended With Christ.
