Discuss 1 Corinthians 4

    1 Corinthians 4:5

Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts: and then shall every man have praise of God.

THE BEST PROTECTION AGAINST THE DARKNESS OF ERROR IS THE LIGHT OF TRUTH."

should the words "do not pronounce judgment before the time" keep us from identifying false teachers or from naming them?

I don't think so. "Don't pronounce judgment before the time" means "Don't do what only Christ can do at that last day - on the day of judgment." Don't presume to know the heart like Jesus will know the heart on that day. Only Christ "will bring to light the things now hidden in darkness and will disclose the purposes of the heart."

But for now, our job is indeed to do mouth judgment, writing judgment, behavior judgment - not a heart judgment, but mouth and writing and behavior judgment. When a mouth speaks unbiblical, destructive teaching, when a blog or an article or a book publishes unbiblical and destructive teaching, when a body - a human body, a physical body - behaves with unbiblical and destructive behavior, in all these cases, we are to be discerning.

And according to Ephesians 5:11 we are to expose the error. "Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them." "Censure them; show them to be wrong" is what the word elegch means.

    God bless

    The Holy Spirit (introduction)

When the Spirit dwells in an individual in our current Dispensation a foreign righteousness enters our world. He uses the most subtle means and is often quite gentle; but make no mistake. He's not there to do anything less than cause the death of our old nature and all the desires of the flesh. How willingly we submit will determine our spiritual rewards or lack thereof; and could even shorten our life if we aren't careful ( 1 Cor. 11:30). I HIGHLY recommend new believers to examine Paul's writings to the Corinthians after gaining a basic understanding of the Gospels. There is much to learn there about maturity; church discipline and many common problems still relevant today involving cultural surroundings and the affect on those who are new creatures in Christ. 1 Corinthians 4:21 gives the question if Paul would be preferred to come with a "rod of discipline" and this can be applied to the Lord Himself chastising us as we grow in faith. He is the "Captain" of the ship and therefore of our souls ( Heb. 2:10).

The mystery of God involves how God can dwell with man; the infinite with finite flesh ( 1 Cor. 3:16-17). As long as we are on earth; this paradox of foreign righteousness contends with the flesh and we are torn between the two. Christ; then IS our righteousness ( 1 Cor. 1:30) but the source comes from without. We die daily ( 1 Cor. 15:31) as we are transformed by the renewing of our mind ( Romans 12:2).

The church was built with the plan for the Body to be "fitted together" ( 1 Cor. 12:18 and also Ephesians 4:16). Once we get past the melee which was the state of the Corinthians as a "motley crew" that had to be disciplined we are in theory to build one another up. That involves the strong in faith teaching the weak ( Titus 2:4-6) (and apparently 84 other verses in scripture specifically relating to women in that role!) as well as exhortation; rebuke; and reproving ( 2 Tim. 4:2); as well as sympathy ( Rom. 12:15)

Hello everyone, we need to get together and hear from each other. Now I hope that everyone has charged the batteries, those who live in the colder areas. Because summer is over. All the migratory birds we have here in the Nordics left the site yesterday Saturday. We praise the Lord and thank Him for everything we have, every day is like a symphony to Him. Think, all the voices, shouts and cries we share with Him. And not enough of that! When we sleep He hears same symphony, praise, cry and lament only in that hemisphere which then has day.

And of course there are some who are always awake and alert for what is to come. They pray for everyone, they hunger for people to come to faith, they rejoice with those who are happy. They weep with those who are sorrowful. They pray for those who are sick. Paul writes it so nicely in 1 Corinthians 4:8-13 Now ye are full!

Praise be to the Lord He who can calm the sea, so can He also create the storm! We know the autumn storms, how the houses shake and crash. Where things fly through the air. Or a piece of paper flies towards the window where the rain is lashing the pane. If we see these storms and wait them out. This is also how the daily lives of Christians are. Therefore, I pray for this autumn that we must strengthen each other with song and play, and lots of laughter. So that we endure the coming storm with power and strength. Always remember that Jesus loves you and so does God the Father, so as Jesus loves us, so do we. I love all my brothers and sisters in Christ. Because that is my proper duty. Christ Jesus is the resurrected Jesus, whom we too shall rise like Him, Amen. Hallelujah Praise be to the Lord for all eternity! Stay safe and strong in the word of God (King James Version). It is the oldest and best readable, understandable scripture that exists. And it's here! Thank you web Masters for this wonderful website that stretches from East to West. From North to South. Yes! All over the globe, Amen.

    Hello Henry.

It is more inspiring to know your favorite epistles because you must be working in your own holiness as well. Your Godly testimony and the testimony of all saints that are here on earth are what the world needs today. We are in the perilous times. We need to be in one accord in one body of Christ. Every member is important. A Family is the smallest unit of a society. The family that prays together stays together. This site is a family that reads the Word of God. There maybe differences of opinions because of the traditions of men or for whatever reason it may be. We continue to pray because the Lord God in Heaven is already alive in us. We are dead in our body as Christ died. We are baptized by His death and yet we are alive in Spirit. Every word we speak must edify a person. Your response lift up my soul in heaven and willing and still able to do more for God; and my prayers will always be to keep you and yours and all saints from any harm this world brings. Thank you for your fellowship. Ephesians 1:4

To the saints on this site:

1 Corinthians 4:5 speaks volume to us since saints understand the mysteries revealed to the faithful and Romans 1:6 & Romans 8:28. For saints know Isaiah 5:20. We are where we are today. God is so great to allow us to do things in life in our own free will where in the end The Glory belongs to God. God allowed me to have worked with great scientists in America with great heart. I do not need to understand and question everything at the spare of the moment. I just know the paths God lead me in was not to question authorities in the land. God has the heavenly plans and those are what I am and every saint must be very excited about. When you walk in the Spirit of God, you are like in a trance. Next thing you know someone tells you on earth job well done. Not to boast but again and again to Glorify God because He helped you to do job well done. I can control only me and hopefully have a strong influence with my family and friends and anybody that touches my life to follow God as I walk the walk and talk the talk. Even 1 Timothy 5:4 saints take it to heart. All is good with God James 1:17 and all are Your's 1 Corinthians 3:21-23. I know It is easy said and done here on earth. We all have afflictions and to some unbearable 2 Corinthians 6:4. I thank God for the blood of Jesus Christ for that power is in everyone who put his trust, faith and believe in that He will never leaves you. Psalms 91 memorize!

The Spirit speaks to you 1 Peter 3:13, 3 John 1:11. Be in Spirit so you can 1 Thessalonians 5:21 and 1 Thessalonians 5:15. Philippians 2:13 and Ephesians 1:9. Saints, Ephesians 4:29

There are more heavenly things I can share but I like to inspire you with this testimony Colossians 1:27. Let us all grow in true Charity 1 Corinthians 13:4-8, the bond of perfectness Colossians 3:14. In conclusion 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18. Happy Sunday with the Lord Jesus Christ. Grace and peace to ALL.

    Brother Jesse:

    I agree with your comments.

We have to surrender (die) our life to Christ.

Do we have life, in and of ourselves, NO? Most don't understand this.

1 Corinthians 4:11 For we which LIVE are always delivered unto death for Jesus sake, that the LIFE OF JESUS might be made manifest in our mortal bodies (as well as in our IMMORTAL bodies in the AGE TO COME).

To repent means to change our way of UNDERSTANDING.

To repent would be to agree with God's word.

John 14:6 I AM the way, the Truth, and the LIFE.

Colossians 1:27 ....this mystery ....Christ in you .....

Philippians 2:13 For it is GOD (in you) that worketh both TO WILL and TO DO his good pleasure.

Christ (the first man) UNDERSTOOD this ....THOU in ME....the Father did EVERYTHING through Christ.

Man has to come to TRUTH (Christ in you): Man does EVERYTHING ....I in THEM .....through Christ.

This is the great DECEPTION: No KNOWLEDGE of the WORKS of God.

Hebrews 2:8 .....For now we see NOT YET all things put under him.

Man's time table IS NOT God's timetable.

Ephesians 2:7 That in the AGES TO COME .....

Isaiah 11:9 ....for the earth shall be full of the KNOWLEDGE of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.

Isaiah 55:11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I PLEASE, and it shall prosper in the things whereto I SENT IT.

1 Corinthians 15:28 And when all things (in the ages to come) have been subdued to him, then shall the Son also be subject unto him who put all things under him, that GOD may be ALL in ALL.

God Bless ALL on our pilgrimage to TRUTH.

    Hello David:

Praise and glory to God. 1 Corinthians 4:1 Let a man do account of us, as of the ministers of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God.

2 Timothy 2:14 Of these things put them in remembrance, charging them before the Lord that they strive not about words to no profit, but to the subverting of the hearers.

15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

16 But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness.

    17 And their word will eat as doth a canker: of whom is Hymenaeus and Philetus;

18 Who concerning the truth have erred, saying that the resurrection is past already; and overthrow the faith of some.

19 Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.

Let us grow in Charity and grace in One BODY OF CHRIST. Agape.

Yes, according to the Bible. It also depends on one's definition of "saved" and when this event occurs. Are people saved while still on earth instantly after they say their first prayer, at some point later, or are they saved after they are judged by God Himself? What does the Bible say...

1 Peter 1:5 - "...salvation ready to be revealed in the last time."

Matthew 24:13 "But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved."

Hebrews 10:36 "For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise."

1 Cor 9:24-27 "run the race" (not the race was already won.)

    2 Peter 3:17

    Luke 8:5-18

    1 Timothy 4:1

    2 Peter 2:20-22

    Hebrews 3:12

    Galatians 5:4

    1 Corinthians 15:2-8

    1 Corinthians 4:5

2 Corinthians 5:10 whether "good or bad". People are sorted at this time.

Matthew 12:32 "...but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come."

OSAS believers: "Ok, but a Christian would never do that."

Christians no longer have freewill to sin?" Joshua 24:15 "choose you this day whom ye will serve"

"OSAS: But no one has ever done that."

Sadly, many Christians fall away. Look at "ex-Christian" on Reddit with 107,000 members. Very prominent pastors have denounced faith and later denied Jesus is Lord.

    Matthew 7:21-23

"Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven."

Hebrews 10:26 "For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,"

    Hebrews 6:4-6

James 2:14-26 "...faith, if it hath not works, is dead..."

James 2:19 "Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble."

1 Peter 1:13 "...hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;"

    Romans 11

John 14:15 "If ye love me, keep my commandments."

    Matthew 12:31-32

    Romans 14:12

God bless and pray for wisdom and truth.

    Elmer,

Paul wrote two letters to Timothy who was pastoring the church in Ephesus. Timothy's name is mentioned 24 times in the New Testament. Timothy was from Lystra and he was saved during Paul's first missionary journey ( Acts 14:19-20; Acts 16:1-2)

His mother Eunice, and his grandmother Lois, were godly Jewish women. In fact, Timothy was taught the Old Testament scriptures since he was a little boy. So he has a scriptural background. Timothy was about 15-years-old when he first met Paul. And when Paul writes his letter to Timothy, he's approximately 35. So he has spent approximately 20 years with Paul in ministry learning.

Even though Timothy's mother and grandmother were godly Jewish women, his father was a pagan Greek. ( Acts 16:1; 2 Timothy 1:5). Timothy was raised hearing Old Testament Scriptures. ( 2 Timothy 3:14-15). He joined Paul, along with Silas and Luke, during second missionary trip. ( Acts 16:3).

Paul had Timothy circumcised so that he might have the freedom to preach the gospel in Jewish synagogues. ( Acts 16:3; 1 Corinthians 9:20). He could not do that unless he was circumcised. Timothy was ordained by Paul and the Presbytery. ( 1 Timothy 4:14; 2 Timothy 1:6). He accompanies Paul on his third missionary trip. ( Acts 19:22; Acts 20:4; 2 Corinthians 1:1, 1:19).

Timothy ministered in at least five churches as Paul's representative:

    1) Thessalonica ( 1 Thessalonians 3:2, 3:6)

    2) Corinth ( 1 Corinthians 4:17; 16:10; 2 Corinthians 1:19)

    3) Philippi ( Philippians 2:19-23)

    4) Berea ( Acts 17:14)

    5) Ephesus ( 1 Timothy 1:3)

Timothy was with Paul during Paul's first imprisonment ( Philippians 1:1; Colossians 1:1; Philemon 1:1) and went to Philippi after Paul's release. ( Philippians 2:19-23). Timothy was around 35-years of age when Paul wrote I Timothy. Timothy also suffered imprisonment. ( Hebrews 13:23).

    Hope this helps!

    My fellow believer:

    Ephesians 2:19

    Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God;

    1 Corinthians 4:1

Let a man so account of us, as of the ministers of Christ, and stewards of the mysteries of God.

    1 Corinthians 4:4

For I know nothing by myself; yet am I not hereby justified: but he that judgeth me is the Lord.

    1 Corinthians 4:5

Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts: and then shall every man have praise of God.

    1 Corinthians 6:2

Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters?

    1 Corinthians 4:4

For I know nothing by myself; yet am I not hereby justified: but he that judgeth me is the Lord.

I prayed and God gave me these verses that I may grow in them.

    1 Corinthians 16:14

Let all your things be done with charity.

    1 Corinthians 13:4

Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,

    1 Corinthians 13:5

    Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;

    1 Corinthians 13:6

    Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;

    Colossians 3:14

And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.

    2 Corinthians 6:16

The first resurrection occurred at Christ resurrection.

John 15:16 Ye have not CHOSEN ME, But I have CHOSEN YOU .....

All is the WORK'S OF GOD, man just receives the GIFT.

Philippians 1:29 For unto you it is given, on the behalf of Christ, not ONLY TO BELIEVE on him, but also to suffer for his sake,

1 Corinthians 4:7 For who maketh thee to be different from another? and what hast thou that ye did not receive? now if thou didst receive it, why does thou glory, as if thou received it not?

You begin life with a mind of FLESH, if you have your part in the first resurrection, your mind of FLESH IS BEHEADED, and replaced with the mind of Christ.

    Hi Louis.

I just noticed I sent my earlier reply incomplete.

My answer would be no to go along with what I already said. We are hidden in Christ and presented perfect by the blood of Christ and his righteousness is imputed unto us. But our walk in these bodies will never be perfect but the work by the spirit will lead us in that direction as we grow.

Our sins are within, even in our thoughts. 1 Corinthians 4:5. Hebrews 4:12.

    God bless.

What I do know is that God didn't lie:

Numbers 23:19 "God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?"

Titus 1:2 "In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began;"

    -

The Bible says to trust Him, and not lean on our own understanding of how things should happen, or if certain promises should have applied to him, but didn't:

Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

    -

Only God knows the "hidden things of darkness" in the hearts of men (we can't know everything):

1 Corinthians 4:5 Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts: and then shall every man have praise of God.

    -

And God's thoughts and judgements are infinitely higher than ours:

Isaiah 55:6-9 - 6Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:

7Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.

8For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.

9For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.

    -

The Bible also shows us there are things that can shorten our lives - I obviously don't know if this specific verse applies, but as an example, having certain things in his heart and actions (even if it's not this particular verse) wouldn't be honoring the parents who raised him:

    Psalms 55:23

"But thou, O God, shalt bring them down into the pit of destruction: bloody and deceitful men shall not live out half their days; but I will trust in thee."

I would like to comment on versus 8-9; the garden of God was taken from the third heaven and brought down to the earth, where God planted it, as this was not created, it already existed. Adam was put into the garden of God, then the Lord created trees in front of Adam, I asked myself the question, why is God creating trees again after he rested, when he did this on the third day of creation? Then I discovered those trees on the third day of creation were taken from the earth, but these trees were taken from the ground of the garden of God, which came from the third heaven. Therefore, this was a metaphor, referring unto the trees as angels. Here we learn that the tree of life, was an angelic body created for the Holy Spirit, later in scripture known as the angel of the Lord, also known as God. The tree of knowledge of good and evil, was a metaphorical name for Lucifer, as he knew and understood both the world of light, and the world of darkness, until he became the god of that world. 11 Corinthians 4:4 The prophet Ezekiel gave us much insight on the trees in the garden of God being angels, as he spoke of it in Ezekiel 31:8-9 In summary, man is older than angels, as he was created before them, furthermore, he watched them being created in front of him, is it no wonder than why Satan tempted Eve and not Adam, as she was not created to see this event happening in the garden.

    S. Spencer We believers need to keep in mind that we live in The Age of grace but its like the Apostle Paul

says in 1 Corinthians 4:3 this is mans day Paul didn't judge Himself or count mans judgement. That's why on

the court systems judgements are being made way off Gods Word because its man's judgement or man's day.

But like you shared we focus on Christ and Gods word to keep above it all in the new man nature.

Hi Adam There's is a major principle to consider in this the Age of Grace, this is man's day where man is doing the

judging in the world. That's why Paul stated in 1 Corinthians 4:3 But with me it is a very small thing that I should be

judged of you or mans judgement yea I judge not my own self. The word says be angry and sin not or don't break fellowship because the anger of man worketh not the righteousness of God. In this day and age by Gods grace

like no other time in history God is closing His eyes so to speak to a lot of stuff. But when the day of The Lord Comes

Then Somethings going to Hit the Spiritual Fan so to Speak. Our commission is to speak the truth in Love and each

man or women makes up there mind accept or reject until the gathering together. After that look out!

    Dear Earl,

I didn't understand your response to the topic at hand. It seemed to avoid the main question about what we're saved from, but that's ok. I hope what I wrote was at least considered. I did see your repeating of your belief that the KJV is a 'Catholic' Bible and that's untrue. And your idea that hell doesn't actually mean hell, but something nicer like a cellar or grave isn't true either. The Bible is already translated accurately by a team of experts who spent years methodically and prayerfully doing it word for word. You're one person claiming the opposite with no evidence for it, so I don't find the attacks on God's word as credible. Not sure what your goals are in attacking God's word publicly on a Bible site, but nonetheless, I'm glad you're here.

You asked: "For what purpose did GOD SAVE YOU."

I don't agree with the terminology "saved" past tense, because we haven't been judged yet. The Bible mostly uses the terminology shall or will be saved. Future tense, not past tense, because we are still living and have freewill to follow Jesus or not follow Him. The choice is ours.

Paul in the Bible said to run the race to the end to receive the prize, not the race was already over. 1 Cor 9:24-27

So I don't believe I have been "saved" from anything yet, nor has anyone else on earth, because we haven't been judged as it says we will be in 2 Corinthians 5:10. It says we "all" must appear to be judged. All means all. I understand some think they can skip judgment based on good behavior, but that's not Biblical. All means everyone. Here's another: Romans 14:12 "Every one of us..." 1 Corinthians 4:5. "Every one" means everyone, including Christians and non-Christians. 1 Peter 1:5 - "...salvation ready to be revealed in the last time."

But by following Jesus, can we have assurance and confidence in salvation? Yes. Philippians 1:6

If we don't follow Jesus, can we have assurance and confidence in salvation? No. Luke 12:5. Hebrews 10:26

    God bless...

Bro Dan What Traditionally is being taught as the rapture is in 2 Thessalonians known as our gathering together unto

Him. The day of Christ is future when Christ dose the judging Revelation, today is known as mans day 1 Corinthians 4:3 it says

concerning mans Judgement this word judgement is [hemera and it is the only place translated day], this is saying this is

mans day where man does all the judging, but when the day of Christ comes He will do the Judging, but before that day

which is in revelation the body of Christ will be taken up and then what is known as The AntiChrist will come in into

full power. There are many things against Christ or the gospel now but they are not The Antichrist

The only reason that is not occuring now is because we who believe and walk in the light of the word

are still reconciling men that want to believe back to God the Ministry of Reconciliation which we all are a part of

2 Corinthians 5:17-19. We who are born again in the Age of grace are indeed saved from the Judgement to come on

the people who chose not to believe. The only thing Believers will be judged for are the works done according to the

word all the rest burn't up and we will have bodies like unto His Glorious body THe Hope. Talk about a Bright Future its a no Loss deal because we believe and act on Gods Word.
