    Knowing the Word and living it out

    2 Timothy 3:15 And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.

    When we look at Timothy we can see just from this passage his upbringing gave him head knowledge of who Christ was; and perhaps there wasn't an "aha" moment so to speak when he definitely was able to state was the day he came to saving faith.

    That is just conjecture; but what we can discern is that it was likely just the Old Testament and those familiar with Christ's teachings from actually witnessing what happened to him to that would influence him; and that it was likely Paul's letters and some traditions would have been all of the "New" Testament available to him at the time.

    Fast forwarding to today's tech savvy AI environment and we no doubt have a vast array of information available online regarding the Bible. In this segment I'm emphasizing living out faith through a human as being something a computer can't provide except by narrative accounts of saints who have largely passed this earthly realm.

    What you won't gather is something perhaps rarely considered; that of those sins which we ALL learn from and how the Body of Christ works to strengthen one another. Suppose someone is given a Word; a specific scripture which happens to pierce the heart of another parishioner. A person may have no idea why the Lord prompts them to warn (let's say a verse about those inheriting the Kingdom of God not being fornicators; idoloters; adulterors; etc ( 1 Corinthians 6:9-11). This is an example of proper use of spiritual gifts; that is using scripture (and not some extrabiblical prophecy) to give a warning to someone. The person can apply it to whatever it is they are struggling with and then it can pierce the heart as Hebrews 4:12 indicates as a "two edged sword". Often men are viewed in a very one sided manner by a computer summary of their lives.

    Hello Charlesewald. When we read of God anointing His people, it speaks of a specific and special purpose for that anointing. When we see the first references (as in the Books of Exodus and Leviticus), we read about the anointing of Aaron, the high priest, and his sons for their service to God in the Tabernacle & on behalf of the people (e.g. Exodus 29:4-9; Leviticus 7:35,26; and others). This anointing was God's declaration of the separated office of the priests forever, equipped for service, and in public recognition of their appointment. Through this appointment, God specially enabled them to perform their tasks, but with it also came a grave responsibility to perform it exactly as commanded and in fear and trembling as they stood before God. Even the high priest had bells on his Ephod (robe) to give a sound as he went in the Holiest Place, did his work and exited it. If there was no more sound, then the priests serving outside knew that the high priest had died, whether under God's Hand or other reasons ( Exodus 28:34,35).

    So that anointing, as special and yet grave in its administration to those priests, serves to demonstrate to us today, as God's children through Christ, the seriousness of our redemption and calling, to be called His very own. Having made us "kings and priests" unto Himself ( Revelation 1:6), we can only be found in such a blessed position in His family by also being anointed; not with that oil necessary for those priests, but with the Holy Spirit of God (that Heavenly Oil, if you will) that secures us as His children forever, Who teaches all things, and enables us to live this new life (in a corrupt world) unto God ( 1 John 2:20,27). As those not only anointed by the Spirit, but our bodies become the Temple of the Holy Ghost ( 1 Corinthians 6:19; 2 Corinthians 6:16), enabling us to live not in the fear and trembling of those old-time priests, but in redemption joy by the Spirit-given Power, of His Love, & self-control.     Hey Lbooth1955,

    In my last reply, which you made a reply to all, I mentioned one verse that Paul taught about the kingdom of God. We also see in Acts 19:8, Acts 20:25, Acts 28:23, Romans 14:17, 1 Corinthians 4:20, 1 Corinthians 6:9-10, Galatians 5:21, and Ephesians 5:5. I could list more.

    As I mentioned earlier, I am not familiar with dispensationalism, a concept that didn't emerge until the 19th century. I also believe that the idea of the rapture of the Church isn't supported by Scripture. If you don't mind, what is the dispensationalist understanding of the kingdom of God? Is there no need for repentance and baptism? Will the Church be in heaven during the 1000 years?

    I am only trying to understand.

    To all that be i Christ,

    "To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation." 2nd Cor. 5:19

    2 Corinthians 5:19 teaches that in Christ, God reconciled the world to Himself, not imputing (counting) people's sins against them. This reconciliation is complete, covering sins of the past, the present, and even those of the future, because Christ's sacrifice was once for all.

    Past Sins: The believer's past life of sin has been fully forgiven through Christ's blood. "And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses" ( Colossians 2:13). God does not hold a believer's former life of sin against them: "And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus" ( 1 Corinthians 6:11).

    Present Sins: As believers still live in the flesh, we sometimes stumble, yet Christ's sacrifice continually avails for us. "My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous" ( 1 John 2:1). His righteousness is always applied to us: "Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin" ( Romans 4:8).

    Future Sins: Because Christ's sacrifice was once for all, even future sins are covered. "But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God" ( Hebrews 10:12). This does not encourage sin but assures us that no sin can separate us from God's love. "For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life nor things present, nor things to come shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord" ( Romans 8:38-39).

    CHRIST HATH REDEEMED US FROM THE CURSE OF THE LAW, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: Galatians 3:13.

    Well I start job training for my P.T. Food Service job once again tomorrow. Hopefully I can serve better this year and learn from others with greater abilities than I have.

    The concept of learning things isn't just restricted to the natural world but the spiritual dimension as well. Someone like the guy in church I mentioned the other week not only has more mastery of scriptures than me but knows when it is worth it or not to pursue matters in edifying discussion. The fact that keeping quiet is helpful as we see in Proverbs 17:28 Even a fool, when he holdeth his peace, is counted wise: and he that shutteth his lips is esteemed a man of understanding. Now of course being on this site and not knowing anyone personally I am limited as to being able to pray for individual needs or perhaps discern who and when to discuss certain matters. There appear to be some communication issues with those not as comfortable with the English language that I have some difficulty navigating; but hopefully I can learn from others and vice versa. I don't want this to be a dumping ground for everything that comes to mind; but realize that I am in a constant learning process as I put out content!

    There are those in our walk with God like our physical parents; guiding us in starting to earn how to be a Disciple that we should never forget. We need; of course to guard our hearts so that no hardness develops ( Phil. 4:7; and Hebrews 3:7-9 comes from Psalms about those who in the wilderness did this and God brought premature death to them). Our lives are not our own anymore; we were bought with a price ( 1 Corinthians 6:20). To be teaching others we need to be teachable and available for the time necessary for ministry. When we do this we can also complement each other with natural abilities so we can grow in practical and Godly wisdom.

    Wisdom is utter dependence and trust on the Spirit to guide us; teach us and mold us into conformity with the will of God in our lives.

    Right Division ( 2 Timothy 2:15)

    The Church, the Body of Christ, is distinct from the Bride of Christ-a truth revealed uniquely through the Apostle Paul under the dispensation of grace. While traditional teaching often blends Israel's prophetic promises with the Church's heavenly calling, a right division ( 2 Timothy 2:15) reveals that believers today, saved by grace through faith alone ( Ephesians 2:8-9), are part of a new creation: the Body of Christ ( 1 Corinthians 12:12-13; Romans 12:5).

    Paul never refers to the Church as the "Bride of Christ." Instead, he consistently identifies the Church as a body in which Christ is the Head ( Ephesians 1:22-23; Colossians 1:18). This organism is spiritual, made up of both Jew and Gentile, reconciled into one new man ( Ephesians 2:15-16). This unity was a "mystery" kept hidden from ages past ( Colossians 1:26; Ephesians 3:1-6), never prophesied or associated with Israel's covenantal promises.

    In contrast, the bride metaphor is rooted in prophecy and tied to Israel. Revelation 21:9-10 calls the New Jerusalem "the bride, the Lamb's wife," a city prepared for redeemed Israel ( Isaiah 62:4-5; Hosea 2:19-20). John the Baptist called himself a "friend of the bridegroom" ( John 3:29), which places him outside the bride. Paul, while using marriage as a metaphor in Ephesians 5, still emphasizes the Body-not a bride-saying, "We are members of His body, of His flesh, and of His bones" ( Ephesians 5:30). The analogy teaches love and unity, not identity.

    Confusing the Bride with the Body blends Israel's earthly hope with the Church's heavenly calling ( Philippians 3:20). We are not awaiting a wedding ceremony, but rather a catching away ( 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17) to appear with Christ in glory. As members of His Body, we are already spiritually one with Him ( 1 Corinthians 6:17). Understanding this distinction preserves the truth of God's separate programs for Israel and the Church.

You can check out the following Bible passages: Matthew 7:1-5; Luke 6:37; John 7:24 (when we do have to make a judgement, it needs to be done righteously, i.e. correctly considering the whole matter without being censorious. See also 1 Corinthians 6:1-5 for judgement in the Church); Romans 14:1-13; 1 Corinthians 4:3-5; Colossians 2:16,17; James 4:11,12.

    But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death. ( James 1:14-15).

    If ye love me, keep my commandments. ( John 14:15).

    But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. ( Galatians 5:22-23).

    Sin is sin and it's end is basically the same. There are different reasons for our actions; and the intent of the heart is always factored in to any actions man does; whether outwardly good or bad. Trusting the Lord is a key issue as well; whether say a man falls into sin through sexual sin for physical gratification primarily and a woman for emotional security; both are trying to bring an end through a means that is displeasing to God.

    The world; of course sends us constant signals that immediate gratification is of paramount importance. The fruits of that are obvious; broken families; poor health; greed; covetousness and all the other sins indicated as warnings to us of those who will NOT enter the Kingdom of heaven if they make that their lifestyle. Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. ( 1 Corinthians 6:10-11).

    One thing which needs to be admonished is that the very real joy in the Spirit that is produced by those pleasing God is not to be sought out in order to enhance an emotional experience as it regards the opposite sex. The only means to that is a legitimate marriage covenant; and that by default negates facilitating anything outside of God's boundaries including another man's wife. We are not to jump the gun either by pursuing actions ahead of legitimate marriage also

    I pray that people will stumble upon my user name and accept what it says and TRULY OBEY THE WORDS OF GOD. Many Christians think they are going to inherit the kingdom of God by being unrighteous, yet Paul told us NOT so in 1 Corinthians 6:9-10. Whoever is reading this, if you are still in sin then do what exactly what Proverbs 28:13 says for forgiveness. God is real and He wants to see people FREE FROM THEIR SINS. There are MANY who unfortunately twist the word of God, and say we are all still sinners based on a passage in Romans 7:14-24, but they will NOT accept what verse 5 says in that same chapter. Nor will they read and study the chapters BEFORE and AFTER. If they truly loved Jesus and wanted the truth, then they would see in ROMANS 6 AND 8 that CHRISTIANS CAN STOP SINNING! They do the same thing with what Paul said in 1 Timothy 1:15, but will NOT BELIEVE what verses 12-14 say. WHOEVER IS READING THIS.... DO NOT GIVE UP! SEEK JESUS CHRIST WITH ALL YOUR HEART!

    Further warnings of spiritual "experiences" that have led people astray.

    Study into many cults shows similarities to the many revivals as to women being at the very least venerated as "Prophets" and in some cases practically deified and worshipped along with a spurious version of Christ. There are some exceptions with Whitfield and the Edwards and some others as to what appear to be true moves of God of repentance; and we need to look at the fruits of those who are in charge of such events to avoid deception to proliferate to the masses. I have stated before that a lack of Discipleship is evident particularly in the last 100 years when there were large revival or tent meetings; and this also reflects the weakness of the churches who have been present that some attend after conversion. I would state that people who repent at such gatherings should plan to work with local churches and vice versa and not plan on any type of movement to last for a great length of time. Certainly prayer and other necessary functions in the local churches must be emphasized for any long lasting true movements of God. The emphasis must be as it was with the sermon "sinners in the hands of an angry God" (Jonathan Edwards) rather than seeking an experience.

    1 Corinthians 5:11 But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat.

    1 Corinthians 6:9-10 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,

    10Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.

    It doesn't take much in studying many so called Apostles or revival leaders to see evidence of many of these bad fruits.

    I pray we see more producing good fruit in time.

    I believe we will have some part in the kingdom of heaven on earth, because where Christ is, we will be with him. One day we will see Apostle Paul in the heavenly kingdom where Jesus Christ dwell .

    We are one body with Christ Jesus.

    Romans 12:5

    We are going to be judged according to what we did with our earthly body for the Lord Jesus Christ.

    2 Corinthians 5:10

    For we must all appear before the judgment seatofChrist; that every one may receive the things done in hisbody, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.

    We don't have a new body until we die or be taken up in the clouds to meet Jesus Christ. We only have the Holy Spirit living inside us. We are still sinners, but sin less .

    1 Corinthians 6:19-20

    What? know ye not that your body is thetempleof the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.

    Time is running out, Jesus Christ will call us up .

    (1 Thessalonians Part 7):

    1 Thessalonians 4:3 - For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication:

    First of all, he says, for this is the will of God, even your sanctification. The word sanctification means to be set apart, to be taken out of a group and be put over on the side. That happens when God's Spirit comes into a person's spirit. That person is now set apart and belongs to Christ.

    It's kind of interesting because all these words, the holy in Holy Spirit, and the word sanctification are all from the same word. The Holy Spirit comes into my life and sets my life apart for Christ. I now belong to Christ. 1 Corinthians 6:19 says that not only did Jesus die for my sins, but He purchased me, and I am not my own, and that my body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. I've been purchased!

    It is God's will that I be sanctified and I am. Now he's saying learn how to walk in that sanctification. You can't walk in and out of sanctification.

    You see, our problem is that we don't understand sanctification. We don't understand that God now owns us, and He has set us apart for His purposes, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, because as soon as we get out of church, we go out and do what we want to do. We want to live life like everybody else does. And God's word says it doesn't work that way. God's will is your sanctification, your setting apart for Him.

    The word fornication is the Greek word PORNEA. It's where we get the word pornography from. Also, it's where the word prostitution comes from. It is sexual immorality. Abstain from sexual immorality. Again, in 1 Corinthians Chapter 6, Paul explains about that and says that your body is now the temple of the Holy Spirit. How do you take the temple of God and join it to a harlot? You can't. You'll be destroying yourself. You're sanctified, set apart!

    Apostle Paul might not be a angel , but he was the hardest working Apostle in history and we had the Twelve Apostles for the Jews.

    1 Corinthians 15:9-10

    9For I am the least of the apostles, that am not meet to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God.

    10But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.

    We that are saved will be judging angels.

    1 Corinthians 6:3

    Know ye not that we shall judgeangels? how much more things that pertain to this life?

    The only angel to be careful of is Satan himself.

    2 Corinthians 11:14

    And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into anangelof light.

    All Apostle Paul wants us to do is follow the gospel of grace in his Epistles.

    Philippians 1:7

    Even as it is meet for me to think thisofyou all, because I have you in my heart; in as much as both in my bonds, and in the defence and confirmationofthegospel, ye all are partakersofmygrace

    May we know the Gospel of Grace in Apostle Paul's epistle.

    Is the Holy Spirit God ? ? Was Mother Mary married twice, once from the Holy Ghost and the other from Joseph. The Holy Spirit is a person from Heaven.

    That person that is Righteous living in you is the Holy Ghost, the new creature in Christ. Just think about it, I have Jesus Christ in my heart .

    Now that you have the Holy Spirit, God owns you and Satan can not take you away.

    By reading and studying the word of truth, we are going to be able to walk with God in the Holy Spirit.

    The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:

    The Holy Spirit will help us in our Bible study and reading.

    The Holy Spirit has feelings.

    Hello Timmywynne. There are many Scriptures that point to the Triune Nature of God, and specifically, that Jesus Christ & the Holy Spirit are revealed to us from the very Being of God the Father. When we think of the Trinity, we know we won't find that word in the Bible, as it is purely a descriptive word of what the Bible declares to be the fullness of God's Being. So to the verses you seek, and you will need to read them fully in your Bible.

And we know that Jesus, as the Word of God clothed with humanity, is the very expression of God to the world ( John 14:9; 1 Timothy 3:16; 1 John 4:2).     Hi Timmywynne, the trinity Godhead is real and true. It started also with Adam and Eve. God made them a living soul first , then flesh. The spirit communicated with God , like a cb radio.

    We can't see the soul and spirit, doesn't mean we don't have it. If we believe the Bible is true because Jesus Christ is the author, then we have a soul and spirit. We that are saved will also have a new body fashioned like Jesus Christ.

    1 Thessalonians 5:23

    23 And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

    1 Corinthians 6:20

    For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in yourbody,andin yourspirit, which are God's.

    Jesus Christ will give us a new body .

    Ephesians 5:30

    For we are members of his body, of hisflesh,andof hisbones.

    Because God is sovereign, He must at the very least, God "permits" all events and happenings. Within God's sovereign will, He chooses to allow many things to occur that do not bring Him pleasure. Referring again to the example of Joseph and his brothers, God decided, through an act of His decretive will, to permit the kidnapping and enslavement of Joseph. God's permissive will allowed the sins of Joseph's brothers to bring about a greater good (see Genesis 50:20). Despite every instance of mistreatment towards Joseph, God had the power to intervene, but He "allowed" the evil to take place, and in that limited sense, He sovereignly "willed" it to happen.

    God's revealed or preceptive will is not concealed from us. This aspect of God's will encompasses what God has chosen to disclose to us in the Bible-His precepts are clearly stated. "He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God" ( Micah 6:8).

    The preceptive will of God is what He desires us to do (or not do). For instance, we understand that it is God's will for us to speak the truth in love ( Ephesians 4:15), to repent, and turn to God ( Acts 3:19). It is God's revealed will that we refrain from committing adultery.

    Obeying God's revealed will is crucial. As stated in ( 1 Corinthians 6:18), we should avoid sexual immorality. Similarly, ( Ephesians 5:18) advises against drunkenness. God's revealed will, as mentioned in ( Psalm 19:7), serves to guide and enlighten us.

    We are bound to follow God's revealed or preceptive will, although we retain the ability to disobey. Adam and Eve, for instance, were instructed to be fruitful, tend the garden, and avoid a specific tree ( Genesis 1-2). Regrettably, they defied God's instructions ( Genesis 3) and faced the consequences of their actions. We cannot justify our sins by claiming they fulfill God's sovereign will.

    Ephesians 1:7 - In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;

    In whom (that is in Christ), we have redemption through his blood, that is, the forgiveness of sins. So, redemption equals the forgiveness of sins. And this again is on the basis of according to the riches of his grace;

    According to the wealth of God's grace, He provides this for us. The word redemption means to purchase out of the marketplace. They used to line up slaves down at the markets, and people would come down specifically to get a slave. They would buy one. They would purchase him out of the marketplace.

    That's what redemption means. Not only do we have forgiveness of sins, but that forgiveness comes through His blood, and it was through His blood that He purchased us. Some believers either forget, or don't realize what Paul says in 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 that our bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, which you have from God, for you were bought with a price. He owns us. We've been purchased. That's why when we get to Verse 14, when the Holy Spirit seals us, He's waiting for the day that He comes for His possession. You see, He bought us. He owns us!

    Ephesians 1:8 - Wherein he hath abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence;

    The word prudence means insight. He has given us the ability to see and understand spiritual things. It's interesting that the word prudence gives us understanding. Many believers have understanding, but wisdom is the application of that understanding.

    In other words, I can train my mind to memorize the bible where if you just mention a word that is found in the bible, I would start quoting scriptures. But that's not necessarily wisdom. Wisdom is to be able to see and know and have the realization of that truth working in your life. It's not something we claim. It's something that's going on! He abounds towards us in wisdom and insight.

    (1 Corinthians Part 9):

    1 Corinthians 6:4 - If then ye have judgments of things pertaining to this life, set them to judge who are least esteemed in the church.

    This Greek word EXOUTHENEO has to do with the same word that we see in Romans 14:1 about let the older brother not despise the younger or make light of. This is a person that people don't take too seriously. It's interesting that Paul is saying this on purpose because it's not a matter of picking out people in your midst who have all the education and experience, and to judge these matters because obviously they can't do it impartially. Take the person that God can use!

    He says to take the person that's least esteemed in the church. Of course, that might not glorify you if someone comes up to you and says, "that's you!"

    1 Corinthians 6:9 - Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,

    This word "effeminate" literally means "boy abusers."

    "Abusers of themselves with mankind" is one Greek word that is the word homosexual.

    1 Corinthians 6:10 - Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.

    Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers (and that's the word insult), nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. These are nouns, not verbs. In other words, that's their whole character all of the time. So, these nouns describe kinds of people to where their whole lifestyle is characterized by these things. They shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

    What he's saying is you are bringing your complaint against your fellow Christian to the non-believer and they're not even going to inherit the kingdom of God. They are so corrupt, and you are asking them to judge between you and another brother.

    Spiritual warfare

    I need to remind myself more and more often that all the events we see in the world today are just a reflection of what is going on in high places today; with the raging spiritual war in the 2nd heaven. Of course it is only through the 3rd heaven; exercising the authority through the Spirit of the power of Christ above that enables us to actually engage in any combat to resist the legions of evil that are controlling the masses today.

    The sad fact is that many professing believers aren't really in the faith at all; and the rest that are only have a small segment that are in this "vertical" aspect in the spiritual realm. In terms of what is proclaimed; therefore in the first example people are calling on endless blessings by making presumptuous proclamations and twisting certain verses to align with their own agendas. In the second case; for all those who have the potential to be in the battle many aren't protected with the proper armor or are not offensively fighting with the sword of the Spirit as Ephesians 12 tells us to do as our only offensive weapon we have.

    It is one thing to preach of God's love and forgiveness to God's enemies as Jesus did; selflessly until death. People can over or underemphasize the fact of man's depravity and enmity with God with humans; but with demons and Satan himself we dare not make the mistake of viewing them as anything but enemies; out to steal; kill and destroy both our own lives as individuals through various means such as intimidation; accusation and temptation but also controlling the whole world system (world; flesh and devil).

    Here is some practical advice.

    James 1:26

    1 Corinthians 6:9-10

    Jude 1:23

    2 Timothy 3:13

    Ephesians 5:11-12

    2 Corinthians 6:17

    1 Peter 5:8-9

    Proverbs 4:23-27

    God is working all things according to His purposes for our good. To be tried we are tested to see what is genuine ( 1 Peter 1:7).

    May God grant us the strength to endure until the end.

    144,000

    The Old Testament Saints were given the same promise as those of the house of David are given today:

    IMMORTAL LIFE

    The Old Testament Saints could not receive that promise because Christ, the resurrection, had not yet come to fulfill the prophecies.

    They DIED not yet receiving the promise, immortal life.

    Hebrews 11:39 And all these, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise:

    Hebrews 11:40 God having something BETTER for us, that they (the saints of old) without us should not be made perfect (the image of Christ, being resurrected with Christ as ONE FLESH).

    The 144,000 are those OLD SAINTS, from the twelve tribes of Israel, the first fruits of his resurrection, we are a kind of first fruit, also being resurrected with Christ.

    Zachariah 12:7 The LORD also shall SAVE (give immortal life) to the house of JUDAH FIRST (the 144,00), that the GLORY of the house of David and Jerusalem doth not magnify THEMSELVES against the the house of Judah.

    The kingdom of God, IS CHRIST.

    1 Corinthians 15:53 ... this MORTAL shall put on IMMORTALITY ......

    1 Timothy 6:16 ...Christ ONLY hath IMMORTALITY .....

    1 Corinthians 6:16 .... for TWO, saith he, shall be ONE FLESH .....

    And the LORD spake unto Moses face to face, as a man speaketh unto his friend. And he turned again into the camp: but his servant Joshua, the son of Nun, a young man, departed not out of the tabernacle. ( Exodus 33:11).

    Having wiped out my most recent attempt at this post TWICE now (aargh) I'll give it one final "hail Mary" as it were.

    I suppose once I've committed the entire Bible to memory I'll stop pushing the wrong button to find verses online that knocks me out.

    Anyway; I started posting today as I saw a couple individuals concerned about their salvation and it seemed to be a topic needing to be addressed. Earlier I stated that POST salvation that there is indeed a "two way" communication between a believer and the Lord; as it were in prayer. Proverbs 4:18 says But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day. Thus; if we know the Lord we learn to recognize our own flaws with mental processes and emotional issues as well as physical desires that all can lead us to sin. I consider doctrines of election as important for many reasons not the least being that God never changes and His covenants relate to that.

    Hebrews 8:10 declares "For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:"

    As a vessel fit for His purposes we are not our own as 1 Corinthians 6:20 states we were "bought with a price." Of course all souls are mine as Esekiel 18:4 states. There are two polar opposites we want to avoid; first fear and cowardice which is warned about in Revelation 22 as something that brings people to hell; but also being presumptuous in for instance; claiming that we no longer sin as believers.

    God gives us courage; as He did for Peter after Christ's Ascencion. Dying to self brings true joy! It comes from God not our own hand!

    But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. ( Revelation 21:8)

    These verses at the end of the Bible and representing the end of the wicked is the end result of those who won't heed to warnings such as 1 Corinthians 6:9-11; see also Galatians 5:19; Ephesians 5:5 and many other scriptures on the subject. We do well to heed to what was said in the last verse of 1 Corinthians 6 of this reference (v. 11) where it states that some were this but they have been sanctified and justified.

    There are several issues here that I feel need to be addressed. First is the difference between a sinful lapse; a sinful habit and a sinful lifestyle. All three of these behaviors could be attributed to nonbelievers; albeit in today's society there would be few that would care about a slip up except perhaps some atheists who hold to what they consider a moral standard superior to much of society. Clearly as a Christian we shouldn't play games with God with any type of sin. The third category; however is something that must be abandoned; otherwise there is no fruit of our salvation. Also we undestand that breaking the law in one area makes us guilty of breaking it all ( James 2:10). Often one sin leads to another; whether it is abuse or abandonment of a family due to the greed of a gambling addiction (something which is being advertised currently in local media); or murder stemming from the bad fruit of adultery or fornication that usually is also tied to greed or jealousy; etc.

    The word "fearful" in Revelation 21:8 is in many translations "cowardly". It results when men fear man over God which we are to have a healthy fear of and ignores ( Proverbs 29:25). Wanting the praise of men is at least equally if not worse because it compromises our bold witness against sin ( John 12:43).

    Wondering what others believe about this verse about everything God created being "good"- Some use this to say it's morally ok for them to do drugs like weed, cocaine, mushrooms, meth?

    "For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving:" 1 Timothy 4:4 KJV. Also Genesis 1:31, Romans 14:14, Acts 11:7-9

    At what point do we believe something is no longer God's creation, but a man-made creation, like a drug made in a lab? And how do we balance that with harming the body? "What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?" 1 Corinthians 6:19 KJV

    First Corinthians 5:11 states:

    But now I am writing to you that you must not associate with anyone who claims to be a brother or sister but is sexually immoral or greedy, an idolater or slanderer, a drunkard or swindler. Do not even eat with such people.

    I have focused in today's postings on those who are nonbelievers; whether in an openly hostile lifestyle to God's Word; or a person who in their own efforts tries to be good and has the outward appearance of a morally responsible individual.

    Exodus 12:48 states: A foreigner residing among you who wants to celebrate the LORD's Passover must have all the males in his household circumcised; then he may take part like one born in the land. No uncircumcised male may eat it.

    (in short no pain no gain)

    Leviticus 17:8-9 shows the rules of sacrificing before God were the same for a foreigner as well as an Israelite.

    These verses are brought out to demonstrate that in the house of God there is no pandering for special interests. In the age of Grace we must accept His sacrificial atonement for our sins; and live accordingly. Just as we can't let the enemy in the camp as a principle in the Old Testament; this verse in Corinthians along with others show that we CANNOT fellowship with those who are sexually immoral; which includes homosexuality; fornication and adultery (and the theme is repeated in 1 Corinthians 6:9). Similar warnings are found in 2 Timothy; Ephesians and 2 Thessalonians and other places. We also need to address the rest of the verse about greedy people or swindlers; and that in many cases involves the Pastor himself. Someone partaking in New Age would be an idolater; and a slanderer could be someone caught up in gossip and believing everything he hears or deliberately lying. Finally; a drunkard which may be the one sin people tend to agree on also needs to repent; but such a person when reformed tends to display the most radical changes of all.     Witnessing today in today's culture: Introduction

    Today people are often identified by their political affiliation or the community that they identify as "politically correct". In reality this often makes a particular sin the sum of their identity (such as those in the pro choice or same sex attraction crowd.) We don't see such titles given for individuals committing such activities in scripture; where infanticide was performed by those who would identify as idol worshippers (Molech worshippers for example); or sodomites would often be classified by their social status as to who was the perpetrator and who was the victim of such atrocities in the time of Christ. 1 Kings 14:24 talks in general about sodomites and the abominations that they were involved with; and it seems that they did live in the same area as we see with the story of Sodom and Gomorrah thousands of years before Christ.

    We need to take heart; as we see in the story of Jonah that even the most wicked people can repent. Today it seems mainly with individuals who are "detransitioning" for instance that the Lord indeed can change people; and when we see legislation against preaching such truths those who used to live that lifestyle of course are most affected. 1 Corinthians 6:9-11 identifies those now sanctified as believers who used to live sinful lifestyles. While it is true that there are particular sins; such as shedding of innocent blood that God particularly hates ( Proverbs 6:16-19); all sin leads to death. Clearly at this point the world doesn't celebrate someone who identifies themselves as a thief; extortioner; murderer and some other things but we should expect that it will once we get to the Tribulation or perhaps sooner when "anyone who kills you will think that they are doing God a favor." ( John 16:2).

    We need also to get beyond the stereotypes the world is giving us of those in the LGBTQ+. Some are conservatives and some liberal politically for instance. More later.
