Discuss 2 Chronicles 32

Hello Mara. As Gigi has shared with you, Hezekiah was a king of Judah. He was the son of King Ahaz ( 2 Kings 18:1) & reigned from 715-686 BC, and at this time the Prophet Isaiah was prophesying. Ezekiel was called a priest, son of Buzi ( Ezekiel 1:3) and was among the captives that the Babylonian king had taken from Judah ( Ezekiel 1:1). And it was during the captivity, that Ezekiel began receiving visions from God (around 600 BC), some 86 years after the death of King Hezekiah. Therefore, Hezekiah & Ezekiel cannot be the same person because of the years they lived & their different status (King & priest/prophet).

One thing that has come to my mind, is that you might have seen the name, Ezekias, somewhere and this has caused you this confusion. This name (Ezekias) is the Romanized writing of the Hebrew, Hezekiah, and is not the Prophet Ezekiel. Hope that helps to clarify the matter.

Hi Mara, I believe that Hezekiah was appointed king over Judah. Ezekiel was a prophet.

The Priest Hezekiah And Ezekiel Are The Same Person, The 48 Chapter Of The Book Of Ezekiel, Isaiah Chapter 38:1-22; Second Kings Chapter 20:1-21; Second Chronicles Chapter 32:1-33. Why Are They Portrait As Two Different People?

Interesting that you bring up Hezekiah, the LORD several times put that name in my thoughts. In 2 Chronicles 28:27 - 2 Chronicles 29, 30, 31, Hezekiah did much good. 2 Chronicle 32:30,

I felt a warning also about being like Hezekiah. In 2 Kings 18:16 , Hezekiah "cut off the gold from the doors of the temple of the LORD, and from the pillars._.' & gave it to the king of Assyira" I asked myself was it to save the people from war? Was it fear? Either way all that sacrifice & peace offering didn't stop the evil nor the attacks. 2 Kings 18:17-32, they even used that against Hezekiah when they mocked. 2 Kings 18:22, 2 Kings 18:29-30, 2 Chronicle 32, Isaiah 36:7-22,

Then Hezekiah came to Isaiah 2 Kings 19:1-5, & sought-after the LORD 2Kings 19:14-16,

Another warning I felt 2 Kings 20:12-18,

& 2Kings 20:19, he seemed unconcerned about the bad consequences Hezekiah himself had caused to his own offspring. 2 Chronicles 32:25-26, 2 Chronicles 32:27,

Hopefully these speak deeper to you as they did me. GOD help us * not give what is HOLY & sanctified to GOD over to enemies, * that we won't cause bad consequences to future generations, * that we will care about future generations & not life ourselves too highly with treasure. To bsp: can you show me in the word of god where hezekiah ever paid tribute to sennecherib ? if not, then maybe you are making assumptions. if it is not in there, then don't say it. if it is, then show me.

Verse 7~Hezekiah knew that Jehovah and his angels were with him so this helped him to be courageous.

Verses 3 and 4: King Hezekiah took practical steps to make sure that he didn't just make it easy for the Assyrians to come and take them over.

BSP Hezekiah didn't pay tribute to the Assyrians. He prayed and a angle of the Lord came down and defeated the Assyrians. He trussed in the Lord.

God is ever with His people as long as they stay at the centre of His will. The Hezekiah and Sennacherib story tells us to depend only on the true God. Sennacherib boasted: "shall not the God of Hezekiah deliver his people out of mine hand." He perished at the end of the day. We should not worship God and mammon.

Verses 7,8: Hezekiah encouraged the people with strengthening words. In order to prepare for future trials we need to strengthen our faith in God and rely on him.

Verses 23 and 27 bring out that Hezekiah received gold and material things. This may have allowed him to replenish his treasures after paying tribute to the Assyrians.

A timely message from Heavenly Father's proposed purpose for King Hezekiah down through time, to a place such as this. The space I take up before Him now. The message remains the same 'this day for myself' namely, Remember His great merciful kindnesses to me and mine. Repent, return to Him and re-connect to the Great I Am. Then, allow Him full sway, and Return to His presence, knowing there is nowhere else more sure.

it might be all a part of God 's good plan to be silent for a period of time. it might be him dealing with our heart. if so, the silence means God cares about our heart, which is an important part of us.

Since Hezekiah had been guilty of pride and not responding to the kindness God had done to him, he was left alone so that it could be tested whether his repentance was sincere and lasting.
