2 Timothy 2:15 is a powerful verse. If we do not learn how to rightly divide the word of truth, we will be lost understanding the chain of events from the time God brought the Hebrews from the Land of Egypt until The Christ Lord Jesus died on the cross up to our time today which is approximately 2,000 years. Honestly, we do not have time. As you all noticed the rapid days go by quickly as God says 2 Peter 3:8 and you see Psalms 2:1-12
I do not mind repeating to all that the Bible is a complete book Revelation 19:13 for us today to prepare ourselves and others. I pray all to be saved. We cannot have the people caught unaware of Matthew 24:37. To rightly divide is to know for us today what we need to do. So I will say that the 11 apostles messages are important for the physical Jews Matthew 10:5-7 at the end time; and there are verses in Matthew, Mark, Luke and John that pertains to a spiritual Christians of today.
God had chosen Paul to be His vessel so we can read and believe not in vain. Study the Book of Romans to Philemon because he was the Last and believe it or not the 12th Apostle Galatians 1:1, Acts 9:15, Acts 13:47, Acts 22:21, Roman's 11:13, Ephesians 3:8, 1 Timothy 2:7, Galatians 1:16. After Jesus died He says Hebrews 9:14-17. Then you are Ephesians 1:12-14, 2 Timothy 2:19 and 2 Corinthians 1:22. Therefore, 1 Corinthians 9:2 just like Romans 15:28. Ephesians 4:30 and sing Psalms 49:8, 111:9, 130:7. In conclusion my fellow-believers, Paul is sealed 1 Corinthians 9:2 by God to be our apostle today. Weneedtoputtheworkof Paul not in vain Galatians 6:11. Paul tells us Romans 2:16, Romans 16:25, 2 Timothy 2:8. And the gospel is 1 Corinthians 15:1-4. Then we are sealed Ephesians 1:13. Perhaps you are not understanding me because Revelation 18:4, Proverbs 20:1, Roman's 7:11, 1 Corinthians 6:9, 1 Corinthians 15:33, Galatians 6:7, 1 Timothy 2:14, 2 Timothy 3:13, Titus 3:3, and lastly Revelation 18:23. Psalm 37:1-40 then we meditate Psalms 27:1-3. Shalom/Agape.
Nehemiah 13:19, There's many more scriptures, hopefully you'll find them all helpful
Jesus observed the Sabbath & fulfilling the Sacrifice: Luke 23:17,54,55,56, John 19:31, Acts 13:27, Matthew 28:1, Mark 6:2, Mark 16:1, Matthew 8:17, Luke 4:21, Acts 13,
Albert The question answers itself since the true God and father of our lord Jesus Christ is all good then logically the adversary or satan is the author of all evil so cain was spiritually his child not by flesh and blood. Look at acts 13:10 Paul calls out elymus
the sorcerer and he became blind. Also in john 8 starting verse 13 talkuing to the leaders ye are from beneath Iam from above
also verses 38-44 same people and in verse 44 ye are of or from your father the devil this is spiritual not physical. a person can get born again of the true God and a persson can get born again of satan which is irreversable which is why Jesus Christ said to
ythem you will die in your sin they were unredeemable. It is written
Yes, Jesus did send Paul to preach Christs Gospel - not a different gospel!
Paul and all of the apostles observed God's 10 Commandments per the scriptures.
Paul and the Apostles taught both Jews and Gentiles to follow God's Commandments, including the 4th Commandment, Keep holy the Sabbath Day.
Acts 13:42
"And when the Jews were gone out of the synagogue, the Gentiles besought that these words might be preached to them the next sabbath."
Acts 13:44
"And the next sabbath day came almost the whole city together to hear the word of God."
Under the "New Covenant" which is the Church of Jesus Christ, consists of Jews and Gentiles, and they are all treated the same! No difference. Remember the Gentiles were a wild olive tree. The believing Gentiles branches from the wild olive tree have been grafted into the original Jewish olive tree. Those that produce good fruit can stay in place and thrive. If a branch does not produce it is broken off and burned.
Jesus Christ asks us to keep the Commandments. John 14:15 "If ye love me, keep my commandments." How can we say we love Jesus, but then we don't try our best to follow the Commandments? The answer" You can't love Jesus and NOT keep "The Commandments"!
As Christian's (Christ Followers) we need to pick up our crosses and follow Jesus, and in doing so, pray that the Holy Spirit will help us along, in the ongoing struggle to follow all of Jesus/God's commands! This then, would be in conformance with the scripture, that show us that Paul, Peter, and all of the Apostles had their own personal struggles to follow and keep God's Commandments.
In summary, Paul does not cancel anything that Jesus taught and instructed in His Gospel.
I hope this is what you were looking for. I know people say things like, "I'll love you to the ends of the earth."
I'm not sure it's the same as scriptures. This is just a little slice of a larger pool of scripture. You might enjoy learning how to use the SEARCH ENGINE out on the red page where you come into this website.
Even just remembering a part of a scripture, it will do its best to find everything with that hint.
Acts 13:47
For so hath the Lord commanded us, saying, I have set thee to be a light of the Gentiles, that thou shouldest be for salvation unto the ENDS OF THE EARTH.
Romans 10:18
But I say, Have they not heard? Yes verily, their sound went into all the earth, and their words unto the ends of the world.
1 Corinthians 10:11
Now all these things happened unto them for examples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.
2 Peter 3:7
But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto FIRE against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.
Revelation 1:7
Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen.
Revelation 5:3
And no man in heaven, nor in earth, neither under the earth, was able to open the book, neither to look thereon.
Mark 16:15
And he said unto them, Go ye into ALL of the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
Sabbath observance, and teachings by the Apostle Paul.
The Jews and Gentiles that made up the early church's that were established by Paul were specifically taught to observe the Sabbath. The scriptures show that Paul personally kept the 7th Day Sabbath, and he taught the Gentiles to do the same.
Acts 13:42
"And when the Jews were gone out of the synagogue, the Gentiles besought that these words might be preached to them the next sabbath."
Acts 13:44
"And the next sabbath day came almost the whole city together to hear the word of God."
Contrary to the popular but mistaken modern day doctrines, Paul did not put forth a different gospel or different approach to the law or grace from what Jesus Christ and the Apostles taught. If we study the bible and believe the scripture, we will see the Truth.
Paul always spoke highly of God's commandments and by his examples he showed a high commitment to the 7th Day Sabbath.
I count 5. Like 2:4 "family of David", Acts 7:14, joseph's family, Acts 13:26, Abrahams family, Eph. 3:15 family in heaven, and 1Ti. 5:4 " in regard to their own family"
I've understood it to be similar to Simon called Peter: Matthew 4:18, Matthew 10:2, different than Acts 8:9, & Luke, Acts 10:18, Acts 13:1, Acts 13:9, Acts 14:2, notice in Acts, the same book, there are multiple names referenced even a wind, Acts 27:14, Acts 27:8, Hebrews 11:18,
Matthew 1:6 Jesus called Christ, John 4:25, Luke 6:15, John 1:42, John 11:16, not Colossians 4:11,
Romans 2:17, Romans 7:3, same supposed writer as Acts , also Romans 9:26
Matthew 26:14, Luke 23:33, John 19:13, John 19:17, Acts 6:9, Revelation 11:8,
Revelation 12:9,
Luke 2:4, Luke 8:2, John 21:2, different than Acts 9:11,
David obeyed his father 1Samuel 16:11, 1Samuel 17:15,17,18,
David protected the sheep, & defended Israel, risking his life 1Samuel 17:34-37, 1Samuel 17:45-52,
David served even though he was anointted king , 1Samuel 16:1,13,21,23, John 13:3-15,
Jesus being the perfect example.
This Psalm says 2Samuel 22:1, is when GOD delivered David from death by king Saul's doing. If we go into scripture of that time. King saul had promised David his daughter in marriage at, 1Samuel 17:25, please read 1Samuel 17, through- 2Samuel 1, to get understanding of what David went through from Saul, he had one wife at the time he was finally given one by Saul that Saul later gave to another man. Abigal was the widow of Nabal.
Looking at the lineage Abraham & Israel possibly set the example of multiple wives, which was trouble to them, in Genesis, yes Isaac appears to have one wife. It didn't go well with David's household. These are examples also to cultures that believe in multiple wives.
Adultery is sin against someone else's spouse. If one or both are married to someone else. Etc.
I believe the scripture is pointing out David's innocent claims about being upright in his own mind because he didn't take revenge, jump the timing of his kingship, nor kill Saul when he had the chance. Please read, 1Samuel 24,
Amen. Very well stated, including the scripture you presented regarding the need for present day Christians to observe the 7th day Sabbath.
Contrary to what many modern day Christians profess, Paul did NOT change the 7th Day Sabbath. Paul didn't teach a different gospel of law or grace than Jesus Christ and the other apostles. Paul and the Apostle's totally respected and followed God's commandments - per the scriptures, and Paul always displayed total respect for the Sabbath Day - per the scripture!
Paul's teaching of the early churches included both Jews and Gentiles, and regularly took place on the 7th day Sabbath. The scriptures PROVE that Paul personally kept the 7th day Sabbath, and he certainly taught the Gentiles to do the same. Paul did not teach a different gospel or different approach to the law or grace from what Jesus Christ and the other apostles taught.
The churches-whether made up of Jews or Gentiles, that were established by Paul and the other Apostles observed the Sabbath.
Acts 13:42
"And when the Jews were gone out of the synagogue, the Gentiles besought that these words might be preached to them the next sabbath."
Acts 13:44
"And the next sabbath day came almost the whole city together to hear the word of God."
Those that feel that Jesus/God or Paul changed the requirement to no longer follow God's Commandments including the 7th Day Sabbath, is not supported by the scripture.
Read the comment listed prior to this one as it does list a few named in the Bible. The greatest false prophet of all in the Bible that's still around today is the anti-Christ. He hasn't revealed himself yet but the power behind him is satan.
There are some others in the New Testament the same:
Yes & No. We did need prophesy at the beginning of the New Covenant. Christ Jesus and His finished work brought forth the New Covenant. However, the "real" apostles (those in the New Testament) prophesied (e.g. -- 1st & 2nd Thessalonians have much prophesy concerning what is to coming during the rapture, tribulation and 2nd coming).
Those which were fulfilled by Christ before He ascended though...
His Resurrection & Ascension
The 1st verse is when these events were prophesied and the latter when they were fulfilled.
Raised from the deadPs 16:8-11Acts 2:24-31
Begotten as Son of GodPs 2:7Acts 13:32-35
Ascended to GodPs 68:18Eph 2:8-10
Seated beside GodPs 110:1Heb 1:3+13
There remain a number of prophesies unfulfilled which are written in the book of Revelation (which given to us under the New Covenant and concords with scripture as far back as Leviticus).
What prophesy has ceased? Absolutely everything after Revelation chapter 22. No one has prophesy beyond what's written in the Bible. The Holy Bible is a finished work but an ongoing prophesy. Each time someone stands up and says "I had a vision", "I have a prophesy..." this is not true.
Revelation 22:18-19
"For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book."
That warning is to anyone who dare prophesy beyond the prophesies already written in the Holy Bible. The last prophet is Christ Jesus and none other. When John the beloved died -- this is the last God ever revealed new prophesy and with so much yet to come; how is it some are adding to this? Did they not read the warning above?
1st, because this scripture has put an emotion in you. I assume GOD is working on something within you, possibly to show you truth or study deeper.
2nd, pray for wisdom also James 1:5, in what GOD wants to reveal to you, deeper than I may show you.
3rd, to me I understand this Psalms 11, & Psalms 11:3, appears to be written by David, it seems to point to when he was being pursued by Saul into the mountains. Please read 1Samuel 19:10, 1Samuel 18:29, 1Samuel 23:26, could David be referring to the foundation being destroyed referring to himself? 1Kings 9:5, Jeremiah 33:17, Psalms 132:11, being the promise of GOD to establish HIS throne through David?
4th, because the temple wasn't made yet, 1Chronicles 28:3-21, Psalms 127:1,
5th, however David's Psalms were also prophetic like Psalms 22,
6th, Jesus being in the lineage of David: Matthew 22:42, Acts 13:22, Matthew 1:1,
7th, other scripture: Isaiah 28:16, 1Corinthians 3:11-17,
I've met many atheists who've come to Christ. They have more hope than we sometimes give credit for as they're searching for answers. Most naturalist atheists I've met are more than willing to sit down and talk about the word of God. Those who have no political attachment tend to be more open to listening to the Gospel. I'd let her know that if she's your friend (your sister) that you love her and there's only truth in love. Tell her that the truth is simple. If we complicated the Truth, it would be hard for anyone to accept Christ Jesus. But here's that simple Truth of Salvation:
Titus 1:2, "In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, PROMISED before the world began."
Acts 13:39, "And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses."
[Law cannot justify, you can't justify your self, philosophy and religion cannot justify you...only justification through the Blood of Christ Jesus]
"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God" ( Romans 3:23)
Romans 10:8-13
"But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him."
The religious of this world seek to complicate the simple Truth (Salvation) of Christ with doctrines, sacraments, laws, pre-requisites and but these verses are Truth and the Truth shall set you free.
13For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
If the Spirit speaks to one to keep Sabbath as a rest day, then to that person they should abide - but to another, the Sabbath was not given to Gentiles & any day can be for rest & also for worship ( Romans 14:5,6 & the whole chapter).
Gentile? If you have no Jewish heritage, then you fall under the Gentile category. If the Gentile has not received the Law, he is a law unto himself ( Romans 2:14,15). Of course, all peoples are under governmental law, unless they're hidden away from society. But for both the Jewish Christian & Gentile Christian, the old Law has no more application or binding, for we are now subject to the Law of the Spirit. I don't believe that anyone with the Holy Spirit within them would ever be led to murder, commit fornication, & other sins. If a believer does sin, then he's going against the Spirit's ministry & appealing to his flesh (& this is why Paul spoke of crucifying the flesh ( Galatians 5:24,25)).
Jew? When I wrote, 'Jewish convert', I meant that such a person still retains his Jewish heritage/bloodline, but has relinquished all that kept him bound to his faith (Judaism), finding forgiveness of sins, new life & liberty through the promised Messiah, Jesus Christ. The Jews today still await the Messiah, but Jesus came, but they refused Him & crucified Him ( John 1:10-14). But the day will come when they will acknowledge Jesus ( Zechariah 12:10,11; Revelation 1:7,8). People have in the past become Jewish proselytes, embracing Judaism, its Laws & Practises ( Exodus 12:48,49; Acts 2:10; Acts 6:5; Acts 13:43). I hope that I've covered all your questions; if you have other questions feel free to start a new thread. Blessings.
The Apostle Paul ( Romans 1:1), who was originally named Saul ( Acts 7:58) of Tarsus ( Acts 22:3), but eventually became known as Paul ( Acts 13:9), dictated the letter to Tertius ( Romans 16:22). The account of most of what is known about his life story was written about by Luke in the Book of Acts. Acts 7:58-60, Acts 8:1-4, Acts 9:1-31, Acts 11:25-30, Acts 12:24-25, Acts 13 to Acts 28.
The Apostle Paul is recognized as the author of most of the Epistles (Apostolic letters) in the New Testament, which include Romans, 1 Corinthians, 2 Corinthians, Galatians. Ephesians. Philippians, Colossians, 1 Thessalonians, 2 Thessalonians, 1 Timothy, 2 Timothy, Titus and Philemon. Some also consider him the author of Hebrews, but the authorship of that book is not known for sure.
Hello, someone else recently asked this question as well.
I don't think there's 100% proof of one way or the other, as wood from a cross comes from a tree, so I think calling it either would be correct.
But my opinion is that it was both. Based on my Israel tour and my understanding that trees were commonly used for crucifixion, I think they carried the cross beam and nailed it to existing trees, as that is more practical than driving a vertical post into the ground from scratch each time. The horizontal beam forms an X cross on the tree which is why its called a cross. This is part speculation and opinion, not based on much evidence other than some verses calling it 'tree' like Acts 13:29.
God please be with us! Please be on our side! Help us and be with us always who seek Your face. Avenge us, heal us, lead us, guide us with Your Holy Spirit and Wisdom. We desire You Lord, please come to us as we seek Your face this morning.

Paul teaches the opposite of what you said for this age Col 2:16.
Of course Jesus preached the sabbath he was a Jew and kept the Law.
Please read Gal 1-3, Eph 1-3 and Col 1-3 to understand Paul's gospel.
It is not the same as what Jesus taught.
Paul's gospel is called a mystery (secret) and was faith ALONE in the finished work of the cross.
Jesus nor the 12 taught this.
Read Peters sermon in Acts 2-3, he teaches the cross as a murder indictment.
Please read Jer 31:31-34, Eze 36:21-28 and Heb 8:8-10
The New Covenant belongs to "Israel and Judah"
This is the clear teaching of scripture, I understand this is not what church tradition teaches.
Paul says we SHOULD love another, Jesus taught that loving one another was REQUIRED for salvation.
The book of 1 John is clear loving was REQUIRED.
Jesus mistered to Israel the gospel of the kingdom. (Israel's prophesied and promised earthly kingdom.)
Paul ministers to ALL the gospel of the grace of God, and it was a mystery.
Please do a word study on the word Mystery.

God Bless.
There are some others in the New Testament the same:
Elymas ( Acts 13:6-12)
Simon Magus ( Acts 8:9-24)
Noadiah ( Nehemiah 6:14); Hananiah (Jeremiah chapter 28); Ahab & Zedekiah ( Jeremiah 29:21); Barjesus/Elymas ( Acts 13:6); the false prophet in Revelation 16:13; 19:20; 20:10.
Numbers 8:14, 1Kings 8:53, Jeremiah 1:5, Matthew 25:32-41, Luke 6:22, Acts 13:2, 2Corinthians 6:17, Hebrews 7:26, Matthew 22:1-14, 1Peter 2:9,
Romans 9:21-24,
Hopefully these are helpful
4th, because the temple wasn't made yet, 1Chronicles 28:3-21, Psalms 127:1,
5th, however David's Psalms were also prophetic like Psalms 22,
6th, Jesus being in the lineage of David: Matthew 22:42, Acts 13:22, Matthew 1:1,
7th, other scripture: Isaiah 28:16, 1Corinthians 3:11-17,
Hopefully this is helpful
John 11:2,
This, Psalms 2, seems to me, to point to JESUS The MESSIAH, Promised one the one Savior to save all mankind, who will believe, Psalms 2:2
Psalms 2:7, look at JESUS during His baptism, Mark 1:11, Matthew 3:17, & Acts 13:33, Hebrews 1:5, Hebrews 5:5,
Psalms 2:8, JESUS when He was taken to the high place to be tempted, Matthew 4:8-10,
Psalms 2:2, when the rulers, the kings set themselves against Him, Acts 4:25-27, Luke 4:18,
JESUS coming to HIS own people, rejected by them Isaiah 53, Matthew 21:37-39,
Revelation 21:7
Hope this helps clarify
John 7:42 Hath not the scripture said, That Christ cometh of the SEED of David ......
Acts 13:22 .....I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after mine on heart, which shall fulfil all my will.
Acts 13:23 Of this man's (David's) SEED hath God according to his promise raised unto Israel a saviour, Jesus:
Romans 1:3 Concerning his son Jesus Christ, which was made of the SEED of David ....
2 Timothy 2:8 Remember that Jesus Christ of the SEED of David....
God Bless You
Titus 1:2, "In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, PROMISED before the world began."
"But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;
Peter also speaks about Paul in 2 Peter 3:15-16.
