Lacking of knowledge is a deliberate thing, because God has revealed Himself to man Ignorance has no defence Acts 14:16-17 ' ' Who in bygone generations allowed all Nations to walk in their own ways. Nevertheless He did not leave Himself without witness in that He did good, gave us rain from heaven and fruitful seasons, filing our hearts with food and gladness ' '. Our maker has to all generations shown Himself to man in a language he understands, lacking of knowledge is not a defense.

I am amazed of what these apostles went through to proclaim the word of God. As dedicated as Paul was persecuting the church, he professed the same zeal worshipping God. God knew his worth and potentials and knew that would live an exemplary life.

Part 1 of 2: Hello Joni G.: There are four types of fasting. One is an assembly called fast. This is where the leader of the church calls for a fast. Joel 1: 14 is an example of this. There is a group fast. This is where a small gathering may come together and fast and pray for various things. Paul and Barnabas give an example Acts 14: 23. Then you have the fast that a wife and husband consent to for either the both of them or one or the other. In other words, you have to get permission to go on a fast from your spouse so that Satan does not tempt you, 1 Corinthians 7: 5. Then there is the private fast. This is where a lot of people fall short. They tell everybody they are fasting. They show a sad continence. They already have their reward. Jesus Christ gave instructions on how to fast, Matthew 6: 16 thru 18.

The kingdom of God is not about eating and drinking but persecution, trails and tribulation, but in the midst of all these we must endure with patient humility knowing whom we have trusted, that he is faithful and true.we must desire to preach the word first and the Lord will grant signs and wonders to be wrought trough you.Mark.16 20.Do not look for miraculous power elsewhere to do the work of God,preach his word, worship and praise him and He will confirm his presence with wonders.Don 't give up in the face of adversity for says "I will not leave you or forsake you

I learn this morning in this study that i should not be proud of myself whenever God uses me and perform his miracles, but it is very unfortunate today that some so called men of God today use to be proud of themselves simply because God is making use of them by manifesting his power in them.

I love the way Paul and Barnabas behaved when the people of Listra came to give sacrifices to them. Thats the way true servants can give glory back to God.

Here are the keys Peter was given: ( Acts 14:27) "they rshearsed all that God had done with them, and how He had OPENED THE DOOR of faith unto the Gentiles.( 1 Cor 16:9) For a great DOOR and effectual is opened unto me, and there are many adversaries. ( 2 Cor 2:12) Furthermore, when I came to Troas to preach Christ's gospel, and a DOOR was opened unto me of the Lord. ( Col 4:3) Withal praying also for us, that God would open unto us a DOOR of utterance, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in bonds. The keys were given to Peter for a chance to preach. Look at the verses. God gives us keys to DOORs or opportunities to preach or tell someone about Christ. We don't need keys to heaven, "we got's the door" ( John 10:7)! Amen.

17...must suffer spiritual sufferings such as ephesians 6 and acts 14:22 to be glorified. these sufferings are not like a car wreck or death in the family...its suffering in the heavenly realms. so basically if you dont suffer this way, you are not going to be glorified with Jesus when He comes back to judge the living and the dead.
  • Calvin on Acts 14 - 11 years ago
In chapter 14, I see the longsuffering of the evangelistic trail. This is not surprising, but to be expected. If God was longsuffering towards us, how much more will that be expected of us? Keep walking the walk.
  • Timothy Wayne George on Acts 14 - 12 years ago
The Lord told the disciples that in the world we would have tribulation, but to be of good cheer for he had overcome the world. When Paul was stoned, it was at this time that he had his vision of being caught up into the third heaven in II Cor. 12
Thank God that we must through many trials, and tribulations enter into that blessed kingdom. The disciples praised God they were counted worthy to suffer for his name, and we should do the same. These light and momentary afflictions are not worthy to be compared with the glory that shall be revealed in us. If we suffer with him we shall also reign with him. So thank God for trials, and give him the glory.

Molly, Please read these BIBLE verse. I pray that they will help and I am praying for you.I pray that these help you to understand the right and wrong way to fasting. The main thing is that fasting never works without prayer as well. The reason for prayer and fasting is to get closer and hear from GOD. Yes, brush your teeth and rinse your mouth. MATTEW 17;16-21. ACTS 13:2-3, ACTS 14: 23, Fasting and praying with others that believe as you do helps a lot. ACTS 27:33-44 Shows how prayer and fasting works for the good. Notice verses 33-35 how Paul had everyone eat for there own health. True fasting want hurt your health. Be responsable like Paul was.

ACTS 14 SHOWS HOW WE MUST ALWAYS GIVE ALL HONOR AND GLORY TO GOD. IT IS ONLY BECAUSE OF HIM THAT WE ARE SUCCESSFUL IN THE THINGS THAT WE HAVE ACCOMPLISHED.
