Did anyone notice v.2? Here's the Biblical record of the very 1st church council. Which proves the church began in Acts 2 and not in Matthew as some denominations say.

My understanding of the scripture,is clearly played out for us. Sadly we still seek the right religion, and we accept the teaching of man's thoughts, not inspired taught to us by the holy spirit , the Bible tells us when we stand before God,and Tell's us depart from me tells us I never knew you, then when it's too late,we will realize what the scripture truly meant,Jesus never taught denomination

Insight777, "Be not carried about with divers and strange doctrines. For it is a good thing that the heart be established with grace;..." God told Noah and his sons, when they came out of the Ark, "...the blood thereof, shall you not eat: and surely your blood of your lives will I require ..." Gen. 9:4-5. This commandment stands still; it has to do with eating blood, and shedding innocent blood.

This James was Jesus' brother who became a leader in the Jerusalem church; Acts 15:18 , Galatians 1:9. The James who was killed (Acts12:2) was John's brother and one of the original 12 disciples.

Acts 15:9 And put no difference between us and them, purifying their hearts BY FAITH. No water baptism added. Amen Peter. Now Peter has the message that agrees with Pauline doctrine. Paul is our apostle for the church age see Rom 11:13, 1 Tim 2:7, 2 Tim 1:11, Rom 15:16, Acts 9:15, 1TIM 1:16. Paul received an abundance of revelations that had been kept secret since the world began (Ro 16:25).

Acts 15:3-7 they passed through Phenice and Samaria, declaring the conversion of the Gentiles: and they caused great joy unto all the brethren. And when there had been much disputing, PETER rose up, and said unto them, Men and brethren, ye know how that a good while ago GOD made choice among us, that the Gentiles by my mouth should hear the word of the gospel and believe. Preach it Peter! Excited!

But we write unto them that they abstain from pollution of idols nowadays time money would be the idol and from fornication while people fornicate now more than ever they don't want to get married and from things strangled and from blood the Lord allows us to eat meat but if it strangled then the blood stays in and blood is life and that must be poured out because God shed his blood for us

That's right, no more ten commandments, but we are under Jesus law now, also look at Colossians 2:14, and acts 15:24, very clear that the law is done with, but by no means are we free to sin.

abstaining from blood. does this mean that blood transfusion is wrong as it gets blood into ones body as does ingestion through the mouth?

For Robert and whosoever...Beloved brother, how can we do anything that the Word of God commands? Some followers of Christ asked this question in John 6:28. What must we do to do the works of God? in the next verse, the Lord answers, 'This is the work of God, that ye believe on Him Whom He hath sent. ' It 's by faith, brother. In Acts 15:8-9, talking about the Jews ' and the Gentiles ' part in the Lord 's salvation, it says in verse 8 that God does this by His Spirit, and in verse 9, purifying their hearts by faith. It 's not by our power or might, because as you 've said, there 's no good in us, it is by His Spirit. How we must purify ourselves is by prayer, because the faith that God gives us causes us to pray. That 's our part. The work of the Cross is indeed a finished work and it 's only by His Blood, but as we believe, we pray and we read the Word, because this is faith in action. It 's constant repentance, turning to Him in faith, calling on Him to help us to pray and read His Word. We are justified by faith, but we are continuously being sanctified by abiding in His Word and prayer, because this is how we walk with Him. We see this in John 13 where Peter tells the Lord that He must not wash his feet, and the Lord says, If I wash thee not, thou hast no part with me. We must experience this ongoing work of sanctification every day. We do this by continuing in His Word and prayer.

Verse 20, Being told to abstain from blood can have multiple meanings. Perhaps the main message is to not sacrifice animals for the remission of sin. Animals can not save you nor represent your sin to God. Abstain from the pollution of blood could mean do not pass on blood bourn disease. Also and perhaps importantly, abstain from blood could mean that it is not one bloodline or race of people that are favored by God because through Jesus ALL bloodlines are accepted to be saved. Abstain from blood can also mean that God does not want war over religion. God does not appoint men to wrath but instead commands that they love one another.

paul know how bad for we all to first change to the law of moses before changing to christ. Peter use himself as example before James came and said, we have to stay alway from 4 items in Acts 15:20, Paul rept it in v29. This is the only law we should keep under grace. John4:24

I see 3 simple commands for non-Jews from the 1st councel of the Christian Church: 1 Abstain from all forms of idolatry anything can be made into a god such as money, self, possessions, etc... , 2 Reject all lustful thinking and attachments, and, 3 Do not consume anything that has blood blood is life .

Sir the Bible says, Known unto God are all His works form the beginning of the world in Acts 15:18. Also, God is sovereign but remember that is not a Bible word. It might be in the modern perversions but not so in God 's word the King James Bible. Man has a free will see Lev 1:4 for an example. God knew the Jews would turn the Kingdom down but that doesn 't deny a legitimate offer. In the same way that He knows that most people are on the broad road and will turn down the offer of salvation but the offer still remains. That is what is happening in Chapter 7. The offer was there and was real and God would have came back had they accepted but it didn 't take Him by surprise. I hope this helps. John Calvin 's teachings can cloud the mind.

vs14-18 James speaking in vs 14 reaffirms Gods decision to take a people for himself from the gentiles .vs15validates this fron the prophets. vs16 AFTER THIS I WILL RETURN AND REBUILD THE TABERNACLE OF DAVID WHICH HAS FALLEN DOWN.!!! This is written 60 ad before the temple was destroyedten years later. this statement I believe refers to third temple rebuilt after the time of Jacobs trouble. vs 17KJV uses the word residue whereas other versions use the word rest of mankind, I think residue is more correct as it would indicate the jewish remnant after the war with antichrist. Really cool to see bible prophecy coming true LOOK UP HE is coming soon

  • Bill on Acts 15:1 - 10 years ago
When you focus on the rules or standards, you end up depending on the standards for victory, instead of Christ. God dependence demands God focus. Therefore, standards focus indicates standards dependence. This monastic styled approach to sanctification may provide an outward show of victory, but it does nothing for true victory which begins in the heart and is expressed in the life. Then when you happen to be away from the monastery walls, because the dependence has been on the standards and not on Christ, you set yourself up for potential failure. Each one must trust and obey the Spirit regarding standards, but the key is in trusting the Spirit, not the standards. The issue here is not standards, because everyone has standards. The issue is practical focus, and therefore, the object of dependence.

Idolatry blood drinking are not too big of problems in Church. Strangled Meats though, they will have to start calling their local meat markets to find out. Fornacation? Some report, lots of Pastors viewing porn, and average church goer hook ups, but I hope is just exaggerated. These are the first 4 basics. Then the next 2 basics are Hear moses read 1 on the Sabbath 2 . 4 2 Most Christians meet on the first day of the week, not the 7th, and moses May be quoted, but may not be regularly read.

By obeying this scripture we can save ourselves from so many various diseases and emotional pain. The end of this scripture is very true because it says that if we do these things it will be well with us. This helps us to enjoy relatively good physical and emotional well being.

The Book of Acts is an eye-opening book , when we truly read what we are reading, asking the Lord for understanding, much is revealed, and much is learned. Praise God for his GRACE! For if it wasn't for Jesus dying for us, how in the world would we ever make it?!!
  • James Ayo on Acts 15:19 - 11 years ago
This is the beginning of official admission of gentiles (My forefathers and yours, if you are not Hebrew)into Christianity according to the will and plans of God. Hence Christians are not supposed to be dragged into practising the law of Moses any longer, unfortunately this still happens, because the VEIL still remains through the reading of -MOSES- the old testaments, though we have been told that Jesus Christ is the end of the law unto salvation for us that believes.

this verse teaches that if you add any thing to the grace of God,it makes void the gift,it nullifies the gift of God, Ephesians 2:8,9 Titus 3:5 John 1:12 Acts 15:11. Shortly before Jesus died he made it very clear the repented thief could do nothing but except the gift of God, he confessed he was a sinner and put his faith in Christ, salvation by Grace plus nothing else.
  • Alicia on Acts 15 - 11 years ago
Verse 15 says a lot about the grace of God. Truly none of us could carry the yoke that is a complete life of fulfilling all of God's laws. That's why God sent His Son Jesus to live the law completly and die blameless so that whosoever calls upon His name will be saved ( Romans 10:13). He raised Him from the dead to show that Christ's fulfillment was pleasing to God the Father. Right now, if you are an unbeliever, the yoke of imperfetion is on your shoulders, but if you call on the name of Jesus Christ for forgiveness, the yoke is transferred to His shoulders. In turn you gain His righteousness. When God sees you, He sees sin that He must punish, but when you have Jesus in your heart, all God sees when He looks at you is His Beloved Son. I pray that if you do not know Jesus Christ, that you may recieve understanding of this great news from God!
