Acts chapter 17 it s talking about these Jews who have turned the world upside down saying that there is another king, one Jesus like today with false pictures of Jesus it troubled the people and the rulers of the city, when they heard these things. And when the Jews of Thessalonica had knowledge that the word of God was preached of Paul at Berea, they came to stirred up the people.

Acts 17 is an amazing Chapter. i love the roggedity of Paul as he was not deter by any opposition to what he believed in. he was very courageous and well convinced about his believe and was able to persuade people into his conviction regardless of what the opposition was. thumbs up.
Rise Again: TO COME BACK TO LIFE: When Jesus Rose from the Dead, He Comfirmed His
Identity as the SON Of the Living God, and His finished work of Salvation. He Rise Again: Death could not keep Him in the Grave. He had power to lay His Life down: and Power to take it up again.
Paul preached to these in his day out of the old testament for that was all they had, the new was being wrote. He preached and taught from passages like Isaiah 53 and Psalms 22 23 concerning the death and resurrection of Christ it was all prophecy when wrote but now Paul can preach it in the past. The prophets wrote that Christ would rise (again) future but now its past tense. Fulfilled prophecy..
Way back then Jesus came to shack up the. Ruling jews back then just he is shacking. The world today telling his people to get ready. For the trumpet to call is people home before. The seven days of judgement
"God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth." Where do you worship? It must be special, for God, "dwelleth not in temples made with hands; neither is worshipped with men's hands..." Acts 17:24b-25a. "Howbeit the most High dwelleth NOT in temples made with hands." Acts 7:48 The 'place' we must worship is, "IN SPIRIT", found in the little community of TRUTH.
Vs 4. "he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God." God is not worshipped in temples made by hands ( Acts 7:48). Nor is he worshipped with men's hands ( Acts 17:24-25). The church is the temple of the Lord, 1 Cor 3:16-17. 1 Cor 6:19, 2 Cor 6:16. Rev 21:3. The place we worship, is nothing to God. For God will be worshipped only in Spirit, and in truth. John 4:24.
The Us and Our is the Godhead, mentioned 3 times in the KJV Bible. Acts 17:29 - Romans 1:20 - Colossians 2:9. John 5:7 The Father, The Word, and the Holy Ghost.
Acts 17:30 And the times of this ignorance God winked at but now commandeth all men every where to repent: They had to change there ways of believing and turn to God's ways by the Word. Change of ways means repent.
"They received the word with all readiness of mind..." READINESS; Gk prothumia; a predisposition, i.e. alacrity (eager willingness or readiness, often manifested by quick, lively action; liveliness or briskness); forwardness of mind, readiness (of mind), ready (willing) mind. This goes with Isaiah 8:20; that, not speaking according to "THIS WORD" is because of no urgency, as if up early to a task.
Isaiah 8:20 - "To the law and to the testimony, if they speak not according to this word; it is because there is no light in them." Acts 17:11 "These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so." Job 23:12; Psalms 56:10; Psalms 119:104,128; Deuteronomy 6:8; 8:2-3; 11:18; etc.
"But the Jews which believed not, moved with envy, took unto them certain lewd fellows of the baser sort, and gathered a company, and set all the city on an uproar, and assaulted.." Doesn't this sound like a certain wicked spirit at work today? It is the heathen spirit of anti-Christ in all those who have set themselves to rebel against God, reject the Lord Jesus Christ, and instead worship Satan.
Acts 17:26 "hath made of one blood all nations" Psalm 33:15 "He fashions their hearts alike; he considers all their works." Matthew 23:8 "But be not ye called Rabbi: for one is your Master, even Christ; and all ye are brethren." Rev. 5:4 "And I wept much, because no man was found worthy to open and to read the book, neither to look thereon." Acts 14:15 "We also are men of like passions with you,"

It's so simple. Our Heavenly Father tells The house of Israel in Amos 5:4 "Seek me and live." Cannot get easier. Ma.6:33 Seek Him first... In ALL we do,it should revolve around Pour God. Our LORD. If so we live in him and He in us Amen.
It is very simple, Jesus called the Jews stiffed necked they were disobedient from day one. Paul is trying his best to teach them the real truth so they won't be lost again. The word of God said, God winked at ignorance. In our world today the same thing thing is happening, the world said show me then I will believe. God said believe and I will show you things you have never seen.
I have a question; v. 2 - Paul reasoned with the Jews 3 Sabbath days; how long a time was 3 Sabbath days? did they come every 7 days back then, like now? I'm just curious as to how long Paul was there.
Jack - Jn. 5:39; Acts 17:11. Tell your cousin you'd rather believeth the Word of God, and remember - God is waiting for your witness of His truth, because He loves you. Just maybe God will move on your cousin to do some reading ..... ?
I never saw this before, the connection between this and 1 Cor.1:1 - Sosthenes. In Acts 17:18 which happened before Cor. 1:1, he was a priest in a Jewish synagogue. I guess, after being beaten - he became a Christian or he was a new Christian trying to reach his fellow Jews before being kicked out ..... ?
Identity as the SON Of the Living God, and His finished work of Salvation. He Rise Again: Death could not keep Him in the Grave. He had power to lay His Life down: and Power to take it up again.
Was there a way the word "again" was used back then that allows it to fit in this sentence?
Thanks,. Mark
