Hello Mr. Robey as you read in Acts it is the acts of the Apostles which was left to us for instructions Jesus spoke in Acts 1:4-8 speaks of the power which is the spirit of God that he wants to place inside of us if we believe and obey he will fill you, now anybody that's honest with themselves will receive Jesus saying, He wants everyone to come to the knowledge of truth but not all obey.

    great
  • Nathan on Psalms 109 - 9 years ago
Psalm 109 does pertain to praying for the punishment of the wicked and is completely Biblical, regardless of your relationship or feelings about/with that wicked person. Peter quotes both Psalm 69 and 109 in Acts 1:20. This prayer clearly places the matter in the hands of our Just and Holy God. When you pray "Thy Kingdom Come" this includes the destruction of the wicked.

I love the fact that they all came together to pray to seek the approval of GOD before they replaced Judas with Matthias, if we would do this kind of praying and really seeking GOD way when it come to our pulpits today and other positions we would really have some really good churchs and more sinners would give their lives to the LORD.

This is in the setting of actions commands and administrative duties I think the apostles received revelation from the Lord as he left this planet Stadium and they obeyed and went to the upper room to receive the baptism in the fire of the Holy Ghost they were just laying foundation to begin their ministry through the Holy Spirit that's it nothing difficult thank you
  • Carol. Carter on Acts 1 - 9 years ago
    Good
  • Irene on Acts 1:1 - 9 years ago
It seems to me that as Christians we love to teach, preach and say, but to do the actions that ministry calls for are not readily being witnessed in the Body of Christ. Our witness sometimes calls for rolling up of sleeves in behalf of others. These actions speak more of the reality of Christ than words
  • HARVEY FARLEY on Acts 1 - 9 years ago

They Holy Ghost is giving to all that believe, He is a person third person in the God-head, He only comes in a ready heart and dwells in a clean temple which is your body. He will not speak of Himself but will testify of Jesus and bring all these to your remembers of Jesus what taught. I will change your language you will speak in other tongues as the spirit give utterance. The apostles were waiting on the promise from God the Father the He had Promise to give to all the believe.
  • Edwin Agbi on Acts 1 - 9 years ago
Jesus walk, talk, eat and do everything with them but His main purpose is to dwell in his followers, which is the holy-ghost he promise them. JESUS is the FATHER,the SON and the HOLY SPIRIT, and this are just tittles but the real Name is THE LORD JESUS CHRIST and beside him there is no other GOD. The name of The Almighty GOD is JESUS CHRIST.

  • MockingBird on Acts 1:8 - 9 years ago
Jesus upholds all things by the word of His power. Tarry in Jerusalem until you be endued with power from on high. God is not going to give Holy Spirit to those who reject Him . Or to any one that will waste His goods !!!!
  • Sheri Kay Nicklaus on Acts 1 - 9 years ago
I read it...not a common thing to do.
  • Goeffrey Babu on Acts 1 - 9 years ago
The holy Ghost was there from the begining of the world, but becouse Jesus was there and He had power over all.The Ghost was there but becouse Jesus was in presence,He had all powers. That is why Jesus commanding the power of the Holy Ghost after His presence. The trinity of God do corperate and they do respect the presence of each other.

The Holy Spirit is as real today as He was in Acts. Jesus commanded us that with the Power of the Holy Spirit to go into the uttermost parts of the Earth teaching that Jesus is the only Way to Heaven and the Power of the Holy Spirit will fill us if we ask.

  • Rev. Tim George on Acts 1:11 - 9 years ago
The men of Galilee are gazing into heaven looking at Jesus as He is caught up into the clouds to be with the Father in glory, and while the disciples are looking the angels said, ye men, the same Jesus shall so descend from heaven in the clouds. The catching away of the saints, will be in the clouds, when Jesus shouts, at the last trumpet blast, the dead in Christ will rise first, then we who are alive and remain, shall be caught up to be with the Lord in the air. This is the secret coming of the Lord, and not the second coming, where He will be riding on the clouds, and all the tribes on earth will see Him. The secret coming, is when only the saints, those in the grave, and those living shall see Him.

Just to correct my comments it should be John 3:16 For God so love the world that he gave his only begotten Son he who believes in him will not be perish but have everlasting life. John 14:16 And i will pray to the Father and he shall give you another comforter that he may abide with you forever Amen and Praised God
  • Lilian on Acts 1 - 9 years ago
Jesus himself is the word of God. Our heavenly manna is the word of God he who ates them will have eternal life and will be saved. Thanks to Jesus for his perfect obedience to the Father in fullfilling the scriptures and bringing the message to us in order for us to be save from the defeated enemy. John 14:16 For God so love the world that he gave his only begotten Son Jesus Christ he who believes in him will not be perish but have eternal life. God is so faithful to his promises that goodness and mercy will always follow us. We are now live because of his forgiveness. There is no other Jehovah Jireh - The Provider, Jehovah Rapha -The Healer, Jehovah Shalon - Our Peace. Thanks be to God and to Jesus for loving us unconditionally. Praised Jesus and thank him for he is worthy to be praised. Jesus loves you. Amen

They cast lot, a sort of taking a gamble and God approve it. Sometimes God give us free choice and then stamp His approval on it.
  • Jacob on Acts 1 - 9 years ago
I want to be filled with doctrine because it comes from the Scripture and the Scriptures are Spirit Jn 6:63 and learning doctrine from those Spirit words will fill a Christian with the Spirit. Doctrine is important to God. Titus 2:1 But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine: 1 Timothy 1:3 As I besought thee to abide still at Ephesus, when I went into Macedonia, that thou mightest charge some that they teach no other doctrine, 1 Timothy 1:10 For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine 1 Timothy 4:16 Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee. 2 Timothy 4:3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound DOCTRINE but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears

In the translators to the reader in the front of most King James Bibles a quote says "I do not admit that which thou bringest in of thine own head or store without Scripture. The quote on 3 9 2015 quotes no Scripture. Jesus is not a little g god, He is the Almighty Rev 1:8. Jesus name water baptism of Acts 2:38 saves on one today. That is before the church age doctrines were revealed to Paul see Eph chapter 3. They were allowed to be added to the Church vs 41 but Acts is a transitional book from the Law to grace. He allowed them in that way because the Kingdom Acts 1:6 was still being offered to Israel until the stoning of Stephen in chapter 7. Notice Acts 2:38 isn 't preached again. Peter himself by Acts 15 realizes the shift from law to grace in verses 9-11.
  • God's Woman- on Exodus 6 - 9 years ago
Upon reading this chapter, it appears that the context is the exodus of the Israelites from Egypt by the hand of Almighty God, through the efforts of Moses and Aaron. God wasn 't trying to convince Moses that His name was "Jehovah ", for He went on to say in the rest of the scriptures that I am the Lord. Throughout the old testament, God was known by "I AM ", and other names. God simply wanted Moses to know that he Aaron would not go to the Israelites Pharaoh in his own strength. The Almighty God doesn 't need any human to defend or to debate His name. He want humans to stop tripping over a name to repent, and to be baptized in the name of the Father God , Son Jesus Christ , and the Holy Ghost Spirit Power of God for the remission of sins Acts 1:8, 2:1-18 .Amen.
  • Allen on Acts 1 - 9 years ago
WE CAN ALL BE FILLED WITH POWER IF WE ARE WILLING TO SUBMIT. MOST PEOPLE WANT TO BE FILLED WITH DOCTRINE AND THEOLOGY WHICH CAN BE TWISTED TO CREATE ANY KIND OF PHILOSOPHY THEY WANT TO TEACH. I FIRMLY BELIEVE IN A LITERAL TRANSLATION NOT A THEOLOGICAL DISCORSE
  • NENE on Acts 1 - 9 years ago
