Adam If water baptism is necessary or required to be spiritually born again , explain Acts 1:5 where it says For John truly baptized with water but meaning in contrast ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.

I'm not advocating don't be baptized in water, but its not a requirement for spiritual baptism,

I wa born again many year ago and was never water baptised.

Very kind and thorough answer, thank you for taking the time.

I am unsure about casting lots, the disciples did this before they received the Holy Spirit and Matthias was never heard from again in the Bible. Some people think that St. Paul was the 12th disciple God wanted and did have and ordain to replace judas but I don't know.

Casting lots was Old Testament before the Holy Spirit was given to in-dwell men. I find it hard to hear the Holy Spirit's voice, I have been trying to do a Holy Hour where you sit in the presence of the Lord and both pray and listen for the Spirit of Jesus to guide into what is needed for your life, the still small voice seems to come if you ask and keep on asking for the Holy Spirit as Jesus instructed.

Jesus said, "What father refuses his child, if you who are imperfect give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Heavenly Father give to those who ask and keep on asking for the Holy Ghost." And the parable of the unjust judge and the widow woman who kept on asking for justice, to pray and not to faint.

Why has the Church brought a tree in the Sanctuary but they don't want Altars in there?

Dear friends in Jesus. Is it not so that Judas have heard the word spoken by Jesus from the beginning of the journey with the Lord?

How is it possible to stand against the Word of God?

Judas have also seen all the work of God what Jesus did. How is it possible to stand against the Lord?

Could it have being any of the disciples who took food from the dish, that the devil get in to? No.

Or is this a huge picture of what money can do to ppl? Do we reely want money then and get stinginess?

I belive we can turn away from that issue, and we can be saved.

    Acts 1:25

That he may take part of this ministry and apostleship, from which Judas by transgression fell, that he might go to his own place.

In my KJV translation is might omitted. So its like this 25) to get part in this ministry the apostolic work that Judas abused, so he could go to his own place.

He was chosen by the Lord, Judas was a Apostle like the others, for sure the King loved him. He had no choice on this question it was predetermined. Someone had to do it unfortunately.

    John 17:12

While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.

So i belive Judas have a place, but if its Judas Jesus talking about here, then he is lost.

    Amen Sister GiGi.

Acts 1:11. Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.

Revelation 22:12. And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.

Revelation 22:20. He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.

    God bless.

Eric, every Walmart in the world has King James Bibles. Priced reasonable. It's the most accurate Bible in my opinion.

This is serious, we need to read the Bible ourselves to be 100% sure with our own eyes.

There were 4 disciples in the New Testament that were eyewitness's to the day of Jesus's Crucifixion and by reading Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, write of those events they individually witnessed; also Mary Magdalene and Mary. The books were written at different times, but events were recorded and canonized by The Church.

After Jesus's resurrection he was seen walking around ALIVE by more than 500 people who testified seeing him.

See, you are a witness too. You know what Jesus has done for you too. It's your testimony. We are disciples too. We have stories to tell also.

What I'm trying to convey, is if you are born again, then Jesus has baptized you with the Holy Spirit. He is the Spirit of Christ and will teach you (every day) what you have been given. We all have to take our own egos off the throne of our hearts, and invite Jesus to sit on it.

I always know when I'm straying some, because just like God said to Adam in the Garden of Eden, "Adam, where are you?" Hiding in the bushes wastes time.

I want to encourage you to search the Bible to always verify what is commented on in this forum, or church, or YouTube preachers; matches up with Scriptures. Not all websites are truth.

Im so blessed to see a new believer in Jesus. This website has a Search Engine (kinda like google ) that searches the entire Bible really fast. The red Link page has lots of links you can explore. People write their testimonies of how they came to believe on Jesus.

    Keep coming back.

Hello Peter Good Morning this is what we know John 20:19 He could Appear instantly. John 20:26+27 You could still touch Him. John 20:5-7 appears to have literally raised out of the clothe he was buried in. Also Acts 1:11 appears he could defy gravity. You tell me I just Know its what we have to look forward too.
  • Jesse - In Reply - 3 years ago
    Peter,

My understanding is that Jesus rose from the grave in a physical body. He also ascended to heaven in a physical body. John's account of the resurrection shows that the tomb was opened and the linen cloth that was wrapped around Jesus' body was still there, but no body. If He rose in Spirit only, the body would still be there.

Also, in Matthew Chapter 28, Jesus makes a personal appearance after He rose from the grave. He had to have been in a physical body because Matthew 28:9 tells us that Mary Magdalene and the other Mary actually grabbed Him by the feet. And then we know from what Jesus says to Thomas in John 20:27 that He had to be in a physical body because Jesus told Thomas to touch him. You can't feel spirit.

But to answer your question about the nature in which He exists right now, whether it be flesh and blood, flesh and bones, or Spirit?

1 Corinthians 15:50 tells us that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God. We see in Luke chapter 24 that they thought Jesus was a spirit. But Jesus says in Luke 24:39, "Touch me and see, for a spirit does not have flesh and bones as you see I have." It is interesting that He doesn't say flesh and blood, but flesh and bones. Could the reason for Him saying that be because He shed all His blood at the cross?

Jesus ascended in bodily form. In Acts 1:11, these two in white apparel said "Ye men of Galilee." Notice that they were called Galileans. I don't know if you are aware of it or not but all of the disciples were Galileans except for Judas. He's the only one that was not a Galilean. He was from the city of Iscariot outside of Galilee. So he's telling them that this same Jesus which is taken up from you into heaven shall so come in like manner as you have seen Him go into heaven.

So if He was seen ascending into heaven in bodily form, and we are told that He will return in the same manner, I would have to believe that He is now at the right hand of the Father in a flesh/bones/glorified body!

Dear all, for some dayes ago ill get a word, from

    Acts 1:25

That he may take part of this ministry and apostleship, from which Judas by transgression fell, that he might go to his own place.

Some years ago ill have a sight of my grandparent's they stood behind each other like i remember them. In a light who is not on this earth. In a place who Jesus have made for them, ill see columns in a tempel and them! After that i was soo grateful too the Lord Jesus who is the only King!

    John 14:2

In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.

It is soo many ppl i know who have gone too they're own places. The places that Jesus have made for them. He may already have done a place ready-made for me as well.

Some other time ill look my stepfather waving energetically too me after one hour when he died. And he belived in Jesus. If he understand the meaning of Christ i dont know. But it is not for me to know.

Am glad if all ppl i meet tell me that they belive in Jesus.

    John 11:26

And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?

Its many more words in Holy Scripture of this. Read and understand inspired by the Holy Spirit ill pray.

If we belive in Jesus We dont die anymore. Here's a big question! Do Jesus have a place for all them who have past away? Noo matter what_ And are all died ppl in one of the heavens who is described in this examles. I'll belive soo, evan Judas Iskariot could go too his place.

It is good to understand this: That God is in charge of this. Soo i belive strongly that we meet again some day. And i will know whom from whom by the spirit they had in life.

God bless us all in Jesus Name by the Holy Spirit. Love u all in Christ

No one can show scripturally in the church epistles written by Paul where getting born again water is a requirement, on the birthday of the church they were baptized about three thousands souls and received holy spirit and it never mentions water there were no swimming pools in the temple. Also acts 1:5 John truly baptized with water but ye shall[ putting in contrast this was before this will be after ] be baptized with holy spirit not many days hence. In Acts Paul was passing through the upper coast he asked certain disciples if they received the holy ghost and they said we were baptised under johns baptism, they never heard of baptism by Jesus Christ then Paul baptised them in the name of Jesus Christ and they received holy spirit into manifestation. They were baptised under the law but never were concerning jesus Christ and grace. Just sharing

When you are studying, it is of necessity to make sure you are assigning the pronouns their correct personage.

Often it helps to write the verse or verses and replace the pronoun with the noun they represent. I have taken chapters and done this, often getting half way through the chapter and find the noun I was using does't fit, having to go back (repent) and correct my understanding of that pronoun. The scriptures CANNOT disagree with themselves. Much of the WORD is hidden in parables and metaphors, often the word being used has different meaning (signifies something else) than what one would defined in a dictionary. The physical mind pictures things that are physical, the Spirit guiding you causes your mind to see the hidden meaning. In the Old Testament God lived in THE CLOUD that covered the tabernacle; was inside the Holy of Hollies. If that being the shadow then the TRUE (that casting the shadow) would now be MAN (the true TEMPLE OF GOD), being COVERED by God; and MAN now being the Holy Of Hollies, were God dwells. Our physical mind pictures heaven as a physical place with huge mansions and gates of pearls and streets of gold, but the hidden meaning cannot be physically seen so the Spirit has to cause you to see. A GLORIFIED BODY does't need a physical house, or streets or gates. Heaven then becomes SIGNIFIED

Acts 1:9 And when HE (CHRIST) had spoken these things, while they (the disciples with him) beheld, he (Christ) was taken up; and a cloud (the new TEMPLE, MAN Colossians 1:27) received him (Christ now in the glorified body as the Holy Spirit) out of their (disciples) sight.

    Acts 1:10 And while they (disciples with him) looked steadfastly into (physical) heaven (the disciple had not yet been given the Holy Spirit to understand Christ ascended INTO MAN) as he went up, behold two men (messengers of God in glorified bodies Hebrews 13:2) stood by them in white apparel;

    Brother Keven:

Acts 1:11 Which (two Angels; glorified messengers) also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing into heaven (they could only see heaven as the blue sky above them)? this same Jesus, which is taken up into heaven (INTO MAN), shall so come in like manner (IN MAN) as ye have seen him go into heaven (INTO MAN).

Revelation 1:7 Behold he (Christ) cometh (at the resurrection of the DEAD) with the CLOUDS (the SAINTS clothed in CHRIST), and every eye shall see him (because there will be millions of Saints that are the IMAGE OF CHRIST), and they also which pierced him (in Christ appearance to Thomas he bore the marks of the cross in his glorified flesh, the word doesn't say; but since we were crucified with him we could also bear the marks of the cross, for all the world to see): and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen.

Revelation 9:16 And the number of the army of the horseman (not literal, but the Saints) were two hundred thousand thousand (not literally that exact number, signified) .....

Revelation 20:7 An when the thousand years (not literal, but signified, the Day of the Lord or the AGE of Grace or the AGE of those CHOSEN to be PRIEST, CHOOSEN to be covered by the blood of the LAMB and DEATH PASSED OVER THEM.) are expired, Satan (terrestrial flesh, those resurrected back to judgement) shall be loosed out of his prison (DEATH AND THE GRAVE).

Matthew 5:25 ....and thou shalt be cast into PRISON (DEATH AND THE GRAVE).

The wages on sin (UNBELIEF, all other sins are COVERED BY THE BLOOD) IS DEATH (and the GRAVE).

Brother Earl may Christ bless us and increase us in His heavenly wisdom.

I have been reading many of your posts over the last 6 months and am in agreement with much of the what you have said as inspired by Him. Funny thing is that I had been meaning to to ask you the same thing that English Sachs said also. I believe 1 John 2:27 similar as God grants us more insight as we mature in Him. When I became a man I put away the childish things. Or more recently as when the day star rises in you.

Anyway, what about Act 1:9-11, I am still still believing that there will be some in flesh that repopulate the earth during His reign. Or in Zechariah where His feet will touch the mount and split the earth.

Also, believe in the resurrection of the just and unjust.

We could also put on in a moment and twinkling of and eye our celestial bodies and still be here like Christ on the road to Emmanus. Very soon the heavens will be rolled back like a scroll!

Mainly just wanted to know what you thought about Acts 1:9-11.

May we all have great patience and love for one another as we move forward and upward in Christ!

May God bless you brother Earl

I'm sorry that I can't take this matter further as I have no better answer to give than what I just shared. I don't see any biological connection to any of mankind - the only connection is the ancestral one only because of Mary bearing this Holy Spirit prepared embryo. Christ had to come this way, rather than mysteriously popping up somewhere, so as to fulfil the prophecies that went before Him & to become a Man for ultimately the suffering of death. It is my belief that this embryo was wholly from God & Mary provided the sustenance for it & to be the means for its presentation.

I can't see anything in the Scriptures showing that David's son, Nathan or his name, will have anything to do with the Lord's Coming. Acts 1:10,11, "And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel; Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven." The Jesus Who was crucified & ascended into Heaven, will return again in like manner still with the nail prints in His Hand. I'm sorry to disappoint - no Nathan or his namesake - only Jesus.

But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all of Judea, and Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

    Acts 1:8

Then cometh he to Simon Peter: and Peter saith unto him, Lord, dost thou wash my feet?

Peter saith unto him, Thou shalt never wash my feet. Jesus answered him, If I wash thee not, thou hast no part in me.

    John 19:34

This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth.

    1 John 5:6

In that day shall the branch of the LORD ne beautiful and glorious, and the fruit of the earth shall be excellent and comely for them that are escaped of Israel.

For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.

    John 3:20

Whose fan is in his hand, and he will thoroughly purge his floor, and gather his wheat into the garner; but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.

    Matthew 3:12

And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.

    Acts 2:3

And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.

    Hebrews 10:22

And he said unto them, Behold, when ye are entered into the city, there shall a man meet you, bearing a pitcher of water; follow him into the house where he entereth in.

And John also was baptizing in Aenon near Salim, because there was much water there: and they came, and were baptized.

    John 3:23

Hello Deloras. Not much is given in the Bible (NT) on that subject. Even though 1 Corinthians 14:35 states that "it is a shame for women to speak in the church", yet we see in Acts 1:14, "These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren."

This was the first instance of the operation of the new Church of Jesus Christ, when all the disciples, Jesus' brothers & the women met in Jerusalem in the Upper Room. They had just witnessed the transfiguration & ascension of their Lord & one can only imagine how their hearts & spirits must have been filled with praise & joy which expressed itself in prayer & praise. Yes, I see that the women also prayed, joining the others present there. Now the Apostle Paul gives another teaching on the covering of heads whilst praying (1 Corinthians chapter 11), but that's another aspect that has caused much division.

RESPONDING TO Victor Anyanwu on Philippians 1 asked...

An unsaved person told me yesterday he was told "there is nothing like rapture" Is it true?

You are replying to a comment by "Victor Anyanwu"

    Hello Victor,

    1 Thessalonians 4:13-17

verse 16: these Dead in Christ shall rise first. for example:

    1. ( John 11:11) Lazarus he died again

    2. ( Acts 7:55,59, 60) Stephen after saying this, he fell asleep in death. (the vision he saw was in heaven)

    3. ( 1 Corinthians 15:6) 500 seen Jesus appear after his death. but some of

    them died.

    4. Some of Jesus apostles died of old age, most died under roman oppression (by the "ad." "c.e." Jews)

(they were put in prison like Paul as you brought out in Philippians 1), some died in captivity.

Verse 17: Those alive or remain will like Jesus will go to heaven.

( Revelation 14:3/ 144,000). notice the first died. if the second is to be caught up together with them.

they will have to die from flesh...to be taken from earth. ( Acts 1:9,10; Revelation 20)

so no... rapture is not a word in the bible. when Jesus was impaled the scripture said

after that his spirit ( Matthew 27:50 invisible/ john 4:24) yielded up. no human can see the spirit.

    ( Jas. 2:26)

    Hopefully this helps

Hello Donna. In Acts chapter 2, we find the Apostle Peter (not Moses) speaking to the people gathered there. You might recall, that it was the Day of Pentecost, i.e. 40 days after Jesus had died & ascended into Heaven. And on that Day, the Holy Spirit was poured out upon Jesus' disciples, so that they were now born again inwardly & empowered outwardly to live victoriously for Jesus & do great works through His Name ( Acts 1:8). And the first evidence of this Spirit indwelling was the Gift of Tongues (ability to speak unlearned languages) & as a sign to those others who came to see & hear this phenomenon that was never heard of before.

This is when the Apostle Peter stood up & spoke to them, that they weren't filled with alcohol speaking gibberish, rather they were filled with God's Spirit & this was the evidence to them. So Peter preaches to them & the verses you enquire of, are a part of that message: that this sign was in fulfilment of the Scriptures & is taking place only because of Jesus, who was put to death by the Jews but God had raised Him from the dead. Verses 32,33: that this very Jesus Whom God had raised from the grave, is now seated at God's right Hand sending forth His Spirit to all who believe in Him.

After hearing this message & by the Spirit's moving, many were convicted in their hearts, repented of their sin, & were baptized in water. About three thousand folk were saved that day. And verses 42-47: these all continued to worship God, fellowshipping with each other, sharing their possessions with those who had need, & remembering Jesus' Death by breaking bread together. This fledgling Church was vibrant at that time, even with the apostles teaching them & the Word of God spreading to different parts by the apostles. Yet sadly, over time, both the Gospel & Truths in God's Word have been hammered & tarnished with devilish beliefs by those who should have remained faithful, but there are still a few believing & preaching the Truth.

Basic Distinctions between Prophecy and the Mystery (C.R. Stam) - continued:

    8) Prophecy mainly concerns nations as such ( Isaiah 2:4; Ezekiel 37:21-22)

Rightly Divided ( 2 Timothy 2:15) From "Things That DIFFER!":

    8) The Mystery Concerns individuals ( Romans 10:12-13; 2 Corinthians 5:14-17)

    9) Prophecy concerns blessings, both material and spiritual, on earth ( Isaiah 2:3-4; Isaiah 11:1-9; etc.)

    RDf

    9) The Mystery Concerns "all spiritual blessings in The Heavenlies" ( Ephesians 1:3; Colossians 3:1-3)

    10) Prophecy concerns Christ's Coming to the earth ( Isaiah 59:20; Zechariah 14:4)

    RDf

    10) The Mystery Explains Christ's absence from the earth ( Ephesians 1:20-24; Colossians 3:1-3)

    11) In prophecy, salvation by Grace through faith alone is not contemplated ( Matthew 28:19-20; Matthew 23:1-3; Luke 7:29-30; Mark 16:16; Acts 2:38; James 2:17)

    RDf

    11) Salvation "By GRACE Through faith" Alone lies at The Very Heart Of The Mystery! ( Romans 3:21-26; Romans 4:5; Ephesians 2:8-9)

    12) The proclamation of the prophetic program committed particularly to the twelve ( Matthew 10:5-7; Acts 1:6-8; Acts 3:19-26)

    RDf

    12) The proclamation of The Mystery program committed particularly to Paul ( Ephesians 3:1-3; Ephesians 3:8-9; Colossians 1:24-27)

    13) The prophetic program revealed through many of God's servants Luke 1:70; 2 Peter 1:21)

    RDf

    13) The Mystery revealed through one man: Paul! ( Galatians 1:1; Galatians 1:11-12; Galatians 2:2; Galatians 2:7; Galatians 2:9; Ephesians 3:2-3)

    14) Old Testament writers frequently did not understand the prophecies made through them ( Daniel 12:8-10; 1 Peter 1:10-12)

    RDf

    14) Paul Both understood And longed that others might understand The Mystery revealed through him ( Ephesians 1:15-23; Ephesians 3:14-21; Colossians 1:9-10; Colossians 2:1-3)

Hi Louis Rivera In regards to Acts 3:19 from context telling them to repent and be converted would lead to the age of Grace that we live in now. That's what my understanding is, the only other reference I see is In Isaiah 28:11+12 eleven is talking about speaking in tongues. 12 To whom he said This is the wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest and this is the refreshing; yet they would not here. Please feel free to give other opinions. In His service
