Eutychus was neither in the window nor out of the window, neither in or out. Just window shopping so to speak. This the way a lot of Christians are today. Not all the way in not all the way out. Just window shopping.

So powerful, healing is in the word of God. I speak the word of God over my health and have seen tremendous changes. Surely, the word works. It is medicine to my body. If you just see what is is happening in this world, people are suffering from sickness and what they do is they affect bones and can not move, but when you meditate on this verse, it says, the Word is marrow to your bones. Marrow is the soft stuff inside the bones and is useful for the production of red blood cells. The Word of God is likened to that marrow, revitalising your mortal body. I love the Word of God. Acts 20:32 says the Word is able to build you up. It can be in your health, finances, family, marriage, whatever. The Word of God really works.

Most people commenting on this verse fail to recognize the most fundamental premise of Biblical study application, and that is to "rightly divide the word of truth " per 2 Timothy 2:15. The Epistle Of James could not, for the most part, doctrinally apply to Christians in this present age of grace, because it implies salvation either by works or validated by them. It actually fits in better applied to believers in The Tribulation, see Revelation 12:17, 14 12 especially since it is addressed to Jewish believers, James 1:1. We find no where in the 13 certain Pauline Epistles, excluding Hebrews to appease those who have certain doubts, Paul The Apostle Of The Gentiles, see Romans 11:13, instructing us to anoint anyone for any reason. But I suppose if we were to grant that we could should anoint the sick, we should first observe a time of self examination, confession of personal faults these would be areas of inclined weaknesses, NOT SINS , and of course fervent effectual prayer. The only prayer that will save a lost Hell-bound sinner, is the one were he she admits their pitiful condition, and by faith receives The Lord Jesus Christ as their own personal Saviour. It has two distinct sides, repentance towards God for what you are and have done, and then faith in The Lord Jesus Christ for who He is and what He has done! See Acts 20:21. God speed.

ROM 2-9...J.G 's, just want to make a correction in something you said in a comment posted 2 4 15, going off Acts 20:7...you said they had communion with unleavened bread, if you put the word bread into the Greek Lexicon it will always come up azumos or unleavened bread, but that 's not the case in this particular scripture it says they come together to "break bread " now if you look this up using the same Greek Lexicon you see klao 2806 something entirely different, they basically just came together to EAT dinner and listen to Paul preach, NOTHING signifying a holiness about the day, a day of rest, a memorial, a Sabbath, the fact is you are a follower of pagan rome, following after the commandments of man, and not the Commandments of GOD, you think you are saved and are filled with the Holy Spirit but you are wrong again, GOD 's Spirit will not dwell in a vessel of disobedience, by rejecting GOD 's 7th day Sabbath you are rejecting GOD Himself, just like the Israelites did in the wilderness, and they perished in their unbelief. AMEN!!

Thanks for this scripture that God gave us the authority to give and be blessful but to the real needy and the weak i will give
  • Joni G on Romans 2 - 9 years ago
Christians everywhere worship Jesus Christ on Sunday, Savior, King, and friend who sits at the right if God the Father. Christians don 't worship the day of Sunday but it seems like you are making Saturday an idol, RNM. The Sabbath was for the Jews, alone. We were made to glorify God not a day. We do need to set aside that day for primarily worship. These days in the world, you see many businesses open on Sunday. Why? For money. Where is their faith? In Mark 2:27, Jesus says the Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath. You are making the sabbath a god. That is wrong. It is cultish. Acts 20:7,When the disciples worshipped on the first day of the week, they had communion with unleavened bread, from the greek word azumos. Not apros, necessary food as you suggest.
  • Joni G on Romans 2 - 9 years ago
Christians in the first century started out worshipping on Sunday. Acts 20:7. Jews practiced the Sabbath. I will follow the example set by the early Christians, not the Jews. Thanks and God bless you RNM. Another important part of worship that no one talks about is instrumental worship. Musical instruments were brought into worship in the 600 's. Many church leaders said it was wrong but it was done anyway. Luther spoke out against it. People did it anyway. I know God wants worshipped in spirit and truth. I feel happy and secure worshipping God on Sunday. The apostles were filled with the Holy Ghost. They would have spoke up in Acts about the 7 the day. They did not because Sunday was the Lord 's Day and The Day to worship.

My understanding on the "he " in the phrase "which he hath purchased with his own blood " referes to our Lord Jesus Christ because according to the Bible, of all the Messenger sent by our God Our Holy Father in Heaven and Whom we owed our lives to earth in order to spread the gospel of salvation teach mandkind that there is only one God and there is only one Mediator between God and Men , it was Jesus Christ Who sacrificed His life for the Church for salvation. Because the Church of God was purchased by Jesus Christ, the same become His Christ Church since, as it is written, He, Christ, purchased it , Jesus Christ become the Head of the Church of God, which become His Church, or Church of Christ. Our loving God love Him Jesus Christ dearly because Jesus Christ was submissive to God, i.e., Jesus Christ obeyed the Laws and Will of God and set aside His self-interest. As it is written, of all men, no sin found to Jesus Christ, an example of an eternal and faithful love to His Creator.Because of the qualities of Jesus Christ, He became the Mediator between men and God because men, being flesh, are weak sinful. Men cannot go directly anymore to our loving God because sin sepaprate men from God. The reason why Jesus Christ Has taught us that we must be righteous and pray to God in Jesus Christ 's name. But we must understand that committing sin is not tolerated because as it is written, the prayer of sinful will not be heard. Let us quote Acts 20:28 and analyse: Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.

Vs 7. The disciples of Christ 's spiritual church met on the first day of the week to break bread. Not the seventh day. Paul was filled with the Holy Ghost and would have instructed everyone to begin meeting on Saturday if that is what God wanted. The church met on the first day of the week. That is why we meet on Sunday today.

Amen Gerandene, it 's so sad. They don 't realize that the kingdom offer is still there until Acts 7. So the gospel of the kingdom is still being preached in Acts 2:38 which is a different gospel Gal 1:8-9 than we preach. Paul is the apostle for the church age Rom 11:13,16:4, 1Tim 2:7. 2Tim 1:1, 2:7. We, like Paul preach the gospel of the grace of God Acts 20:24 and are saved by grace through faith and it is NOT OF WORKS. If you want to obey the gospel Trent Romans 16:16 says, But they have not all OBEYED the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath BELIEVED our report? Not Chatauna. Acts 2:38 is not our gospel, 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 is.

Hello Jesa Edwards It is through the power of the Holy Ghost, which is God 's power, that people are moved. It is through the Word of God that people are moved. It is through the foolishness of preaching, by the power of the Holy Ghost that people are moved, 1 Corinthians 1 21 "For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe ". Words spoken by people are powerful, especially when they have the power of God behind them through his power the Holy Ghost. Even the name of Jesus Christ is power unto salvation, Acts 4 12.
  • Jesa Edwards on Acts 20:19 - 9 years ago
I find this book in the bible to be extremely powerful we cannot be moved by people we must focus on God....

I have quoted something similar to the following before. Part 3 of 3 The reason I referred to 1 Timothy is because he was a young pastor starting out and solicited Paul s advice on how to set up his church. Paul also gave him instructions on the qualifications of a Bishop and Deacon. In the end, it should be the Pastor to make the final decision under the leadership or guidance of the Holy Ghost. He can also talk things over with an anointed panel of already picked Elders is he wants to, but it is the Pastor that makes that choice.
  • Evangelist Chatauna Robinson on Acts 20 - 9 years ago
I was informed that we could quote scripture. Part 2 of 3 1 Timothy 5 17 Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honour, especially they who labour in the word and doctrine . In Hebrews Elders should be full of faith 11 1 2 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by it the elders obtained a good report.

Part 1 of 3 Hello C. J. Phillips The scripture that you referred to in Matthew 1 17 does not have anything to do with being an Elder that I can tell. However, concerning the appointment of Elders, remember the Bible is speaking to the true believers who have followed Acts 2 38 therefore the one appointing the pastor and the one excepting the Elder , both parties should have followed Acts 2 38.
  • C.j.philip on Acts 20:28 - 9 years ago
let me know about appointment of elders in the local assembly is by holy spirit or elected by assembly member as a whole. There is a dispute based Mathew 1 verse 17

Hello Jessiemiel Vallestero I would like to also add to my comment that I hope will come out either today or tomorrow. I do not know this man George Lamsa. I do not know why he changed the Word of God. If he changed it to make a point that Jesus Christ is God manifested in the flesh then alright, but the reality is that he really did not have to change anything. The Bible speaks for itself. I would not change a thing in the King James Version. I really do not like these new versions of the Bible. My motto is if it ain t broke don t fix it. The King James Version is not broken so stop trying to fix it.
  • Evangelist Chatauna Robinson on Acts 20 - 10 years ago
Hello Jessiemiel Vallestero In addition to my other comment, which I hope will come out, Jesus even stated that he came in his Father 's name, John 5 43 I am come in my Father 's name, and ye receive me not if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive ". Once again, it is a mystery, but it is the truth, 1 Timothy 3 16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory .
  • Evangelist Chatauna Robinson on Acts 20 - 10 years ago
Hello Jessiemiel Vallestero First of all you have to understand who Jesus Christ truly is. He is God manifested in the flesh. So when you refer to either Jesus Christ church or God s church you are referring to one in the same. Jesus stated in John 10 30 I and my Father are one There is no three being in which to worship. There is only one being. Ephesians 4 5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism . 1 Timothy 3 16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory . On the day of Pentecost, where the church began, Peter declared that Jesus Christ was both LORD and Christ. The church age started in the Book of Acts.

Hello Orlando Sales Jr. I do not know this person you speak of, but if you are saying that this man states that Jesus was not God manifested in the flesh then he is very wrong. Jesus Christ is God manifested in the flesh. Please read my response that I gave to Jacob. It is in 5 parts. I hope it comes out today or tomorrow.
  • Orlando sales jr. on Acts 20:28 - 10 years ago
Mr.George Lamsa translation is the right one because christ was the one who died on the cross and gave his blood for the forgivenessof our sins.Christ is the head of the Church that 's why he is responsible for it 's salvation.

Hello Judy, I hope my other response isn 't to long that it does not get printed. Also, God will still take his vengeance out on Pastors today if they do not do right by his people. There was a pastor that was having an affair and he would not give up that woman in the church and cleave to his wife. He developed prostate cancer and when the minister was praying for him for God to heal him. God told the minister I will not raise him the pastor that was having an affair , he died. He knew before he died that God would not raise him up. God is merciful, however there is a point in a persons life that God will say enough is enough. There was a woman who left her husband with 10 children who was a Pastor. She went back into the world to do her own thing, fornication and such, she died I think two weeks after she went back into the world. See people do not teach that God, even though He is merciful and grace abounds, he is also a God of vengeance and chastisement. Romans 12 19 and Hebrews 12 5 thru 11. Hebrews 13 8 "Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever ". God does not change, we try to change him to fit our needs, but he does not change nor does his word.

Hello Judy, I do not know if I would use this scripture to be the base of my decision on telling someone to sit down from teaching, choir, ministry, etc. In Ephesians 4 11 12 "And he gave some, apostles and some, prophets and some, evangelist and some, pastors and teachers For the perfecting of the saints for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ " If a person is still living in sin, for example Homosexuality, adultery, fornication having babies out of wedlock then the pastor has the right to sit that person down. How can you edify your congregation when you have sin up before God 's people? You cannot teach someone that homosexuality is wrong if you have a homosexual couple over the choir. This is not of God. A person s who is allowed to continue to sin and hold office is a hindrance to those who are trying to live right, especially a novice or a baby saint coming into the church of God. Read St. Matthew 18 15 thru 17. then verse 18. Then read Romans 16 17 18. I hope this answers your question. Also in the Old Testament God killed a pastor of a church for allowing his sons to sin over and with God 's people 1 Samuel chapters 2, 3, 4. Pastors have the responsibility to not only teach and uplift the congregation, but to correct and reproof through the Word of God. God states he hates sin then the Pastor has the right to let the people know. However, the same goes for the pastor he has to be right with God first. He starts out with obeying Acts 2 38.
  • Judy on Acts 20:28 - 10 years ago
Does Acts 20 28 mean that the pastor can tell the members of the church if they can be in the choir teach ,etc?

Give and it shall be given unto you. That goes for the good and the bad. We reap what we sow. I desire that I would give in accordance to leadership of Holy Spirit. Some people you cannot help because they will not after the try to get up to make a go for themselves. God gave so ought I to give . God gives to me so that I will have an abundance to give to others.
  • Dharam on Acts 20:35 - 10 years ago
The latter part of this scripture has been deceitfully used by some to try to obtain material things from others. However, true believers would look for every opportunity to be a blessing to others. Thank God for this scripture as we seek to help the weak and needy but not fleece those that can help us.
  • Olabode on Acts 20:35 - 10 years ago
God said He loves cheerful givers. if you have something to give to someone, do not say come back tomorrow. But, give as holy spirit directs or instructs you.
  • Stephen Z. Glaydor on Acts 20:35 - 10 years ago
Yes, in our strive through Christ, we will not strive, if we continue to give good things to all good work, people and most especially to brethren in Christ who are not strong spiritually, morally and physically. Thanks, God bless you, Amen Bro. Stephen Z. Glaydor
