The only name that can remit sins is Jesus. Father, Son , and Holy ghost are titles.
Acts 2:38 plainly states we should be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ.
Acts 4:12 says Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
Ephesians 4:5 One Lord, One Faith , One Baptism.

    On Jedidiah's comment on Acts 2:38 2/18/2016:
Before Jesus ascension back to His Father, He gave the disciples/apostles the great commission or commandment: Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you. Matthew 28: 19, 20 (This is first hand information)
  • Bro. Daniel FC on Acts 2 - 8 years ago
I don t think the disciples have willingly disobeyed their Master, but perhaps the records are incomplete. Either way we need to go with the commandment of our Savior. This is why, today, Christians baptize the new believers in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. If you have a problem with what Jesus says, you have a big problem

Oh Lord Jesus, I do repent. I am so sorry for all the mistakes I made in the past for things I said and done that hurt and alienated people, because I was afraid of getting hurt over and over again. I am so sorry, and I try to be a better person every day. I want only to help others and serve you, Jesus.

John 3:3 states that a man must be born again before he can enter the kingdom of heaven. We are without excuses, base on the scripture and the spoken word of God. We must be spiritually born agan. Meaning in Acts 2: 38, we hv to repent and be baptised in the name of Jesus for the remission of our sins, and we shall received the gift of the Holy Spirit. VV.38 and 41: repent and be saved, baptized, and they received the Holy Ghost. No speaking in other languages needed that day. Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your Father which is in heaven. Speaking another language is a sign to unbelievers, not believers.

Brothers and Sisters let's be one of those Three Thousand believers and repent from are sins and turn to Jesus Christ let him become that light in your life Acts 2:37-41. ''Be saved from this corrupt generation.'' Don't add more to this fallen nation of darkness confess yourself to him nobody eles he is are salvation are only salvation in him we will live and truly find that true peace, that you won't find anywhere or in anything in this world. Romans 10:5-17 This flesh and bone and everything we have now is all temporal. Life itself here on earth is temporary so use your God given life wise time is leaving the hour glass. 1 Corinthians 15:50-58 there is hope for them that seek him diligent.

After my initial salvation 21 years ago according to the Word of God Acts 2:38 to bear His cross is to endure to the end. Matthew 10:22 To endure is to live in the Spirit by actively displaying the fruit of the Spirit Matthew 7:20 Galatians 5:22-23 God bless you all.
  • Stephen F. Zielski on Acts 2 - 8 years ago
From the book of Acts to the book of Jude, its all there. Speaking in Tongues is an absolute must for you to manafest because Gods Holy Word says so. The Word of God IS the WILL of God, Amen and Amen indeed. Shalom yedda dim {beloved one}.

THE CHURCH JESUS WAS BORN AT PENTECOST DAY, SET APART ON THE SAME DAY, CAME UP WITH A DIFFERENT SYSTEM OF ERADICATING POVERTY BY SHARING WHAT THEY HAD ACCORDING TO THEIR NEEDS AND NOBODY LACKED THUS COVERING EACH OTHERS NAKEDNESS.

To Nicola on v. 11 - "...... His reward is with Him ( Acts 2:38) and His work before Him (witnessing, after we are saved and have His spirit in us to give us HIS power to witness).
  • Irene123 on Isaiah 62 - 8 years ago
To Nicola on v. 6 - also it's a verse for us to witness of Him, His truth, at every opportunity. And HIS truth is - Acts 2:38.
  • Irene123 on Leviticus 23 - 8 years ago
To Jack on v. 27- If you're Jewish you won't pay any attn. to this, and that IS NOT a slam: ALL the O.T. was a schoolmaster to bring us to Christ in the N.T. Jesus FULFILLED the sacrificial laws of the O.T. The letting of blood was pointing to Jesus blood for the remission of our N.T. sins. It's not by works OF THE LAW that we are saved; it's by faith in Acts 2:38, and hence Matt. 28:19.
  • Sonja on Acts 1 - 8 years ago
there is only 1 God. he is the 1st and the last the beginning and the end. Beside him there is no other. part of getting into heaven is repenting of your sin, being baptized in the NAME of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins and you shall recieve the gift of the Holy Ghost with evidence of speaking in tongues. ( this is not just for certain people it is for everyone) Acts 2:38 - Acts 2:39
  • Irene123 on Genesis 26 - 8 years ago

  • Irene123 on John 16 - 8 years ago
To Bill on John ch. 16 - there's no Jesus admonition in Matt to be born of the water and the spirit or Matt. 28:19 and Acts 2:38? These are in GOD'S Word too.
  • Irene123 on Acts 2 - 8 years ago
What I think of Acts 2 is -- it is THE beginning of Jesus' church and HIS salvation is found in verse 38.
  • Irene123 on 1 Kings 19 - 8 years ago
To Charlotte on 1 Kgs. 19 -- yes, I know Him- Acts 2:38; the Lord bless you for asking
  • Irene123 on Acts 2 - 8 years ago
I know He calls us and He receives us - after we have followed Acts 2:38. There is no, with just our mouths, 'accepting' Him as our personal savior. not when Peter himself, with the keys of knowledge Jesus gave him, was inspired by the Holy Ghost to preach Acts 2:38. How could anyone think that Jesus is such a 'marshmallow after the pre-scourging, then hours of crucifixion he went thru?
  • Geraldine cole on Acts 2 - 8 years ago

  • Irene123 on Genesis 1 - 8 years ago
    To Susan on Gen. 1 -- We are to prove our stance by God's word, so here goes: Jn.1:1; v. 10, v. 12; Matt. 28:19; Acts 2:38; 3:16; 4:10, 12, 17; 8:12, v. 16; 10:43; 17:10-11; 19:5 v. 17; 22:16. I don't 'debate' God's word; I use it to prove itself. A lot of people like to debate; I don't.
  • Irene123 on Romans 8 - 8 years ago
To Olga, Rom. ch. 8 -- Yes, I am ready for His appearing , to take His Bride; I am ready via Acts 2:38.
  • Jacob on Acts 2 - 8 years ago
Acts chapter 2 is a continuation of John the Baptist's baptism see Mk 1:4. That's why they had to be re baptized in Acts 19 because they had his baptism Acts 19:4. Acts transitions from the law to grace. You don't receive the Holy Ghost like that today, you receive the Spirit through faith see Gal 3:14. After the Jews rejected Christ in Acts 7 Paul is saved and God goes to the Gentiles Acts 20:28.
  • Bro Mike on Romans 10 - 8 years ago
Romans chapter 10 is Awesome Paul preaching to the church at Rome which had already obeyed Acts 2:38 telling them to continue to confess Jesus against all the persecution and false doctrine that was coming against the church of that day and they would be saved. God's Word will show you must be born of the water and Spirit John 3:3-5 , Acts 2:4, and 2:38 before we can confess Jesus 1 Cor 12:3
  • Aj on Acts 2 - 8 years ago
    amen
  • Nathan on Acts 2 - 8 years ago
Acts2:38 is the only salvation for our souls. Not confessing he is lord and BAM your saved. That would be false doctrine. Mark my words, "There will be a preacher killing day for the falls doctrine" there is only one God one Baptism One Holy Ghost. And it's reall o God it's reall blessed be your name o Lord. Amen
