comment on Mrs Robinsons Acts 2 remark A clarifying note to what This assembly believes is Qte In 1913 there was a great controversy issue in the Pentecostal Assemblies of the world. It referred to a new issue of water baptism. Until then people were baptized as Jesus said in Matthew 28 19 in the Name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost Some Pentecostal assemblies cut themselves off the main assembly and started baptizing as Acts2 38 says. These people are known as Jesus only believers. Thank you I hope KJV will print this, unless they believe the sme thing as Mrs Robinson

Hello Brother Spell I am Pentecostal Apostolic faith believer. We believe what happened on the day of Pentecost is for everyone under the Dispensation in which we live in now, that is the Grace Age. We strictly believe in the Apostles Doctrine. Ephesians 4 5 "One Lord, one faith, one baptism ". We believe what the Apostles wrote concerning the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. We believe that in order to partake, be covered by his blood and be truly saved, you must be born again through water and spirit. You must follow Acts 2 38. Repentance is symbolic for death, baptism is symbolic for his burial, and being filled with the Holy Ghost, that only God can give himself, is symbolic for Jesus Christ resurrection. You have to have the correct baptism. When a preacher baptizes you in water and says I will indeed now baptize you in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. He did not call a name, because these are titles. No man on this Earth can baptize anybody with the Holy Ghost, no man. So this is a falsehood in which the Preacher states. The preacher must call on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ for the remission of sins. I belong to the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World.

Hello James I do not understand the correlation that you are making between Titus 3 10. Have I spoken something that is not written? The answer is no. Everything I have quoted has come from the word of God. I did not write the Book of Acts. Luke, one of the Apostles, wrote the Book of Acts. He recounted what Peter stated on the day of Pentecost. Peter response to those individuals on the day of Pentecost tells them how to be saved. I quoted exactly from the Bible what Jesus told Nicodemus about being born again. I have experienced Acts 2 38. I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that I am in the truth. I know what I am speaking is the truth, because I have quoted directly from the word of God. I will pray for you as well that if you have not followed Acts 2 38 that you will.

I see why Titus 3 10 is there now. I admit my sin now and confess it to the Lord. I will be praying for you.

Hello Robert The water that is spoken of by Jesus in these scriptures are not talking about the birth water that we are in while being carried in our mother s womb. This water is the baptism that is spoken of in Acts 2 38. In John Chapter 3, Nicodemus already had asked the question, John 3 4 Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter the second time into his mother s womb, and be born? Then Jesus answered Verses 5 thru 8. If you look at verse 6 Jesus made the distinction of what he was talking about, He said that which is born of flesh is flesh and that which is born of spirit is spirit. Flesh and blood will not enter into the kingdom of heaven this is why those who have taken on the name of Jesus Christ will be changed in the moment in the twinkling of an eye.

Part 3 of 3 In reference to 1 Corinthians 14 34 this scripture is not telling anybody not to speak in other tongues as the spirit give them utterance as stated in Acts 2 38. If I can say it like this, the women were being disruptive during the church assembly talking during service so Paul told them that the women should be silent during church service while someone else is speaking. If you read further down 1 Corinthians 14 39 Wherefore, brethren, covet to prophesy, and forbid not to speak with tongues. This is referring to the prophesy of Isaiah 28 11 which leads us right back to Acts 2 38.

Part 2 of 3 In reference to Daniel 9 7 this is thought as prophetical book that goes hand in hand with the book Revelation with a lot of scholars. This scripture is referring to the Jews only. This has nothing to do with Acts 2 38. What does have to do with Acts 2 38 is Isiah 28 11 For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people. When you look at Acts 2 6 thru 11 you will see a word called Proselytes. If I can say it like this, these are people who were not Jewish who were either bought by Jews as slaves or converted into Judaism through faith, Acts 13 42 43. A Proselyte Jew, which was Gentiles, had to be circumcised of the ** just like the Jewish men, Exodus 12 48. Remember person who is not born naturally into the Jewish people are considered Gentiles.

Part 1 of 3 Hello James I was quoting Acts 2 39 when I was speaking of all that are afar off . In reference to 2 Corinthians 11 4, I am referring to the gospel of Jesus Christ. Acts 2 38 that is being stated out of the key Apostles mouth, Peter, he mentions Jesus Christ name in this salvation plan. Then if you go to Acts 4 12 it states Neither is there salvation in any other for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved . If you read Acts 4 10 you will see this is talking about Jesus Christ. So I am preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Also, what was the lady doing speaking in tongues in the assembly in the first place? See 1 Cor 14 34. Let your women keep silence in the chruches The context here is speaking with tongues or languages. Looks like it was a different spirit leading there 2 Cor 11 4.
  • James on Acts 2 - 10 years ago
You freind was filled with a false spirit if it was Acts 2 38. See 2 Cor 11 4. The reference you used for To all that are afar off is a quote from Daniel 9 7. Ephesians wasn 't written yet at this time and Paul wasn 't saved yet. Those afar off and their children are the Jews of the dispersion who are represented at Pentecost by the list given in verses 6 11.

Water in John 3 5 is explained in John 3 6. Water here means physical birth not salvation by baptism. You are born in the flesh and need to be born of the Spirit.
  • Evangelist Chatauna Robisnon on Acts 2 - 10 years ago
Hello Robert In addition to my comment that I sent yesterday I would like to add, you do not receive the Holy Ghost through water, you receive the Holy Ghost through true repentance. The water baptism is symbolic for Jesus Christ burial. The correct water baptism is for the remission of sins which is done in Jesus Christ name. Some people are filled with the Holy Ghost before getting the baptism. Some people, like that young lady I told you about, is filled after the water baptism. In the end, you have to have both in order to be saved.

Hello Robert Recently there was a testimony posted by a young lady who went to a church that practice Acts 2 38 and she got rebaptized and she stated that God filled her with the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in other tongues as the spirit of God give utterance. When you read Acts 2 39 it states that "For the promise is unto you this means the Jews , and to your children this means their children , and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call this means everybody else who is not Jew this promise is for them to if they follow Acts 2 38 . God has not changed, people change, but God remains the same today, yesterday, and forever. You have to be born again through water and spirit.

Amen brother Robert. If people could just get that, they would understand more than most Bible commentaries are teaching today.
  • Robert on Acts 2 - 10 years ago
Nobody today has ever been saved by Acts 2. Nobody today receives the Holy Ghost by being baptized in water. Acts 2 is Jews celebrating a Jewish feast Pentecost, there are no christians anywhere in Act 2. Peter is preaching to Jews that have just killed their Messiah. Acts is a transitional book, that transitions from the gospels to the church age. There are four ways that people are saved in Acts Acts 2 38 jews in water, Acts 8 16 by laying on of hands, Acts 10 44 hearing the word and Acts 16 31 belief in Christ. We are saved like the Ethiopian eunuch. Belief in the Lord Jesus Christ and then are baptized. The Gospel for the Church Age is found in 1 Cor.15 1 4. Dispensed to Paul, Peter finally came to Paul 's teaching of grace, 2 Peter 3 15 16. More people get messed up in Matthew,Acts, and Hebrews more than any other books in the Bible. They are all transitional.

I want to clarify something so that it is understood where I stand on giving. God only requires man to pay tithes and offering. The Bible, from what I have read, does not require you to sell everything you have and give it away. In the case of the Apostles and those with them on the day of Pentecost, they were rejoicing and celebrating their salvation. If I can say it like this they where in church celebrating and sharing what they had with them with those who did not have as much and when the celebration was over they went their separate ways to preach the gospel. Remember a lot of those people who where there on the day of Pentecost some came from a long way so therefore they were not selfish. If someone was hungry I am sure they did not let them starve to death. In the end they shared in their joy of salvation.

I would like to make a correction in my last statement 11 4 14 6 52 pm. I had a typo error the word should be gospel instead of gossip.
  • Evangelist Chatauna Robinson on Acts 2 - 10 years ago
The choice they made to sell all they had and split it throughout the people was a good thing. They continued and praise the Lord. I remember when churches used to have dinners and support people in need. Some are still able to do this, but others are not, because people have lost their jobs and have little to no income. However, when their worship was over they went their separate ways teaching and preaching the gossip. Just think if all of those rich people who call themselves Christians would sell all they have or share what they have equally, like they did back then, there would not be anyone in need. Remember having a choice and being required to do something is different. I do not have anything to really sell and share, however what I do is pay my tithes and offering this is the only thing that God requires man to do. Have you sold everything and split it with others in need?
  • James on Acts 2 - 10 years ago
Sell all you have like they did in Acts chapter 2 then. If one part of acts 2 is good for you then the rest is as well.
  • Evangelist Chatauna Robinson on Acts 2 - 10 years ago
James, I would like to add one more comment to the one that I have already submitted. The Roman church was a church that was professing holiness. All of the Books and epistles that are written by Paul are to saints of God. These people were already saints, Romans 1 7. True saints refer to people who have taken on the name of Jesus Christ. The only way you can take on the name of Jesus Christ is to do what Peter declared on the day of Pentecost.
  • James on Acts 2 - 10 years ago
Part 2. Later after the Kingdom is rejected The Lord begins to go to the Gentiles, see Rom 1vs16 for why. The Gospel is to the Jew first then the Gentile. The apostles take up a collection for those Jews who sold all in early Acts see Romans 15vs 25 and 1 Cor 16vs 1thru3. The Lord got Peter straight on his doctrine and revealed the Gospel of the grace of God to Paul, see Eph chapter 3. Don 't go to hell in Acts chapter 2 when you can go to Heaven in Romans 10.
  • James on Acts 2 - 10 years ago
Part 1 Those of you who get your plan of salvation out of Acts 2, be careful to rightly divide your Bible. The literal Kingdom is still being offered to the Jews until the rejection in Acts 7. Why dont you sell all you have like they did in vs 43 and 44? They were expecting the literal Kingdom to be set up see Acts 1 verse 6.

Jesus spoke with his Apostles 40 day, after he rose from the dead, concerning the kingdom of God.After jesus went back to Heaven,he gave instructions to the Apostles through the Holy Ghost.Peter said,we have preached the gospel unto you, with the Holy Ghost sent down fron Heaven.

Hello Dewey Jones I am very glad to hear that you know that there is one God that operates in three functions. It is a mystery to many but God is one being, 1 Timothy 3 16. In Jesus Christ dwelleth the fullness of the Godhead bodily. Praise be to Jesus Christ who is both our Lord and Savior.
  • Dewey jones on Acts 2 - 10 years ago
Hello Karen, I was about to close my iPad when I saw your post. I thing and believe the Spirit of God, or Holy Spirit, or Holy Ghost are one and the same. Just as the Father, Son, and Ghost are the same God having three different functions. All three are one. The Word and Person of God. We know from the Bible that the Holy Ghost only came on men in the Old Testament like He shoke Sansome but after Jesus resurrection at the day of Pentercost God Spirit began to dwell inside men just as He did Jesus.
  • Evangelist Chatauna Robinson on Acts 2 - 10 years ago
Hello Karen Praise the Lord. Well it is true the Spirit of the Lord God and the Holy Ghost is one in the same spirit. The Holy Ghost is the Spirit of God. Ezekiel 36 27 And I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statues, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them. On the day of Pentecost and forward God did just that. Acts 2 4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. Ephesians 1 13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise. This scripture in Ephesians is talking about the Holy Ghost. Now this next scripture is dealing with the church of God that is already saved, 1 Corinthians 3 16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?
  • Karen on Acts 2 - 10 years ago
Please clarify this for me. I believe strongly in acts 2 38. I can 't get my congregation to see that the holy ghost and holy spirit is different. The holy ghost is god 's spirit that he sent down on the day of Pentecost and the holy spirit is god himself. agree?

I love this Chapter. God loved us so much that he sent his son for life and for death. When you start sharing the love of someone you never seen and know he died and brought back too life and left again to leave us his spirit. Hallaylugha there is no other Love like it. Born to die
  • Evangelist Chatauna Robinson on Acts 2 - 10 years ago
Part 2 of 2 So tell me who was in the beginning? Who made the World? Who did not receive who? Who came in the flesh? The answer to all these questions is Jesus Christ. 1 Timothy 3 16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles believed on in the world, received up into glory . If I can say it like this, the scripture states it is a mystery that this took place, but it still took place. God came in the flesh. Who preached to the Gentiles? Who was received up into glory? The answer is Jesus Christ. AMEN.
