Discuss Amos 5

    Hi again Richard.

Doing an A-Z study on the nature of God is a big task. But worth doing.

The attribute that came to mind first for me is:

    ALMIGHTY

God has infinite power to the infinite degree. Nothing in creation can compare with the greatness of His power.

Gen. 17:1 - God identifies Himself to Abraham as "God Almighty". then He tells Abraham to walk before Him and be perfect.

This was when He appeared to Abraham again when Abraham was 99 years old. Here God renews the covenant with Abraham. Abraham falls on his face before God Almighty while he talks with God. He gives God the reverence He deserves.

    Job 11:7-10 says it well:

"Canst thou by searching find out God? canst thou find out the Almighty unto perfection?

It is as high as heaven; what canst thou do?; deeper than hell; what canst thou know?

The measure thereof is longer than the earth, and broader than the sea.

If He cut off, and shut up, or gather together, then who can hinder Him?"

    Amos 5:14-15 reassures us:

"Seek good, and not evil, that ye may live; and so the LORD, the God of Hosts (Almighty), shall be with you, as ye have spoken.

Hate the evil, and love the good, and establish (right) judgment in the gate: it may be that the LORD God of Hosts, (Almighty) will be gracious unto the remnant of Jacob."

This is wise counsel from Amos. Knowing that God is truly the absolute Almighty One, and that He is absolutely holy, we should have this attitude about good and evil.

I wonder if Adam and Eve came to have this attitude after gaining the knowledge of good and evil?

I guess "Absolute" could be another "A" attribute to explore.

From my research Assarat is in Niger West Africa that is were the biblical TEN TRIBES were taken and they still live there today by the Afara/Efara River ie the River Niger and Benue, called Euphrates by scholars. Another Bible verse that supports that the TEN TRIBES are in West Africa is 2 Kings 17:6;18:11 here the places the were deported were mentioned. Gozan(Gozange) is in Sokoto in Nigeria, Habor(Abor and Agbor) these two places are in Enugu/Delta state in Nigeria, Hala(Alala in Niger) , Medes/media(Maday in Cameroon). Another witness is Amos 5:27 which says Israel(TEN TRIBES) will be carried into Captivity to Damascus. Now Damasak is what the translators changed to Damascus and is located in Yobe and Borno,Nigeria. Zephaniah 3:10 also says the disperse are deyound/across the Rivers(Nile River) of Ethiopia/Cush. Across the Rivers of Ethiopa is in West Africa.

    Thanks for the response Gigi.

    part 1

That's a good point you make,

However, Here's a few issues with that view,

    1) The day of the Lord is mentioned 31 times in the bible, 26 times in the Old Testament and 5 in the New Testament.

To my knowledge nowhere in scripture it mentions any removal of the saints.

    Here's a few.

    Isaiah 2:12; 13:6, 9; Ezekiel 13:5, 30:3; Joel 1:15, 2:1,11,31; 3:14; Amos 5:18,20; Obadiah 15; Zephaniah 1:7,14; Zechariah 14:1; Malachi 4:5) and several times in the New Testament ( Acts 2:20; 1 Corinthians 5:5; 2 Corinthians 1:14; 1 Thessalonians 5:2; 2 Thessalonians 2:2; 2 Peter 3:10). It is also alluded to in other passages ( Revelation 6:15-17; 16:14).

In 2 Peter 3:3-18 we are told the Lord is longsuffering to us-ward, and holding back his wrath not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

Notice something in verses 11 and 12.

Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? ITS A QUESTION!!

    The answer is NO!

    Here's what were looking for;

    Verses 13-16.

Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.

Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.

    And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you;

As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.

See part 2 and the second issue I have with that view.

    Genesis 4:3-24,

Note Genesis 4:4 "._..._respect unto Abel & his offering:"

Genesis 4:5 "But unto Cain & his offering._._."

    Genesis 4:7

It seems to clearly say it was the person, giving it & how. There are other times GOD didn't accept bad attitudes, behavior nor their sacrifices, or offerings. Hosea 8:13, Jeremiah, Amos 5:22, Malachi 1:10,

    Notice Isaiah 58, Proverbs 21:3, Psalms 19:14, Proverbs 21:3,

    Proverbs 18:5,

Isn't it interesting how when Jesus was helping people, healing & teaching, His brothers in the Temple also were likewise ready to kill Jesus making Jesus sacrifice acceptable to GOD & not their own? Mark 12, Hebrews 12,

    Romans 12:1,2, Ephesians 5:1-21, 1Peter 2:5,20,

    Hello Mr. Adam Clark:

Here's what I found to back up Malachi message about the "day of the Lord" (29X) from OT to NT. After these verses there's more interesting words God made me focus on as well. So begin our study ( if anybody willing to read) with these verses but do not forget to read the entire chapter or even before and after the chapter for any connecting relevance:

The Lord's vengeance and the year of recompenses for the controversy of the Zion.

    Isaiah 2:12; 13:6; 13:9; 34:8

    Jeremiah 46:10

    Lamentations 2:22

    Ezekiel 13:5; 30:3

Joel has spoken about the sun darkened and the moon into blood as reiterates in Acts 2:20

    Joel 1:15; 2:1; 2:11; 2:31; 3:14

We pause and pray. It seems the day of the Lord is a great and very terrible day. I pray that ALL will be saved today's Bible study.

    Amos 5:18; 5:20

    Obadiah 1:15

Zephaniah has spoken that there are people may be saved who seek the righteousness of God

    Zephaniah 1:7-8; 1:14; 1:18;2:2-3

    Zechariah 14:1

    1 Corinthians 5:5

    2 Corinthians 1:14

I thank God for Paul that we who are saved will know perfectly when this day would be even if it comes as a thief in the night as mentioned in ( 2 Peter 3:10)

    1 Thessalonians 5:2

That is why I think we who truly believes God and have done God's will more likely not experience this day. So we pray earnestly that ALL may be saved. Happy reading.

Good day, Amos 5:26 identifies the use of a star with a tabernacle. (not accusing, only identifying what is in the Word) It is most peculiar that the star would have 6 points, 6 sides, and 6 triangles. Most peculiar indeed. When you read of the tribes of Israel in Genesis, did you catch what changed in the book of revelation concerning them? Something is different here and it has to do with a serpent. This may seem brash and way off base but consider this:

America loves tradition and a symbol of our strength and a representation of America is the statue of liberty and the Washington monument. Did you know the Washington monument is 55.5 feet wide and 555 feet tall? This is 666 inches wide and 6660 inches tall and also is the same proportionally to the golden statue of Nebuchadnezzar from the book of Daniel? Hidden right in front of us, the devil's vessels are very skilled at deception and causing others to error.

Certainly not all Jewish peoples are of this sort, only a portion. Again this is laid out in Revelation, those who practice kabbalah are those who worship a snake in a tree. This is what Jesus spoke of replacing in John 3:14. The wicked shall do wickedly but the wise shall understand.

    Respectfully

I'm not sure where you're coming from. Solomon's marrying Pharoah's daughter apparently didn't stop God from asking Solomon what He should give him in 1 Kings 3:5. I also noted that when leaders go astray, the people do suffer. That may have been his realization when writing Proverbs 29:2. Moses' leadership was also subverted by those who insisted on carrying their idols from Egypt to the promised land ( Amos 5:25-26). His (Moses) leadership was honorable and none was more humble than he in serving the Lord. But you're right, Solomon became a poor example to the people he had sought God to help govern. People will choose to do what they want in the end, regardless of who's in charge.

Rehoboam's decision to follow the young princes' advice and not the elders could be partly blamed on his father. But the decision was his and dad wasn't around anymore. As for Jeroboam and Solomon trying to kill him, Jeroboam wasn't anointed, but appointed to be King over Israel and he failed miserably in that role. His wickedness was such that he's referenced multiple times in comparison with the other evil kings (which were all) over Israel.

Ultimately, though, Solomon came back to the Lord prior to his death. I'm not sure of the timeline, but the ending in Ecclesiastes is clear..Fear God and keep His commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good or whether it be evil. King Saul didn't have that repentent spirit within him when he sought the witch of Endor or fell on the battlefield against the Philistines.

    Have a good week.

    Brother S Spencer:

    Who is the BEAST?

The next important question is who is I, is it the writer, who wrote the words, or is it Christ who spoke the words.

This study is going to take a while, because it take lots of references from outer scriptures to come to TRUTH.

Revelation 13:1 And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns seven crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy.

Revelation 13:2 And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard .....

Hosea 13:7 Therefore I will be to them as a lion: as a leopard by the way will I observe them.

Jeremiah 5:6 Wherefore a lion out of the forest shall slay them, and a wolf of the evening shall spoil them, and a leopard shall watch over their cities: each one that goeth out thence shall be torn to pieces, because their transgressions are many, and their blackslidings are increased.

Who is the City that the leopard is watching over?

Revelation 3:12 ....and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God ....

Revelation 13:2 .....and his feet as the feet of a bear .......

Hosea 13:8 And I will meet them as a bear that is bereaved of her whelps, and I will rend the caul of their heart, and there will I devour them like a lion: the wild BEAST shall tear them.

Amos 5:19 And if a man did flee from a lion, and a bear meet him, or went into the house, and leaned his hand on the wall and a serpent bite him.

    This BEAST is Christ.

Make your rebuttal, I'm out of characters, and we will try to come to truth of these first one and a half verses, then proceed on.

    Cod Bless YOU!

GOD is judge and no one but GOD knows what's in someone's heart at the moment of death. Some GOD takes from this earth because they are too good for it. Others HE blinds so that their soul will be saved ( Romans 11:8). Today's churches have become a den of thieves. Just because he never enters a church could be a good thing for GOD tells us in the end times not even to seek HIM in Bethel (meaning Gods house) for HE will not be there Amos 5:5; Amos 5:6. God saying don't seek the church but seek him, his houses of worship are not teaching his word; all they do is pass a collection plate to hear motivation speeches not the Word of God, not worth going to those type places. Don't get me wrong there are a very few out there that teach true Christianity and great if you find one that teaches verse by verse, chapter by chapter. But I haven't found but 1. Most today have become cults! And will lead their flock to deception, so I say just because he never entered church means nothing.

To love good is to hate evil.

    Amos 5:15

Hate the evil, and love the good, and establish judgment in the gate: it may be that the Lord God of hosts will be gracious unto the remnant of Joseph.

    Psalm 97:10

Ye that love the Lord, hate evil: he preserveth the souls of his saints; he delivereth them out of the hand of the wicked.

God loves all sinners as they are born into the world, but those sinners who willfully, knowingly, and spitefully reject the witness of the Holy Spirit to their hearts and minds pointing them to Jesus as Savior anger Him for their willful rebellion. Those who spitefully reject the word of God make themselves enemies of God and good, earning for themselves the just hatred and wrath of God.

Beautifully put. I believe some misunderstand, the "Coming of The LORD, Return of The LORD, THE Day of The LORD " as I did also, as dearly loved fellowship of Believers would pray for it. Maybe by Philippians 3:20, eagerly awaiting, & Colossians 4:2, That misinterpreted.

Then one day I read: Amos 5:18-24,

People long for Mercy, Justice, correct judgement that may be the root of the plea, prayer.

However Jesus instruction was pray "Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven " Matthew 6:9-13,

    Daniel 7:27, Psalms 145:13, John 17, note John 17:15-16, Luke 17:20-21,

    Proverbs 21:3, Isaiah 56:1, Psalms 82:3, Isaiah 59:4, (context Isaiah 59), Jeremiah 22:15, * Isaiah 58,

    2Samuel 8:15, 1Kings 10:9, Ezekiel 45:9, Micah 6:8,

We even as 1 person can bring justice, mercy, truth, hope, deliverance, through faith, endurance, prayer, action & being a living example

    Romans 1:17, James 2, Hebrews 11, 2Corinthians 5:7, Mark 11:22-26,

We are called to bring Justice, Judgement, Mercy.

    Ecclesiastes 5:8, Jeremiah 23:5, Matthew 24:3-51, Mark 13:5-37, Matthew 25:31-46, Luke 6,

    Psalms 102:17, * James 5,

    Mishael,

If I'm understanding you right you're wanting us to pray for Earthquakes in California? Because unrighteousness within Newsomes' policies & appointed directors? No. Amos 5:18-20, Jude 1,

Please let's instead pray for Justice within our elections especially California! Justice within the Courts. Orange Co. has years backlogs on Felony cases= no arrests. Pray, Justice within the streets. Protection for our Brothers & Sisters in CHRIST all over California!!!! Protection for their families, their fellowships, places of gathering!! Protection for fellow believers against lawlessness, racial hate crimes especially towards "white 'blanco' ", black & Asian people only because of their Citizenship status, color of hair, eyes, & skin. LORD please help us! Pray for the many Pastors like Greg Laurie, thousands of true outreach ministries all over California. Pray for the over 200,000 US citizens homeless & literally dying on the streets because of bad policies, neglect, injustice & wrongful allocation of housing. Matthew 25:31-46, Pray for Justice within the IRS, & Ca. Tax "authority" that wrongfully go after Christian believers & completely ignore billions or trillions of $ income, businessess, smuggling trades, & working "undocumented" unfairly & biased.

California is like no other, it is a place of love, grace, mercy, acceptance, refuge. What has caused such enormous problems: it's loving open arms of grace, the enemy & evil doers have taken advantage & turned it into lawlessness. Jude 1:4,

Hopefully this is helpful to you're understanding. Pray GOD see & help

Deliver California O' GOD ALMIGHTY from the oppressors, help YOUR children, please O' LORD, in JESUS name we pray. Protect YOUR people like YOU've done so many times for me before. Thank YOU LORD

Part IV God's PRE-TOJT Great GRACE Departure!:

(7a) ...After Judgment, the GRACE assembly Is Then Presented as A Glorious Church, To CHRIST Himself!... ( Ephesians 5:27)

(7b) ...And, Then CHRIST Will Present His Body, holy and unblameable and unreproveable, In His Sight, To His Father, In Heaven, Where we Live Forever And Ever! Amen! ( 1 Thessalonians 3:13; Colossians 1:5, 22; 1 Corinthians 6:3; 2 Corinthians 5:1-2)

Thus, we do "Know the order, and realize our place according to the grand scheme." = Today is GOD's PURE {Gospel Of} GRACE {Light} 'Offered' to all 'INDIVIDUALS,' and WHEN 'it ENDS' With HIS Great GRACE Departure {'Removing' ALL HIS 'ambassadors'}, only THEN Will Fall:

God's {OPPOSITE of GRACE} JUDGMENT In The Time of JACOB's TROUBLE {Tribulation, GREAT tribulation And Wrath in Woe, Dread, Terror, And DARKNESS}, for "ISRAEL And The UNbelieving Nations!"

Thus, question: Precious friend, WHY do you "DESIRE what is NOT our place according to the grand scheme"? ( Amos 5:18)

    ---------------------------------------------------------------

LORD JESUS, thank You so much for Your Precious BLOOD, Gift Of ETERNAL Salvation, And for Your Blessed Hope ofGlorification When You COME To Finally GATHER us HOME! Amen.

    -------------------------------------------

our "place In The Grand Scheme"?:

    ( 2 Timothy 2:15; Romans 16:25; Ephesians 1:3-9; Ephesians 3:9) = Grace/Mystery 'fellowship,' today, Current, "But NOW!" Amen?

Precious friends, Please Be Richly Encouraged, Enlightened, Exhorted, Edified, And "COMFORTED With THESE Words Of God's Truth!" ( 1 Thessalonians 4:18)

Same Subject Different Week on Matthew 24

As you tire, so does the Lord: Amos 5:20-23

20 Shall not the day of the LORD be darkness, and not light? even very dark, and no brightness in it?

21 I hate, I despise your feast days, and I will not smell in your solemn assemblies.

22 Though ye offer me burnt offerings and your meat offerings, I will not accept them: neither will I regard the peace offerings of your fat beasts.

23 Take thou away from me the noise of thy songs; for I will not hear the melody of thy viols.

It's always the same old story, different century.
