Steve, In 1Cor. 11 Ap. Paul is talking about the Lord's Supper. It has deep deep spiritual meaning: when we are partaking of sacred symbols, representing the body and the blood of Jesus. Please, do not confuse it with your lunch or dinner.

Hi Steve, Are you suggesting that who keeps the Ten Commandments but not the Ceremonial Laws is under CURSE? You need to know the difference between the two. 1Jn 3:4 says Sin is the transgression of the Law. If there is no Law there's no SIN, if there's no sin there's no need for GRACE; and consequently, no need of CHRIST and His forgiveness. IF YE LOVE ME, KEEP MY COMMANDMENTS: Jesus ( Jn. 14:15)

Steve, Thanks for your comments! Today, most of man’s diseases are the result of bad diet and lifestyle. You can hardly breathe when you’re sick of TB, cancer, diabetes, etc. So, how can you have peace and joy? How convenient to leave out 1Tim 4:5 FOR IT IS SANCTIFIED BY THE WORD OF GOD AND PRAYER. When did God sanctify the pig and the rat? On the cross? See Is. 66:17 Doesn't God care what I eat?

In vs. 14 and 20 Ap. Paul talks about MAN-MADE rules/ordinances, not the Ten Commandments or any other moral law given to man by GOD. He explains that in vs. 18 and 21 thru 23. To walk in Christ, vs. 6, means to follow Him closely and obey His Laws: not to continue to live in sin. The idea that Christ died so we can trample His Laws under foot, and eat unclean meats, is wrong. See Isa. 65:4, 66:17

Colossians 2:5 For though I be absent in the flesh, yet am I with you in the spirit, joying and beholding your order, and the stedfastness of your faith in Christ. Paul was a joyful man in the Lord. Paul started lots of Gentiles churches, Amen.

Colossians 2:6 "As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him:" One of the most famous sayings of our Lord Jesus Christ which everyone knows as the Golden Rule "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you " should be the first thing we consider, regarding those among whom we live and work every day. And this Golden Rule must be something that really lives and breates and moves inside us. While we want to be truly the blessed poor in spirit, they that mourn, the meek, those that hunger and thirst after righteousness it can only be formed in us by the things that draw out those virtues, like provocations and insults. The same is true if we want to be sincerely the pure in heart, the merciful, and the peacemaker it means encountering people that challenge us regarding that grace. We've often heard about some who get big promotions, and later forget where they came from. If we ever expect to grow up into that supremely great character of virtue and knowledge and self control, of patience and piety and brotherly love and to truly reflect that grace in our hearts by a manner of life worthy of being called by Jesus' name then we have to hold on to that first love, and that first hour's experience through all our days, and as much as it is in our power with everyone we meet.

God has given us the example of his son Jesus Christ and we should follow that example as true Christians.

To Felicia Jesus loves you and God will cleanse your mind and heart to understand his own words. We are already pardoned and our sins are already forgiven by the BLOOD of Jesus. We are now save by his grace Our Prayers must be praising him with thanksgiving and worship him only for he is worthy There is no other God who can love us unconditionally its only Jesus amen

Colossians 2:13 And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses 5 For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. We will still sin, but God will give us a new body.

Verse 7: We need to be stabilized in the faith and firmly rooted. This involves regular study and meditation on the Bible and applying what we learn.

response to "a disciple' I'll continue to let the Word of God do the speaking and those that have ears will hear it as we are earnestly to contend for the faith. JESUS CHRIST IS GOD ALMIGHTY. Colossians 2:9 "For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily." John 8:58 "Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am." He is the great I AM of Exodus 3:14

Many today are substituting God's Word for philosophies and traditions of men as verse 8 shows.
  • Dave BLACKLEY on Colossians 2 - 7 years ago
Verse 16. I shall agree with Bruce in that Paul was not given authority to alter Gods word and in like manner Jesus himself clearly states that he does not either, have that power. We do not dispute The Jesus bore our sins, God Forbid and that his life was sacrificed so that we may be forgiven. However man does not know sin, had it not been for the laws and statutes of God spoken through Moses.

    V. 18, speaking of false religion. Common today. One such has angels on the top of their temples. Golden in color. Who aren't saved by grace, but feign righteousness and godliness in their appearances. Fake humility, fake spirituality, lost. Not holding the Head, who is Jesus Christ. Don't let them defraud, or steal, your life in Christ.

My friends, did you know that Jesus (God) gave Apostle Paul secrets (mysteries ). If we read Romans 11:25, Paul tells us that if we don't believe the mysteries of his , that we are blind. We must understand the mystery that God (Jesus ) gave Paul, Colossians 2:2 . To ignore the writings of Paul with be foolish and ignorance. The mystery was kept a secret until Paul got it, share the Mystery. God

    V. 18 is very simply saying we are not to worship angels, or light candles to graven images, nor pray to a woman statue, but to worship and pray to and give our praises to ONLY God - in Jesus' name. Those who worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth (God is a spirit, not a graven image). Mary was 'just' and ONLY His mother; she followed Acts 2:38 with all the others in Acts ch. 2.
  • Wayne on Colossians 2 - 7 years ago
V.18- We are not to be persuaded or deceived by those who are not following Jesus but spreading another gospel , which is not another gospel. Therefore, if persuaded to leave the gospel of Christ, we lose our reward. Christ is the one who is truth and speaks the truth. He never pushes us away but draws us closer to Him. Trust in the Lord with all your heart!

Fe!icia, we are to worship only Christ Not angels. God is the only mediator. Its only between God

Felicia:You answered your last post by your first post amazing and Mike confirmed it. O foolish Galatians who hath bewitched you--- Galatians 3:1
  • Mike on Colossians 2 - 8 years ago
Worship ONLY Jesus. Outside of Jesus, we are to worship NO One else or anything else - THis includes angels, men, statues, traditions etc. Do not allow satan to TRICK you through blind men teaching/talking about things NOT by scriptures; often time by their pride and arrogant head knowledge. God has rewarded us His Truth(Jesus). Therefore be humble

to Felicia - you sure picked a good verse to ponder on. Just my interpretation - a sincere and humble trust in the teachings put forth by JESUS, and a rejection of any vain embellishments or interpretations put forth by those who would claim insights based in the vanities of false imaginations. You sure picked a good chapter - so much good advice for us all in this one. Hope that helps?

Verse 18 Can someone explain what this means? Please. Thank you.
  • Felicia on Colossians 2 - 8 years ago
    Verse 16
Christ is all we need for salvation. We
don't need to be on a particular diet or observe some kind of a religious exercise. Neither do we have to seek God by means of other religious cults or unbiblical philosophies. Christ alone holds the answers to true meaning of life. Because Christ is Life, He is the unique source of knowledge and power for the Christian life.
  • Wayne on Colossians 2 - 8 years ago
Andrea, read v. 14. The old covenant was ordinances. We are free from the religious rituals of the past. Paul says was contrary to us. Nailed to His cross. We are free by His grace. Jesus says not that which goes into the mouth defiles the man but that which comes out. So we are not to be judged by eating, such as pork, or drinking.

2 corinthians 3.Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart.

Not sure if I understood vs 8 ' let no man judge you for what you eat and drink and the holy days.

Each time I eat pork I felt guilty after.
Should I feel better now that I read this scripture?

  • Shirley fink on Colossians 2 - 8 years ago
The lord says ask and than thank him. The only way to obtain this behavior is to ask and than thank and praise him till you see it manifested in your life. We can do this because christ spirit lives in us and as we thank God he brings what we need for this to be done. God is faithful to the ones that are truly his
