Circular arguments on this topic remind me of an Abbott and Costello "who's on first" skit. In case anyone isn't aware, here are some scriptures describing one God with three components: father, son, and holy spirit. We likely will never 100% comprehend God nor should we expect to, but the fact is the Bible describes God as a triune Godhead, uses plural terms, says the three are "one", and I will trust God's Word over man's word. Christians will keep sharing the truth of the scriptures everytime someone tries to challenge God's word.

    Godhead:

    Hi Corey,

If you sinned voluntarily, or involuntarily regarding your marriage simple pray for forgiveness, and you will be forgiven. If we believe in Jesus, and ask for forgiveness, all of our sins will be forgiven - accept for ONE sin - and that sin is: blaspheme of the Holy Spirit. Here is Jesus telling us exactly this, in scripture below.below

    Mark 3:28-29

"Verily I say unto you, All sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men, and blasphemies wherewith soever they shall blaspheme:" "But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation:"

Again there is much scripture that reinforces forgiveness of ALL sin.

    Colossians 2:13

"And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;"

    1 John 1:9

"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."

Ask for forgiveness, and move on with your life, in a goodly and Godly manner. Stay close to your bible and God.

    God Bless.

    Luke 9:28-36. Mount of Transfiguration

Jesus was talking to Moses and Elijah

Peter and John saw this taking place and were thinking they should build churches; instead of just "being in the moment."

Then Father God tells them, this is my beloved Son__Hear Him!

The Scriptures about the Godhead. Sometimes called "Let Us..." in some passages. These scriptures are evidence of all 3 persons of the Godhead speaking to each other.

    1 John 5:7

    John 10:30

"For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and GODHEAD so that they are without excuse:"

    Genesis 1:1

    The Father purposes

The Word (Jesus) speaks. ( John 1:1)

The Spirit (Holy Spirit) executes the spoken word. Action.

I do not want to offend you, but the word "Trinity". It is a word that the Catholic Church uses. The word used in the Bible approved by most all Churches is Godhead.

The word Triune simply means three.

When Chris returns, if you see him in here ask him about the Council of Churches; history,

I think you'll see what I mean if you look up those scriptures.

IS MAN MORE THAN A BODY

Can you exist without God's breath and God's Spirit?

    The answer is NO.

Job 12:10 In whose hand is the soul of every living thing, and the BREATH OF ALL MANKIND

You are only A VESSEL (made of clay).

The LIFE in that vessel is GOD.

YOU, the vessel, are doing what the LIFE (God) wants THE VESSEL TO DO.

Colossians 2:13 For it is GOD that WORKETH IN YOU (the vessel) both TO WILL and TO DO his good pleasure.

    hello, Man of God

The consistent teaching of the apostles and the church over the centuries is that God is a unity of three Persons in One Being, the

Father Son and Holy Spirit. All three Persons share the same eternal, unchanging, infinite divine nature. All three have always

existed. The first person is the Father of the second Person, the Son. The third person is the Holy Spirit. There are not three

Gods, but One in three persons. The Son is eternally begotten of the Father, having never having a beginning. Neither does the

Holy Spirit have a beginning, but with the Father in this Godhead are eternal, self-existent, and totally divine. This is a mystery

to us, but the Scriptures talks of the Godhead. One God/Three Persons, all equally divine, all equally eternal, all equally infinite,

all equally unchanging, all equally complete, all equally perfect.

    Read John 10:30 Romans 1-20 Colossians 2:9

The word Trinity came through the Catholic religion. Triune means three.

God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit are called THE GODHEAD in scripture; in the approved KING JAMES BIBLE.

There are many, many scriptures showing the Godhead working together; and speaking to each other.

Paul clears it up in ROMANS 1:

    18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who HOLD THE TRUTH in unrighteousness;

19 Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath SHOWED IT unto them.

20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and GODHEAD; so that they are without excuse

21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.

22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,

[The Scriptures about the Godhead. Sometimes called "Let Us..." in some passages. These scriptures are evidence of all 3 persons of the Godhead speaking to each other.]

Praise to our GOD in heaven, The LORD Jesus Christ! By your inclusion of this commentary from the pen of Matthew Henry you have supplied for me a key to the unlocking of the Wisdom of Scripture, which wisdom I could not attain unto, though for 40+ years now, even with pleadings to Him, I have tried by my own devices. God's Wisdom is plain if I will but receive it.

    Dear Brooke.

Go to Matthew 5 and read all chapter. It is Jesus's teaching called The Blessings. Pay attention to verses 21-22, 27-28, 31-32, 33-34, 38-39 etc .Jesus says there " You have heard that it was said by them of old time..." This means it was said to Israeletes by God in the old times (Jesus means Moeses's Law) and Jesus continued "But i say unto you..." . And He changes the Law that was given by God to Moese.. If i was there i would ask Jesus " who are you that you dare change God's Law?" I beleive His answer would be " I am the God who gave that Law and I have the authority to change It" Who else would dare change God's Law but God himself? And you will notice that He changes a lot of commandments. Example given we are not allowed now to swear but people in OT could do that. We are allowed to separate for any reason except for adultery but people in OT could and so on.

Most of the 10 commandments are still valid in NT, actually only the fourth about Sabbath is not valid.

Please read what apostole Paul writes to Colossians 2:16 to christians He asks them not to allow people judge them for not following OT's law including keeping Sabbath. Sabbath is not a christian holiday. Rejecting Sabbath is not a Vatican Doctrine, it was done as long as apostoles were still alive.

It's good to ask those questions so you get the answers you are looking for.

    God Bless You

    Hi Brook.

You said grow spiritual by keeping the law? We can't.

    Galatians 3:2-3.

    Galatians 3:5-7.

    Galatians 3:8-9.

    Galatians 3:10-11.

    Galatians 3:12-14.

    Also read Galatians 4. and

    Galatians 5.

Jesus didn't do away with the Law.

Jesus took on the penalty of the law that brought death.

    Colossians 2:14-17.

In fact it's called the ministry of Death.

Here's a few passages from Paul. at one time he felt the same way you do and set out to kill anyone that followed Jesus.

    2 Corinthians 3:6-11.

Romans 7:10-11. And the commandment, which was ordained to life, I found to be unto death.

For sin, taking occasion by the commandment, deceived me, and by it slew me.

Romans 5:20. Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound:

Philippians 3:2-10. Beware of dogs, beware of evil workers, beware of the concision.

For we are the circumcision, which worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh.

Though I might also have confidence in the flesh. If any other man thinketh that he hath whereof he might trust in the flesh, I more:

    Circumcised the eighth day, of the stock of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, an Hebrew of the Hebrews; as touching the law, a Pharisee;

Concerning zeal, persecuting the church; touching the righteousness which is in the law, blameless.

But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ.

Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ,

And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:

    That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;

    Galatians 5:11-12.

    God bless.

    Lets talk about Sabbath first.

Many things from the OT are not valid now Sacrifices, offerings, commandments, holy days etc have no place in NT. One of them is Sabbath.

See Colossians 2:16. Here apostole Paul says to Colosians that no man can judge them because they didn't follow OT's practises, including (pay attention) Sabbath as some Jewish christians claimed. Paul dismisses this idea.

Christians soon chose the first day of the week for their formal congregation during which they "broke bread" that is take the Body and Blood of Jesus Crist or as some churches name it have Holly Communion, see Acts 20:7,

Also in 1 Corinthians 11:20 Paul talks about Lord's Super, (but the greek text says Lord's Day super "Kyriako deipno") . Lord's Day is how early Christians called Sunday. Early Christians had the Holly Communion during a super just as Jesus did with His Disciples. This practice was abandoned sometime during the 2nd century AD and the Holly Communion was transferred from the church's super to the formal Sunday service.

Also see 1 Corinthians 16:2 Paul says to Christians in Corinth to gather money on Lord's Day.

Also in Revelation 1:10 apostole John talks about Lord's Day

So the formal day for christians at the time that the apostles lived was Sunday,. Sabbath has nothing to do with us now Many other verses that i cannot remember now verify that the Sunday and not Sabbath was the formal day for early christians.

You can find all those things in books about the history of church.

Now as far as commandments are concerned to be honest i have no idea what the Catholic church has done.

    God bless you.

    Hi Sherry,

I believe you are referring to Revelation 1:18 where we find Jesus having the keys of death.

We can look at, then, at Colossians 2:15 -

"15 And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it."

Jesus spoiled all the rulers of darkness; satan and his cohorts are defeated foes; all power and glory belongs

to Christ, Who has gotten us the victory! Amen!

When my son was present, I am Father. When my father was present, I am son. This makes those terms, (Father-Son) titles. Not my name but the title I carry depending on the situation.

The Bible says that Mary, the mother of Jesus was overshadowed by the Holy Ghost. It would be correct to say that The Holy Spirit of God fathered the child Jesus. The first commandment Moses delivered reveals that it is paramount we know that our God is ONE. The OT says quoting THE ALMIGHTY. "I AM THE LORD, BESIDE ME, THEIR IS NO SAVIOUR" Yet the book of John says, In the begining was the Word. And the Word was made flesh. It goes on to say He created the worlds. In Paul's letters to various churches, he writes, speaking of Jesus. "For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily" Colossians 2:9

When we baptize in the name of Jesus as instructed in Acts 2:38, we indeed are using the name of The Father, The Son, The Spirit as commanded by Jesus in Mathew 28:19. Multiple countless Bible entries clearly show the Oneness nature of our Jealous God who refuses to share His Glory. Make sure to follow up with the promise in the book of Acts chapter 2 and receive the PROFOUND baptism by fire. It is essential for everyone who seeks the power to know God on a very personal level.

    A very fundamental lesson

All flesh is appointed to die.

Every soul that sin shall die the 2nd death.

There's a new birth at conversion for those who trust in Christ. This is defined in baptism.

And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: Hebrews 9:27.

There is in scripture what is called the 2nd death. This has been taken care of for those who trust Christ.

    Without Christ you're already dead.

    1 Timothy 5:6.

    Ephesians 2:5.

    Revelation 3:1.

    Colossians 2:13.

    Romans 8:10.

    Mathew 8:22.

    Luke 15:24.

And here's an important one for the brethren.

    1 John 3:14.

John 11:25-26. Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:

AND WHOSOEVER LIVETH AND BELIEVETH IN ME SHALL NEVER DIE. Believest thou this?

One of many verses on the 2nd death.

Revelation 20:13-14. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.

And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.

    Eternal life.

If you truly trust in Christ, you have been baptized into Christ. You already have ETERNAL life. That's the only kind he's giving.

If you haven't truly trusted in Christ you're already dead while you liveth and it shows up in your living and it observed carefully you'll find it in their Doctrine.

    Romans 8:9.

    Romans 10:8-10. But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;

That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

    God bless.

    Hello Edward,

Chris has given a good explanation of the doctrine of the Godhead (Trinity). I wish to add the following:

The Trinitarian nature of God is shown at Jesus' baptism very clearly. the Father spoke in an audible voice heard by others, not just Jesus, The Holy Spirit descended upon Jesus like a dove and rested upon Jesus, the Father claimed that Jesus is His beloved Son.

John chapter 1 speaks of the Word being with God and being God (Speaking of Jesus as the eternal Word) through whom all things were created.

There are many other Scripture references.

The Trinitarian teaching says that there is only one God, who, in his essential nature exists in three distinct Persons, but all share the one essential divine nature.

Some people adhere to a "Oneness" error that states that God is one and He reveals Himself in different modalities to mankind: sometimes as the Father, sometimes as Jesus, and sometimes as the Holy Spirit; but these are not three distinct persons. This historically has been known as Modalism and has been considered heresy across the centuries. If this doctrine was true, then all of God died on the cross. But Jesus cried out to His Father on the cross and God can never cease to exist.

Jesus, as fully God (the Son, the Word) and fully human. He, through his death, was reconciling us to God (the Father).

On the cross the wrath of God (the Father) was poured out on Jesus (God the Son and Son of Man). Jesus did not pour the wrath of God upon Himself, but His Father did.

Even though the word "Trinity" is not in the Bible, the word "Godhead" appears in Romans 1:20 and Colossians 2:9.

At the Last Supper, Jesus prayed to the Father and told the disciples that He would ask the Father to send the Holy Spirit. speaking of these as separate Persons distinct from Himself.

I understand that people have differing ideas about this topic. However, I also know that all doctrines about God being a Trinity or not are not all correct, only one is.

    Hi Virginia,

The Jesuits were not founded until the 1500s, some involve the Jesuits with end-time teaching, with the black Pope, and more, and their past is not filled with a lot of good. The Sabbath is the seventh day, keeping the Sabbath is more than going to a church on that day, Exodus 20:8-11.

Constantine created the earliest Sunday law known to history in 321A.D. The main reason was the conflicts between the Jews and the Christians and since the pagans did their thing on Sunday. Constantine claimed to be Christian, but this law does not read like it.

"On the venerable Day of the Sun let the magistrates and people residing in cities rest, and let all workshops be closed. In the country, however, persons engaged in agriculture may freely and lawfully continue their pursuits: because it often happens that another day is not so suitable for grain sowing or for vine planting: lest by neglecting the proper moment for such operations the bounty of heaven should be lost". Codex Justinianus, lib. 3, tit. 12, 3.

Council of Laodicea -364 AD named Sunday the Lord's Day. One reason was to stop the Sabbath-keeping tendencies in the Eastern Roman Empire. The Council of Laodicea produced sixty rulings, or canons, covering a broad range of topics and punishments.

Many worship on Sunday because the day Jesus resurrected was on the first day of the week and some on Saturday. We are also told not to judge, Colossians 2:16 read all of chapter 2. Every day is a good day to worship in the spirit and truth, John 4:23-24.

Some point to the phrase "four corners of the earth" that appear in the Bible. Isaiah 11:12 Revelation 7:1, and Daniel 4:11 is said the earth would have to be flat to see the tree, and more, but even if people in the past believed the earth was flat, in my opinion, the Bible does not teach that.

    God bless,

    Hey Vanessa,

The word Godhead is in the KJV three times.

Acts 17:29 Forasmuch then as we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Godhead is like unto gold, or silver, or stone, graven by art and man's. Godhead, os theios, meaning godlike, divine, divinity.

We see this same word in 2 Peter 1:3-4 translated divine, referring to an attribute of God, not to God Himself.

Romans 1:20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: Godhead, , theiots meaning divinity, divine nature, theiotes has same meaning as theios.

Colossians 2:8-9 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead. bodily. theotes meaning deity.

My understanding, and I'm sure I am in the minority here; it refers to God's and Jesus's divine characteristics and nature. The word Godhead is used in conversation and discussion, referring to the trinity creed that I do not agree with. The divinity of Jesus the only begotten Son of God cannot be questioned. He is the beginning of creation and through Him all that is, Colossians 1:15-1 but there is many scriptures that does not support this creed.

I could post more but I hope you can use this in your study for your own understanding, not mine. Pray and let the Holy Spirit guide you.

You are wrong because you follow the tradition of men, and not after Christ according to the scriptures of Colossians 2:8

"Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ." you deceive the world because of the tradition of men who are philosophers or theologians who don't follow after Christ. There is no such thing about Christianity, Theology, and Trinity literally found and written in the King James Version Holy Bible Edition 1611 not even as in the scrolls and manuscripts of Hebrew, Greek and Aramaic languages of the Holy Scriptures Book.

    2 Peter 1

16 For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of his majesty.

17 For he received from God the Father honour and glory, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

18 And this voice which came from heaven we heard, when we were with him in the holy mount.

19 We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:

20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.

21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

    Revelation 22:18-19

18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:

19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

I demand you that anyone should not add any unbiblical or unscriptural word which is Christianity, Theology, Trinity, which are truly not the Word of God according to the scriptures as it is not literally found and written in the King James Version Holy Bible Edition 1611. According to the scriptures of Colossians 2:8 "Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ."

    Deuteronomy 4:2

"Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you."

    Deuteronomy 12:32

"What thing soever I command you, observe to do it: thou shalt not add thereto, nor diminish from it."

    Proverbs 30:5

"Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him."

    Proverbs 30:6

"Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar."

    Isaiah 55:8

"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD."

    Isaiah 55:9

"For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts."

Those, who claim to say that they are a theologian that is called philosophy or groups of philosophers because they practice their own theological or philosophical studies at their college or school or university about the scrolls or manuscripts of Hebrew, Greek, and Aramaic languages of the Holy Scriptures Books or King James Version Holy Bible. They claim to be called religious believers as Christians because of Christianity that contradicts God and His infallible and living and written Word that is Hebrews 4:12

"For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart."

    Hello. Gianna

This discussion reminds me of Romans 14:5-6 and Colossians 2:16 which speaks of not judging others as to whether they keep one day as holy or not, or celebrate some feasts or not. So to me, each person is free to celebrate unto the Lord as they are led to do. Celebrating Holy Week and Easter (as Resurrection Day) does not focus on pagan traditions but on our Lor's final week of life on earth, His death, and His glorious resurrection from the dead. At our church on Resurrection Day, the pastor loudly proclaims, "The Lord is Risen!" And the congregation lifts up a shout, "He is risen, !" That always captures my heart to praise Jesus as I affirm this great event. To have everyone in the congregation shout in unison is wonderful. So, I find this as bring done for the Lord, as Romans 14:5-6 says. And with Colossians 2:16 in mind, I do not judge others as to whether they celebrate this day or not.

But, I agree with you in that we do need to learn about the pagan aspects of celebrating Christian holidays and weed out those practices that give honor to anyone but our Lord.

    Revelation 3:18 COMMENTARY

    Wesley's Notes for Revelation 3:18

I counsel thee - who art poor, and blind, and naked. To buy of me - Without money or price. Gold purified in the fire - True, living FAITH, which is purified in the furnace of affliction. And white raiment - True holiness. And eyesalve - Spiritual illumination; the unction of the Holy One, which teacheth all things (the Holy Spirit)

People's Bible Notes for Revelation 3:18

I counsel thee to buy of me gold. In Christ are "all the treasures of wisdom" ( Colossians 2:3). And white raiment. That they may have the wedding garments ( Matthew 22:11-13). Anoint thine eyes with eyesalve. The unction of the Holy Spirit ( 1John 2:20).

Many people have no faith to ask Jesus, themselves, to be healed (physically, emotionally, financially, making decisions, etc). Why?

It's one thing to lay on your mat and stare at Jesus wishing he would heal you. The man explained his parents must've sinned. Jesus had mercy on him. Stand up, pick up your mat and walk home. The man lays there a minute, then obeys. He stands up, dances around leaping for joy-picks up his mat and walks home.

His faith in Jesus's ability, opposed his belief in his parents sins. His faith stood up.

ONLY THE BIBLE can counteract our unbelief and excuses why we are sick or downtrodden by society at large.

Mix faith with obedience to the known Will of God.

Pray the Lords Prayer, and let your ears hear each line. Each one is a YES and AMEN, from God the Father.

Let's be real here? If there's some kind of hidden sin hindering that prayer; dig it up and give it to Jesus. "I did "this" and I'm sorry for it." Jesus's blood erases it. Guard your heart and mind.

The Lords Prayer says, THIS DAY. This is a daily thing. I do it every day. I'm not perfect yet. Some day I may shine a little like gold or silver, that I purchased with prayers. I have His Love and Acceptance now. So do you.

There is no mention of keeping the Sabbath in the NT epistles. On the other hand, there are several passages reminding Christians that God does not intend them to focus on the law in their walk with Him but to focus on Him, and there is a difference.

    Galatians 5:18

But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.

    Romans 6:14

For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.

    Colossians 2:14

    Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;
  • Adam - In Reply - 4 years ago
Hello, I'd like to offer a counter position. That's great that you're convinced that Christians aren't bound to observe the Sabbath, but is God convinced? He deliberately wrote "Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy" as the 4th of the 10 commandments and the Sabbath is Saturday. We should honor God everyday, but the Bible absolutely does say to make Sabbath (Saturday) a holy day. And if someone doesn't think the ten commandments apply, then what else doesn't apply and how do you choose what applies exactly.

6th commandment says do not kill, but I don't hear anyone trying to reverse that command.

Mark 2:27-28 - Sabbath made for man

Mark 3:4 - its ok to do good on the Sabbath

Colossians 2:16 - don't let others judge you

Matthew 5:17 - law not abolished, but fulfilled. (some still interpret this as abolished, although it just said it wasn't.)

These verses seem to clarify the intent of the Sabbath, but I don't see any verses saying to disregard the Sabbath completely and do not remember it or keep it holy. Those who apply the law is fulfilled to it would also need to apply it equally to do not kill and other commands, but I doubt that God thinks its ok to kill. God bless.

    Deuteronomy 28:66

And thy life shall hang in doubt before thee; and thou shalt fear day and night, and shalt have none assurance of thy life:

    Isaiah 32:17

And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.

    Acts 17:31

Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.

    Colossians 2:2

    That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ;

    1 Thessalonians 1:5

For our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Ghost, and in much assurance; as ye know what manner of men we were among you for your sake.

    Hebrews 6:11

And we desire that every one of you do shew the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end:

    Hebrews 10:22

Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.

By consenting to become a born again Christian ( John 3)

    To let go and receive the salvation of Jesus Christ;

To be filled with the Spirit of Jesus, the Holy Spirit.

An exchange is made in Heaven as your name is recorded in the BOOK OF LIFE. Jesus takes your sins (past, present, future) upon Himself. He becomes your Lord; but it takes some Bible reading to discover that.

You have assurance that FAITHFUL IS HE THAT PROMISED. All your sin is washed away with his blood. Isaiah 1:18. (Past, Present, Future)

If we have failures (we all do) then mark in your Bible,

1 John 1:8-10. Pray and confess. Jesus throws it as far as East is to west (infinity).

This is why we sing Blessed Assurance at Church. :)

    Build Christian friendships.

No. There are 67scriptures with the word GOVERNOR in it. Go to the Search Box (out on the red entry page) and type: Roman Governor

[The Holy Spirit is the 3rd person of the Godhead; you'll find that word in the Book of Romans chapter 1:20]

The Scriptures about the Godhead. Sometimes called "Let Us..." in some passages. These scriptures are evidence of all 3 persons of the Godhead speaking to each other.

    Genesis 1:26, 3:22, 11:7

    Isaiah 6:8

    Romans 1:20

    Colossians 2:9

    Acts 17:27-30

    1 John 5:7

Action.

All these Old Testament scriptures, and the Pharisees and Sadducees did not even perceive that Jesus was the Son of God (Son of Man). He did not behave what THEY THOUGHT the son of God should look like and behave. They saw people being healed - but they thought he was possessed. Here's the Godhead scriptures.

The Scriptures about the Godhead. Sometimes called "Let Us..." in some passages. These scriptures are evidence of all 3 persons of the Godhead speaking to each other.

    Genesis 1:26, 3:22, 11:7

    Acts 17:27-30

All working together. Jesus came to show us the Father, as Emmanuel.

    Matthew 1:23

Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God WITH US.

In answer to your question Patsy Nelson, i am studying and am awaiting to be washed in the Blood of the Lamb. I also had the same question to my Pastor and this is the answer he provided from the Lords Word (KJV)

    John 3: 5-7

Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.

    Colossians 2: 12

Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.

My interpretation of this scripture is we are fully immersed in water and have shed our old self and are now new in Christ.

    God Bless
