I don't really know much about calculating times of middle east history but what I know about is that christians should get themselves ready for the soon coming King. The events in the world today, the fallen back of Britain and America from the gospel is a clear evidence of fulfilment of prophecy. Christians seek ye not repose... Watch and pray. Verse 21 the vile one spoken of here is the antichrist and as you see he comes in peace. It is seriously pushing at the King of the North, the European and US Countries, who are now engaged in battle. The short answer to your question is the desolator is the Antichrist himself...standing in the Holy Place claiming to be the true Christ.

Knowing God entails two things,His goodness and severity. You cant know God and disown Him cos it carries grievious circumstances you cant be with Him and in Him without absolute confidence.

This verse is in consonant with 1Peter 2:19, 21. Long Suffering is a fruit of the holy spirit. Apostle Paul burned With the zeal to suffer for the sake of the Gospel. Every christian ought to do same. Faith is a measure of how much you are willing to suffer unjustly in this sinful world. The just God is the only witness. I truly believe, that this refers to the Antichrist being arab, not jews...I believe he is the last "King of the North", Syria. I dont see a Jew coming from Syria, going into Jerusalem and desacrating a Jewish Temple (my opinion), I believe daniel ended with Antiochus IV Epiphanes in Daniel 11:34, and The Antichrist Daniel 11:36-45, as for the Antichrist being a homosexual, I dont know if thats what daniel is trying to convey, it is difficult to interpret...

Verses 42-43 Does this mean Africa will be the first continent to succumb to this king? Or has it already succumbed?

I believe that the US is the nation that is divided toward the 4 winds, and that one of our Presidents will be the King.

This passage is about the Anti-Christ or the king of fierce continents he will not desire women. Either he will be a homosexual or transvestite. He will not regard Jehovah God, and will try to magnify himself above all God’s. He will be an apostate, and he will come to power with flattery. We are very close, but the Holy Spirit is holding him back, until the Bride of Christ is taken out of the world. We don't know where or what nation he will come out of, but in the 70 weeks of Daniel's prophecy we will know. Jesus comes at the end of the 70th week to destroy him, and usher in the Kingdom of God, Revelation 19:11.

I believe God only reveals the present truth to the church who remembers what He taught in the past. The church that is doing the work of God continually, being led by Jesus Christ. Daniel 11 is the word of God telling Daniel what will happen in detail until the second coming of Jesus Christ. We are in those last days and the king of the North and the king of the South are being formed now just as prophesied. I believe we need to keep the candle burning or we will not escape the tribulation, Amos 8:11.

When reading the gospels, one must remember to rightly divide the bible into periods of time, and knowing the group of people the book, chapter and verse(s) are directed to. This chapter as is Matthew 24, and Luke 21 are mostly prophetic for the Jews in the future, after rapture of church age Christians only. Jesus is talking about what the spiritual and earthly conditions will be like just before the 2nd advent. Some of these prophecies have already began and will increase as we get closer to the 2nd advent. The key verse to understand is verse 14, which directly speaking of the anti-Christ that will break the peace covenant ( Daniel 9:27) with the nation of Israel that was signed about 31/2 years earlier. Then the anti-Christ which came in bringing peace ( Daniel 11:24) will begin to slay the Jews by the millions (about 14 millions) more than twice as many as Hitler did. And they are given here a warning to start fleeing Israel to Selah Petra (present day Jordan) south of the dead sea to escape the slaughter that is going on and where God will divinely provide for them until Christ’s return. The great tribulation time will begin in verse 14, which is what you can read about in Revelation 4:1 (rapture of the Christians) to Revelation 19:11-16 (the 2nd advent).

I`ve heard that lie because I grew up with a rapture. My Mother told me the same thing growing up, but instead of listening decided God was right. He said eat and consume the Word of God. Going to Jeremiah in chap.4: 9 This is a rotten bunch in that day and as you read 10 you see that God didn't promise the wicked any peace. They thought they were living high on the hog and had peace but there is no peace without the Prince of Peace. And 11. That dry wind is a destroyer wind of bad spirits. So we read in Mark 13:7 when you here wars and rumours of wars,be ye not troubled. He means it because satan comes in peace to decieve many, "all" the world. The elect will stand. I don't know if Satan is a homosexual or not. He could be as an act of rebellion. I do believe the Antichrist will be a homosexual though. Daniel 11:37 shows he "lacks the desire of women" which we call homosexuality today. Which in my opinion is why we have the HUGE push for making homosexuality "normal." The television (Queer Eye for the Straight Guy), the movies (Brokeback Mountain), music (I Kissed a Girl, by Katy Perry), public education system and children's books (Sally Has 2 Mommies, and the Prince and the Prince), even the p*rn industry (bi movies and lesbian scenes), modern medicine (they were born that way, so it's ok), etc. are all pushing the homosexual movement forward. There are many more examples than these everywhere you turn around. If you yahoo search the phrase "is Jesus gay" you get pages upon pages of people trying to twist Scriptures to prove He was, or just general debate. It has gotten to that point.

Also, leave the churches. The Catholic Church is Mystery Babylon spoken of in Revelation 17. That makes ALL of the denominations her daughters. Flee them all. Don't misunderstand me, the Bible is real, but the "churches" are false. Remember; "many will come in my name, saying I am the Christ. Do not follow them." Yes, they are called Christians. Christians come in His name (Christ) and say He is the Christ. Don't follow them.
