This prophecy consists of things to be fulfilled at the end of time. The Ram was the Media Persian Empire which was overcome by Greece under Alexander the Great. Then Greece was divided into four kingdoms. The king of fierce countenance will be the Antichrist who will sign a 7 year peace treaty with Israel, and after 3 1/2 years, he will break the treaty, and set himself up in the temple, proclaiming to be God, and cause all those on earth to receive the mark of the beast 666. He will be destroyed by the Lord Jesus Christ at His second advent. As we get closer to the time of the end, this prophecy will speak.
In the spiritual realm some thoughts are not ready to be revealed to men and women because of maturity of the spirit. The spirit will reveal it when it is time to speak, and then spiritually mature saints should receive the word; like being on milk and then ready for meat.
I have a hard time understanding the bible. My attention span is very short. I pray everyday that God gives me understanding of the work. Can you help me especially with Daniel 8, please.
The ram which thou sawest having two horns are the kings of Media and Persia. 21 And the rough goat is the king of Grecia: and the great horn that is between his eyes is the first king. Kings being plural can refer to the Nations that support Media and Persia which could be Iran, Russia and Turkey. I believe Israel will not make a first strike against Iran because they would lose the backing of NATO. Syria will be overthrown and the rebels will set up a new Syria: "Our first goal is to get rid of Assad. Then we want a state where the Quran is the only source of law." Peace will be proclaimed in Syria stopping further military action. Shortly after this event, Turkey and Greece will have a battle in Cyprus over land/oil rights and Israel will act in defense of Greece. (Israel= "the great horn that is between his eyes is the first king.") This will be a pivotal move for the Muslims to use to attack Israel. Israel will be attacked from all sides. NATO will come in to defend Greece/Cyprus as Turkey at this point, supported by other Muslim nations, will continue the fight in a second assault. (Greece and Israel win the first attack) I believe it will be Germany, France, Great Britain and the US that gets into the fight to defend Greece. World War 3 erupts in full force. "In the latter time of their kingdom"... I think that means after NATO has to sign a World War 3 Peace Treaty that makes a one world government ruled by Wahhabi law."... by peace shall destroy many" means everyone that refuses to be ruled by Wahhabi law will be destroyed. Some people may think that Turkey will never attack Cyprus because they are a NATO nation but they want possession of Cyprus, actually they want all of Greece. They also have attempted to join Russia and China as a part of the Shanghai Cooperation agreement. Turkey does not want to be ruled by the Muslim Brotherhood. Muslim Brotherhood will rule Syria and Turkey will fear the same thing that happened to Syria will happen to them. I believe Turkey will leave NATO when the war starts and join Iran, Russia and China to fight the USA. Saudi Arabia will wait until after other nations military is destroyed or reduced to a weakened state, then they will step in as a controlling power.
Actually, concerning the 'ereb boqer (evenings, mornings) of verse 14, the Adventists are not in error on this point. It's all in the word order. "Evening and morning" is the Biblical language used for meaning one day. This principle is set forth in the book of Genesis:
"So the evening and the morning were the first day." (1:5)
"So the evening and the morning were the second day." (1:8)
"So the evening and the morning were the third day." (1:13)
And so forth. In the Bible, days begin in the evening. Hence the reason the Lord said "from evening to evening, you shall celebrate your sabbath" ( Leviticus 23:32). The morning, then, would be the second part of the day.
However, with regards to sacrifices, this order is reversed. Instead of evening and morning, the language use for offerings is morning and evening. This is made plain in the following examples:
Exodus 29:39
One lamb you shall offer in the morning, and the other lamb you shall offer at twilight ['ereb].
Numbers 28:4
The one lamb you shall offer in the morning, the other lamb you shall offer in the evening.
2 Kings 16:15
On the great new altar burn the morning burnt offering, the evening grain offering...
1 Chronicles 16:40
to offer burnt offerings to the Lord on the altar of burnt offering regularly morning and evening...
2 Chronicles 2:4
...for the burnt offerings morning and evening, on the Sabbaths, on the New Moons, and on the set feasts of the LORD our God...
2 Chronicles 13:11
And they burn to the LORD every morning and every evening burnt sacrifices and sweet incense...
Thus the phrase "morning" and "evening" became the staple for signifying sacrificial offerings all throughout Scripture. As Siegfried Schwantes points out, this expression perpetuated into the post-Old Testament when the Apocrypha came about. 1 Esdras 5:50 says, "and they offered sacrifices according to the time, and burnt offerings to the Lord both morning and evening."
Now, if the text in Daniel 8:14 had stated 2300 mornings and evenings, then a case could be made that the passage was, indeed, talking about sacrifices (though, I think, it would still seem that each morning and evening would stand for a day). However, the text doesn't use that order. Rather, it says "evenings and mornings" which, as indicated above, is the language used for a day. So, the KJV rendering of 'ereb boqer as meaning "days" may be a bit interpretive, but it is by no means inaccurate. The translators knew what they were doing in this case. So, understanding that the expression means 2300 days and applying the year-day principle to this text (which had also been done from time to time prior to the Millerite movement), the doctrine that this is a 2300 year prophecy stands upon firm ground.
In Verse 13 of Daniel 8, two heavenly being was shown to Daniel in Susa, one ask the other and the other answered him who ask not to Daniel. The 2300 evening and morning (ereb boqer) not days. It was confirmed in Verse 26 of Daniel. This is a vision of evenings and mornings, the daily sacrifices they offer not number of days. This leads to the disappointment of the Millerite Movements and was carried by the Seventh Day Adventist. King James Bible has a lots of error and it is not good because many people are using it without studying the original Hebrew words that lead them to commit error. It is obvious that two heavenly being having a conversation, one ask to the other and why the other answered to Daniel? This very elementary error.
