Thank you for sharing your thoughts GiGi as you progress on the Attributes of God using the alphabet - very interesting & edifying as also the great submissions from Richard. As I read yours, and you quoted Deuteronomy 4:7, my thoughts went to the very Name of God in respect to this.
The Israelites were indeed reminded that the LORD God was always near to them - with them; and yet they should have known (or, maybe it wasn't revealed to them at that stage), that this God is also known by His compound Name, YHWH-Shammah: "The LORD Who is Present". And this we see in Ezekiel 48:35, the very last statement in the very last verse of Ezekiel's prophecy (which is generally understood to refer to Israel's existence in the Millennial Kingdom; Ezekiel chapters 40 to 48).
In that verse, the Hebrew reads, "wasem ha-ir mi-yowm Yahweh sammah" ('and the name of the city from (that) day (shall be) YAHWEH (is) THERE'). Israel of old knew that God was with them by all His marvelous Works yet they still resorted to the flesh & idolatry. But the day will come when they will truly know Him as Yahweh Shammah, the LORD Who is present, with them, very near to them, for Christ Jesus their Messiah will be the Lord Whom they will know & Who will rule over them (also speaks of Christ's indivisible Deity). And what we, as those who have now received Christ's Spirit in our hearts, know Him in a personal way & a powerful Presence in our lives, still remain to them as a distant hope & a vain search, all the while clouded in disbelief, darkness, & rejection of their Messiah's first coming. Thank you for reminding us that the LORD has never left us - He has constantly been involved in all our affairs, even though at times in our personal & global existence, He might appear absent. But unto 'us who believe, He is precious' & we ought to live in such a manner befitting His Name, 'the LORD Who is Present with(in) us'.
Chris has given you the verse in Revelation. There is also a verse in Deuteronomy 4:2 that speaks similarly about adding to the words the Lord has given through Moses or to take away or diminish them.
8) Although God commands them against idolatry, He tells them that they will indeed turn from Him to idols, corrupting themselves before God, doing the very evil He tells them to avoid. He will remove them from the land, as He promised to do to them at Horeb if they departed from the covenant relationship with Him. He will scatter them among the nations (which happened in the exile to Babylon and Assyria, and in 70 A.D.) and their numbers will be greatly decreased. (25-28)
9) He promises to receive them back to Himself if they repent and seek Him with all of their hearts (29-31). He will do the same to us when we backslid and repent.
Verses 40-49 seem to belong to the next section (ch. 5)
We, too, are in a covenant with God, the New Covenant sealed by the blood of Jesus, Son of the Father, who sealed it for us without our input. It is totally God's doing, just as with the covenant made with Abraham. Abraham slept, and the Godhead sealed the covenant without Abraham being awake to participate in the sealing. He was given the promise, but God did the work of the covenant. So, too, with us, the covenant that saves us is a gift to us from God, not earned by us by our obedience, but like Abraham, our obedience results from being given the gift of faith by the Holy Spirit. It is a better covenant than that of the one made at Sinai. It was made at Mt. Calvary at Golgotha, when Jesus was crucified and died for us.
The only perplexing part of this chapter to me is that of image making. I certainly understand that we are not to create or have any object that would represent God, nor make any idol. But the language seems to say that we are not to make images of anything. Does this rule out art, such as paintings sculptures, drawings, carvings in stone for the sake of beauty? The tabernacle curtains had cherubim on them and the ark of the covenant had angels forged to overlook the mercy seat. These were commanded by God. There were other images. ?
1) God says in verse 39 that He alone is God and that there is no other true God. He establishes this as a fact to the people of Israel. He reminds them of the price paid by those who sinned by serving the god of the Moabites-Ba'al Peor with the Midianite women. They all died and only those who did not worship this false god survived to that day.
2) God reminds them of all the ways He has delivered the nation: from Egypt, in battle, in the wilderness. He expects the nation to remember these things and teach their children these things.
3) God warns them about departing from Him to worship false idols, for they are not truly god, nor able to help the Israelites.
4) God reminds the nation that he is merciful and good, will not forsake them, and will keep His covenant with their forefathers. (vs. 31)
5) He tells them to keep the covenant made at Mt. Horeb according to the commandments He gave them engraved by Him on stone tablets. (vs. 13)
6) He commands not to add to the words of the covenant and His commandments nor to take any words away. (vs.2) We are to keep His words separate from the words of mere human thoughts.
7) He recalls to the people how He had met with them on Mt. Horeb Sinai) and had given them the covenant and Law that they were to adhere to and not turn from. They are wisdom and understanding for the Israelites. (5-6. 10)
8) He tells them how they have been set apart in a special way from all the nations of the world, with God so near, because he is everywhere present (vs.7-8) The wisdom and understanding of the covenant and Law will be noticed by the other nations if Israel lives them out. In
8) He reminds them how He appeared to them on Mt. Horeb in fire and spoke out of the fire, but they did not see any form of Him. (vs. 12) Therefore, they are not to try to make any image to represent Him. (15-19) He wanted the Israelites to worship Him, not any image. It is a spiritual worship, as Jesus. ( Jn. 4:24)
The 7-year time period mentioned throughout scripture, but described in detail in the books of Daniel and Revelation, is also known as
The great tribulation ( Matthew 24:21)
The Day of the Lord ( Isaiah 2:12; 13:6-9; Joel 1:15; 2:1-31; 3:14; 1 Thessalonians 5:2)
Trouble or tribulation ( Deuteronomy 4:30)
The time of Jacob's troubles ( Jeremiah 30:7)
Toward the end of Daniel's life, he has a vision described in Daniel 12.
"At that time Michael shall stand up, the great prince who stands watch over the sons of your people; and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation, even to that time. And at that time your people shall be delivered, every one who is found written in the book. And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, some to shame and everlasting contempt. Those who are wise shall shine like the brightness of the firmament, and those who turn many to righteousness like the stars forever and ever."- Daniel 12:1-3
From this passage, we know that
Unprecedented, troubling times are on the way.
There will be some who will awake to "everlasting life."
There will be some who will awake to "shame and everlasting contempt."
Those who are wise will shine.
A further study of this passage and the 7-year tribulation reveals more about the troubling times and who will awake to everlasting life and who will awake to everlasting contempt.
Everlasting life is given by those who trust in Jesus for their salvation.
Everlasting contempt is given to those who do not trust Jesus.
Tribulation: Purposes of the Seal Judgments as related to Israel's history.
The sword; famine and pestilence seen in judgments 2-4 in Revelation 6 fit in with a pattern set by God to judge Israel since most of their history was in a rebellious state despite being called to be an example to the nations ( Isaiah 49:6) and set apart ( Jeremiah 2:2-3). The pattern of sword; famine and pestilence can therefore be seen in Jeremiah 14:11-12 as well as other passages in the same book; and it found in Ezekiel 14:21; Deuteronomy 32:24; and other passages. Interestingly enough; Deuteronomy 4:30 mentions tribulation AND the last days; opening the door for repentance on man's part for God to turn back on some of these judgments (perhaps for individuals sealed by God or physically protected at that time and/or during the Trumpet judgments).
Therefore; this time before the Book is opened there appears to be room for repentance; although nothing said for the unregenerate where one quarter die at that time ( Rev. 6:8). It would appear since Hades is in Revelation 6:8 that everyone killed in this manner were unregenerate. The only question is if these are concentrated in a quarter of the earth or it involves one fouth of the world in general. We should also be soberly reminded here that many will not even physically survive to the point when the Beast is empowered and implements the mark ( Rev. 11:7) apparently after the martyrdom of the 2 Prophets and subsequent Resurrection at the 6th Trumpet ( Rev. 11:14).
The Antichrist at this time will rise to power ( Revelation 6:1-2) and begin to subdue and conquer nations. Daniel 8:9 shows how this "little horn" gains power; no doubt through superior intellect and intrigue ( Daniel 11:21). Nations no doubt are pitted so that they will through internal strife be conformed to the 10 nations ruled under the Beast after their sovereignty is destroyed.
I will delve into the fifth and sixth seal in my next sequel.
Father, Son, and Holy Spirt are three titles for one God. Just like my dad, my dad is a father, son, and brother, but, he is one person. It the same way with God.
It would appear from Revelation 14:14 that the 144,000 standing on the heavenly Mt. Zion are indeed translated. There is no mention as with the multitude of being martyred.
Technically; there is no proof that the 144,000 aren't scattered throughout the earth rather than just in Israel. There would certainly seem to be a connection between them and the 2 prophets as they will be able to control the plagues of weather on the earth which would of course affect whatever region or area the 144,000 are ministering in.
One thing I neglected in the last posting is the fact that there is no mention of the 144,000 evangelizing to the multitude. If they do that sort of ministry; it is clear that their preservation from the plagues of God will make them stand out; as well as their exemplary character during the time of unrestrained sin. (see Revelation 7). The type of plagues and timing must be close with them and the 2 Prophets; some overlap may be present between the first and second half of the Tribulation where their ministry occurs. Sequentially; it appears they start before the Trumpet judgments and exit at the time of the sixth trumpet around when the prophets die and are resurrected (see Revelation 11:13-14).
The warnings in Matthew 24 about persecution; martyrdom; wars; etc. have a preliminary fulfillment at least for the Apostles ending around AD 70. It would seem the same pattern fits in with today and those final witnesses in Israel. Deuteronomy 4:30-31 seems to show how God will respond in the last days during the Tribulation; again only for those Israelites who truly repent. Many will no doubt follow Antichrist to their own demise.
Do you believe this is a metaphor or do you actually believe you were physically crucified with Christ around 2,000 years ago.
John 15:5 says Jesus is the vine and "ye are the branches." Do you believe you are actually just a branch? And do you believe Jesus is literally a vine and nothing else?
If those are the metaphors they obviously are, why do you assume ye are gods is not a metaphor in Psalms 82:6? Isn't that cherry picking something to suit your chosen narrative? In the same sentence it also says ye are children, so if this was honestly applied you would then be a literal child? Otherwise its just cherry picking the gods metaphor which could be considered intellectually dishonest. Are Gods children? Do you really believe there's more than one God, despite what so many other scriptures say?
Even the same author of Psalms only 4 chapters later says there's only one God in Psalm 86:10 "thou art God alone". Do you believe this verse just as much the other one you like? How about all the other verses that clearly say there's only one God like 1 Corinthians 8:6, 2 Samuel 7:22, Deuteronomy 4:39, 1 Chronicles 17:20. Why would someone ignore all these but only focus on believing a metaphor in half of one verse is not one instead?
Shouldn't we be using discernment and reading the Bible with an open heart to what God is teaching us rather than the other way around? Just like kings and rulers are called lords (lowercase to show context), gods does not mean God. Anyone who cherry picks and claims they are a god is really deceived and this comes from satan. Satan loves deceiving people in this way and it has his signature all over it. God bless.
Yes Jimbob, I would be happy to & will try to be succinct. Though I should mention that the meaning of the Great Tribulation, or Day of the Lord, needs to be clarified first. I understand, as you do, that the time of the outpouring of God's Wrath upon the World can be understood as the Great Tribulation, but I see the final week (7 years) of Daniel's seventy weeks, 490 years: Daniel 9:24-27, as the final seven years - years that will change the World's existence & future forever. And by the way, you believe in a post-trib rapture & I understand that as being before God's Wrath poured out. I view this position to be one of mid-trib for the reason I've shared above, but that's not the point here.
Now my Scriptures for a pre-trib (or, pre-Day of the Lord) rapture:
a. the Church is a mystery ( Ephesians 1:1-13), by which believing Jew & Gentile are united into one Body ( Ephesians 2:11-22). Therefore, the Church's translation is not mentioned in the OT that deals with Christ's Second Coming after the Tribulation, & why the Church is promised deliverance before the time of God's Wrath ( 1 Thessalonians 1:9,10; 1 Thessalonians 5:9; Revelation 3:10).
b. the 70th week in Daniel, is the preparation of Israel's restoration & regeneration ( Deuteronomy 4:29-30; Jeremiah 30:4-11; Ezekiel 20:22-44; Ezekiel 22:13-22).
c. the Tribulation (including anti-Christ's reign) is not for the Church, but for those who are in the world ( Revelation 3:10; 8:13; 11:10; 13:8,12,14; 17:2,8). The Church is never seen here & will not participate in Israel's time of trouble.
Dear Kobe, You have asked some questions that are perplexing.
In this post I will address the first one.
Why are we told not to be jealous when the Bible says that God is jealous?
We must understand that our emotions are not pure and holy like God's are. Jealousy for us is a negative and usually sinful emotion for us because we are jealous out of selfish love.
On the other hand, God is Jealous for His people and does not want them to follow after other gods because us doing so is destructive to us being so sinful as to sever the relationship between us and God. God wants us to follow, serve and worship Him alone because it benefits us tremendously to do so. so, for our sake, God is jealous because He does not want us to be separated from Him by us being unfaithful and idolatrous.
Why does God not want us to be jealous but in the bible, it says he is a jealous God?
And if we are servants of God, why did he come to Earth as a servant and in the likeness of a man, didn't he want us to believe that he was God if he did so much why didn't he make it so much easier a have scientifical proof or just turn into an light so bright that only the son of God could turn into?
And if God is so good why does he let bad things happen to good people all the time, and if he is all powerful and don't want anyone to go to hell why did he create the devil because he knew that he would turn on him in heaven so isn't that God's fault?
And if he gave us free will how does he know what we are always going to do technically he didn't give us free will since he knows technically he wrote out our lives for us is this true or not sorry for asking weird questions I just need to know?
If that's true, that is very disappointing. Mark 9, & Matthew 17:21, Matthew 17, helps us understand how to deliver & heal the worst cases of torment upon a person by prayer & fasting. We cannot understand why anyone does bad, the spirit of a man knows the man, 1Corinthians 2:11,
We're told not to add or take away Deuteronomy 4:2, Revelation 22:18,19,
this is a letter of hope that all things are possible thru him - "do not say any name other than god do not say yeshua or jesus or any name of any--- god. let the believers tell them."

i am trying to write this quietly
it does not explicitly matter which version, but the more the leaders of this nation are familiar with the verses, the louder his spirit will speak to them

this is not to be a sermon
this is a letter of hope that all things are possible thru him - do not say any name other than god do not say yeshua or jesus or any name of any--- god. let the believers tell them
Hi Neveah. Just further to GiGi's accurate & helpful comment, I would like to clarify an oft mistaken understanding of the Person of God. As you asked, "How can God be three people at the same time?", I think many people, even some Christians, seem to think that the word 'Trinity' implies three gods. Why? Because it's difficult for the human finite mind to comprehend how one can be divided into three & still equal one, without becoming fractions. But it's not one dividing into three, but three together manifesting the one.
This is where the first error comes in: that some believe that God can be divided. The Scriptures remind us that God is One ( Deuteronomy 6:4; Deuteronomy 4:35,39) & there is no other god beside Him. Then the fact that we read in the Word, of God's Spirit and God's Son, we are then inclined to believe that the Spirit & Son are separate gods from the One God. The Bible tells us in 1 John 5:7, "For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one." So, in the person of God we find the evidence of Father, the Word, & the Holy Ghost. This is God for Who He is - the absence of any one of these 'aspects' negates the reality of God or any evidence of Him (i.e. God cannot be God unless His Word & Spirit are in existence within Him).
Now God can do what mortal man cannot do: He can send out His Spirit to fulfil His Will & Plans for the universe & for us. He has also chosen to send out His Word, clothe the Word with human flesh for the salvation & redemption of sinners ( John 1:1-14). Impossible for us to do, but not impossible with God. Is God now deficient in Himself by doing all this? Not so. Both the Spirit & the Word were sent out by God from within God, & all they have done & continue to do are in perfect harmony with God's Mind, Power, & Purpose. Simply put, the Word (Jesus) & the Spirit can never do anything outside of God's Will because they are fully within or sent from God's Being.
Exodus 30:7-10, these are specified rules Moses had been given for the Priests to follow. Best to keep the whole of these scriptures together. Deuteronomy 4:2, the offering & relevant starts in previous chapters, Exodus 25, Exodus 26, Exodus 27, Exodus 28, Exodus 29, continuing to Exodus 30, Exodus 31, Exodus 40, also in Deuteronomy, Leviticus,

Also there are several methods of cleaning sea water into drinking water, even used in Space for Astronaut survival. Hello, I don't think Mishael checks this comment section. l read your question, I will give you my opinion, an example I went through & scriptures I find relevant. Hopefully these are all helpful.
1st if we're personally bothered in our spirit about something it may be the HOLY Spirit telling us it's wrong. Ephesians 4:30, John 14:23-26, 1Corinthians 2:10-16,
2nd if we're doubtful, is that also indication it's wrong? Romans 14:22-23, scripture in context, whole chapter: Romans 14,
3rd, is this were loving GOD, hating your ._.__ comes in? Are we willing to serve GOD over love of family? Luke 14:26,
4th, Luke 14:27, not being a cross you put in your pocket, around your neck or on the wall: Micah 5:12,13, Deuteronomy 18:9-14, Nahum 1:14, Deuteronomy 4:14-20, Deuteronomy 4:23-25, I even have personal conviction about wearing a cross, since I accepted JESUS as my Savior at young age. Something just bothered me inside about it spiritually. Even though some were special "Christian" gifts. & many people wear them.
5th, One day recently, I saw a "Christian" bookstore selling crucifixion nails as jewelry. I cringed. Then I thought if someone was killed, raised again from the grave; would that person eagerly embrace another that had the weapon or thing that tortured & caused the pain & death, hung around their neck? or would they feel multiple emotions triggered by it? I thought of someone wearing a pill, bullet, ect. of a loved one, in resemblance, remembrance.
Luke 14,
6th, sometimes we're an example to others, in these matters set before us as tests. 1Corinthians 10:13,14, James 1:12, 2Corinthians 3:2,
The Israelites were indeed reminded that the LORD God was always near to them - with them; and yet they should have known (or, maybe it wasn't revealed to them at that stage), that this God is also known by His compound Name, YHWH-Shammah: "The LORD Who is Present".
Revelation 22:18-19
Chris has given you the verse in Revelation. There is also a verse in Deuteronomy 4:2 that speaks similarly about adding to the words the Lord has given through Moses or to take away or diminish them.
I think I am on 8
8) Although God commands them against idolatry, He tells them that they will indeed turn from Him to idols, corrupting themselves before God, doing the very evil He tells them to avoid.
( Jn. 4:24)
Agape. RICH P
It says there is one Lord (God).
Jesus said, " I and my Father are one".
And if he gave us free will how does he know what we are always going to do technically he didn't give us free will since he knows technically he wrote out our lives for us is this true or not sorry for asking weird questions I just need to know?

we need a letter - to this nation under god
billy graham did it !!!!
and it needs to be written with bible verses that this generation of ours is familiar with
such as i am 65 years old i was raised in the catholic church and never heard the word of god i studied the king james version as our god spoke loud and clear - to me and yes, his voice is sometimes quiet yet oh so loud!
i am trying to write this quietly
it does not explicitly matter which version, but the more the leaders of this nation are familiar with the verses, the louder his spirit will speak to them
billy graham did and yea, a few others martin luther said a few words
martin luther king jr oh yeah, i have a dream that one day this nation will rise up
what the world needs now is love, sweet love, that's the only thing that there is just too little of
come on people now smile on your brother try to love one another right now
include that speech as it applies in every way to bible verses
this is not to be a sermon
this is a letter of hope that all things are possible thru him - do not say any name other than god do not say yeshua or jesus or any name of any--- god. let the believers tell them
This is where the first error comes in: that some believe that God can be divided.

6th, sometimes we're an example to others, in these matters set before us as tests. 1Corinthians 10:13,14, James 1:12, 2Corinthians 3:2,
