    Please , come on here and tell us these contradictions , we love to help people sort these things out ! Sometimes we all find things that we can't quite wrap our heads around , that's what this site is here for . I know of a massive contradiction in the accounts of David's life . I don't have time to put it up here this minute but I shall try later . I wonder if anyone else has noticed it ? Is a contradiction in the way David's actions were perceived and the writter definately says two different things . I will leave it with you all to see if anyone else has noticed and I will reveal it in about ten or twelve hours , give you time to think about it and find it ? Haha !

    James 1:5, ask GOD for wisdom & understanding as you read. Mark 9:23-24, Romans 11:29-36,

    I had to pray many times as I was reading & trying to understand the Bible when I was serious about turning my life to GOD.

    If there are certain situations you need help with, in life, you can even use this site to research scripture, questions & answers, or ask questions.

    I've found any time I've questioned scripture seemingly contradiction, after deeper reading, prayer & study I find it doesn't.

    You can search words, names, phrases.

    Hopefully this is helpful

    When I read the bible I can't help but hear things being misconstrued. One person says one thing then another book says something totally contradictory to the other. But I'm supposed to believe they all posses the same knowledge from the same thing. Sounds like more than one author... I'm just looking for answers to the questions we all have. I believe but sometimes hard to keep faith when man changes the words. Languages change the meaning and so forth. Wondering if you see what I see,... They say the faith of a mustard seed. Well I have a hell of a mountain to move. Pray for me.

    Psalms 14:1 and Psalm 53:1

    (To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David.)

    The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

    Gary,

    The Bible speaks of God being both eternal and everlasting ( Psalm 90:2, Genesis 21:33, Deuteronomy 33:27) just to name a few.

    In order to understand God being both eternal and everlasting, we would have to conclude that God has no beginning and no end.

    If we ask who created God, then we would then have to ask who created the person that created God, and it would never ever end. So, if it never ends, it can only be logical that God has no creator but has always been in existence.

    Gary Gen.1:1 In the beginning God created everything God is eternal always existed, all mighty omnipresent, all love

    all light, all caring,, all perfect, all spirit, all life giving, all order their is nothing above or before all mighty GOD.

    Hi Ted. In 1 Corinthians 1:16, we read of Paul baptizing the household of Stephanas. Some use this verse to support infant or child baptism. Yet, we understand the core meaning of water baptism is that of identification with the act & merits of Christ's Sacrifice in the person's life.

    If a child is at the age of having no consciousness of error, sin or right & wrong, then Believer's Baptism has no value. Consecrating a child to the Lord would have more significance (as Hannah of old did with the child Samuel). This act would imply both a giving back to the Lord for His Will to be done in the child's life & also an affirmation by the parents before God to give all due care & godly training to this precious gift.

    What advantage is there to baptize a person who has not reached the age of accountability.

    Wisdom is personified as a woman in Proverbs 1:20-21; 2:2-4; 3:14-18; 4:7-8; 8:1-36 and 9:1-12. Each time wisdom speaks. The first time wisdom speaks is in Proverbs 1:20-21.

    Wisdom shouts in the street,

    She lifts her voice in the square;

    At the head of the noisy streets she cries out;

    At the entrance of the gates in the city she utters her sayings: Proverbs 1:20-21 (NASB)

    The Hebrew word for wisdom is hakmot and this noun is a feminine plural. A literal reading would seem to be "Wisdom shouts in the street," except that the second line is in the singular - "she lifts her voice." F. C. Cook writes,

    In the Hebrew the noun is a feminine plural . . . as though this Wisdom were the queen of all wisdoms, uniting in herself all their excellences.[1]

    That is, since Proverbs 2:6 says that God gives wisdom, the wisdom in Proverbs is the queen of all wisdoms. There is no greater wisdom.

    comment: I don't think proverbs 31 means wisdom is a heavenly female creature. My opinion. It is the way Solomon (had 900 wives;300 concubines) described wisdom. Possibly Jewish literature would address this?

    I don't know.

    Hello Betty In James 3:13-17 gives a good summary of wisdom verse 17[correct application of information given] from

    above and from below 14-16[incorrection usage of knowledge]. The word she biblically is at times used of the item

    itself, I think of a man that loves something that's worked well i.e. car, tool etc. Wisdom she is worth great treasure to

    those who love her and apply. It is very interesting that in nerse 17 there are eight manifested or shown in someones walk of Gods wisdom and 8 biblically signifies spiritual perfection. These are trsaits in people who endeavor to walk

    in Christ Jesus via the spirit.

    God Bless

    Good question. Would someone with a very deep understanding of Biblical Hebrew and of the ancient Bible word usage to explain whether Wisdom is really feminine or whether the noun "Wisdom" is traditionally used as feminine for grammar inflection to show gender (and what does that mean).
  • Betty Harrison on Ecclesiasticus 1 - 2 years ago
    What is wisdom that it is referred to as a female, her or she? What is the connection between God and wisdom?

    Jesus wrote this gospel, Jesus son of Sirach. This gospel is a minor gospel plus this is the 2nd cousin of our savior and god Christ, Jesus Christ.
