I very much appreciate your touching replies.
Just as you stated in Matthew 22:14. That those of us who truly accept Jesus Christ as our Salvation and give our lives to Him. I believe have been chosen by God and are very precious to Him. As He is everything to us and knows our hearts. All being important members of the body of Christ. Not that I was trying to boast or anything when I stated that to him. Just what was in my heart. I was surprised when I heard the reply I received about that detail.
Here are a couple other Scriptures of being "chosen". Ephesians 1:4, 2 Thessalonians 2:13, 1 Peter 2:3-5.
God Bless you my sister in Christ.
Below are some verses that cover this topic
Philippines 2:13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure
Ephesians 1:5-6 Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved
Ephesians 1:9 Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself:
2 Thessalonians 1:10-12 When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that day. Wherefore also we pray always for you, that our God would count you worthy of this calling, and fulfil all the good pleasure of his goodness, and the work of faith with power: That the name of our Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified in you, and ye in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.
Yes, there is one God, I agree. And He is unchanging, I agree. I also know that Jesus Christ is the HUIOS, the inheritor of all things from the Father, and Jesus is the head over all things to the church as given to us in Ephesians 1:22. Once Christ ascended up into His position, all things are now put under the feet of Christ, and all must answer to Christ. Now concerning His headship, it says "And gave Him to be the head over all things with respect to the church."
So it is right to say that God is head over all, and that Jesus Christ is head over all because Jesus Christ is the Huios of God, the one who was in position to inherit all things from the Father. And Jesus is now the head over all things because He is God the Son, and the Son has inherited all things from the Father!
Blessings be to God and father of our Lord Jesus Christ ....
The BIG QUESTION? If you don't accept Christ in your physical life time are you cut off forever? Or go to hell?
Most BELIEVE in this assumption.
If the scriptures are studied as a whole and verses are not picked and apply in direct opposition to other verses we see a different truth than the above.
The scriptures assert that THE WORKS OF GOD are divided into different ages or generations.
So what's taking place in the age we are presently living in.
Scripture says that God through Christ is CHOOSING a few to rule and judge in HIS KINGDOM and they with HIM will bring all creation INTO CHRIST.

In every instance when a Christian received the gift of the Holy Ghost after the New Testament began in the book of Acts (the first Church), it was always accompanied with speaking in another tongue (Samaritans: Acts 8:16-18 , Gentiles- Acts 10:46, Jews- Acts 19:1-6).
This is the proof or earnest (token) of a Christian's inheritance ( Ephesians 1:14).
This was prophesied by the prophet Isaiah
11 For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people.
12 To whom he said, This is the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing: yet they would not hear.
With all due respect, a Christian does not receive the gift of the Holy Ghost and is not sealed thereby the moment they believe as many lying pastors/theologians teach (along with other false doctrines like the "trinity" "once saved always saved" "purgatory" etc). Likewise a feeling of peace is not evidence you have received the Holy Ghost. While I do agree there are many that speak false tongues in emulation (primarily in the "Pentecostal/Apostolic" businesses), that does not invalidate the real thing.
May I ask you Richard (in Christ), have you been baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of your sins ( Gal. 3:27)?
Sincerely,
Andrew
2 Corinthians 1:22 Who (Christ) has SEALED us, and given us the earnest (down payment) of the Spirit in our heart.
Ephesians 1:13-14 In whom ye also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel (CHRIST IN YOU) of your salvation: in whom also after that you BELIEVED, you were SEALED with the holy Spirit of promise.
(vs 14) Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.
At the redemption (the death of the body of flesh) you will be given the Spirit without measure and a glorified body.
1 Peter 1:21 Who (you) by him (Christ) do BELIEVE in God, that raised him from the dead, and gave him glory; that your FAITH (CHRIST) and hope might be in God.
CHRIST IN YOU
Galatians 2:16 .....but by the FAITH OF JESUS CHRIST, even we have BELIEVED (by his faith) in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the FAITH of Jesus Christ.....
Romans 8:29 For whom (you) he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he (CHRIST IN YOU) might be the first born of MANY BROTHERS.
Christians go astray and do things they should not do. BUT God is longsuffering. And if they were truly born again they will repent. If they don't return, yes, their Christianity is in question.
John also states in John 10:27-29, "My sheep hear my voice and I know them; and they follow me. And I give to them eternal life; and they will never perish forever and not anyone will seize them from out of my hand. My Father who has given them to me is greater than all, and no one is able to seize them from out of the hand of my Father."
Jude states in his doxology in verse 24, "But to the one being able to keep you without stumbling and to set you before His glory blameless in exultation."
Paul in his writings emphasized the keeping power of God's Spirit in Ephesians 1:13-14: "In whom also after having heard the Word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, in whom also, after having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, who is the guarantee of our inheritance, for redemption of the possession, for the praise of His glory."
He states again in Ephesians 4:30, "And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God in whom you were sealed for the day of redemption." Probably one of the most powerful Scriptures of God's keeping power is Romans 8:38-39: "For I am persuaded that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor powers, nor any thing which has come, nor things coming, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."
The only way a person can be saved is by a spiritual birth from God; and the only way a person can keep his salvation is through the keeping power of God.
Many scriptures were written to show believers that some among them, who professed to be Christians, were actually not saved. John wrote I John so those who were saved would know that they have eternal life ( 1 John 5:13). In this letter, he listed many evidences, so that salvation could be proven among genuine believers.
Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth
We was redeemed by his precious blood. Ephesians 1:7. In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace; We was purchased by his blood Acts 20:28, Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.
We are forgiven but those sins wasn't, Jesus wasn't pardoned because he was the Christ, He had a debt to pay to the father, God is not a crooked judge, the penalty for those sins had to be paid, And he paid them on the cross. A good study on Romans Ch: 5, 6, 7, and 8 is very helpful on this topic.
Thank you.
from the beginning
2 Thessalonians 2:13-14 "But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth: 14 Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ." Other verses say, "foundation of the world,"
Ephesians 1:4 "According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:" But we were not "in him" until we received him. So, how did God call you by Paul's Gospel before the foundation of the world? Pete says it was "Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied." 1 Peter 1:2. elect, and chosen have the same meaning. So, God looked forward in time, and saw all those gentiles who would believe Paul's Gospel, and all the Jews who would believe John's Gospel: John 20:31 "But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name." and Paul's Gospel for the Gentiles. 1 Corinthians 15:3-4 "For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:" And those are the ones that was Chose before the foundation of the world. Do you see the difference in these two Gospels? Paul's Gospel is for the Gentiles during the Age of Grace, often called the Church age. and John's Gospel in for the Jews before the age of Grace, and the Great Tribulation after the age of Grace. And Believing is the way you receive Jesus as the Christ, the son of God, for the Jews. And believing Paul's Gospel is the way yo
Ephesians! I think of superlatives like Eph 3:20-21 Now unto him that is able to do EXCEEDING, ABUNDANTLY ABOVE ALL that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.
Here, the opening verses 3-14 enumerate spiritual blessings IN CHRIST.
Verse 6 has this phrase, "To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted IN THE BELOVED."
It ties into vss 12 & 14 "the praise of His glory."
This is all about the richness and vastness of God's marvelous Grace. Grace that He has bestowed on unworthy sinners. Think of it: He does NOT give us what we rightly deserve AND He freely gives us what we in no way deserve. He did not do that for the angels that sinned. This is Grace that glorifies God, a God that keeps the promises He has made over the millennia. Later Paul explains the mystery (used 6 times) that is now revealed to the principalities and powers through the church! Eph 3:9-10.
There's a song that my mother sang many decades ago that ends with these lines:
Holy. Holy. Is what the angels sing
And I expect to help them make the courts of heaven ring
But when I sing redemption's story, angels fold their wings,
For angel never felt the joy that my salvation brings.
Hope this helps.
However, the mark of the Beast, though we can't say for sure how it will be evident, seems to be an identifier on the skin or maybe under it, that reveals a person's decided position to follow & obey the rule of Anti-Christ. And this most will gladly do, so that they can still "buy & sell" & presumably lead somewhat normal lives, without being victimized or suffer hardship or even death.
And as far as eternal security goes just go to Ephesians 1:13 which says "...we are saved by that Holy Spirit of promise". We are part of Christ's body those of us who are born again. Our soul and spirit have been redeemed but our sinful flesh hasn't and we are still waiting for the redemption of the purchased possession. Our works cannot save us.
I did the search for you brother:

When we're born again, we're immediately baptized in & by the Holy Spirit. He sets His Seal upon you ( Ephesians 1:13,14) marking you out as God's very own & you now have all the resources of Heaven at your disposal (for teaching, directing, comfort, answered prayer, strength in troubles, power against the spiritual forces) - but only when we fully trust Him & not waiver in faith. But this increases in our Christian walk & proving Him faithful in every situation.
Water baptism is simply an outward testimony of an inward change. It is confirmation to your own heart & against the forces of evil that will make you doubt that great event in your life, & is a testimony to others of your departure from all that bound you, to the freedom now in Christ. So yes, water baptism is different from Spirit baptism, but it should follow what has been done within you, as soon as you are able to. Join a good Bible-believing Church & immediately share your testimony with the Pastor/Elder, so that your faith & stand for Christ is shown to all. Btw, Jewish baptism was primarily as 'washings' necessary in the faith & not of the same meaning as Christian baptism.
Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory. 2 Corinthians 1:21-22. Now he which stablisheth us with you in Christ, and hath anointed us, is God;
Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts. 2 Corinthians 5:4-6. For we that are in this tabernacle do groan, being burdened: not for that we would be unclothed, but clothed upon, that mortality might be swallowed up of life.
Now he that hath wrought us for the selfsame thing is God, who also hath given unto us the earnest of the Spirit.
Therefore we are always CONFIDENT. knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord: Philippians 1:6. Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ: If I had to trust in me I couldn't be confident, but God already paid down on his procession and sealed my destiny and he gave me the spirit of promise, and will redeem his purchase. Thats why we can't loose our salvation, it's not in our hands to fumble, it's in God's. To say you can't know is contuary to our faith. God is faithful. And when we are saved it will manifest im our mortal bodies, Romans 8:11. A live branch bare good fruit, We may not be perfect but there is a transformation taking place, and "POSITIONALLY" sanctified. THX
So both these verses point to a Christian's assurance that God has secured a destiny for us that is immutable because of Christ's sacrifice for our sins enabling God forgiving us & our acceptability into His family. That God is now our Father, where we once obeyed & served our former evil father, & that God's Son is our (elder) brother who has shown us the way, indeed was the Way, to our Father, ought to bring us much joy, comfort & assurance in the Work of God for us.
It should be said, that there are some who believe that God has predestined each human being to either eternal life or eternal death & that no amount of preaching, convicting or urging can alter that determination by God. That belief is untrue & I don't know whether this aspect is in your mind as you asked your question. If that was the case, there would be no need for the Gospel, nor preaching, nor responding - indeed, the Cross itself would be brought into question. We do know that God, in His Omniscience (His foreknowledge) knows all about His creation & who will or will not respond to the Cross. But that Knowledge doesn't determine who will be saved or who will be denied salvation. Just thought to add this if you were wondering.

Do Gods creatures have FREE WILL; or, are we the WORKS of the creator?

Hebrews 4:3 For we which believed do enter into rest.....the WORKS (we are the works of the Spirit) were finished before the foundation of the world.
Hebrews 4:11 Let us (works of the Spirit) labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of UNBELIEF.
May the Spirit grace you with his wisdom.
