Hello Rick. That's interesting that you mention Colossians 2:16-20. In the sermon this morning, I was directed to Colossians 2:12-15 - verses just before the ones you gave. It came as a confirmation of what the New Covenant in Christ's Blood accomplished: "Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross". The Law as given was truly "holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good", but it failed to make a man righteous, rather to point him to his inability to keep it & his need of a Saviour.

Galatians 3:19-23: "Wherefore then serveth the law? It was added because of transgressions, till the seed should come to whom the promise was made; and it was ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator. Now a mediator is not a mediator of one, but God is one. Is the law then against the promises of God? God forbid: for if there had been a law given which could have given life, verily righteousness should have been by the law. But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe. But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed."

And this faith that leads to salvation came after the work at the Cross was accomplished & the Holy Spirit was sent to give those earnestly seeking forgiveness, giving to them God's Grace & Faith to believe ( Ephesians 2:8). The Sabbath might be holy but if the Jewish rigidity of obedience is ascribed to it by Christians under the Blood, then both it & the whole Law nullifies one of the core accomplishments of the Cross: liberty to walk & obey in the Spirit & not by the letter.

These are just two of many verses about the importance of the cross, and Jesus salvation on the cross.

John 14:6-7, "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."

"If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him."

Ephesians 2:8-9 "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:" "Not of works, lest any man should boast."
  • S Spencer - In Reply - 3 years ago
    Hi Hans.

You may want to go back over what you are disagreeing on.

The Emphasis here is by faith Abraham was counted righteous APART from the deeds of the Law.

    Please see Galatians 4:21-28

Here's the Context of my Original post

    Galatians 4:28

Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of promise.

Isaac is not a Child of the flesh

" NOT OF ABRAHAM AND SARAH'S DOING THEY WERE BARREN."

The Promise was given BEFORE Abraham believed.

This promise was "INITIATED" and confirmed by a covenant back in

Genesis 15:8-12. Not in Genesis 22.

Abraham was put to sleep so God entered the covenant alone.

    Only he can break it!!

It's not broken or held up by any condition of Abraham.

"A conditional covenant needs both parties passing between the divided carcass."

Now let's go over the steps in sequence.

1 Abraham is given a Promise by God.

    Genesis 15:4-5.

    THEN.

2 Abraham believed God. What did he believe in? God's PROMISE.

    Genesis 15:6.

    3rd God performs the covenant.

    Genesis 15:8-12.

Note: The Land is tied to the promise, But that's for a different study.

    " Hebrews 11:8-10."

THIS IS WHERE THE GOSPEL IS PREACHED TO ABRAHAM.

    " Galatians 3:5-10."

    1) We have God's PROMISE " His Word.

    2) We have Abraham believed the PROMISE "Faith "

    IMPORTANT TO NOTICE.

( Ephesians 2:8. For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:)

    3) In Genesis 22 We will see the Resurrection.

    GENESIS 22.16.

Here in Genesis 22 what is it Abraham believed in? This is about 33 years after the "PROMISE OF ISAAC" in Genesis 15.

Answer: Hebrews 11:17-19. By faith Abraham, when he was tried, offered up Isaac: and he that had received the promises offered up his only begotten son,

Of whom it was said, That in Isaac shall thy seed be called:

ACCOUNTING THAT GOD WAS ABLE TO RAISE HIM UP, EVEN FROM THE DEAD; from whence also he received him in a figure.

    Abraham stumbled with these promises.

    Gen. 17:17-18.

    Thank God it's UNCONDITIONAL.

    parable of THE SEED

Luke 8:11 The parable is this, THE SEED is the WORD of God.

John 1:14 And the WORD was made flesh...

    Jesus is THE SEED

SEED always multiples ITSELF, if a single wheat seed is planted, it multiples into multiple SEEDS that are exactly like THE SEED planted.

Christ is THE SEED and being planted IN YOU, you become SEED exactly like THE SEED planted.

    Christ is the HOLY GHOST.

Mary was impregnated by the HOLY GHOST (the seed), and the Holy Ghost (the seed) was born flesh (CHRIST).

We (the woman, Christ wife) are impregnated by the Holy Ghost (CHRIST) and we will DELIVER a CHILD (SEED) exactly like the SEED planted.

Isaiah 59:21 AS for me, this is my covenant with them, saith the LORD; My Spirit that is upon thee, and my words which I put in thy mouth, shall not depart out of thy mouth, or out of the mouth of THY SEED, nor out of the mouth of thy SEED'S SEED, from hencefoth and forever.

I AM the first (SEED) and the last (SEED).

Let US make MAN in our IMAGE.

Ephesians 2:10 We are his workmanship, CREATED in Christ Jesus......

Psalms 104:30 Thou sendest forth thy Spirit, they are CREATED: thou renewest the face of the earth.

    ChrisE,

Very well stated. This is the same point I was trying to make not too long ago, but I like the way you put it. The Lord knows His sheep. He knows all those who presently belong to Him. It would not make sense at all for one of His sheep to stand before Him one day and hear the words "Depart from me, I never knew you." If He knows me now, how could He say that He never knew me later?

Have you ever been in a face to face discussion with someone who believes that salvation can be lost? I have. If you ever get into one of those discussions, try asking them if they think they will or can lose theirs. Whoa, now it becomes personal. You can sort of sense how tense they become when you question them about their own personal salvation.

I've been in those conversations. I've had people tell me that you can lose your salvation, but then when you make it personal for them losing theirs, they will say things like "No, not me, because I love the Lord too much for that to ever happen, and I will always follow Him, so I'm never going to lose mine! When did salvation become conditional based on our own human works? Some are quick to agree with Ephesians 2:8-9, but then they turn around and misapply it by believing human works plays a part in their salvation. We are saved by God's grace and mercy alone, not by our own works of righteousness.

James Healed from all diseases mental physical and spiritual also, the sin we were born in broken fellowship Ephesians 2:1+2 we were without God and without Hope Ephesians 2:12.

This is the sin that Adam succumb to then man was separated from God which eventually brought death. Jesus Christ paid in full that separation and we became sons and daughters by rebirth spiritually and been made righteous by what he paid for with His broken body and shed blood.

Read Romans 5-9 it explains a lot the word of God speaks louder than any man.

When he was raised from the dead and sat down at Gods right hand our redemption was complete now all we need to do

is walk in the believing faith of everything paid for by His Sacrifice.

Hello Hafford. I'll just comment on the Scriptures you gave.

Jesus' baptism was carried out by John the Baptist. John's baptism was different to the Jewish baptism & also different to Believers' baptism (which could only occur post-Cross). John baptised "unto repentance" ( Matthew 3:11) to those who were convinced of their sins & wanted to demonstrate their contrite state. But Jesus (post-Cross) would baptize with the Holy Ghost & with Fire (which He did when He sent His Spirit to baptize first the apostles on the Day of Pentecost, & then all repentant sinners bringing them into God's family).

The Apostle Paul, after being received by Ananias, was filled with the Holy Spirit when the scales of blindness fell off. He then proceeded to be baptized with both his physical & spiritual eyes opened ( Acts 9:17,18).

1 Peter 3:21 states: "The like figure (Noah's Ark) whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ". Peter ensures that he states that water baptism is not for the cleansing of the "filth of the flesh", i.e. how the Jews understood it by a ceremonial washing for external cleansing, but Believers' baptism is an act of identification with Christ, giving the baptizee a clear conscience of receiving Christ's salvation only by faith. If salvation came by anything more than God's Grace through faith in that finished work on the Cross, then salvation is no more of faith but by works (i.e. any act by man to secure it) - Ephesians 2:8-10; Titus 3:5. As important as water baptism is to the new convert, it conveys no saving grace, as Christ's Blood alone is sufficient to deal with the sin question & the expression of our faith to secure that salvation.

No you will not loose your salvation. If you are really save. That you received Jesus Christ as your personal saviour repent to him. The Holy Spirit will work on you to change your ways.

Salvation is a gift from God.

    Ephesians 2:8-9

"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:"

Not of works, lest any man should boast.

I know we still do something that is not good doesnt mean that you will loose your salvation by doing the wrong thing. The good thing that we have the assurance to go with the Lord and repent the sin that we do for our wrong doings and the Holy Spirit will help us to change and to turn away from the bad things. The assurance of being saved receiving the salvation of God.

    Godbless.

Hello GiGi, What I meant was that there is only one gospel that can save mankind today, and that is the gospel of grace ( Acts 20:24 1 Corinthians 15: 1-4 That Christ died for our sins, was buried and rose again the third day. Appropriated by faith alone apart from the Mosaic law ( Romans 3:20,21) The gospel of grace and doctrines for the body of Christ, the Church, was a secret ( Romans 16:25, Ephesians 3: 1-11) hidden in the mind of God until revealed to the apostle Paul. In other words, between the time God called Abraham and the calling of the apostle Paul, there was no message of salvation to the Gentile world ( Ephesians 2:11,12). The gospel of grace is most clearly defined in 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 " Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures: And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures. Paul's Gospel: The apostle Paul Holy Spirit inspired of course, repeatedly referred to the gospel of grace as "my gospel"( Romans 2:16, 16:25 Galatians 2:2,7: 2 Timothy 2:8) Paul could say this because the gospel of grace was in fact revealed to Paul alone and he was chosen by the ascended and risen Lord Himself to be the apostle of the Gentiles( Acts 9:15, Romans 11:13) These new revelations came approximately10 years after Pentecost ( Galatians 1:1,11-12;17) All mankind during the age of grace will be judged according to Paul's gospel. " In the day that God will judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ, according to my gospel" Romans 2:16 Paul warned mankind twice in Galatians, anyone that preached any other gospel then what was revealed to him by the ascended Lord Himself will be cursed " Please read Galatians 1: 8-9 KJV

Hi David, It is a pleasure to discuss spiritual beliefs with others, even when we have theological differences! Now to Adam's ability of free will. Before Adam received the "breath of life" as recorded in Genesis 2:7, he had no life. All the faculties' we humans have, were in place. However, he could not choose to give himself life until the Spirit entered him. This is the only way we can have spirit living. Adam lost this at the tree. We can choose evil over Good. Remember Esau, he could choose to turn his back on God, but what did he experience in terms of giving himself back to God's promise? Hebrews' 12:17, "For ye know how that afterward, when he would have inherited the blessing, he was rejected: for he found no place of repentance, though he sought it carefully with tears."

As you well stated, "they lost the Spirit connection with God." Since then, humans, have lost that connection with God, and we are incapable of living the Spirit life of God by our choice. This is why Paul writes in Ephesians 1:4, "According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love." We are drawn to Spirit living by God's grace. God calls us. We do not choose Him; He must choose us. God commanded Adam and Eve to leave the Garden. They lost the Spirit of God in them. Therefore, they had no right to enter again. Cherubim angels guarded them from returning to Eden, though like Esau, I am sure they regretted their actions with tears.

We have the human capability to believe, but this is not saving faith. Saving faith, required to sustain our connection with God, is not something we grow into. It is a gift, Ephesians 2:8-9. And not a choice on our part. Recall that Jesus is the "Author and Finisher of our faith." Everything spiritual that Scripture says the redeem have is from God, and not of ourselves.

Ephesians 2:6 And (God, the Father) hath raised US up TOGETHER (you and Christ) and made us (you and Christ) sit together (become one) in heavenly places.

This is the first death and resurrection (you died with Christ and were raised with Christ).

Revelation 20:6 Blessed and holy is he (you and Christ) that hath part in the first resurrection ....

Hello and God Bless Nic God cannot protect people from sin, sin is the state we were born in Ephesians 2:1 or driven by the desires of flesh five senses. Now when you are born again confessing Romans 10:9+10 and believe and walk out on the faith given the faith of jesus Christ Gods viewpoint of you is sinless, all sin past present and future paid for and forgiven. The challenge for the Christian is now to learn to listen to the new man created in righteous by God which is the spirit inside and act or to do everything same as you did before you were born again i.e. old man nature which by nature was against God. Also a really big deal is not to beat yourself up when you sin, not saying don't tell yourself its ok, in contrast know or understand what was done wrong thank god for forgiveness and move on. Don't think that all believers aren't in the same boat so to speak that we don't all act in our old man nature unwillfully that's part of the renewed mind battle. Notice I said battle because the battlefield is the mind, Godly thoughts and actions or your going south. Prayerfully this helps.

Hi, Chris and Rick. I am only going to place English for each text I previously sent in the Greek. Romans 3:22, "Da pisteoos Ieesou Christou," "By THE faith of Jesus Christ," OR, "the faith that comes through Him."

In Acts 3:16, The faith which is from (Or BY HIM)." "to onoma autou kai hee pistis hee di autou. If this verse were to read "Faith IN Jesus" rather than "Faith BY Him," the only way to translate this is, "OUR faith in Jesus Christ," healed the man!

Galatians 2:20 reads in the Greek, "Ho de nun zoo en sarki en pistei zoo tee tou Huiou tou Theou." Translators have often used their own theology which can drastically change the true intent of the inspired writers of Scriptur. For instance, look up the Greek for "torment" in Rev 20:10. The English robs God of His mercy and goodness in this last act with the lost. What word do you find in the Greek? Have you traced it? Let me know what you find. You will be amazed at the wealth of meaning the translators took from us!

I have experienced a profound faith from Christ. Only He could say, at the tomb of Lazarus, John 11:42, of the Father, "I know You always hear Me." My faith has grown to know our Father always hears me if He hears it from the Son!

He is called our Advocate in 1 John 2:1. He defends us before the Father as High Priest, who offers His own life and merits on the sinner's behalf. Heaven has given us the gift of faith, Ephesians 2:8-9, to know, believe and trust ourselves to the High Priest. This is the only way to the Father that pleases Him. We dare not come to Him in our faith. Otherwise, we are entering the Most Holy Place in our own name and dishonor His Holiness. Death waited for anyone who came into the Holy Place except for the High Priest. It is the devils lie telling us we can become as gods!

Leviticus 16 has also given me further insight into what was required by the nation of Israel as they worshipped God on the Day of Atonement. On who did they place their faith?

You have to follow Jesus to be saved, if you don't follow Jesus, you won't be saved. No one is truly 'saved' until after they are judged in heaven and that won't happen until after Jesus comes.

Not everyone who calls on the name of Jesus will be saved. You have to actually follow Jesus. As a follower you still have freewill to choose your actions and sometimes people stop following Jesus. Paul said we can have assurance of salvation if we follow Jesus. Following Jesus includes obeying His commandments. Just because you obey doesn't mean you're saved by works, as some like to assume. Those who will be saved will be saved by grace through faith Ephesians 2:8. This assumes you're still following Jesus! I suspect that some don't care to follow Jesus, but still want assurances and entitlements. Jesus already said what would happen in the end to folks like this. Reread all the Bible verses previously listed.

Hello Chris, You are correct about Romans 3:4, I gave a wrong text! Thank you for your comments. Some may read our thinking as a difference in semantics. Time for the Greek. Romans 3:22 reads in the KJV, "Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe." By faith of Jesus Christ in the Greek reads, , "By THE faith of Jesus Christ," or the faith that comes through Him. In Acts 3:16, "The faith which is From Him" is, " " If instead the phrase reads "faith IN Jesus Christ'" it could only mean OUR faith in Jesus Christ. Galatians 2:20 reads in the Greek, , . Translators have often used their own theology which can drastically change the true intent of the inspired writes of Scripture. For instance, look up the Greek for "torment" in Rev 20:10. Tell me the actual word.

I have experienced a profound faith in Christ.

Chris, my understanding has given me a freedom of absolute surrender to Christ I never experienced. It certainly does not distract my belief in the gospel. I no longer look at my faith to speak to the Father. I now speak to Him through the faith of Jesus. I never have to say again, "I wish I had stronger faith." I do have it! It is my faith in His faith for me!

Once saved we are then Children of God, made His children thru the blood. If I displease my physical dad, he may become angry and chasten and punish me. He may kick me out of the house, but because I've got his DNA I'm still his son, his blood flows thru my veins. God is THE Father, and His blood is the blood. These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life. 1 John 5:13 if you can lose salvation, how can you know that ye have eternal life? If you can cease to be saved, there's never a certainty that you are saved at all, but this verse says, "That ye may KNOW". All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness. That's 2 Timothy 3:16 why would God inspire it to be said that ye know if it wasn't so? Titus 1:2 Tells us that God who cannot lie. God wouldn't have had John write a lie. Then there's Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace are ye saved thru faith, its a gift of God, not of works, lest any man should boast. To say we can lose salvation thru something we've done, is to, on the opposite end say we're maintaining our salvation thru works, if it's our works maintaining us, we can boast, if that's the case, what good was it for The Perfect Lamb to die, AKA Jesus Christ The Son of God, if He couldn't provide a perfect salvation? Is God not powerful and gracious enough to maintain our salvation, or is something too hard for Him? Would you dare claim our works are too much for His grace and love? Can He then be defeated even tho He conquered death and hell on the cross? "I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death." That's Revelation 1:18 If He has given us life ( Ephesians 2:1 For you hath He quickened..made alive) then by our sins we condemn ourselves once again, that is to say we have the power to pluck the keys of death and hell from Him?

Sanctification Is 'God Setting us Apart,' Spiritually Romans 15:16 1 Corinthians 1:2

This is First for those who have "first trusted In Christ, Are Made Accepted In The Beloved, and Were Sealed With That Holy Spirit of Promise, Which is The Earnest of our inheritance until The Redemption of The Purchased possession, To The Praise And Glory Of HIS GRACE" Ephesians 1:6,12,13,14 = The Past tense of God's Eternal Salvation

And Then Only After This, occurs the "present and future" tenses of 2 Corinthians 1:10

    Part II

    2 Corinthians 1:9-10

"...God Which raiseth the dead: Who Delivered us from so great a death, and Doth Deliver: in Whom we trust that He Will Yet Deliver us"

    2) God's Eternal Salvation in The Present Tense:

The believer Should do 'good works' for which we 'are created In Christ Jesus' Ephesians 2:10

Note that 'these works' will Never Be Equal to the Total Payment That Christ Made For 'the Penalty of sin,' for which "He Already Delivered" us in the past tense of 2 Corinthians 1:10

These good works are for submission To Him, so that 'He Doth Deliver' us from 'the Power of sin,' present tense of 2 Corinthians 1:10

We "work out Our Own salvation" which Should Be a lifetime of Deliverance From the Power of sin! Our personal {set our-'Self' apart} sanctification:

    2A)

"Access The GRACE, Wherein ye stand!..." Romans 5:2

    1) "Die Daily" by submission, according to Paul's exhortation:

"I beseech you therefore, brethren, By the Mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice..." Romans 12:1-2 cp 1 Corinthians 15:31

    2)

"Walk In The Spirit!" Romans 8:1,4 Galatians 5:16,25

"And walk in love, as Christ Also Hath Loved us, and Hath Given HIMSELF For us An Offering and A Sacrifice To God for a sweet-smelling savour." Ephesians 5:2

    2b)

Fulfil, by faith, ALL Of His Law, In "ONE Word: LOVE thy neighbor as thyself!" Galatians 5:6 Galatians 5:14 Romans 13:8-10

    2c)

Study HIS Word Of Truth, Rightly Divided, to show thyself Approved Unto God! 2 Timothy 2:15 Eternal Results:

reward, or loss thereof 1 Corinthians 3:6-15, ruling and reigning With CHRIST, Which Will Finally Be At The Judgment Day:

    3) God's Eternal Salvation in The Future Tense:

CHRIST's GLORIFICATION of All "members" Of HIS Body! This Is ETERNAL DELIVERANCE From the Presence of sin! 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 1 Corinthians 15:51-57

Hi Sasha We were born under the influence or subjected to sin now when I was taught the greatness of what I was redeemed from by Jesus Christ I confessed my sin and my sins are paid for now when i sin or break fellowship I ask forgiveness through my saviour. How can an individual know if he is sinning if he doesn't know what sin is, that is in the category of ignorant but once I understood my fault through Gods Word I changed and accepted my fault and my Saviour. No one said they denied their sin but remember we were born in that state Ephesians 2:1 and 5 without God and without hope. Now being a saint being born again when I sin or break fellowship I confess and am forgiven because as it says in 1 John 1:8-10 but this applies to us who are born again.

Hello Tony. I think of Ephesians 2:8, "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God". We see here that the "Gift of God" is the whole: Grace & Faith. Both are needed from Him to receive His Salvation: the Gift of Grace & the Gift of Faith.

However, I couldn't place which verse(s) you were referring to. Both Romans 3:4 & Galatians 2:20, do not reveal what you suggest. Unless you were thinking of Galatians 3:26; Colossians 1:4; Colossians 2:5; & there may be more. I doubt if the apostle intended to infer that this was a faith generated by one towards attaining Christ, rather that the Gift being given & now existing in the believer, from which comes his varied expressions of that faith.

Brother Rick, You said spirit of truth and spirit of error can not come from the same source.

I though God was the ONLY source of every thing.

Colossians 1:16 For by him were ALL THINGS created, that are in heaven and that are in earth, visible and INVISIBLE. whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or POWERS: all things were created by him, and FOR HIM.

Ephesians 6:12 For we wrestle not with flesh and blood, but against principalities. against POWERS, against the rulers of darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

All these things we fight against in Ephesians 6:12 are the same things that he created for HIMSELF in Colossians 1:16

2 Thessalonians 2:8 Then shall that Wicked be revealed.....

2 Thessalonians 2:9 Even him (that wicked), whose coming is after the working of SATAN with all POWERS and signs of lying wonders,

2 Thessalonians 2:10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness IN THEM that perish; because THEY received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

2 Thessalonians 2:11 FOR THIS CAUSE shall GOD shall send them strong delusion that they should BELIEVE A LIE.

Man says this verse is talking about that ONE ANTI CHRIST, but verse 10 SAYS THEM AND THEY. That's more than one.

Ephesians 2:2 Where in time past ye also walked according to the course of this world (FLESH), according to the prince (Satan)of the POWER of the air ( 2 Thessalonians 2:9), the SPIRIT that now worketh in the children of disobedience (Satan).

2 Thessalonians 2:8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall CONSUME with the spirit of his mouth (the WORD) and the brightness (the LIGHT) of his coming ( Hebrews 9:28).

Earl With all due respect that contradicts Ephesians 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, also Ephesians 2:2 also 1 John 4:1-3 how many times is spirit mentioned. Spirit of truth and spirit of error cannot come from same source. That's my conclusion to this matter God bless.

Precious friend, Landon. Water baptism to be saved? Yes, for Israel, to be "inducted into the priesthood," and for "remission of sin," However:

Rightly Divided 2 Timothy 2:15 From "Things That DIFFER!":

No, for the Body Of CHRIST! = No "works" to be saved, as it is by "GRACE Through faith" Ephesians 2:8-9 There is ONLY 'ONE' Baptism, Today, Under God's PURE GRACE!:

ONE 'Spiritual' Baptism to be saved? Yes!:

Precious friend, I apologize if I was 'vague' about "GRACE Through faith" 'alone.' This ONLY refers to the 'past tense' Of God's ETERNAL Salvation! Hope this 'clears up' any Misunderstanding:

God's Will, Today, Under HIS PURE GRACE? Very Simply, To "know you're going to heaven":

    (1) God 'Establishes HIS Eternal Relationship' With those who humbly:

believe, 100% trust, place Total faith, In The LORD JESUS CHRIST, HIS Death {Precious BLOOD}, Burial, And HIS Resurrection, According To The Scriptures! ( 1 Corinthians 15:3-4) ( Ephesians 2:8-9) ( Romans 3-5)

"GRACE Through faith" 'Alone,' In The Merits Of HIS Precious And ALL-Sufficient BLOOD Results:

All sins Forgiven, HIS Eternal Life, And, Peace With God! {This Is Eternal DELIVERANCE From the PENALTY of sin!} ETERNAL 'Justification' First, And, THEN:

    (2) The believer SHOULD do "good works" {Which will NEVER EQUAL CHRIST's PAYMENT For the above PENALTY of sin!}, for Which we Are Created In CHRIST JESUS, to perform for HIM, ( Ephesians 2:10), having "been Called into fellowship With HIM!" ( 1 Corinthians 1:9) Amen?:

We "work out 'OUR OWN' salvation" {This SHOULD Be a lifetime of DELIVERANCE From the POWER of sin!} This is OUR 'Personal' sanctification, and Must not be confused with the above "Justification Which ONLY God Can 'Perform!'" Notice the JUDGMENT DAY, Showing

    These DIFFERENCES! ( 1 Corinthians 3:7-15):

1Co 3:14 If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.

1Co 3:15 If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: {'personal' sanctification}...

...but he himself Shall Be SAVED {God's JUSTIFICATION}; yet so as by fire.

Yes, 'fooling ourselves' is By "Mixing these TWO" Up saying they are both FOR ETERNAL Life, thus NULLIFYING "The ALL-Sufficient BLOOD" Of The Saviour, JESUS CHRIST! Amen?

Please Be Richly Encouraged, Enlightened, Exhorted, and Edified!

Brother Leonard, may CHRIST IN US grace us with HIS wisdom and HIS understanding.

John 15:16 You have not chosen me, but I HAVE CHOSEN YOU, and ordained you ...

Philippians 1:29 For unto you it is GIVEN in the behalf of Christ, not ONLY TO BELIEVE on him, but also to suffer (in the flesh) for his (name) sake.

Ephesians 2:10 For we (the pot) are his (the potter's) workmanship, CREATED in Christ JESUS....

Philippians 2:13 For it is GOD (SPIRIT) that WORKETH IN US both TO WILL (his will becomes our will, only truth reveals this; otherwise, we incorrectly believe it is OUR FREE WILL) and TO DO his good pleasure.

Ephesians 1:11 In whom we also have obtained an INHERITANCE, being predestinated according to the PURPOSE of him who WORKETH ALL THINGS after the council of HIS WILL.

Psalms 92:4 For thou, LORD, has made me glad through THY WORK: I will triumph in the WORKS of THY HANDS.

Psalms 92:5 O LORD, how great are THY WORKS! and thy thoughts are very deep.

Psalms 92:6 A brutish man (beast) knoweth not; neither doth a FOOL understand this.

We are ONLY the pot, pots are made to HOLD something. We were made to hold GOD (SPIRIT).

The SPIRIT does ALL THE WORK.

Colossians 1:27 ....this mystery.... CHRIST IN US (the pot) .....
