"..in time past ye walked according to the course of this world..in times past in the lusts of our flesh..in time past Gentiles in the flesh..Wherefore remember..That at that time ye were without Christ.." To anyone who says to you, that we sin every day, and we can't help but sin; say, Unto what then is the Name of Jesus to us? and how can we be Saved from our sins, but still in our sins?

Eternal truth- For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Ephesians 2:12 That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world: Wow, was God dealing with Jews first, that's why we were aliens from the commonwealth of Israel. God made promises to the Jews, that's why Jesus wasn't ready for the Gentiles. Paul was chosen. Act 9:15

Ephesians 2:12 That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world: But now, Paul tells us that we have hope as Gentiles with Jesus. Jesus has a plan for all of us, that is the Grace of God pored out on the cross on Calvary. There is now hope . .

God is good and this i know for myself, it doesn't take a rocket scientist for me to know that in God we have our being, nothing we have done has made us deserving of anything it is only by the grace of god that he even cares. Jesus paved the way and opened doors that would never have opened had it not been for his sacrifice giving his life in exchange for ours. Thank you Jesus for loving me

Jesus has answered many of my prayers over the past few years and he is faithful to all of his promises, yet we must always defer to his timing. Jesus bless!

disciple"the brethren in the beginning" KNEW God.Using discernment they KNEW the spirit of truth and the spirit of error. The "vast multitudes" are on the broad way.If someone is "starved to death"it is because God has not given them understanding of the knowledge."If we walk in the light as He is in the light,we have fellowship one with another, through the blood of Jesus Christ.

He delivered me from a terrible debt. I did not know what to do, but I knew how to pray. So I prayed and He made His word manifest and paid my debt.
How He sorts my problems is inexplicable.
There is an issue I have at hand now, and I have committed it unto His mighty hands and am believing that it is already settled.
This God is Jehovah El-shaddai; He has everything in abundance...praise the Lord

"In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit." BUILDED TOGETHER! How do we not know today what unity and grace and knowledge that our brethren in the beginning knew? How do the vast multitudes of gentle believers seem to be starved to death for understanding even of the first basics of knowledge, and find mostly contention and divisions instead of fellowship?

Bruce, besides "totally changed" as you have said before, and you tell people to tell others what he has done for them; what has the Lord done for you?

Felicia; Ephesians 2:1-7(Washed by His blood/made clean of past sins, understanding, wisdom, knowledge, discernment happens when He does this:""Eph.2:8-10."" There will be more than "just three things you will have to do" after he calls you, Don't let anyone deceive you with smooth words.Seek wisdom and get understanding. And it is NOT easy continuing in the faith/The battle against the flesh wages on.

If we really love Him, why do we so frequently celebrate the grace of Ephesians 2:8, and so seldom acknowledge the grace of Tit. 2:11-12? After all, they both come from God's word.
If we truly love Him, why do we find so many excuses to not come together with others of like mind to celebrate our relationship and learn more about Him? Heb. 10:25

Wherefore remember, that ye beingin time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands,
That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world. Ephesians 2:11-12 two types, Jews and Gentiles. Yep

Baptism is not essential for salvation. Romans 6 and 1 Peter 3. Ephesians 2:8-10.
  • Scott Gates on Psalms 127 - 7 years ago
We are saved by both God's mercy ( Titus 3:5, which prevents us from going to Hell) and His grace ( Ephesians 2:8, which allows us to go to Heaven instead). Since God's saving mercy endureth forever, it becomes impossible for someone who gets saved to ever experience Hell! Psalm 136 is a wonderful reminder (26 times) of God's forever-enduring mercy. We have been hit over the head with this truth!
  • Bruce on Galatians 3 - 7 years ago

John 3:16 For God so love the world that he gave his only begotten Son Jesus Christ that whosoever believes in him shall not be perished but have eternal life. What a loving God we serve. Thanks to the blood of Jesus that shed for us by his blood we are forgiven and redeemed. HE PAID THE PRICE FOR US. OUR JOB NOW IS TO PRAISE HIM AND WORSHIP HIM ONLY FOR HE IS WORTHY. AMEN
  • Dianne on Ephesians 2 - 8 years ago
Ephesians is the greatest love letter from our heavenly father to the body of believers.
  • Joyce Cardoza on Ephesians 1 - 8 years ago
God said you must rightly devide the word, and we are also in the dispensation of Grace, the entire Bible is written for us, but not every verse is addressed to us, or written about us, if you read the red letters of Jesus Christ, then read what He taught after he paid our sin debt, and you really knew how to read and teach the truth, you would not teach the way you do, Ephesians 2:8 it was hidden
  • Wayne on Ephesians 2 - 8 years ago
For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness, but unto us which are saved, it is the power of God.
  • Jason Campbell on Ephesians 2 - 8 years ago
Grace continues to be the theme and a advent point of conconclusion throughout the chapter, making it clear that God has given us everything we need, through his son's death, for our sins!!
